“How long were you hiding in the lab Mr Stark...? Err..Stark-Rogers?” Woo asked shifting his eyes from the documents to Tony.

“Three hours,” Tony replies, not removing his gaze from his feet.

“And this Steven Rogers, he isn’t your mate?”

“No”

“But he is listed as your alpha and primary contact”

“Yes”

“Care to explain?”

“We are not bonded Mr…?”

“Detective”

“...Detective Woo”

“So you are not mates but he is your alpha?”

“We are contracted”

“I see. For how long?”

“Nine months”

“So Mr Rogers has been your alpha for nine months but isn’t your mate?”

“Is there a point to this?” Matt, his lawyer, asks, trying hard to feign his annoyance. “My client has gone through a tormenting ordeal and has barely managed to save himself from three predatory alphas in one of the most prestigious education institutions in the country and you haven’t asked him anything beyond his relationship with his alpha, which I may add has no connection to this case.”

“I’m just trying to cover all my bases,” Woo says.

“Then cover them.”

“Right, so err Mr Rogers, how did you contact your alpha? You didn’t have a phone on you, did you?”

“I’m a 17 year old doing three masters, at the same time, at MIT. Go figure!” Tony finally looks at him and gives him a smile.

“Right. Of course. So your alpha and his friend?” Tony nods, “beat the crap out of them and get you out?”

“Pretty much, yeah.”

Tony and Rhodey

Have you ever thought about Tony and Rhodey doing best friend things? Like just imagine Rhodey dressing up as a platypus (Perry the Platypus, more specifically) for Halloween and Tony is like Doofenshmirtz or something.

Imagine the pranks they did in MIT like I could definitely see Tony and Rhodey running from the cops more than once because a prank went too far. And when the Avengers move into the tower Rhodey sneaks in and they play a prank on the Avengers and make them think that there's a ghost or something and JARVIS is in on it like they'll check the footage after all of the cups are stacked into a pyramid and the plates somehow too and JARVIS removes the two from the footage.

Rhodey will fill Tony's playlist with a bunch of emo songs or shit like ICP and Eminem (Tony's not a big fan of rap).

In retaliation, Tony will fill Rhodey's duffel with a bunch of Goldfish crackers (The pretzel ones that Rhodey hates so much) or sourpatch kids.

They'll have their own pen-twirling language that they made in MIT that Natasha has tried time and time again to understand but can't and she's so confused because it looks like they're either talking or having a pen-twirling competition and she can't figure out which.

Tony will have Jarvis randomly blare an airhorn sound and scare the fuck out of everyone and Rhodey just gives Tony the dirtiest look when he jumps out of his skin and spills his Frosted Mini Wheats and Tony's just laughing his ass off because that's his best friend covered in cereal like that one time Tony snuck up behind him and scared the shit out of him because he was having a bad day and Rhodey can't even be mad because Tony's smiling and laughing, and not that fake press bullshit and-
