hi, i love your arun drawing! beautiful linework + super adorable. i was wondering what style of clothing he’s wearing? i’ve done some surface level looking into clothing in india during the early 1500s, but i haven’t seen anything quite like the cloth he has over one shoulder and was wondering what it’s called

For Arun 's style of clothng ,He's just wearing a Dhoti for his size , and a scarf thats light and suitable for the climate of the region.

Which I imagined it in a earthy tone. oh! the cloth was suppose to be a separate scarf just for draping decor purposes . It looks like one piece in the sketch because he's cosy and too big on his frame.

So alittle bit of freedom when with design and an accessory and a character design choice. Maybe his mother gave him that scarf like below .

Here's images i took inspo from when it came to the scarf as well.

The last one being the style of Dhoti.

But I actually used a reference of this boy in a Dhoti :3c and a bit of some of the old artwork above.

Dhotis have been worn for centuries as bottoms and took inspo from the art above to add a drapery like a simple little scarf.

I kept it simple since Arun is from the sounds of things just a typical village kid living his average village boy childhood.

Okay I JUST realized I never posted these on here—- BUT BASICALLY, about a year and a half ago I started doing these experimental black hairstyle posts that were threads long on Twitter, to give artists a source of inspo for their black ocs whose hair they wanted to try something new with! There’s more to black hair than just the selected styles portrayed in media, and I thought it would be fun to show people how much texture, shape, fades, length, and style can be combined when drawing black hair—-cause it’s a kind of manipulation our hair can do irl!
