Mediumship is a spiritual practice that involves a person, known as a medium, establishing communication with the spirit world. A medium can perceive, hear, and interact with spirits, acting as a conduit between the physical and spiritual realms.

For Black individuals, mediumship takes on a unique form. Rooted in distinctive spiritual practices, our connection with the spirit world differs from conventional methods. Black mediums often engage with spirit through heightened emotions and feelings, offering a language of the soul that is distinctively ours.

Mediumship can manifest in various ways for Black individuals, including sudden shifts in emotions (atmospheric changes), dreams, prophecy, visions, auditory experiences (hearing voices), visual encounters with spirits, and tangible sensations of spiritual presence.

While anyone can enhance sensitivity to the spirit realm, not everyone possesses the innate gift of mediumship. It's perfectly acceptable if your spiritual talents lie elsewhere, such as in healing, laying of hands, manifestation, word of knowledge, remote viewing, and more.

Mediumship itself is not dangerous, but improper practices can lead to challenging encounters with spirits. Active practitioners should engage in daily rituals to nurture and protect their gift. Spirits may seek communication aggressively if they sense a medium's ability. Learning to acknowledge spirits without harm is crucial in the medium's journey.

In my three-year journey as an active medium, I've encountered spirits in various ways. When I resisted acknowledging them, they manifested in dreams, inducing sleep paralysis—an act of communication. Objects in my home were knocked over, and spirits even seized my body. Through these experiences, I've learned to recognize them as messages and developed methods to interact without harm.

As a predominantly feeling-based medium, spirits communicate with me through tactile sensations—tugs, slaps, pushes, or an internal locking feeling. Understanding and navigating these physical encounters became a crucial aspect of my mediumship.

Learning to control your breath is fundamental. Breath is your life force; by mastering it, you gain control over your surroundings. Slowing down and breathing intentionally helps prevent panic, allowing you to accurately interpret a spirit's message.

Being grounded is paramount for a medium. Grounding techniques, such as visualizations or connecting with the earth, help establish a stable foundation. This foundation is essential to comprehend and interpret spiritual messages accurately.

Each medium receives messages differently. Through your training, you'll notice a heightened sensitivity to spirit messages. These messages may manifest in diverse ways—through feelings, visions, sounds, or even scents.

Spiritual attunement occurs over time. As you progress in your mediumship journey, you'll begin to notice spirits communicating with you in unexpected places, reaffirming your growing connection to the spiritual realm.

In my three-year journey as an active Medium, I've encountered spirits in various ways. These encounters include spirits appearing in dreams, inducing sleep paralysis when I resisted acknowledgment, knocking over objects in my home, and even seizing my body. Through my ongoing journey, I've acquired the skill to recognize these occurrences as acts of communication. I've also learned how to put spirits to rest while ensuring my own safety and well-being.

As a medium who predominantly experiences sensations, spirits often interact with me through physical means—tugs, slaps, pushes, or an internal sensation of being locked. Understanding and responding to these tactile communications has become an essential aspect of my mediumship.

Key Practices for Developing Mediumship:

Breath Control:

A foundational step in mediumship development is mastering breath control. By regulating your breath, you gain command over your environment. Slowing down and breathing intentionally becomes a tool to prevent panic and ensure a clear understanding of spiritual messages.

Maintaining a strong connection to the earth is crucial for a medium. Grounding techniques, such as visualization or connecting with nature, provide stability. Being grounded allows for a more accurate interpretation of spiritual messages.

Each medium has a distinct way of receiving messages. Throughout your training, you'll observe an increased sensitivity to spiritual messages. These messages may manifest through feelings, visions, sounds, or even scents.

Spiritual attunement is a gradual process. As you progress in your mediumship journey, you'll discover spirits communicating with you in unexpected places, showcasing the development of your connection to the spiritual realm.

Mediumship is a dynamic journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth. Acknowledge the uniqueness of your experiences and embrace the evolving connection with the spiritual realm. YUP! 🥴 I literally have 0 Ego so this so called "ego death" either happened already and I haven't noticed OR my abusive past beaten it out of me:

Never felt deserving of anything good. When things are great I become suspicious and anxious.

My mom never instilled any kind of love or support because she'd rather sleep all day and use gifts instead.

Bullied in school and it STILL continues even as an adult presently. Yes it doesn't end, they just get crafty or lame.

When I do feel good about myself it's like I've put a target on my back and so there is always someone who has to bring me down. This ALWAYS happens and I'm fucking sick of it. This is partly why I hate leaving my house.

So yeah I've been working with my spiritual team now that I can hear them. They keep trying to build my self esteem back up but it's become a pain in the fucking asshole because it feels like no matter how much I believe in myself it's still not enough and it's fucking frustrating as fucking fuck.

Believing I'm all these fucking things feels like it's never going to happen. It's never going to be good enough. Not matter how hard I try. This spiritual boot camp is so fucking hard dude. I give it a 100\10 as much as the difficulty goes. I know they aren't doing it to hurt me. They are pushing me to believe in myself but it's too fucking hard right now.

My insecurities are so fucking ingrained in my soul that it's basically tattooed to remind me I'm never going to be good enough for anything. People online tell me I'm beautiful or pretty but they have no idea how fucked up people have been to me. I'm either too fucking skinny, too fucking fat, my face isn't up to accordance of beauty standards, I'm a "retard", weird, and not worth anyone's time or love. All of it beaten into me. No wonder why I have struggled to believe or accept Erik is my twin flame.

I know my spiritual team is trying to help but I feel so beyond help and now I have a crowded room in my head constantly trying to convince me of otherwise or negative energies belittling me. It's ALWAYS something. It's a constant fucking war in my head. It's like I have an angel on one side and a demon on the other bickering back and forth trying to get my attention and NOOOOOW spirits are trying to get me to help them?! Like...

コロナ禍で家に篭る術を会得しているので、夏休みの課題よろしくポリマー粘土で色々作っています。まずは簡単なモノから始めて少しずつ難易度の高いモノに挑戦中。ヒンドゥー教の神々は結構楽しんで作れたのですが、前回このブログで紹介したオリンピック版ヴィーナス像に触発された、題して『平和のヴィーナス』は何度も挫折しそうになりました。両腕のないビーナス像を見慣れ��いるせいか、バランスを取るのがとっても難しかったです。積読している本もたくさんあるので、来週は読書三昧となりそうです。

読書といえば、最近は夏休みの宿題や課題、通知表がない小学校もあるそうですが、読書感想文もないということでしょうか。田舎に住んでいた頃の私の夏休みの思い出といえば急流遊びや木登りなどのワイルド系でしたが、最近は危険だということで遊泳禁止になっている海や川が増えてきているようです。ある小学校の先生は繰り返し漢字を書く宿題に意味を見出すことができないとコメントしています。パソコンの導入で文字を書くということ自体も減っているようです。どうやら、子どもの頃に過ごした夏休みの風景は消えつつあるようです。

パリオリンピックも半分が過ぎました。開会セレモニーの一部演出をめぐり保守層から「宗教の冒涜」だとして非難の声が上がっていますが、その演出の中で青い半裸のギリシャ神話の酒の神、ディオニソスを演じていたおじさんはミュージシャンのフィリップ・カトリーヌさんです。その昔、フランスかぶれだった私はフレンチポップを手当たり次第に聴いていて、その頃出会ったカトリーヌの楽曲も好きでよく聴いていました。いつかパリに友人と行った時、せっかくだからナイトライフも楽しもうと情報誌をチェックしていたら、大好きなピエール・エ・ジルのイラストがフィーチャーされたお店の広告を発見。そこにはフレンドリー、ウェルカム、アート、カトリーヌ、ジャン・ギドニ、ジャック・モラリなどの素敵な単語も並んでいました。メトロを最寄駅で降りて友人と3人で現地に向かっていると、後ろから英語で「〇〇ってお店、知ってる？」と国籍不明の女子2人組が声をかけてきたので、「私たちもそこに向かっているところ！地図によるとあそこだと思う」と答えながら一緒に歩いていると、それらしきお店が。中に入ってしばらくすると、何かがちょっと違う…パリとはいえ周りはオシャレすぎる男の子だらけだし、男子カップルもちらほら。そこはゲイ御用達のお店だったのです。でもせっかくだし、みんなフレンドリーで選曲もいいし…ま、いいか、と女子5人でパリの夜を楽しんだのでした。

Circe (protection, sensuality, excesses) + amethyst (4) + aquarius (11) + the magician in reverse

You seem a very deep but also free type of witch: Circe makes me believe that you are not afraid to dive deep into things, but also that you are a type of witch that may be connected to the nature, to the land and to the ancestral ways; there is a sense of rawness, of something powerful that is not polished - because you don't care to; at the same time, the Aquarius card tells me that you are also a witch that likes to try different things: aquarius is an unbothered sign, who likes to try everything and says no to nothing; now, with Circe also comes the word "protection" so I think that you will have some boundaries in place and protect yourself (plese do!), but inside those boundaries you will probably like to explore and dabble around; then we have the amethyst, which is connected, with its purple, to psychic gifts and abilities, but this card shows us a crystal that is very grounded, but doesn't go a lot high in elevation: it makes me think that you may have some developed (or in developing) psychic gifts that will find a place in your witchcraft and magic, but not as the only main character, but as one of the things that make up your craft; there is a sense of using them to live life on earth, so for example intuition or clairvoyant, but not things like mediumship; last but not least, we have the magician in reverse: the magician is the creator and in reverse it gives a sense of calm, of quietness, of enjoying your witchcraft not to get to a goal or to make something specific, but because it's a part of you and something that makes you feel good when you practice it; it's more for the process than the outcome and it makes me think that you may be more inclined to, for example, take a walk and connect with nature rather than do a money spell (ofc both can coexist too!); it really gives a vibe of being a witch, it's a part of you and you practice it to express yourself;

types of witches that come to my mind: with Aquarius eclectic witch for sure! But I think that there's also a strong possibility of folk witch, work with ancestors (Circe is, in a sense, an ancestor of modern witches) and why not with element earth

there are a few different energies at play here: the emerald is connected to the hearth chakra, to peace, to tranquility and balance, while the Capricorn is the stubborn sign, an earth sign that doesn't stop and keeps going for their path; in addition, we have the torch that, while being a card from the Spirit element, recalls also the fire; in a sense this spread could very well be fire energy: it can be a warm hearth of the home, but it can also be destructive; the torch also makes me thing that we're talking about a witchcraft that either is headed to long term (aka will become a stable part of your life) or may even come from a long term (aka you're not the first witch in your family); it reminds me of the olympic torch, that passes from hand to hand and it really makes me thing that your witchcraft may insert itself in a path that has already been walked for a long time (it can be a family witchcraft or also another type of path, for example a specific type of priestess or priest); it reminds me of a tradition that burns since the dawn of time; the emerald, we said it already, is connected to the heart chakra, which makes me think that your emotions will play a big role or that your craft will help you be more in touch and more aware of them - and create a healthy balance; there's also a bit of a slow life vibe, which can be expressed in this emerald in the sense of being the drastical opposite of stress; Capricorn, as we said, is strong energy, but in this spread it seems like it's one of the parts that healthily coexists with the others; it's the other side of the coin than the emerald, it's the energy that pushes you to go forward and to better yourself and your craft, it's the engine that doesn't let you stay still, but go forward, still with your own time and pace; the 9 of swords in reverse tells me a similar thing: you are the type of witch that's never satisfied, in the good way; i mean that you are probably a witch that may have a list of things you want to learn and once you'll have learned them, you'll want to keep learning and experimenting other things, keep going for the next step; it may be that for you your witchcraft is not as much as a part of your daily life as it is a special moment for yourself, to connect with yourself, your craft and maybe also your ancestors; it may very well be that this emerald is telling us that witchcraft can be a breath of fresh air and quiet joy in your (possibly) busy days!

you guys got two witch deck cards, they came out together so we will interpret them also together! your witchcraft seems very double sided, from the start we have a card from the fire element and one from the water, then we have the mastiff that has an energy of protection, of defending something or someone and on the other side the nightshade, with an energy of illusion, of beauty to attract in her deadly trap; i think that your magic is ambivalent, has two main cores, one about protection, that is defensive and works for the safety, maybe to help yourself, your loved ones or others or the world, then you also have a i would say almost vicious type: not really a harmful magic, but a magic that masks itself, maybe to appear less powerful, maybe to not attract people's eyes; i feel that you may be the one who walks around a city smirking to themselves because people who see you have no idea how many witchcraft things you have on yourself; put together these cards can give an idea of masking to protect yourself: you may be in the broom closet (always or in specific situations) and being defensive about your craft is a way to be able to keep enjoying it; then we have nuummite, which is a very rare crystal that takes their name from the old capital of greenland, Nuum (possibly unrelated to your magic, but I'm a history nerd lol); again we have a bit of two sides of the same stone: on one hand nuummite can promote growth and change, but on the other hand black crystals are also used for protection; this card feels like the crystal is suspended, like those gravitating lamps, and it makes me think of a very precise balance; as an element we have air (we do have fire and water too, but i feel like they jumped out more to represent the opposites than to represent the elements themselves!); the Air card has an energy of both openness, vasity and expansion and also of keeping an eye on things, as if it was an aeral view that can go wherever it wants and at the same time keeps track of what happens on the ground; we also have the hermit in reverse, which makes me think tha you may be a solitary witch, not really because you're looking for your dimension, but because you have found it in solitary practice; in general in this spread there is a sense of carefully curated privacy, that doesn't necessarily feels like hiding in fear, but hiding to protect something (your craft) that is special to you and that you enjoy at its best when it's just you and your magic

師走に入り、１年間を振りかえる人も多いのではないでしょうか。ベランダの植物たちも、そろそろ休眠期に入ります。綺麗な花を咲かせ続けてくれたことに対するお礼の肥料を撒き、次のシーズンに備えて鉢替えや剪定をする時期です。

昨日、イスラエル・ハマスの戦闘が再開してしまいました。休戦延長の交渉が決裂したと報道されています。アルジャジーラの報道によると10月7日以降ガザでは約15,000人以上のパレスチナ人が殺害され、イスラエル側の死者数は約1,200人となっているようです。調停国のカタールは、戦闘のさらなる一時停止を確保するための交渉が続いていると伝えています。

今週はワークショップの準備に明け暮れていました。いつものように途中からだんだん気分が乗ってきて、実習用の資料を含めると45ページのスライドショーが出来上がりました。（上の写真はその一部です）２時間のレクチャーは少し早口になるかもしれません。🙇 実習もゲーム感覚で楽しめるものをたくさん用意しました。

私たちの多くは自分自身を過小評価しがちです。子どもの頃から色々なものを抑えつけてきたからです。無神論者だから、信心深くないから、選ばれた特別な存在ではないから、偉人たちのように立派ではないから、などという理由をつけて超感覚とは無縁だと思い込んできたのです。けれど自分の内側や周りのあらゆる場所に多くの神秘が隠されていて、それらを見出せるギフトを私たちは皆持っています。信仰や信条に関係なく、その聖なるものに触れ、それに対して自分を解放し、日常に活かし、精神性を高めていけるのです。

それを実現する鍵が、誰もが持つ『直感』というツールです。直感は人間の自由の象徴であり、自分の感情に向き合い、感性を磨き、信じて行動にすることで、もたらされます。

先日、Netflixでなんとなく気になった『Coded Bias』という作品を観ました。日本語のタイトルは『AIに潜む偏見: 人工知能における公平とは』となっています。マサチューセッツ工科大学メディア・ラボのジョイ・ブオラムウィーニが暴き出した顔認識技術の問題点を暴き、現代社会の基盤であるアルゴリズムに潜む偏見を検証するドキュメンタリー映画です。

マサチューセッツ工科大学の学生だったジョイは、いくつかの顔分析システムが白いマスクを着けないと彼女の浅黒い肌を検知できないことを発見し、自分がテクノロジーの視野に入っていないことを知らされます。顔分析システムに使われているデータの大部分が皮膚の色の薄い男性の顔だと突き止めた彼女は、アルゴリズムに偏見が含まれていることを知り、さまざまな疑問が湧きあがるのを感じます。多様性に対応していない偏見のあるコードを使ったAIは本当の判断を下せるのか？プライバシーや公平性、中立性、信頼性、透明性、セキュリティや安全性などについても十分に検証、配慮されているのか？またその判断は誰がしているのか？既にある偏見を含むデータを使ったAIを使うのなら、これから先の進歩は望めないのでは？

このドキュメンタリーを観ていると、ジョージ・オーウェルのディストピア小説『1984』で描かれた世界に生きている感覚になります。顔認証は法規制がまだ十分に整備されていないにも関わらず、既に多くの分野に取り入れられています。中国では顔認証は広く普及していて、スマートフォンのロック解除、飲食店での注文や支払い、勤務先への入居、ショッピングモールでの買い物、銀行や空港、ホテル、帰宅時の住宅の入り口など、朝から晩まで1日に何度も顔認証を求められるのが当たり前になっています。警察も犯罪抑止や指名手配容疑者の追跡のためと肯定していましたが、最近は顔認証のデータが裏ルートで流通し、本人の銀行口座が特定されたり、本人になりすました犯罪が行われているそうです。

このドキュメンタリーに登場する中国在住のティーンエイジャーが「誰かと友達になる時、顔認証の評価スコアが高ければその人を信頼できる。評価スコアに基づいてすぐに判断できるから、時間を無駄にせずに済む。自分の直感に頼らずともね。」と言っているのが印象的でした。

このドキュメンタリーの冒頭に登場するデータ・サイエンティストのキャシー・オニールが、抽象画家ヒルマ・アフ・クリントの絵をプリントしたTシャツを着ているのを見て、私がこの映画をただ「なんとなく気になった」から選んだのではなく、意味のある偶然（セレンディピティ）に導びかれたからだと気づきました。私にとって『ヒルマ・アフ・クリントの作品』は、自分の直感が正しいことを確かめるサインの一つだからです。そうした直感を通した気づきや人生の指針は、人間だけが受け止められる享受です。

けれど、私たちの直感を鈍らせるさまざまなバイアスがあります。同じ意味の発言をしたり、同じ価値のものを提供していたとして、より多くの人が支持したり選んだりするのはどちらでしょうか。

人間は傷つきやすく繊細です。だからこそ共感力が育まれ、それが素晴らしい人間関係に繋がり、偉大な発明を生み出します。人工知能が人間の英知を越えると言われていますが、人間の人間たる所以である共感力、優しさ、思いやり、直感にはとても及ばないと思います。
