i remember when i first posted a goldies inferno animation people were like "thats not william afton anymore" because he wasn't being evil 24/7 i feel like if goldies inferno ever came out people would be surprised by how normal he acts, he even has his moments where he does a kind act im all for villains who are evil all the time, but for william i find it boring if you're taking his character down a serious route

This scene stood out to me for the way Rick reacts to Tannenbaum and calling him a ¨good man¨, having a rather guilty reaction to it, which is a bit rare for him to show.

I wonder if it is guilt about having lied to Tannenbaum about his true intentions, about what he is about to say next to pretend he hates the guy or both. It is clear from his voice that he doesn't like telling Tannenbaum those hurtful things but he has to finish the movie.

It reminds me of how in "Cryo Mort a Rickver" when the adults that confuse Rick with him being their child called him a ¨good kid¨ a few times, and Rick even seems to like being called that as he is seen smiling in one scene.

But here he feels guilty when he gets called a good man and process to confess what his initial intentions were- calling himself a bad person and trying to pass off as a ¨bad guy¨.

I wonder if like in part Rick wants to be perceived as a ¨good person¨ by others but at the same time he believes he isn't capable of being good or doing good? That all that he can be is ¨a piece of shit¨ even though some of his actions show that he isn't just that?

watching Arcane without fandom interaction is really interesting actually. I remember watching Jayce's Progress Day speech in s1e04 and being so relieved he did the right thing and listened to Heimerdinger (one of the only times I ever agreed with Heimerdinger lmao). I mean, did he see the inventions he presented? A giant fuck-off punch gauntlet and a death laser? And he didn't think that would harm people? I thought it was the peak of Tech Bro Bullshit.

(as an engineer, I've heard a lot of Tech Bro Bullshit and I'm a bit more sympathetic to it/the motivations behind it. The hextech inventions shown in that episode was a prime example of Tech Bro Bullshit: something created with the genuine intent of helping people, but in a way that addresses the symptoms of a deeper, societal problem. It never gets to the root of the problem and it addresses the problem in a way that helps the capitalists (now our miners can do their work safer and faster! oh, so their boss can make them work longer hours?) The inventors never seem to recognize that their invention can do significant harm and isn't ready to go out without more testing.)

The fandom reaction seemed to be... more negative, though? Or maybe that's because I'm in the jayvik sphere more and there's more Viktor stans? I think that was one of the fandom reactions that surprised me.

I just re-watched the episode knowing the prevailing(?) fandom opinion, and I ... hm. I understand Viktor's POV and the sense of betrayal much better. I'm impressed by how quickly Jayce salvaged that speech. I think the main issue isn't the choice that he made, it's that he should've made it before he got on stage. Impulsiveness has always been a Jayce character flaw, though. I still don't think he chose wrong.

Also, for the record? Every time I insult hextech and call the inventions tech bro bullshit I am also insulting Viktor. He is one of the two founders of hextech, he's an equal partner, and he deserves to be insulted just as much as Jayce. A lot of times I see people acting like the bad hextech decisions that were made was pure Jayce, but nuh-uh. This is an equal partnership, folks

.....huh. rheum had me do a grip strength test at my most recent appointment, which was new, and she said my results were not bad/pretty good, and next time she wanted to see the same or better, but out of curiosity i poked around what average results are expected to be and found several charts suggesting mine were significantly lower than average for my age group

when i was having cluster headaches at the end of last year/beginning of this year i took the ring out of my conch piercing and put a flat labret in bc its a bigger gauge and i thought maybe the pressure in the centre of my ear wasn't helping (i wear a headset most of the day at work), i haven't had a headache that's lasted days/weeks in a while so i decided to put the ring back in bc i also wear a chain that doesn't look right without it and i forgot i usually wear a charm on it too so now everything is back in my ear as normal and im like damn was it always this heavy??? it's only all been out maybe 6 months n they were in for years before this but it feels so strange now
