Resident Evil Headcanon: If Luis had survived Spain he would have stuck with Ada

I love the Serrenedy headcanons of Luis working for the BSAA as much as the next person, but Luis already had a standing arrangement with Ada, and it feels very in-character for him to have just peaced out with a salute or some shit to Leon as he jumped into the helicopter with her (after making sure he and Ashley were okay, of course)

Luis and Ada become partners (in both senses in my heart) and in RE6 Luis is Ada’s companion who spends 90% of their campaign spouting dumb one-liners while Leon just hangs out in the background like “yep, those are my favorite people alright”

So a Girl Genius Scholomance AU is interesting to me because on a character level Agatha is El and Gil is Orion—Agatha very much eschews the path set forward for her as a great evil and instead strives to do the best for her and Her People (notably, she and El share the same “these people are mine, actually, and I will protect them” view of the world that slowly grows to encompass more and more people as time goes on), while Gil struggles to connect with others and is deeply unhappy when doing what is expected of him while eventually going ahead with it anyway. He also has the whole monster hunter vibe going for him. Admittedly, Gil doesn’t struggle in the same way with empathy and connection as Orion does. His is more based on second-guessing others motivations with him, and he does happily and easily make friends—it’s romantic connection that eludes him for the most part.

The fun part is, when you consider their backgrounds the connections to El and Orion completely flip.

Like, Gil and El both have a side of the family that they’re completely alienated from due to bad omens surrounding them, and they were raised in a non-traditional setting by a single parent who strives to do the Right Thing (Klaus and Gwen differ in how good they are at raising kids though lmfao). You can even draw connections back to alienation from their culture—El at least knows where her father came from and speaks the language, but Gil is completely divorced from his mother and doesn’t even know who she is. They’re both barred from participating in their culture for the same reasons they’re alienated from half their family.

Agatha and Orion, meanwhile, were both Created With A Purpose by mothers who range from morally gray to totally corrupt. They both struggled to behave like normal children, with Orion not understanding or valuing human social norms and Agatha’s spark constantly straining to break through. This caused frustration and concern from the adults and mentors around them, and they were both somewhat alienated from their peers. Ophelia and Lucretia both share a certain big picture way of thinking, though admittedly Lucretia’s motives are almost entirely selfish in nature (an interesting contrast with Agatha’s own selfish way of thinking!) and Ophelia’s are pretty damn selfless, though in a very fun way. Selflessness due to ruthlessness is a good way of putting it, and Ophelia very much plays the numbers game in almost the same way the Scholomance itself does.

I’m going to have to play around with this more, because I think the way things line up is fascinating.

why thank you thank you *bows* i like it when yanderes are very sweet and loving, but when the yandere in question is bill cipher??? it will get gross because it's bill. he's a cancer that fucks over everything, he fucked over ford, he fucked over the reader, he's will fuck up the kids and stan once they get his hands on them, everything he touches gets tainted, he brings out the worst in ppl. puppy!ford brings out the worst in reader because they have power over something who doesn't even need to be instructed to lay belly bare. bill can claim that puppy!ford is what ford needs but he's not a good owner.

you can't be a fluffy yandere with bill because there will be blood there will be gore and there will be crisis' over morals. he can be as sweet as he wants but that's your severed arm he's using to scratch his back and it's because of him ford has ripped your stomach open and is taking animalistic, feral bites out of.

ford and reader are never coming out of this the same, if they even ever come out. and i'll just be blank- bad ending reader will become the singer from puppet boy if the power of having ford under their thumb gets too addictive to resist

RR!AU Why Vox Sponsors the Resort

Something I was gently afraid of when I posted my Reverse/Reset Resort AU was the whole thing coming off as a fix-it/Vox apologist AU... which I won't deny, one of the motivations was to explore how he would be viewed when presented as a "heroic"/good guy pedastal in the narritive. Similar to canon Alastor-- he's morally grey, we don't know exactly what he wants, and is an otherwise "bad guy" on the side of the hero for now. That said! I do deeply adore Vox's mean, cold, evil side.

His "business motivation" for sponsoring Charlie in this AU can be easily written off as a tsundere farce for wanting to be redeemed, but when he contracted with Lucifer, he most definitely, verbatim, used the words "business" and "hotel/resort".

Because that's exactly how Vox sees it. He's a business shark and always wants to be at the top in terms of power-- so yes, he had to give some stuff up(the Vees had to dissolve publically, soul insurance), but what's business without a bit of risk taking? And hey, he got the jump on this opportunity...because you know what sounds like power?

Deciding who gets to enter the pearly gates or not.

So, I do think one faucet here plays on the rumor that when Vox was a human he was a cult leader. It really feels like a God thing to be able to control who gets redeemed or not. So yes, he sold his soul to Lucifer to help Charlie with her hotel/resort. Not her DREAM. Vox is helping her to redeem Sinners, but he never specified to do it philanthropically/like a charity.

He isn't treating redemption as anything more than a product: Sinners are just consumers, statistics and numbers, and all the more proven because there's evidence that ascending/desending between Hell/Heaven is possible(even though the latter hasnt been concretely proven yet, it's enough for him to do business with).

I'm sure Charlie in this AU is wary of Vox, but she doesn't understand or know the full extent of what he's planning. She doesn't have that shark mind to jump straight to the end point and what rewards are to be reaped.

Also, in light of mentioning them: The Vees are important in this AU! They might not be the polycule powerhouse /j as we know in canon, but they are too good of a dynamic to ignore! And they're next on my list to design after I finish Alastor and Vaggie.

I feel your account caters very primarily to the notion of 'Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable." When I read your writing it discusses plethora of uncomfortable topics, but it's not the taboo-ness of them in focus, but rather why it is that way by exploring the characters' feelings. I sometimes wonder how writers can sometimes have more than one focus, writing for multiple characters, fandoms, hell even ships. But that is actually the beauty of it. You think your life is over or tethered to one thing, but you survive past it, thrive, hell even forget about it. So maybe in a throuple/polycule you're not as loved. Maybe something you like isn't canon, something doesn't align with you. But you'll make it past, time and time again. You aren't chosen today but one day you will choose yourself. OMG HAPPY PRIDE!!!!!! (p.s the previous things all correlate to your fics in an extraordinarily messy and horribly phrased way, they stem from some question i've always had but didn't even voice in this message)

this is honestly really touching and validating to hear. thank you for taking the time to write this out, anon, it's clear that you put a lot of thought into this, and i love that!

it's not just in fics, either. in books, in movies, in games, in pretty much any media i engage with, what really matters to be is the characters. i want to get attached, invested, i want to project or long for a character. i care about feelings and relationships and character development and stuff like that.

so it can get dark, but even when it's dark, i want it to make sense. i want to show how a character is feeling, what they're thinking, so even if you say "that's so irredeemably fucked up" you still understand why they did it. not as social commentary, not as some moral lesson - just to watch a person go through fucked up things, and feel like you understand why it's happening.

of course, all of that depends very deeply on you being interested in the character at hand, which to me is always one of my favorite characters, or alternatively, the reader-insert themselves.

i write to convey an experience. sometimes i want to be a version of myself that's mean, that will hurt people and not feel bad, a Cooler Sexier Evil me - and i want to show you guys the appeal, put you in those shoes, show you what i think would bring you there.

and man, as someone who's closer to 30 than to 20 (and 30 is still very young in the grand scheme of things) - "You think your life is over or tethered to one thing, but you survive past it"... man, people live their whole lives trying to learn that lesson.

to me though, that's also a big part of being a writer, like. maybe there are parts of my life and the world around me that i can't control, but this?

in my fics i can do whatever i want, go places that the original material wouldn't touch, rip canon apart. validate any personal fears and anxieties, and then keep writing a future where it all works out anyways, because why shouldn't it?

I think it depends if mercenary darling works for them or not. If darling doesn't work for the evil polycule, then it's much harder to ensnare them. If darling is working for them then they're an asset. Either way it isn't easy getting darling to trust them in the least.

Big Boss is just going to use the same tactics he uses on his soldiers.

PW Kaz will be all over darling (he wants that cookie so bad). Like PW Kaz is incredibly down bad for mercenary darling. Darling killing people for them with such swiftness and efficency? Damn. He's harder than any rock you could find at the beach.

MGSV Kaz is a lot more cautious. He waits until John and V have broken down darling's emotional defenses.

Ocelot has the most fun because BB let's her have free reign over her impluses. Mercenary darling is used to seeing gorey things. Ocelot liking to torture people is no different. If Ocelot fucks with darling then they are already used to it. Therefore they can go a lot farther than they usually do when it comes to manipulating someone into their grasp.
