🌊 To Pray While Drowning — Gaza, Syria, Palestine, and the Quiet Strength of the Broken

There is a kind of miracle in making duʿāʾ when you're barely breathing. When you’re not standing — you’re sinking. Not hoping — just holding on.

That’s what I wrote about.

Gaza is starving. Syria is still grieving. Palestine is being erased from maps and memory.

And I’m here, thousands of miles away — struggling in a different way. No job. No income. Just trying to stay afloat.

A dear friend of mine — not Muslim, but someone with a good heart — is also in the same ocean. No money. No job. No help. And I pray for her every night, hoping that mercy is wider than our pain.

So I wrote this story.

For the ones still whispering duʿāʾ in the dark. For the ones who carry others even when they’re breaking. For the ones who still believe in Allah — even when the world forgets them.

Duʿāʾ for Gaza, Syria, Palestine: O Allah, lift their pain. Feed the hungry. Heal the wounded. Free the imprisoned. Protect the children. Give them peace that is rooted in justice. And never let them feel abandoned by the ummah — or by You.

Duʿāʾ for myself: O Allah, I need You. Give me a halal job. A safe roof. Barakah in my days. Strengthen my heart. Let me keep helping others even while I am tired and afraid.

Duʿāʾ for my non-Muslim friend: O Allah, guide her gently. Provide for her. Give her ease and safety. Let her heart be comforted, and open a door of light for her — even if she doesn’t yet know Your Name.

Duʿāʾ for you (the reader who prays for us): O Allah, bless the one reading this. If they make even one duʿāʾ, give them tenfold in return. Fill their heart with calm. Provide for their needs. And grant them a place in Jannah where sorrow cannot follow.
