You had the Moonstone. An item of phenomenal arcane might, a talisman from beyond the stars capable of forcing superhuman lycanthropy onto anyone who touched it. And you kept it in an unlocked drawer in a university lab?! Captain America 402

What's the gender neutral term for werewolf?
The female equivalent is a "wifwolf" but I don't think there's a gender neutral term.
As you know, man and men were once gender neutral (hence mankind) and had prefixes to denote gender ("Wereman" for male and "Wifman" for female)
The "were" prefix was dropped, just leaving us with "men" and the "wif" prefix was kept, eventually became the words "woman/women" and "wife"
Therefore, I propose that the term should be "Manwolf."
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

The father and the werewolf son team-up by J Jonah Jameson and Man-Wolf (John Jameson) is hilarious and touching.

I've talked about J Joanna Jameson before, this is her son.

This is John, he's 10. He's a Man-Wolf variant if you couldn't tell. Boy-Wolf maybe?
Tumblr media
The thought was like what if John's werewolf form was more easily controlled and JJ pretty much treated him like a dog. Idk why I made him 10 I just wanted to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's not a legitimate threat at all because Joanna has him under control. He's not an astronaut because he's too young but he wants to be one when he gets older.

Him in winter clothes. (Sorry about the red paper ik it's hard to see)
I think Kit babysits him sometimes because Joanna understandably has issues finding a babysitter for him. He's not a threat to Spricket either because he recognizes Kit's scent.
That's all I'm going to mention for now but feel free to ask questions about him. :)

Modern English bothers me. We had three perfectly good words: wer, wif, man. Then apparently we decided that all wives should be married, and all men should be male.
“Mailman” should be gender neutral, damn it. There’s always “mailwere” and “mailwife” if you must specify when they deliver your parcels.

my oh my, why do you think John might not want to keep contact with his father as an adult. He seems like such a supportive and emotionally reassuring presence. Captain America 402

Okay, so, a "Werewolf" etymologically is literally a man(wer) Wolf(Wolf) via old english (actual old English, I don't go using the phrase "old English" when I mean "early modern English" like some humans do.)
Anyway, old English "Wer" was gendered. That is, the term "Mann/man" would be the one used for the generic "a human individual" that we by default assume werewolf would be referring to.
Which means a lady werewolf would be a "wifwolf".
And a werewolf of any gender should be a manwolf. (I am knowingly committing the etymological fallacy for funsies. Feel free to punish me however is appropriate for such an affront.)
Based on this analysis, I can only conclude that all warehouses are men.

Theres a specific feeling to being introduced or finding something that becomes your hyperfixation but the community for it is either too old to be posting about it or too small.
So now I get to sit here and suffer while hyperfixating on THIS stupid silly little manwolf

and THESE cringe-fail trolls!

And everyone who follows my account will have to suffer seeing them and me talking about The 10th Kingdom because this is my account and I do what I want!

I learned recently that the word "werewolf" directly translates to "man wolf" because in old English man was "wereman".
"Man" just meant human so man as we understand it today was more like "male-human" (wereman) and woman was more like "female-human" (wiefman)
From my understanding, this is also were the word "wife" comes from since woman was pronounced like "weef - man".
So technically werewolf is a gendered term.
And therefore a man would be a werewolf, but a woman might technically be a "wiefwolf" and a nonbinary person might technically be a "manwolf" (human-wolf)
And I just think that's fun so I wanted to share lol
