ok so the new yonkagor song memory feels like a new and improved version of paper alibis, in a sense a reversed perspective on it. in terms of the music, the emphasis on certain rhythms are similar to a pn uncanny degree, to the point where you can replace the memory merge lyrics with paper alibis lyrics (swap “through all this trauma I suffered, to live it out and be born now stronger” with “now I’m crafting paper alibis, because I’m too weak for real goodbyes”) and lyrically the song paper alibis is about someone being forced to make up excuses and lies, with it all falling apart in the end, while memory merge is about someone finding out and taking down someone’s web of lies, you can even see it in the album cover of paper alibis (the sticky notes on the wall) and in the mv of the song (all the paper tied up with red string). also the return of the brass is something that I have needed for a very long time. this is defo the best yonkagor song to date, and I don’t mean that superficially.

Finally drew Towa!! The lyrics are from the song Cigarettes & Alcohol by Kennyoung. Which really fits Towa imo! And not just for the substance abuse! If you take it to mean both literally cigarettes and alcohol and his whole letting people hurt him thing it works well. Especially with the lyric ‘I cannot help but drown myself in pain.’ Plus the whole theme of avoiding past memories works really well for him!
