The kitchen is a mess. The files you’d been working on and all your precious notebooks have been swept off the table, strewn all over the floor. Your favourite pen in a very specific shade of blue ink slid under the couch somewhere, and you were definitely going to make him reach under there later to retrieve it because you certainly weren’t. 

“Hey—!” You barely had the chance to gasp, because before you knew it he was grabbing you by the waist and hoisting you up onto the dining table. 

“Ah ah,” he chided, stepping between your legs and giving you that lopsided smile that was so hard to resist, “it’s time to take a break, cariño.” 

And then he sank to his knees.

Within seconds Joaquín had you laying on your back, all spread out like his own personal feast. Minutes later, his mouth working its magic, you don’t even remember why you were supposed to be mad. 

More muffled sounds come from down below, and only when he stops, lips and tongue retreating from your sensitive bundle of nerves, do you realize he’s asked you something. 

“Huh…?” You manage, eyes glassy and chest heaving when you peer down at him. Joaquín rubs your thigh soothingly, his dark curls dishevelled and messy from you repeatedly running your hand through them. You do it again, full of affection this time. 

“I asked, mi amor,” he chuckles, teasing and a little breathless, “do you want my fingers too?”

I use a modified version of the Cornell note taking system! I’ll explain it below.

I use multiple things to take my notes:

Black fountain pen (Lamy Safari medium nib or Platinum Preppy fine nib)

Multicolored gel pens (Zebra Sarasa, 0.5)

Highlighters (Zebra Midliners 5ct)

Clear stickie notes of various sizes

Black permanent pen (for writing on plastic, 0.3)

Mechanical pencil and Eraser (Pentel Graphgear 500, 0.5; General’s Factis Eraser)

These all have a specific meaning to me within my notes so that I can easily see what I am looking for on a page at a glance.

I take my main notes in pencil so I can easily change them as I need to, I often mis-spell things so this is useful for that or if I got information wrong and need to change it

Gel Pens:

I use these to separate different sections of notes that are within the same larger note module. I also use them to add information in margins when they are big enough as they are easily distinguishable from the pencil.

Fountain Pen:

I use this to do my main heading and date for normal notes, and for notes that do not directly apply to the class but are still in that classes notebook. (My history notebook has history notes in pencil and the notes we took on writing in fountain pen. I know I’ll be using the writing notes a lot so I want to find them easily)

Highlighters:

The highlighters I use come in a five pack, and there are green, tan, grey, light pink, and brown colors. Each one has a highlighter tip and a bullet tip.

Green: highlight definitions or very important information. I only ever use this color in this way so that if I see green flipping through my notebook I know I need to go back at look at it no matter what

Tan: Context, sub definitions, or extra information. This is the color I go to after the green

Grey and Pink: I use these colors interchangeably as the page needs to highlight things I personally think I will want to go back and read

Brown: This color is too dark for normal highlighting so I use it to separate different note modules

Plastic Stickies and Pen:

These are for extra context when I have no room and for adding diagrams. I most often use them for when I have taken a full page of notes from the textbook before class and the professor adds extra information during lecture. I prefer the clear notes to the (more ‘aesthetic’) brown and tan ones because I can see through them and more easily remove them or lift them up to see the notes underneath. I do need a special pen to mark on them without smudging, but that is not an issue for me.

As the are clear, if I want to add a diagram, I can pull it up on my phone, add a stickie over it, and trace it with the pen. So no more messy diagrams.

Note taking:

I have two different times when I am taking notes and the things I do change order depending on that. If I am taking notes from something like a textbook, a documentary, or a slideshow on my laptop, I do all my highlighting and extras as I am taking the actual notes. When I am in lecture, I take my notes all in pencil except for the note sections in pen, then go back during breaks in the lecture and highlight/add where I need to.

I take very very extensive notes, so do not be alarmed if you don’t have a lot of notes. You want to have at least (In order of importance):

After you have those, you can add things that you want to remember, things that are less important but maybe still good to know, and extra facts or figures.

My note taking follows this pattern:

Section Title (pen)

Definition word - definition (always highlighted in green)

Idea (level of importance determines green, tan, pink or grey, or no highlight)

Sub ideas

Bulleted under idea

Sometimes the sub ideas also have sub ideas that are bulleted under them

I don’t bother with the summary in the Cornell system as I don’t usually have time in a lecture to do them, if you have time and want to do it, go for it!

Handwriting

My handwriting can vary from a little shaky but very legible to scribbled based on how fast I am writing. If you don’t have great handwriting, don’t worry about it as long as you can read it later. It is not easy to notice this right after you have written it because you know what it says, but if you even think it might be a little too messy, erase it and write it again. You’ll thank yourself later.

Oh, hi!! Well, firstly, thanks for the follow!!! Secondly, I love asks! I (unfortunately) don't always get to certain things (because life and,,,life lmao!) but I do love getting them, and I really want to make the effort to get back to engaging so! Here's the info for your notebook!

Self, Job/Work: Just ask! I usually prefer to keep vague on some things, mostly because I like to keep "professional" socials separate from my fandom ones lol and would prefer there not being a direct connection. But for the most part, I'm flexible on talking about myself :)

Bagginshield/Tolkien YES YES YES UGHHHH I adore all of that. I peeped your profile and saw some Gimli and Legolas I think which is also mi amor <3 Elsewise, I'm all over the place, but do post Supernatural, Good Omens, and Baldur's Gate (i've bought all the Dragon Ages and that's next on my list) with hyperfixations sorting as often as they can. (You can check out my AO3 to see some of my favorites [CBlue], or most often I try tagging fandoms if you need to block anything or want to hunt for something specific. (I'm also stumbling back into some Geraskier too on ocassion!)

I don't have OCs that I post here (they tend to be more on my professional one lol), and my art tag changed because tumblr ate the previous one I'd been using (sometimes its #my art and sometimes its #C Draws or #C Arts), so that's a bit everywhere and not often. I more often post my fandom writings [CBlue on AO3, which if I may pimp out a writing of mine, I wrote Compression, a Bagginshield fic (though, apologies as due to recent AI scalping all of my works are now locked to registered-users exclusively]. This is my everything blog, so everything goes here lol.

Oh my god please send me snippet ideas and prompts. That's one of my favorite ways of engage---spinning with people! That's why I LOVE participating in fandom! Pets: I have 6 cats, all of whom are rescues. To the point that the last three were actually rescued out of my wood pile from a storm that was going to hit last year. I don't post pictures of them (mostly to keep that fandom life separation like I mentioned), but I talk about them! People who know me probably also might remember my old man, Tucker, who was the loveliest of puppers. I had to say goodbye to him earlier this year (back in April, and it's just been...a time since then. I miss him often, but every memory is nothing but fondness.) They're all so lovely, and I love talking pets! (If, you know, six cats wasn't an indication ;))

I don't have a garden at the moment, but I do love talking about it!! Hobbies tend to be my fandom hobbies, but I'm also trying to get back into reading more often and I have a few crafts planned. And I love doing a gamer when I can in my free time.

let me be 100% wit you i have no favorite polish poets because i barely know any. my knowledge of polish poetry and literature begins and ends at polish literature students drawing słowackiewicz yaoi in their notebooks (real lore i've been made privy to). this is due to the fact that i cannot read polish (well that's a lie. i can read it fine i have an okay pronunciation if i take my time. couldn't tell you what any of that means though).

possibly the only polish poem i've pried open is Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer's "Fragment z Fantazji" because i consistently put it in my peterstakh sexual images due to 1) peter being polish on his mother's side to me and 2) the parts "Myśl moja ściga cię, jak fala / ściga za falą w wodnej toni", "W sieć pragnień cię oplatam całą, / A sieć tę moja miłość przędzie." & "Kiedym cię ujrzał, toś mi cała / Przed zadziwionym wzrokiem stała, / Jak moich długich snów wcielenie, / Jak wizja, którą ja tęsknotą / Zmusiłem oblec kształt widomy." containing motifs that deeply relate to peterstakh to me, such as the deep sea, spiders & webs, and incarnations of dreams/thoughts into flesh. you just had to be there.

1. How many works do you have on Ao3? ~155. Approximate count because some are podfics of my work back when it was the convention to make the writer also an author. And I have some stuff posted in an anonymous collection which I don't think get counted in works despite counting into other stats.

2. What's your total Ao3 word count? 487,897. I will hopefully be cracking half a million this year!

3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently Batman, Star Wars, Foundation, Shadowhunters, Lord of the Rings, whatever random thing catches my attention.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Double Blind [Daredevil/MCU] Exit Strategy [Batman] Surveillance [Batman] Extension [Batman] Victory Braid [Lord of the Rings]

5. Do you respond to comments? Very sporadically. Mostly for comments where there was something specific I wanted to respond to or comments from someone who prompted/inspired the fic. I feel a bit bad that I don't because I love all comments but it's a lot of energy for me that I could instead be putting into more writing.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Probably Everything I Build (Is Breaking Down).

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I'm a sucker for a happy ending so there's a lot to choose from! Maybe Rearrange.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Not a lot, but people have left some truly unhinged stuff on Exit Strategy. I delete/block where needed.

9. Do you write smut? I'm not good at it. There might be like 3 sentences and a fade to black.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you have written? I write a lot of fusion AUs but not many crossovers. There's probably some weird ones in my older stuff!

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Full reposting, not that I know of. I did find that someone basically rewrote one of my fics, with extremely specific details, and that didn't feel great.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes, many of my fics have been translated :)

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? A lot of my fics are based on prompts so kind of collaborative in that way, but the actual words on the page writing bit is pretty solitary for me.

14. What's your all time favorite ship? X-Wing. Iconic.

15. What is a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Still pained by my Les Mis Olympics AU WIP.

16. What are your writing strengths? I think I do a fun mix of humor and angst in my writing. Maybe word selection, I am obsessed with finding the best word with the most appropriate connotations. And perseverance, I will finish fics years later.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Extreme slowness. All vibes, no plot. Cannot write fic longer than 15k.

18. Thoughts of writing dialogue in another language in fics? I think generally I prefer to write in English and dialogue tag that someone said something in a different language. Occasionally I do the italics to indicate or don't do italics but use Google Translate which inevitably goes poorly. This reminds me that someone sent me a translation fix comment and I need to go see if I can find that.

19. First fandom you wrote for? Yeah, it was probably Harry Potter. I recently found an old spiral notebook where like 14 year old me wrote in colored markers and it is the worst thing ever, I should burn it, but on the other hand it reminds me that I'm kind of proud that I've kept at writing so long and improved.

20. Favorite fic you have written? I think Misson Report. I have an enduring love for Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon and I like the cadence of it.

Okay this is part 2! Its okay that you haven't watched it yet of course. But I get more nervous in case you won't like it, compared to the book or movie. Are you still planning to watch the movie sometime soon? I started reading the book last week but don't think I will be done with it by the end of the month. I don't know if I ever asked if you had a favorite quote or part of the book that sticks out to you or not. It seems like your reading year is off to a good start and idk why it's hard for me haha. I might finish up an older book instead. I do have some romances for next month and mysteries on my list. My sister also wants to try more reading, with Daisy Jones again. We were talking about bookclubs too maybe and also want to do our own. I'm sorry you didn't see Waitress either but your shows for this season are really good. I'm happy about the Notebook, Stereophonic and Les Mis for you especially. I never got to see Waitress or Phantom when they came here. I was just seeing what other shows we would wanna see this year but there isn't that much through July at least. I don't think I'm that interested in &Juliet or Six, but maybe Parade. I think that's all I know right now though and maybe there would be more.

I did see the new Wicked casting! I think I saw that she was in 13 with Ariana as her understudy but didn't know if it was true. I think the new Elphaba casting is great too and I'm glad if the movie has a positive influence on the stage show. The movie also got nominated for a lot of awards, even best picture so I guess it really is..popular lol. I think it could win costume, but I haven't seen any of the other movies this year.

Oh haha I'm always open to new food or cooking shows! My sister loves them too. I hadn't heard of this one which seems fun so thanks for the rec! I'll try to check it out. One of my goals is to actually try to cook and plan meals and possibly meal prep instead of just watching haha. We also want to try to focus on fitness more and even joined a gym for motivation. we used to go on walks but it's winter now. . So we are trying to stick to a routine and have less screen time and be more positive with our habits overall. I'm trying to be optimistic about it so far.

Aww i'm glad you liked the album! I had some of the same favorites along with Anchor and Thinking of You but I really like the whole album. I understand some of your comparisons but I think this is also a softer album with less guitar maybe and that's why it has that feel. Three artists that are pretty similar with new albums that I've enjoyed recently are Wallice, Pom Pom Squad, and Lauren Mayberry from the band Chvrches. I also think Hayley Williams solo albums are pretty similar and recommend those as well, and the band Best Coast's albums. It is mostly similar to her other album Color theory but sometimes I like more upbeat songs too and I can just give you some favorite songs across albums. Henry, Circle the Drain, Yellow is the color of her Eyes, Night Swimming, Don't Ask Me and Fire In the Driveway. It's funny you say it's more winter cuz it feels more fall to me but I know what you mean too. I am going to listen to it more with the concert coming at the end of next month. I haven't really been listening to anything much but will be playing Zayn cuz that concert is first, in a few weeks. I'm excited cuz it's been a while since I've been to a show and I've never seen him live. I felt like I couldn't miss the opportunity since he doesn't usually tour.

Your goals seem great and pretty specific! I'm always scared of specific goals in case I don't do it but they say it sometimes helps more. The book goal was the only one I did that with, which is 24 or maybe 25 for the year. What language on Duolingo? I have like over a 500 day streak right now. I did French for years but actually started doing music more recently. Maybe even practicing an instrument could be a potential goal for me, as well. i am not sure when i'll get to watch the movie or the musical but i'm definitely interested in both :( unfortunately i do not have a lot of free time for the foreseeable future but both are definitely on my watchlist for when things slow down a bit. i'm really excited to see more shows this + next year! i'm hopeful that things will calm down enough so that i can see parade, but i'm not sure if i'll have time to see anything that i don't already have tickets for which is a huge bummer for me. but also parade is kind of a hard sell to my friends who don't love musical theatre.... so... there's that.

i'm currently doing mandarin and italian on duolingo, and then will start ASL lessons through oklahoma school of the deaf next week! i tried french two years ago but it did not stick with me! in the past i've done mandarin and spanish on duolingo (took spanish in middle school) and i do want to go back to spanish in the future! what instrument do you play? i used to play piano and took guitar lessons very briefly but have not touched either in a long time!

What a confluence of events: I trophied our draft, I got a perfect Power 9, and then I started a new studies notebook. All pretty rare events, and here we have all of them together, how about that. The draft was incredible--headlined by a p1p1 Ojutai on the splash, off of three dual lands and a Pilgrim fetcher guy. Only once was it stuck in my hand, but my opponent had the green Primordial to chomp my gold gate, my sole white source, and I never drew another white gate. He had no idea I was splashing, so it was obviously the right choice, but still frustrating he happened to draw that specific thing. I lost that match, as well as one against a RW deck, that went super wide with the +1 pumper to back them all up, and I wasn't drawing much of anything, but otherwise, we had some seriously sweet games--I had 3 Pteramanders, two of which tabled, and then I had 5 UB Zombie gravedigger/spell-diggers, and only ended up running 3, since I had Ojutai and Sidisi in the 5-mana slot, plus a 4/4 bounce/discarder at six, so I didn't want to get too heavy. So I had some killer early game, and brutal late game, and indeed that's how it panned out: my Pteras would just plink in and as I went up the curve, they'd start to clunk in, and crucially divert some of the hate my other creatures would face--like my opponent had to wait to Ob's Cruelty my Ojutai, which I suspected he had, but even so, that was his entire turn, and meanwhile my Ptera continued to slash in. By the time I got five wins for the infinitivo, I was plenty thrilled, and then before I knew it, I was playing for the trophy, and we managed to nab it. That game involved my Zombies gravedigging the same old bounce spell over and over, meanwhile drawing--he ended up saccing his 2/2 saccer engine just to cut me off from the bounce/draw, and deny having to recast that thing. And so while he was fiddling away with that, again, I was plinking away and he couldn't recover. The sweetest game was when we beat a manifest guy by, again, relentlessly bouncing and topdecking it, so while he was getting a 2/2 per turn, it was costing him 5 mana, essentially, and he, again, also ended up saccing his guy rather than have to keep drawing and casting this thing over and over. Meanwhile I had my Master of Waves send his little army in to clear the manifests, while my 1/5-made bird tokens and Pteras took command in the air. It was so cool, to have all these different sources of pressure, where you couldn't really respond to them all, but have to choose one and hope your guys could naturally handle the rest. Oh, one other sweet game was when my opponent enchanted his 1/3 Tome-Bound Lich to make it a massive lifelinker to start clawing back, and then put me in the abyss, but I had a crucial combo: Reassembling Skeleton and Nantuko Husk, so he could never get through, and in fact could never even deal damage to gain life, meanwhile, you guessed it, Frank Stallone, my Pteras pecked in for the last few points and sealed the deal. Such a sweet deck. I never exploited with Sidisi or my Scorpion, though, despite the fodder from my Skeleton or Master of Waves--I even had sweet plays in saccing say my Master of Waves to Gravedigger it back. Ojutai was a serious beater, but I found I mainly needed it to dig for an answer, as it certainly took chunks out of my opponent's life, but it never connected more than twice. But I did have a sweet soft-combo in the 2/1 Elemental flyer who sabateurs to untap a creature, which would have protected Ojutai from Sorc-speed removal, but my opponent had the instant removal, sadly. It did play a role in the finishing blow for the trophy, though, as it got pumped from my Master of Waves who had already traded off all its tokens, but was still pushing damage, so a number of neat, little interactions throughout the deck--and I ended up cutting one Murmuring Mystic, one Fallaji 0/3 and two UB Gravediggers, so our SB was deep, including a Dictate of Erebos, which mighta locked the opponent given my token and Skeleton saccables.
