I have been obsessed with @madamadamiu s lost light cat shelter AU so here is my headcannon for drifts backstory (I scribbled this out as fast as humanly possible) :

Deadlock escapes animal control when they bust megatron’s colony, only for wing to hit him with his car almost immediately after. He raced him to a vet and ended up adopting him.

Wing thinks he has a gray coat, until he tries to wash him…. (This is how I’m incorporating the frame and color scheme change lmao)

Wing dies of an unexpected heart attack a year or so later, resulting in drift ending up at the lost light cat shelter.

He loves his insane cat!! Drift appreciates him, and wing isn’t so lonely anymore :)

Drift x Reader x Ratchet

• Lips chasing the rapid thrum of your pulse in your neck, Ratchet growls as his hips pump. Feeling those soft hands cling to his chassis as he moves against you and he vents to pull your scent deep. Rutting into your soft, slick heat as you whimper his name. Feels when Drift shifts as his back, servos cupping him until he’s releasing his other panel and he groans when Drift drives into his valve in a hard thrust. And it’s too much. Feels too good to be buried in you while Drift is stretching him.

• Hands sliding over Ratchet’s chassis as he bucks against the medic, Drift hears you whimpering that you’re close and Ratchet’s growled ‘not yet.’ And you gasp as you come apart anyway. Hips snapping against Ratchet in urgent thrusts, trying to tip him into an overload, the other mech snarls his name, swearing. Then groaning as his venting gets louder, engine growling.

• Clinging to Ratchet as he overloads in hard jerks of his hips, shuddering against you, it takes you a minute to register the pressure. And Ratchet’s growling in his own language and even not knowing what he’s saying, you’re pretty sure he’s swearing. “Everything okay?” You ask trying to shift under him and you both groan. ‘Don’t move. I’m stuck,’ he snarls, pressing his face against your shoulder as his fans kick on even louder. ‘Are your joints locked up?’ Drift asks worriedly, pulling out.

• Groaning when Drift tries to pull him off you and you hook your legs around him with a gasped ‘wait!’ Because this can apparently get worse. Can’t believe he knotted like a youngling interfacing for the first time. “I’m stuck,” he mutters again, unable to look at you or Drift. ‘Tell me how I can-’ Drift starts and he clears his vents raggedly to interrupt, because the other bot isn’t getting it. “I knotted. I’m stuck.”

• “Oh,” Drift manages, hearing the embarrassment and frustration in the medic’s voice. ‘So we’re stuck together for a while?’ You ask, tone more curious than judgmental and he’s so thankful for that, because Ratchet is obviously mortified. ‘So you can’t just clean up and run off to work? You have to pay the cuddle tax?’ And Ratchet lifts his head to frown at you as you just smile innocently and the medic shoots him a look as he mouths ‘cuddle tax.’ Shrugging, Drift stretches out beside you both. “It’s a thing,” he says and Ratchet definitely deserves a mandatory break. “Careful not to wiggle on him or it’ll take longer for the swelling to go down,” he adds as you squirm with a little ‘so, don’t do this?’ And Ratchet growls at you both. But if this is the only way to get him to relax for longer than a breem? He’s going to exploit it.
