This are some good points. Loki is clearly the more seasoned expert. Though I do think the MCU does tend to relegate Loki to "knife guy" a bit too much (even in situations where it'd have helped to not just be "knife guy"). I also think societal perceptions of magic in Asgard's warrior culture might play some role in this? If in Asgardian society, his magic is seen as "just tricks", wouldn't that mean Loki would be discouraged from using magic far too freely?

Something I've been thinking about is how people see Loki's magic and possibly misunderstand the role it plays. As some of you know I do have my extensive ideas of how magic works, particularly the one seen in relation to Asgard, but this will be more in the general sense.

In canon, both Thor and Loki are the princes of Asgard and there is no doubt that, that must have come with a life-long training that probably started out similarly but branched differently as they got older and found their preferred areas of both combat and their overall skillset.

Where I'm going with this is that with Thor it's obvious; while I do think, that he absolutely did undergo training more similar to Loki's chosen type in his youth, it changed as he found what was natural for him early on. He is a warrior, (whether he can or cannot access magic is up for debate depending on how you interpret his relation to Mjölnir and the power it lets him wield as well as his parents and their relation to magic given that he is a biological son). That said, he obviously doesn't rely on stealth, speed or his mind as much as his brother.

You can say both of them use a traditional way of combat as well as magic, but while Loki IS a skilled fighter, it looks different and he is an active magic user on top of that, in the sense that his power comes from within him rather than some external object he carries. Generally speaking, he relies on more subtle and calculated techniques and his magic is an addition to that; an active extension of his skills that he has the option not to use as his only means of defence and attack.

A notable observation about this is, that Loki doesn't use his magic unless necessary or perhaps serving as a way of personal entertainment. This is different to how we see magic users on Midgard overuse their magic for frivolous tasks that (in my opinion) betray their lack of confidence in its use as well as their short life spans. Loki knows he can rely on his powers if needed and doesn't feel the need to be proving that to himself or the people around him.

In addition to that, I truly do not see him using it primarily as the means of attack. He has his speed and his blades for that. (He also probably prefers to reach for weapons first because of the nature of his culture and their connection to a warrior identity + the associations around magic). That is not to say he wouldn't know how to weaponise it, he obviously would and it probably is an area he studied extesively, but it is not his first choice. What he does is, that he uses it for illusion, disguise; if we continue with that pattern (given we only saw a sliver of his life), you would probably get subtypes such as manipulation, conjuration, alteration, restoration, protection, the list goes on before you reach destruction.

This also adds to what we see in the palace - the healers; all the ways the realm and the city within it operates. Magic in Asgard is not used for destruction as its primary benefit.

So no, when I see people write him the way they do Wanda or Strange, I disagree. His own experience and skill is beyond that and it gave him the space to choose. It's much like when an expert will seem less knowledgeable explaining a topic because they don't blurt out the first thing that comes to their mind and actually take time to give you a proper explanation using their knowledge.

Over the last few days i've had extremely bad flare ups of my joint pains and honestly needed to be able to express it. I was originally going to do a Loki or Stucky fic but I think I needed just a little more StrangeTony in my life so... here we are! I hope you all enjoy. Feeling pain wasn’t uncommon for you, constant join pain whether it was in your wrists, knees, ankles, hips or anything else that could cause pain was normal to you. You were able to normally fend it off with some light pain meds and maybe wear a brace for a little and you’d be able to survive.

This pain was not survivable. The agony in even rolling over on your bed was enough to want to scream. It was like something sharp was stabbing your spine and hips as you sat up.

You tried to get up and go take some meds, but on the way to the bathroom it was too much, and you ended up sliding down the wall in the hallway, your legs throbbing from the maybe 10-foot walk.

The only time that you’ve ever felt pain this bad is when you were a kid, and your joints would flare so bad from playing too hard. This pain felt awful. You wanted nothing but your caregivers to come and take all the pain away.

Strange and Tony had been sent on a mission a few days prior, and you weren’t sure when they would be home. All you could do is hope it would be soon.

As you stand back up slowly, you make it to the bathroom before rummaging through the pain meds you have, grabbing some. You take the highest dosage you can take and sit on the floor, crying.

Before you can even register any of the noises coming from the living room, you feel a hand on your shoulder. You freak and move away from whoever is touching you before you realize that it's none other than Tony. His face is full of concern as he gently picks you up off the floor, placing you on the counter as he stands with his hands on your face, making you look at him.

“Baby what happened? Why are you crying? What hurts?” His answers are as soft as he can manage but thinking the worst his eyes are full of concern.

Breaking down fully, you hug him tightly, sobbing into his shoulder about how bad your back and hips feel, begging for him to make it stop, to make it feel better.

He holds you tenderly but closely as he slowly rubs circles onto your back and hips, kissing your cheek. He knew what it was like to have severe pain and be unable to truly think of anything but it. After all of the surgeries and pain he went through to get his chest piece, he wishes none of this type of pain on anyone.

He softly pulls away after your tears become dry heaves and walks over to the bathtub, turning on the warm water. He grabs some Epsom salts and bubble bath, putting them both in before turning towards you and pulling you back to his chest as you try and catch your breath.

“Baby let's get you in a bath so we can try and get you to feeling better, okay? Did you take any meds?” He softly asks, rubbing your back again.

You nod your head, pointing to which ones you took. He nods and kisses your temple before helping you to get undressed and into the tub. Something he loves to do is bathe you. Although in this circumstance all he wants is to see your tears fade.

As the warm water encases you in it, your back and hips eventually start to try and loosen, the pain becoming more bearable as the meds and warm water help.

Your dada sits next to the tub, holding your hand and kissing your temple as he watches you visibly relax some. He knows the next little while is going to be hard for you both. Seeing as strange won't be back for at least another few days, there's nothing more you both can do than just hope that your normal remedies work.

As the water eventually runs cooler, Tony unplugs the bath and helps to get you out and dressed into comfortable clothes before picking you up and taking you to lay on the couch.

Once you're all set up on the couch, he turns on your favorite show and goes to make you breakfast. Even though he doesn’t want to let you leave his sight, he does his best to make your favorite foods before eventually joining you on the couch and feeding you.

Even though the pain was bad and all you wanted to do was cry, having your dada there to help you made it a little easier. The next few days were spent either on the couch, in the tub, or on your Dada’s lap as he tried to help relieve some of the pain by massaging your hips and lower back.

Once your papa got home on the 4th day of pain, he was able to help you feel a little better with some of his remedies, as well as just being there like your Dada was the entire time.

You eventually felt better and back to your normal amounts of pain, but without your two caregivers you weren’t sure you'd ever feel as happy as you do, especially seeing how you felt in the midst of the pain.

If there was anything your caregivers were able to do, was bring a smile to your face and make all the sore and bad days' worth every second.

life hates me

not me being in the middle of writing a Polin fanfic that was an avengers crossover it was also a Crack fic when my phone broke like 3 days later my laptop broke this is my mom's laptop therefor I refuse the possibility of her reading any Fanfiction I write

There's this rumors about the midnight suns movie (idk it it's confirmed) and they say moon knight is going to be in it? How do you think it would Work?

How do you think is he gonna interact with the rumoured members?? (According to am article and post in Twitter that I read) Since their different from the comics: dr.strange, wong, Elsa Bloodstone, Blade, Dane Whitman, Wanda,Agatha harkness,ghost rider, man-thing

Now I'll tell you what I think, but there's always the chance that it does happen and I'm completely wrong. So to the future people out there that find this, I'm more than happy to be wrong.

I think the Midnight suns as a movie is going to be a clusterfuck and perform terribly. The issue is that we are taking characters that have gotten shows and haven't been introduced yet to the MCU. And a movie is expecting you to come in with this knowledge. So there is the chance for a lot of people go come in and go "Why do I care about any of this?"

There's also the problem that they are anticipating this and making it more friendly to new audiences by watering down the characters. So you get Moon Knight standing in the background not saying much or you get cheap shots at his DID with no explanation and he comes across as quirky insane violent guy.

This happens in big team up comics too. Which is partly why I dislike them greatly. When you put together a large group from all over, you are either expected to know their background already and be thrilled to see them together, or they become just another figure standing vaguely in the background giving reaction shots to things that more popular characters say or do.

If they are going to do Midnight Suns, they need to give it a series with multiple episodes to cover all the characters properly. But even then... You'll notice that their other series on Netflix that did this didn't perform well at all. It had decent writing, excellent acting, and gave voice to the other characters, but the audience really didn't connect and it just kind of went bottom of the barrel in ratings.

This gives Marvel the idea that people just aren't interested in these lesser B rated characters (characters that aren't Captain America and Iron Man and Spider-man) and then they devote less time and money to them.

I mean, Marvel is already giving less time and money to their shows and even their movies. The CGI has dropped quality significantly. And with them putting everything into CGI and less practical effects, it just means that everything looks terrible. (Werewolf by Night my beloved you were beautiful and people need to devote more time and money into practical).

My fear with Moon Knight going into ANY big time movie that is not strictly about Moon Knight is what has happened to him in all the comics in the past that did this. He becomes a shape in the background and cheap pot shots about his mental health become gag worthy. He becomes that crazy guy that no one trusts because he is unpredictable and violent.

I WANT to see a show that brings in characters that are more on his level. I want to see a show with Jack Russel, Elsa Bloodstone, and Moon Knight. These are the OG of the Marvel Monster phase in comics. They started out together. They deserve to meet up.

Heck, Blade needs his own stuff first. I'd love to see Ghost Rider get a GOOD reboot and start to pal around with Frank Castel because those two love JUSTICE. (Though they are on different levels and there is the lack of development that would happen in that capacity).

I think the best thing Marvel has done so far in shows is having Frank show up in DD. Their diametrically opposed forces go SO well together and always have.

So on the line of who would go best with meeting up and working with Moon Knight? I'm back to Jack Russel and Elsa Bloodstone.

The MCU potential there is BEAUTIFUL. We have two comic book legends that have been given knew life through the MCU and are different than their comic book origins.

We have Jack Russel who understands what it is to be monstrous but also know that to be a monster is not to be evil. That often times the evil comes with being human.

Then we have Elsa who learned that of all the humans and life she has known, only the monster was the one who deserved pity and care.

Then we have Moon Knight... Well... You know what I think about Moon Knight because I could go on and on into another essay here.

SO ANYWAYS. I think Jumping into Midnight Suns is the wrong step. I think they need to work smaller and perhaps give back the Marvel Monster series. Get back to the start.

Give Werewolf by Night a series that explores the monsters and lesser liked characters. Get Man Thing back in here. Get Brother Voodoo and his zombies (though that has the potential in today's age to become Problematic if not handled with care, but amazing if done RIGHT)... Heck! Get Blade involved through this. Introduce the Vampires. (Reese in the MCU????? Yes Please).

SO yeah... I could be wrong. I'd love to be wrong and see how they do it and see it done well.... But I have concerns and honestly, I think Marvel has concerns too. They obviously WANT to do it. But two years in tells me that they still haven't figured out HOW to do it. And Oscar taking on more and more outside projects tells me that he also doesn't think they are doing it well either. (He said he'd only come back if he liked the script. That man has the right to be picky, bless him).

A/N - So this request took so long to think of something because I just didn't know how I wanted to portray them, but I think I love this fic so much.

Safe places, seen to many as the only place one can be themselves. In some cases, there's no such thing as a safe place, and some have never known the feeling of being truly safe.

You never had a safe place, for most of your life, you were on your own. The moment you knew how to make the most basic meal, your parents left you to fend for yourself basically. So when you met your caregivers, it was such an eye opening experience, for not only them, but for you too.

You had known each other for years prior to them adding you to their family with Peter, and it took a long time before you were completely comfortable letting them take care of you, but soon enough, you did.

Toddling through the room, you see Peter off in his own little corner, seeing how many webs it will take to stick all his blocks he's collected together, and your two caregivers are busy as your papa shows your dada his new tech he built.

You continue to wander through, your pacifier securely between your lips, your little blabbles muted behind it. Your little stuffie friend clutches perfectly to your chest as you climb into your play tent, where more of your friends sit, waiting for you to say hello. Your tablet lays right where you left it when your dada grabbed you for lunch just an hour earlier, ready for your little hands to come and turn on your favorite cartoon.

You grab your favorite blanket, curling into your stuffies safe embrace and safely covered by the soft fabric of your blanket. The music from the intro of your cartoon sounds through your tent, and your eyes light up with joy.

Minutes pass, and halfway through your episode, a shuffle is heard from outside your tent and then peters head peaks through.

“Cuddles?” He softly asks, his eyes begging for snuggles and human contact.

You nod and open your blanket, your normally hyper playmate, cuddled in closely to you, holding you safely in his arms, watching your show alongside you. The two of you mumble some words every now and then, up until the soft snores came from your twin flame, your soft music from your show lulling him to sleep.

Around 2 episodes after Peter falls asleep, quiet footsteps are heard outside your tent, and then a soft knock on the floor just outside the tents walls was heard, alerting your attention. You shift slightly, but not enough to wake Peter as you see your dada peeking in, checking on the two of you.

There would have been a time where a caregiver checking on you would have caused fear and you would have started to tremble, but in this case, part of you wanted to just be engulfed in his arms.

“He asleep?” Dada strange asks you. You slowly nod your head, in an attempt not to wake the boy currently under your head, soundly asleep.

Strange nods his head in a gesture to let you know to carefully climb out of your tent and come to the living room before he gets up from your tent, asking your papa to grab Peter shortly after get you out of the tent. You sit up carefully, placing your tablet back where you found it and carefully tucking your brother under your blanket before taking your stuffie and yourself out to your dada.

Once you're out of your tent you happily toddle back over to him before he protectively picks you up, kissing your forehead and holding you tightly. Your papa eventually appears with your brother wrapped in his favorite blanket, and your favorite blanket securely on your papas shoulder, ready to be given back to you.

Safety was always a concern to you, as you grew up, and even when you got to your big world, it was always a rocky apartment, or a creepy neighbor, or just the instability of the world.

But as your papa hands your blanket over to your dada, and he quickly burritos you in his arms, giving you kisses as he does, you feel a sense of safety you’ve never truly found anywhere else. Your sense of safety grows as jarvis lowers the lights and your caregivers settle you and your brother in their arms. Jarvis puts on your favorite movie, seeing as you're the little one who's awake, giving you the ability to cuddle into your dada and completely relax.

Your breathing begins to even out about a quarter of the way through the movie, as your own dream land takes over your mind. Your dada gently plays with your hair, keeping you safe and sound in his arms.

Safe Places aren't known to all, and some may never have a safe place. But you have found yours, and you knew it.

Spider-Man: No Way Home

New week New movie, for this week's movie i'm quite excited to share my opinions on SpiderMans No Way Home. This movie is a cinematic masterpiece. Now Tom Holland isnt my favorite spiderman. Personally I enjoyed Toby Maguire's spiderman more. I grew up with two older brothers so watching Barbie and doing girly things was never something I did. However one thing that we always watched in our van that had a screen was Toby Mguire 3 spiderman films.

However my opinion on my favorite spider man doesn’t matter because every spiderman is in this film. And I think that hit home for everyone. In this film we all were young again watching spiderman. I am a really big marvel girl and have been following along for years. So to see the multiverse that marvel has to offer start to overlap is such an exciting thing to see. Especially when thinking about all the possibilities. I love that this film gave Tom Holland's Parker some nostalgic moments that we all know but in their own way like when his aunt dies instead of his uncle or when Mj was falling. Another nostalgic moment was when we got to see all the villains and all the spideys fighting together to stop these villains. I also like how this movie was a redemption arc for the villains even though they couldn't stop their true nature. In the end though we all come to the realization that Peter Parker is just a kid handling all these responsibilities and always puts everyone before himself. If you are a Dr.Strang fan like I am you will enjoy the role he has in this movie. I know he isn't a main character but without him and the time stone we wouldn't even have access to the multiverse. Personally I think this movie is a 5 out of 5 stars. It made a lot of us feel young again which not a lot of things do anymore. Not to mention it's definitely a movie I think Stan Lee would be proud of. This movie pushes the boundaries of the multiverse concept in the MCU. It's an emotional journey that leaves a lasting impact, making it not only one of the best Spider-Man films but a standout entry in the superhero genre as a whole.
