what are your favorite malving tropes?
OHHHHH we could be here all day!! i’m now going to hit you with a series of headcanons and tropes both because these two make me insane
obviously, i imagine that john and malcolm are each other’s first love. they met each other when they were around 16 and immediately clicked and fell into place. while malcolm had a lot of friends growing up, john was more lonely. they're both also friendly with kingston, but they know that what they feel for each other is very different than that relationship with kingston
they used to go off alone on the belvidera and could spend hours in discussion over christian theology and the organisation of the church of scotland. while they're both chrisitian evangelists, malcolm is of a Slightly more liberal persuasion, mainly as rebellion against his fundamentalist father, who he is not close to
i see john and malcolm both as gay men though of course they never put a name to this. john is more aware than malcolm that he lusts after other men, whereas malcolm is more aware than john that he's in love with him. i also see, of the two, john more likely to find love with another man whereas malcolm is more likely to wind up in a lavender marriage with a very good female friend
when john lived in australia, he spent so much of his time thinking about malcolm there with him, about them making a life with each other where no one could challenge them. in his most pathetic moments, he imagines being a wife to malcolm in every way that counts, and wonders what their children would look like
john brought malcolm’s letters with him on the expedition, brilliantly portrayed in if not, the next and only your dear individual self which i strongly recommend to anyone. john re-reads the letters frequently and they are his biggest source of comfort, greater even than his bible and it shames him to admit it, so much so that he refuses to think about it, but it's still true
i loovvveeeee the idea that john was the one to give malcolm the nickname "elphie" and he remains the only one who calls him this. malcolm loves it less so for the name itself, but because john created it and it's something just the two of them share
the necklace that john can be seen wearing in ep 8 was a gift from malcolm, who was the one to carve it. it's one of john's most treasured possessions, and he never takes it off
my fc for malcolm is ben lloyd-hughes, but the important things for malcolm's look for me is that he should have dark hair and dark eyes and this is because i enjoy unrequited nedving where john looks at edward little and sees the ghost of another dark-eyed man that he loved
historically, malcolm went on to marry, first all to a woman named mary douglas who died after giving birth to their daughter, and then another woman called charlotte melville, who died a few years before him. my hc is that he married mary because he was getting older and it was the socially expected thing to do (and at this stage the franklin expedition is basically confirmed dead) and then when she died he thought his daughter would need a mother. because i'm evil, i hc that he saw aspects in john in both of his wives, and that's why he married them; mary being pious and shy, charlotte having green eyes and being really good with maths
in a survival au john Has to come home, with malcolm waiting on the docks for him. john ends up retiring from the navy and moving to burnfoot with malcolm where they are the strange bachelor uncles to john's nieces and nephews. john dies first (being older and also having lingering health complications from the arctic) and malcolm lasts no more than a year after. he requests that they be buried in the same grave
#thank you for the ask i love nothing more than Yapping about my blorbos <3#the terror#malving#john irving#william elphinstone malcolm#i'm care them#malving nation rise. rise!#asks#luthanraels-bignaturals

Solving the Fantasy High Last Stand Exam math problem
I just watched the Last Stand Exam eps of Fantasy High Junior Year last night and the math question gave me a vivid flashback to being given problems like this in elementary school and filling an entire page with painstaking calculations, working out the location of both trains minute by minute until I found where they were the same. Because sometimes "give the gifted kids something new and challenging to do" ends up being an impossible task that kids just don't have the right tools to solve.
But eventually I got to algebra class and they taught me the real way to solve problems like this, both accurately and quickly! Which is what I will show to you.
(It would still probably take me longer than five minutes. Especially without a calculator. Nobody's gonna divide 175 by two-and-one-sixth without a calculator. C'mon.)
I tried to explain Why I was doing each step while still going as fast as possible, feel free to ask questions if you're curious about anything.
#dimension 20#fantasy high#fantasy high junior year#the last stand exam#lace's personal stuff#yes I recorded this on my lunch break at work no one else was in the office

tff re-watch, ep 9 (false of heart | honest of action)
spoilers
prologue. back in beiyu, high school days. wen yi fan and sang yan watch a film. wen yi fan chooses a horror movie. she likes them because they're better at making you forget things (horrible real-life things).
sang yan is a scaredy cat.
present day. wen yi fan is a magnet for trouble, isn't she? she's just minding her own business... literally just walking down the street, then bam, a flasher attacks her.
a spikey-haired boy annoying little twerp "rescues" her. we're going to see a lot of this boy (we'll call him spikey), but let's skip him for now.
sang yan calls wen yi fan (eeppp it's actual voice calls now), and lures her to go grocery shopping with him (mr. "i cant carry them all")
sang yan is miffed that wen yi fan gets her own shopping cart. hahaha his BIG sigh, did y'all notice that? (ill get around to making a gif of this sigh sometime soon).
he's double-miffed that wen yi fan is asking him about his house's renovation timeline.
sang yan dispenses his own shopping cart and finds wen yi fan, because... to quote cyn lynn: "no one - and nothing - shall separate them again. not even a cart." 🥰
wen yi fan can't decide on toilet paper. she calculates the price of a single tissue roll (sang yan teases her about her terrible math skills, but there's something unfunny here. wen yi fan doesn't allow herself life's small comforts, because she thinks she doesn't deserve nice things).
on tiktok, there's a challenge called "husband/boyfriend buying everything my wife/girlfriend touches at the supermarket." sang yan would win this challenge by a landslide.
more sang yan shenanigans! he fools a grocery-worker into thinking that wen yi fan is his (beautiful) wife. that little smirk!!!!
sang yan pays for and carries all of the shopping (what a stinky liar hihi! see #5 above). he even volunteers to walk back inside the supermarket (carrying all the bags) because wen yi fan forgot their umbrella.
and annoyingly, spikey is back.. annoyingly offering wen yi fan to share an umbrella.
sang yan: "WE have an umbrella. you can move aside." jealous sang yan again rears his ugly head in this one.
MOVIE NIGHT!!!!!! they re-watch the same horror movie they saw in beiyu. sang yan chooses this movie because he found out that spikey is the actor in this film (again, to quote cyn lynn, so he could size him up).
sang yan is still a scaredy cat.
when wen yi fan pauses the movie (to check that the boy is indeed really spikey). the film stops at a close up of the little boy's terrifying face. sang yan's reaction, hahaha (BJT is so good at comedy. Zhang Ruonan too!!).
alsooo!! when wen yi fan (instinctively) sat closer to him so he'd stop being scared, he sat closer to her too. and when she was laughing at him for trying to act tough, his eyes were also laughing at her for laughing at him. (the way they've already brought light/lightness into each other's lives in so little time (or a moderate amount of time?? cause boy do they move slow. haha!).
the next morning. sang yan declares to wen yi fan that he has a job interview. no, actually, it's the jobs that have been looking for him, and he's finally picked one that he liked. lol. so cocky (but in a totally lovable, irresistable way).
this is a call back to episode 7 when sang zhi mentions to sang yan that wen yi fan was asking about his current employment status. his motivation in life (to do better, to do good) has always been wen yi fan.
enter: sang yan's game developer era. time to flex those computer science brain muscles (and be a productive member of society, instead of being a bum).
i like the little moment between grandpa su (su haoan's granddad) and wen yi fan. even he is egging wen yi fan on to make a move on sang yan ("my grandson's friend who keeps annoying him." accurate description, grandpa!)
speaking of su haoan. turns out, he's also employed at the same game/tech company that hired sang yan. (i think these two are the real soulmates, and their souls can't stand being apart from each other. also, it's not explicitly said in any of the dialogue, but they've been friends/classmates since childhood, right?)
to celebrate, su haoan invites sang yan for dinner (wen yi fan and qiao qiao are gonna be there too, btw). but hearing wen yi fan's name, sang yan... walks away? (what's his problem this time? haha).
but of course, he makes it to dinner. (are we still even surprised? we all know he'll always show up for wen yi fan. huhu).
at the dinner table, the conversation turns to the topic of first loves. wen yi fan interjects, "maybe only girls care more about their first love."
but sang yan thinks otherwise: "the place of first love is irreplaceable." su haoan's (and my) heart is crushed for sang yan.
soooo! here's my theory. the first frost's manwha author, zhu yi, is a big austen-head. and this story was specifically inspired by "persuasion" becauseeeee.. the plot!! "Anne Elliot is reunited with Frederick Wentworth seven years after being persuaded to end their relationship. As they navigate being in the same social circles and their lingering feelings, their love is ultimately rekindled and reaffirmed."
there's even a line in the book which the lead guy, frederick, says (or rather, writes to anne, about enduring love). "Dare not say that man forgets sooner than woman, that his love has an earlier death." seee?? hahaha.
anyways! enough about persuasion (tho please read it if you ever have the chance).
epilogue. back at the supermarket, sang yan picks up a book (a book wen yi fan had in high school), and reads off a few lines from the pages… from wen yi fan's favorite poem, "when you are old." sang yan telling wen yi fan (secretly, and still from afar, his true feelings) that she's the one he will love forever.
i loved this episode. a bit more lighthearted than others, and one i go back to if i want some laughs. :) yun lang! bye!!!

finished DC2 so here's a tier list for both DC2 and DC4. Unlike with DC1 there's nobody that I found super irritating. Before anyone asks I am doing okay mentally, I initially predicted Amelie as the first boot so I was prepared for her to leave as the second. Ted was more unexpected but considering they almost voted him off in EP 2 it made sense
DC2 Explanations:
Krystal: She got character development and all but the power went over her head super fast and I can't forgive some of the stuff she's done. The redemption didn't feel fully earned either what with her trying to demean Oliver to get him to work with her again and only actually apologizing after Connor exposed her. But otherwise she's an alright host
Nina: She's funny but her voice was grating to the point where I had to switch to the Spanish dub because of how much it was irritating me. Sorry to the VA, hopefully they improved her voice in DCAS which I will not be watching unless if Alessio returns to the game and wins DC4
Hunter: The Hunter/Tess/Ally polycule actively make each other worse. Tess and Ally's conversations revolve around Hunter most of the time and the interesting bits of Hunter's character (the stuff he used to bond with Tess and Ally initially) fly out the window in favor of the love triangle conflict. He became more interesting to watch after Ally got eliminated
Riya: Was rooting for her initially but she was doing way too much for pretty much nothing. She was already in a comfortable position in the final four from her alliance with James and Aidan, there was no need to destroy their relationship when the two were already planning on voting for Hunter before she did all of that. Could've waited until after the challenge or before the start of the finale
Karol: On one hand she was kind of robbed and it sucks that we could've have seem more of Karol's softer side through Aidan because of James, on another hand she kept antagonizing Aidan when he called out James for throwing her under the bus IN FRONT OF HER and also apologized to her when she came back. Going after James is understandable, but Aidan didn't do anything wrong the first time
Maggy: Want to like her but her personality is just that she's the shy one who gets bullied and is also Kai's girlfriend. Also the interactions with the girl's alliance at the beginning was boring but unlike Rosa Maria and Lake she didn't really have much of a chance to shine after that. Her cheerfully threatening to give Yul a second black eye during the finale was funny though
Yul: He sucks but he was meant to suck so it works, also his greetings are usually pretty funny and more enjoyable than the average greeting
DC4 Explanations:
Lynda: She's pretty funny even if she does plays the game as if she ran out of diamonds in an Episode story and isn't good at any of the challenges. Girl was in the perfect situation at a swing vote and fumbled it horrendously. Also in regards to that one scene in S4 EP 4 she's seems more ignorant than homophobic, even if she did apologize to save herself she at least apologized
Jade: Her character right now is just being the strategic one. There's snippets here and there that show more of her real personality (love for marine biology, getting anxious when doing timed math which is kind of a mood, getting visibly angry at Benji for messing up her plans to get Diego off Spencer's back, being uncomfortable talking about her vitiligo due to the struggles she had because of it) but they're just snippets. We need more
Spencer: Actively makes Diego worse (Diego was initially in Mixed Feelings before EP 4) and his personality is insufferable. He's not really fun to watch, and it sucks because I was actually looking forward to him when I saw his audition tape. Yeah the scheming's cool but I don't like him as either a person or as a contestant
Ivy: Her personality felt superficial and her conversation with Benji only confirmed what I already knew, that entire situation felt condescending. Bro just wanted to get an answer for why he wasn't included in the alliance and she goes "you just gotta find your peeps" as if 2/3 of the entire group weren't already in an alliance that was excluding him and "you voted for Spencer which doesn't help," which was because HE WASN'T TOLD ABOUT THE VOTE. Rooting for her downfall alongside 5/8 of the remaining Red Team member because I hate that six-person alliance. Blue Team FTW
Also my favorite pairings so far are Gabellie and Jaidan. Zaivy has potential to be interesting considering their drastically different backgrounds but we'll have to wait and see. I'm neutral on Anarissa, Huntessally and Tomjake and I dislike Spenciego (forced + Spencer doesn't seem to like him) and Wishley (too one-sided, Ashley may help Will overcome his fears but Will does not do anything for Ashley)
Edit: Apparently Connor/Riya was also a thing? Did not know that lmao, neutral to them too because I didn't catch onto it the first time
Rankings might change later

Hey, sorry to bother you! But last night's ep of Chicago PD was pretty poor by PD standards at least with my eye, which is ironic given how we were being begged to watch. But what does a 0.44 demo mean? How do they know the age demo of an audience?
Also does PD (or most One Chicago shows) ever actually have competition to challenge for viewings? Do you know of anything coming up? When I see TVline everything alongside it looks dull so I can see why One Chicago always comes up top still. I'm not from the US so a lot of the other shows don't mean much to me especially if reality TV/sport!
Ye olde ratings question!
Alright- to answer your demo question, the number 0.44 is an abstract measurement for how many people in the 18-49 year old age category (the target audience) watched the show. It is calculated through an extrapolation of viewers who report to a company called Nielsen. These Nielsen viewers complete surveys about their age, race, or other defining demographics, which is how they know the ages of people watching. THIS article explains how all the math is done, but the biggest thing to remember is that these numbers are an estimation of what the whole American population is watching based on a sampling of people.
The question of are these good ratings? is very loaded. I believe this is at or around a series low for PD so, no it's not good for them and it has been dropping. However, broadcast TV is dropping across the board and these ratings are higher than several other scripted programs on network TV right now. To answer your competition question, yes they will eventually have more scripted competition (all of One Chicago will), but several shows have not returned from their hiatus yet. We will likely get a clearer look at how the show is faring in the next couple months as networks bring their primetime programming back. It is worth remembering that PD has been a top-rated show for most of its run. While they are dropping, that ranking still may not change if everyone else is dropping too.
Then it becomes a money question. These ratings help set ad rates, so is the ad money coming in enough to sustain the show still? So far, it seems so- just with a lot of purse strap tightening.
Edit: forgot to mention that ad money is not the only source of income for these shows. Syndication, international markets, etc.

The Neouivela Variety Show (2022 - PRESENT)

[▶] ep. 1 - 2 ── Storybook High
Each member was given a role to act out:
The episode begins with a skit of each member entering the classroom:
Aina is reading a book alone in an empty classroom with the lights turned off.
Next, Sujin is shown skipping to class while humming to herself, “I can't wait to see my new class, I wonder who I'll meet!” She opens the door and turns on the lights. Upon noticing Aina she jumps from shock. “Oh! Uh.. excuse me? Who are you?”
Aina eagerly jumps up from her seat and bows deeply. She accidentally slams her head on the desk which causes the whole set to burst out laughing. The scene replays at least 3 times before cutting away.
“Hello! I'm Hiramatsu Aina! Nice to meet you!”
“Oh… ok? I'm Sujin.” Sujin offers her a polite smile, albeit a bit awkwardly, while walking to her seat.
The first bell rings a moment later, indicating that class is about to start. The remaining members (bar Haeun and Dambi) all file into class, taking their respective seats.
As each member introduces themselves in character, cute, school-themed name cards pop up with their character traits and names.
Aecha arrives right as the second bell rings. She introduces herself as well and announces that today there will be competition for the title of class representative.
(Eunjeong: “I don't really want to be a class rep though?”)
Right after Aecha finishes explaining, Haeun waltzes into class while eating a baguette.
“What time do you think this is?” Aecha crosses her arms in faux anger.
Haeun seems unbothered. “I was hungry.”
Dambi closely follows behind, blazer slung over her shoulder, offering a simple nod as a greeting.
The games are as follows:
Math Class - sneaky eating challenge. The members must try to finish a Korean lunchbox while trying not to get caught by the teacher. The last one standing gets 5 points, the first to lose gets 0.
Aecha suddenly spins around from the chalkboard. “Hey! Min Sujin! Are you eating?”
Sujin sighs and slams her food on the table. “And what?”
“That’s not very in character??”
Social Studies Class - random team debates on unserious topics such as; one butt or two butts?; is a hotdog a sandwich?; and more. The teams were chosen randomly before each round, courtesy of rps. Aecha judges which team provides the most compelling argument. One point is given to each member on the winning team.
“Those who don't like mint chocolate should just die.” Aina seems to be the only one upset by her team losing the debate.
“That's not how this game works.”
Music Class - finish the lyrics. The girls are lined up at the back of the class and must run forward to the microphone to finish the lyrics. One point is given for both the song name and lyrics correctly guessed. Those who guess incorrectly are blasted with wind.
“Seriously, why do K-Pop idols use so much English nowadays, it's K-Pop, K-pop.” Eunjeong huffs.
“Don't be mad just because you didn't study hard enough.” Dambi teases.
Oh yeah, Dambi wins, which is kinda out of character as the delinquent.
"Uhh... I bet you weren't expecting this."

[▶] ep 13 - 14 ── Storybook Mafia
This time the episodes are set in an ‘abandoned’ shipping container warehouse.
The gift for the winning team was only a 30,000 won gift card but they took this game way too seriously.
Aecha, who is for some reason taking the mafia boss role, finally speaks up. “Those in favour of killing Nari?” Everyone raises their hands. “Ok-”
Nari lets out a guttural scream while falling to her knees.
Also, Aina was the game master and described each night sequence like it was a Shakespearean play.
“It was a dark and stormy night, Eunjeong strayed down a narrow alleyway, unsuspecting of the danger awaiting her further down the path-” She acts out each word with large and dramatic movements.
Sujin cuts her off, “Who died?”
Aina stares at her, offended. “…Excuse me?”
The mafias won (it was Nari and Dambi btw) and Haeun was in an uproar.
Haeun leaps up from her chair once the mafias are revealed. “Didn’t I tell you?! This team is useless!! I knew it was her from the beginning but you voted ME?! Why!?”
The civilian team was too stunned to speak.

[▶] ep 21-23 ── Storybook Haunted House
Half of these episodes were bleeped out because they kept swearing, and Eunjeong's idol image went to a place of no return, but! These are probably some of the best of the series.
So good, in fact, that it has become a recurring Halloween special on the show. Last year we also got 'Storybook Haunted Hospital'.
The girls- who had been locked inside of a haunted mansion- had to look for clues hidden in the house to find keys to unlock the hundreds there were like 10 of locks that hung on the big gate at the entrance.
However, along the way, there were actors cosplaying as ghosts that would chase and jump scare them. People who got tagged by the actors would have to be saved by other members, which caused many arguments.
“Unnie! If you keep getting caught I'm gonna just leave you there!” Aecha yelled while trying to fend off a bloody ghost.
There were also puzzles they had to solve but nvla collectively has one brain cell so Sujin was literally carrying.
“No, it should be the fourth box because two plus one is four.”
“…Are you stupid?”

[▶] ep 40-42 ── SBBG (Storybook Battlegrounds)
In this episode, the girls played irl PUBG (aka they shot each other with airsoft guns).
They were split into two teams, Team A (Aecha, Haeun, Dambi) and Team S (Sujin, Eunjeong, Nari, Aina).
“OK! Since we're the first team we'll be team A.” Haeun and her teammates laugh brightly at the other team's disgruntled looks.
“Then we'll be team S.” Nari cuts in sharply with a smug tone of voice.
The Velas are super competitive, even when there isn't a prize involved. Now hand them a bunch of guns and...
“Just run in and kill them all!”
a chorus of cheers erupts from the Team S base
Literally, none of the teams came up with a game plan, so it was pretty much just a messy free-for-all with everyone running around like headless chickens.
Team A won! And they did not hesitate to rub it in (especially to Nari, who is known to brag about her video game prowess).
“She plays Valorant all night and she can't even get a few points.”
“Platinum who? She must be hacking.”

A/N: I've been holding onto this since *checks notes* '0' October?!?! and I'm sick of looking at it so here

Anya | Ep. 2
Anya squinted at the pixelated landscape shimmering on her laptop screen. It had been five years since she'd stepped out of Eonix and into the real world, forever altering both realities. Haven, the town that had embraced her and her extraordinary gift, now buzzed with a unique energy. People went about their days with a spring in their step, the ever-present clink of experience points a constant reminder of their own potential.
The old bookstore, where Anya had first discovered the ability to level up in the real world, was now a bustling community center. Laughter spilled out from open windows as children dueled in mental math games (logic +1), their cheers punctuated by the rhythmic clinking of experience points. Anya, ever the mentor, was showing a group of teenagers how to channel their artistic talents into creating calming music for the town's new meditation garden (tranquility +2).
A familiar warmth bloomed in her chest as she watched them. This wasn't just a town anymore; it was a testament to the power of shared growth. The secret of leveling up, once Haven's closely guarded treasure, had begun to stir a quiet curiosity in the outside world. News trickled in – a village with an unusually high number of virtuoso bakers, a town renowned for its flourishing community gardens. Anya knew it was only a matter of time before the world came knocking.
A soft chirp drew her attention. Perched on the windowsill was a sleek, metallic bird unlike any she'd seen before. It tilted its head, its single blue eye gleaming with an otherworldly intelligence. Anya recognized it instantly – a messenger from the Equilibriums, the enigmatic organization that policed the balance between the digital and real realms. Their arrival could only mean one thing – the secret was out.
A knot of apprehension tightened in Anya's stomach. The Equilibriums viewed her abilities as a dangerous glitch, a potential tear in the fabric of reality. But Anya knew better. Leveling up wasn't a threat; it was an opportunity, a chance for both worlds to evolve together. With a deep breath, Anya closed her laptop, the pixelated world of Eonix dissolving back into code. It was time to face the real world, and all the challenges, and connections, it had to offer.
Anya's heart hammered against her ribs as she faced the Equilibrium messenger. The sleek metal bird hovered expectantly, its single blue eye boring into her. Taking a steadying breath, Anya projected her thoughts, a skill she'd honed over years of navigating the complexities of human emotions.
"We come in peace," she asserted, her voice resonating with the combined strength of Haven's leveled-up community. "The ability to level up isn't a danger; it's a catalyst for growth, for both humanity and the digital realm."
The messenger remained silent for a moment, then a series of clicks and whirrs emanated from its metallic body. Anya braced herself, unsure if it was a threat or a response.
"The Council acknowledges the potential," the messenger chirped, its voice surprisingly melodic. "But change is a delicate dance. We propose atrial."
Anya's shoulders slumped with relief. A trial she could handle. "What kind of trial?"
The messenger unfolded its wings, revealing a holographic map flickering to life. "A community on the brink of collapse," it chirped. "They possess the gift, but struggle to find harmony. Guide them, and if they succeed, the Council will consider revising its stance."
Intrigue sparked in Anya's eyes. This wasn't just a test of her abilities; it was an opportunity to prove the transformative power of leveling up on a grander scale. "We accept," she declared, a newfound determination settling in her voice. "Haven will show the world the true potential of growth."
With a final chirp, the messenger vanished, leaving Anya with the weight of a world's hope on her shoulders. Haven's model of shared leveling had thrived in a small town, but could it translate to a struggling community on the verge of ruin? Anya knew the stakes were high, but so was her belief in the power of a community rising together, one level at a time.
The whirring of the propeller blades grew louder as Anya peered out of the small airplane window. Below, a sprawl of dilapidated buildings and dusty streets stretched towards the horizon. This was Zenith, the community chosen by the Equilibriums, a far cry from the quaint charm of Haven.
Anya wasn't alone. Beside her sat Kai, the former Equilibrium operative who had become a firm believer in Haven's philosophy. Together, they would be the guides, helping Zenith navigate the uncharted territory of shared leveling.
Landing was a bumpy affair, the rickety airstrip a testament to Zenith's decline. A haggard group awaited them, their faces etched with worry. Anya introduced herself and Kai, explaining their purpose. The reception was lukewarm, skepticism clouding the air.
"Leveling up?" scoffed a weathered woman named Clara. "Sounds like another empty promise to us."
Anya understood their cynicism. Zenith had been ravaged by economic hardship and social unrest. Trust didn't come easily. Yet, she saw a flicker of hope in some eyes, a yearning for a better tomorrow.
The following days were a whirlwind of activity. Anya and Kai devised a plan, leveraging Zenith's existing strengths. The community boasted skilled mechanics (engineering +1), but lacked resources. Anya connected them with Haven's crafters (creativity +2) who, inspired by Zenith's plight, designed fuel-efficient engines. The experience points resonated, a tangible reward for their efforts.
Slowly, the spark of collaboration ignited. A young programmer (coding +2) from Zenith, mentored by Haven's tech wizards (problem-solving +3), developed a revolutionary irrigation system, reviving barren fields (agriculture +1). The once-desolate landscape bloomed with life, a testament to the collective effort.
But challenges arose. A group of disillusioned youths, led by a charismatic cynic named Cyrus, saw leveling up as a tool for personal gain. They stockpiled resources, refusing to share. Anya knew this internal conflict mirrored the one Kai had faced.
Kai stepped forward, his voice echoing with the lessons learned in Haven. He dueled Cyrus not with weapons, but with a compelling vision of a shared future, a future where everyone thrived. The townspeople, empowered by their newfound abilities, rallied behind Kai. Cyrus, swayed by the collective spirit, eventually relented.
As Zenith prepared to present their case to the Equilibriums, a sense of unity resonated in the air. The once-skeptical Clara approached Anya, a newfound glint in her eyes. "We weren't just leveling up our skills, Anya," she said. "We were leveling up our hope."
Anya smiled. Zenith wasn't just a test; it was a transformation. They had proven that leveling up wasn't just about individual growth, but about the collective potential of a community rising together. The future, once uncertain, now shimmered with the promise of a world empowered by shared growth, one level at a time.

Okay you've ranked TXT's eras but can you rate their albums? LIKE solely based on the songs.
i got you bestie.
i'll go in chronological order from debut until now since i've literally been here from the beginning. i will be excluding singles and japanese comebacks.
i know you didn't ask but i'll also include the best song from each in my opinion and music taste.

• best song: dreamer (no brainer honestly.) insert what i said about 20cm
----
there we go, theresmy honest rating of txt's albums and ep. would this ruffle feathers if i mattered? definitely. how dare i give one of my ult groups a 5.5/10?
them being one of my ults doesn't mean i have to eat everything they put out up 💀
anyway...

Are aftermaths every four episodes again?
Okay so fun fact:
The episode structure is very closely based off of tdwt. The non elim episodes are the same as the ones in tdwt if i did my math right, and all of the upcoming locations are somehow thematically similar to the ones in tdwt (its hard to explain- but, for example, ive already confirmed the las vegas episode to be the same as the niagra brawls episode. Its in the same place, chronologically. Or like in todays ep there was also a pyramid. Etc etc)
So thw aftermath placement is kind of wonky. I tried to do every 4 episodes, i think one is every 5. Structure is weird
I hope people have fun speculating where the challenges are going to be now that ive said theyre vaguely connected to the tdwt ones :)))

Ome thing about game shows, the men always stick together. It's a bad strategy individually cause it keeps all the men until the end. But it's a good strategy too cause it keeps all the men until the end.
If the show continues as math/puzzle/strategy games then then men are HUGELY giving themselves an advantage cause some of the girls seem smarter and more strategic. So getting them out first is beneficial. It's easier to beat the guys in the end. However, if the challenge starts being physical then they are HUGELY disadvantaging themselves (unless it's a flexibility challenge maybe running or swimming as well) cause they'll have to face all men. One man is a pro dancer(Knucks) one does martial arts(Yun B), and one is a former pro basketball player (Seung Jin). Then there's Dex/Jinyoung who will likely end up on the main cast later in the season (known for being super athletic and was the Korean equivalent of a NAVY SEAL when he did his military service).
Idk how smart Dex is yet. He is a bit fearless and brute force-ish though which might be a liability since a lot of the other players are really strategic. But it could be advantageous since a lot of people are more strategic which can make you passive while figuring things out. He might be a contestant to pull a power move(s) and shake up the game before people have time to finish strategizing. Also, he's blunt af (like Xitsuh and Yurisa) which might mess up his social game.
Yun B and Knucks seem the most well rounded for the guys. Knucks was able to figure out the numbers game in EP.3. Ji Min is pretty well rounded for the women but a lot of people will end up distrusting her due to the way she plays the game (has her hand in so many different alliances and parts of the game). She doesn't seem as good with numbers as some others in the cast though and many of these games seem number heavy so far.
Mina doesn't seem like people will look at her as a threat despite winning the first 1 on 1 elimination. She hasn't revealed herself in many ways. I think people see her as naive or weak. I think she's (somewhat) playing into this on purpose to not attract attention. There's also some guys who fit this too. Jin hyeong and Sungjoo. But I think people have already guessed that Jinhyeong is really smart.
As for Pi, people are already out to get her cause she plays ruthlessly on other shows. Also, cause she was eliminated and came back so she might have secret vendettas despite playing nice for now.
There's other people like Dex but out of his group, he's the main threat thus far. None of the others stand out among the cast. Besides Xitsuh but we've already seen that despite being really smart, he can create enemies easy if he talks lol.

Oh Lookity...
Not only did her cowardly ass block me, she blocked me right after reblogging, gish galloping/deflecting/moving the goal posts AND credited me a rather significant amount of power in general:
Woowww....I’M responsible for tumblr dissatisfaction? I am omnipotent, huh?? Also, it would be “dumb ass”, not one word. Again, you really need to pay moar attention in school....
I said he was doing BAV....the triangle, etc....I then demonstrated how much evidence there is supporting that. I now don’t understand remotely what you’re saying or asking here....and I’ve already very fully address this. Many, many, manyyyyy times.
Umm....taxes???? Whaaa????
Plus, again, just so we’re clear:
RAS was not going to originally do jizzy, actually going way back...the show wasn’t gonna be a mystery, etc....
SH were fucking starting in the pilot in March (note: no jizzy!!!), with PP possibly sucking off some other dudes in the process....Cole went to do a photo assignment in Botswana, returned to NYC. Upfronts were in NYC in May, he reconnected with PP and moved back to LA (for her) the next day.
They were dating casually, off and on, all summer. At Comicon, in JULY, SH were very much fucking AND RAS (and everybody else) were very much pimping the BAV triangle.
Again, they did not return to Vancouver and resume filming until September. There is no hint of jizzy before sorta ep 4----and even that’s a lot of fandumb pushing it. We really don’t have a huge indication (other than the show opting to leak it) until ep 5 (when they kiss).....even ep 4, is very little jizzy, them separately....
So....as to “how would RAS know they were gonna date?” Umm.....they already were, like I keep telling you, endlessly. I’m really sorry math, timelines and dates continue to so desperately challenge your pea brain.
Seriously, dude, this has been pointed out to you repeatedly. Not sure why you can’t grasp this. Or why I’m evollll for stating something that’s not just true, but supported by full, concrete facts?
My “proof” is them discussing it, repeatedly, at Comicon....And yes, it was originally slated to moar closely mimic RAS’s own reboot....
Ummm.....the cast doesn’t “live in different locations” during hiatus. Everybody has a house in Hollywood/LA.....some of them are literally walking distance.
And no, actually, not much they haven’t....my entire point. If they were such besties, it would be, again, way moar than a single, annual publicity pose....

Honestly, the best order would be the order Alan's put them in on the 24/7 livestream, which is pretty much chronological order. It's found in the description of it.
However, this description doesn't include most of the recent videos, even tho those videos are in the livestream.
The current livestream order is thus: Av - Geometry Influencer Arc Ep.1 - 3 AvA Ep.11 Victim Av - Coding Av - Addiction
The placement of these recent videos is actually a little bit weird, so here's a revised, more logical order:
AvA Season 1 [Ep 1 - 4] Av Minecraft Av Youtube AvM Season 1 [Ep 1 - 14] AvA Season 2 [Ep 5 - 8] Av League of Legends Av Pokemon Av Super Mario Bros AvM Season 2 [Ep 15 - 19] Av Team Trees Av Team Seas Av Arcade Games AvM Season 3 [Ep 20 - 30] (Optional: AvM Season 3 All In Real Time) AvA Season 3 [Ep 9 - 11] Av Influencer Arc* (Optional: Watching the videos on Green's Chanel/Tiktok) AvM Season 4 [Ep 31 - 35] Av Math Av Physics Av Geometry Av Coding Av Addiction Optional: All Actual Shorts
Optional: All ABTV Bumpers
This order pairs AvA Season 3's videos together and AvEducation videos together. Their order doesn't really matter much, since their placement in the timeline isn't known, or if they're even canon.
Actual Shorts are separated into seasons too, but honestly you can just watch them in bulk at any point after AvM Season 3's end. This is only because some shorts allude back to previous episodes in AvM Season 3 and AvA Season 2.
On Influencer Arc:
Due to the nature of Influencer Arc, the 'ideal' viewing order is difficult to nail down. It's kinda…messy. So there's either one of two ways you can go about it: just watching Alan's 3 main videos of the Arc, or watching certain videos on Green's channel first.
If you want to watch it in a way that mimicked how those of us who saw things being uploaded in real time did, here's the order [Not including his Instagram posts. They're there, they just don't add much context that you wouldn't get from the main videos.] [Videos marked with [G] are on Green's Chanel]
[G] Wild Trick Shots [G] Super Orange vs Greenzilla
Influencer Arc Ep.1 - Green's Channel!
[G] Super Orange vs Flaming Red & Freezing Blue [G] Vlogging Through Minecraft [G] Short - THANK YOU SO MUCH! [G] Reacting to YOUR Comments! Optional: Green's Tiktok Videos [G] Short - Really guys? [G] Surviving 24 Hours on My Couch! [G] Short - Eating Grass [G] DROPPING MY FRIENDS INTO LAVA PRANK! [G] TRY NOT THE LAUGH CHALLENGE *IMPOSSIBLE
Influencer Arc Ep.2 - IS GREEN OKAY?!
[G] REACTING to my FRIENDS having FUN without ME [G] The OFFICIAL sticksfight.com HOUSE TOUR [G] Optional: All the Videos from 'Taking a break' to 'blooper reel'
Influencer Arc Ep.3 - Burnout
[G] Superhero video v1
Hope this helps! I don't know if there's a playlist with this order, or one including all of Green's videos, but at least this list should help get you started. Hmmm...Maybe I'll put one together.
I also highly recommend watching the AvG Commentary Videos in the same order afterwards, they're super funny. Especially the commentary for the AvM S3 All In Real Time and the Actual Shorts ones.
Anyway, have fun!
Newbie wants to get into AVA. Help!
so I'm one of those losers (/lh) that, despite being a kid right when AVA was getting big, never actually watched it. Now, after watching a bit of AVM as an adult, I'm wanting to - but there's SO MUCH. There's lingo, there's gajinkas, there's AVA and AVM and AVE and what have you. There's a lot to watch and not all of it is compiled on Becker's channel playlists, so I must ask...
How does one watch AVA?
I've been notified of an order for AVA and AVM, but there's stuff like Animation vs Addiction that doesn't feature in any of the playlists. Are those canon? Is there a chronological order? Is there a playlist with all of this as it was released or in a comprehensive order? I'd appreciate any help you can give me, even if it's just a YouTube playlist or an order (e.g. AVA 1-4, AVM S1-2, AVA 5-8, AVM S3, etc).
Also, extra question, is there any fandom-specific lingo/terminology that I should know? Like how some call the King from AVM "King Orange" or "Mango". I'm assuming this all came from Becker streams but genuinely I am as NEWBIE as newbie gets. Appreciate any responses, have a wonderful day!
