Thinking about my Gabe-Natalie Swap AU and. Oh my god it gets even sadder than in canon. Natalie was still probably the on-purpose baby. Little Gabe was probably so excited to have a baby sister (he was probably a toddler/baby himself at the time but still).
And then eight months later his parents are putting him in the car and Natalie's crying so much and then they're at the hospital and the doctor says something and suddenly his mother his crying. And his father takes him outside, also crying, and tells him Natalie is gone.
Canon Natalie never met Gabe - they never got to really be siblings. Swap AU Gabe got to be Natalie's brother, briefly, and then suddenly she was gone.

Diana mentions Gabe's blue eyes even though Jack Wolfe has brown eyes, and while yes this could very well be just the fact that Jack Wolfe has brown eyes, I think about how it could be that she's starting to forget, even before the treatment it's been so long that her memories are fading and blurring so she doesn't remember his eye color clearly anymore.

Alright bc I’ve been stuck morning the loss of the pro shot im combining two of my favorite musicals.
Next to Normal outsiders au, just picture it. Ponyboy after the fire keeps seeing Johnny(and maybe Dally too idk yet) and believing he’s still alive. While the rest of the gang try and get him to realize their gone. But at the same time they don’t want to hurt him because the kids been through enough.
Soda might fill in the role as Natalie bc he’s also going through a lot having lost his long time girlfriend but everyone’s focusing on Pony(which he understands) but it causes more grief in the long run

Next to Normal/Scream/Five Nights at Freddy's AU
Believe me, I know how it sounds.
In my defense, all of these little shitheads have been ping-ponging around in my head for a hot second now, and I absolutely adore WILDLY out of character AUs where everything is awful but also actually okay? It'll make sense, I swear. Bear with me.
Little disclaimer: this is not canon to ANYTHING. This is so incredibly self-indulgent that I can't believe I'm even posting anything about it, but whatever. If this isn't your kind of thing, maybe goodbye? If this IS something you'd find vaguely amusing, read on.
Heads up for spoilers? Maybe? Especially in the Next to Normal segment, which is right in the beginning and goes until the line of red text.
Gabriel Goodman from Next to Normal.
First of all, I'll be using the West End version of Gabe, played by Jack Wolfe. That's the version I was (visually) introduced to, and the version I always picture.
Cool beans. So, in this AU (which I'm going to have to find a name for eventually), Gabe DID get sick at eight months old (like I said, West End), but the doctors caught it barely in time. Instead of dying, Gabe was treated for the intestinal obstruction and sepsis, and survived. He was later diagnosed with spastic diplegia, a form of cerebral palsy.
He started having seizures around his first birthday, and was diagnosed with epilepsy not long after. Natalie was an oopsie baby born about two months before Gabe's second birthday (instead of being the child overshadowed by a dead sibling, she becomes the child overshadowed by a medically fragile sibling. Not either of their faults, but I imagine it WOULD happen). When Gabe was around three, he had surgery to help with his spine (the muscles on one side were WAY tighter, causing his spine to curve. In order to slow down/prevent the development of scoliosis, he had the surgery and wears a brace, in addition to KAFOs and forearm braces. He's also an ambulatory wheelchair user.
I think Diana could still be bipolar in this AU, but her delusions would be different. Rather than being triggered by the death of Gabe and hallucinating an older version of him, I think it would be more focused around everything that can, has, and will go wrong with Gabe. Maybe like constantly convincing herself he's dying? I'm not sure, I'd have to do more research.
⚠️⚠️⚠️I am NOT a medical professional, nor am I ANY KIND of expert. If I get any kind of information wrong at ALL, please please please let me know and I'll fix it ASAP.⚠️⚠️⚠️
Ethan Landry/Ethan Kirsch.
I will say that as of writing this, I've only seen the first two Scream movies, but I've read the synopsis of Scream VI on Wikipedia and I've watched a BUNCH of clips on TikTok. I'm getting around to it. I'm also already very fond of Jack Champion, so I'm biased in favor of Ethan's character. This is definitely one of the more OOC ones.
Ethan is the youngest son of Wayne and Margaret Kirsch. He has an older brother, Richard "Richie" Kirsch (8 years older), and an older sister named Quinn (3 years older). In this AU, Richie torments Ethan in the name of making fan films, and Quinn often records (despite her insistence that Ethan is too young). Starting as young as two, Ethan was in and out of the hospital with multiple "roughhousing" injuries.
He and Quinn formed an unhealthy bond early on. She became fixated on "protecting" him (really just a desperate grab for ANYTHING to control), and he learned from a very young age that Quinn was in charge of everything. It started tipping over into codependence/enmeshment territory, and eventually it would have led to the events of Scream VI (where he was so isolated that he genuinely didn't know that he had a choice in NOT going along with what his family said he had to do). Instead, when he was five, he met Gabe, also five, and started hanging out at the Goodman house.
Because of this, he was exposed to actually GOOD influences (instead of his violent father and brother, absent mother, and overbearing), and learned to make choices and such for himself. He and Gabe became BEST friends quickly because Gabe has all his assistive devices and Ethan is frequently in some kind of cast or sling or bandage. Dan and Diana are concerned, obviously, but there's not much they can do aside from give Ethan a safe place to stay for a few hours. Wayne is a well known and well respected detective, and the local... everyone turns a blind eye to what's going on in the Kirsch household.
Evan Afton
Evan Afton is the son of William and Clara Afton. He has an older brother named Michael (eight years older, and the same age as Richie), and an older sister named Elizabeth (four years older, one year older than Quinn). Like Richie, Mike takes immense pleasure in tormenting his little brother, although it's more psychological than physical (jump scaring and mocking rather than chasing and hurting. He gets physical sometimes, but much less than Richie does).
Evan meets Gabe and Ethan, because like them, he's kind of an outcast. Gabe has his braces and crutches and wheelchair, and Ethan has his bruises and casts and Band-Aids, and Evan has his tears. Dan and Diana are, at this point, vaguely concerned about how Gabe seems to be a magnet for little boys with terrible families, but they open their home to Evan like they did for Ethan.
The boys are around seven when they meet. On Evan's eighth birthday, the infamous incident occurred. I haven't decided if Gabe and Ethan were there. Evan, miraculously, survives this. He's left with a severe traumatic brain injury, which leaves him almost a combination of Gabe's physical issues and Ethan's family issues. Nearly losing Evan kind of makes Michael realize he's been an ass, and he stops tormenting him and takes over as his primary caregiver (their mother is gone by this point and their father is... well. He's their father).
Michael meets the Goodmans, and by extension, Ethan, and gets a look at what he was actually doing to Evan (it didn't seem so bad to him until he saw how Richie treats Ethan, and realized how fucked up it is to see it happen to a different kid). Dan and Diana help him kind of figure out how to care for a kid with medical issues (Gabe's CP and Evan's TBI), and give him a support system for the abuse and isolation he faces at home. He starts bringing Liz, and Ethan starts bringing Quinn, giving both girls an escape and a friend.
The Actual Thing
So, I think the Whatever-Form-This-Project-May-Take would start sometime when the boys are around ten? So the ages would be:
Gabriel Goodman: 10
Natalie Goodman: 8
Richie Kirsch: 18
Quinn Kirsch: 13
Ethan Kirsch: 10
Michael Afton: 18
Elizabeth Afton: 14
Evan Afton: 10
Dan and Diana are trying to manage Diana's worsening disorder while also staying on top of Gabe's intense medical needs. Natalie is acting out more in a desperate bid to get SOME attention from her parents, who are distracted not only with their own family's needs but also Ethan's increasingly more dangerous home situation and his and Quinn's increasingly unhealthy dependence on each other, AND the Afton's situation (William is getting more dangerous, Michael is trying to sneakily get his siblings out of the house while also managing Evan's medical needs and Liz's increasingly rebellious teenage behavior). Wayne and Richie are lurking (they don't like that other people have influence over Quinn and Ethan).
Soooooo... yeah. That's kind of all I have? I like this AU, though, so I might come back to it. Short stories, maybe? Comics? Just random blurbs? More planning? Who knows.
I haven't actually edited this at all. It's mostly just stream of consciousness while I watch the Next to Normal proshot.
Again.

Call Meeting Interruptions
Thinking about another funny DeadTired AU idea.
Deaged Dani and Dan btw.
So does anyone remember that one video of a guy doing a interview and his kids come in the room.
Imagine secretly married DeadTired. Tim is out of Gotham at the moment but in a video call with the Bats or maybe during a WE meeting (Bruce is in the call as well) when out of nowhere the door behind him opens and a Deaged Dani (Ellie), who comes in with a smile and walks in like she owns the place and not long after her in a baby walker Dante (Dan) comes in too, Tim is trying to keep a straight face but inside is panicking when he realizes he didn't lock his office door (which is coated with anti-ecto paint that only work when its locked and it keeps the kids out) knows there is no way to keep them a secret anymore.
Then Danny comes sliding in, grabs the kids, whisper/shouts a "Sorry Tim!" and gets them out.
Tim is silent for a moment, takes a breath and tries to resume the talk.

NEXT TO NORMAL SWAP AU! NEXT TO NORMAL SWAP AU! NEXT TO NORMAL SWAP AU!
Give me everything you've got. I'm here for the pain. And also, if you'd like to regale me with N2N where Gabe is Gab...do that, please. I am so invested and here for it.
Oh my god yay! I've been wanting something to ask me about it
So, firstly with N2N but with a female Gabe:
Gabe died as a baby, and while gender does to some extent influence the Gabe we see in the show (Tviet's Gabe being the 'scary but hot' trope and Wolfe's being the 'Soft Boy Of The Month' kind of character), I think a female Gabe could work just as well and you wouldn't have to change much. At the same time, it also adds some fun (angsty) implications - Diana's stained relationship with Natalie could be because she has strong mother-daughter relationship with Gabby, or at least the Gabby she's been hallucinating for years. Natalie being a 'replacement' for Gabby goes further because she's LITERALLY a replacement daughter - maybe Diana was going to name her Gabriella again but decided not to, maybe out of guilt, maybe that it hurt too much, maybe both. Gabby's baby clothes were also probably reused for Natalie in this case. It changes so little and so much of the story at the same time.
Now, as for the Swap AU!
So, the only one's that really Swap are Gabe and Natalie. Gabe was still a whoopsies baby, but either didn't get sick as a baby or the doctors were able to help him in time. Natalie WAS on purpose, just as a second kid and not as a replacement this time.
The beginning would have small details regarding the swap- we see Natalie up studying before we see Gabe come home late. Diana knows Natalie's schedule - key club before school, class, then Piano Pratice), and Gabe talks about getting the date for the spring recital, where the jazz band he's in will be performing.
Henry's pretty much the same, he just ends up Gabe's friend instead of Natalie's boyfriend. I am planning on making a few extra characters for the Jazz Band though, and they'll show up with Henry.
The dinner scene...the dinner scene is still painful.
You see Gabe does mention Natalie, in a 'Natalie would like this' or 'Natalie would find this funny' way. He's been what-ifing Natalie a lot, not full on hallucinating her like Diana but still imaging what she'd be like if she grew up. Adds to the illusion that Natalie's alive at the start.
But then Diana brings down Natalie's birthday cake, and we get this:
"It's somebody's birthday!"
"Oh, cool, who's birthday is it?"
"...my sister's."
"Where is your sister, then? Is this a surprise party or-"
"...I don't actually have a sister. Not anymore. She died when I was a toddler."
And that's the reveal that Natalie is dead.
'You Don't Know/I Am The One' is the same, just with Natalie instead of Gabe.
'Superboy and the Invisible Girl' has the same name, but a different meaning. Gabe is 'superboy' in the sense that he feels like he has to be strong and take on more than he can handle for the sake of his mother. Natalie is 'the Invisible girl' in the sense that she's an invisible presence that's been hurting the family, as well as reflecting how BPD is an 'invisble' illness.
'I'm Alive' stays the same lyric wise, just with Natalie singing it instead of Gabe.
'Catch Me I'm Falling' is a little different. It's Gabe's recital instead of Natalie's, but not only are Diana and Dan not there, Gabe briefly thinks HE sees Natalie in the audience, and has to remind himself she's not real. So the 'she's not there' is changed to 'she/he's not there', with Natalie singing the 'he's not there' because Diana didn't mention Gabe for a good while into the therapy talks. As for what takes place of the 'we had Natalie to replace-', I think it's this fun little thing we just came up with:
"Gabe used to like keeping his sister as an imaginary friend when he was little. And I encouraged it. Maybe more than I should have."
Everything else stays mostly the same, just with Gabe and Natalie having their places swapped and a few other details. Instead of drinking and doing drugs, Gabe is considering moving out, though he's still messing around with drugs a little. Instead of homecoming, it's Prom that's coming up. From then on, it's, again, more or less the same
During 'Maybe (Next to Normal)', Gabe ends up breaking down and saying he never got to understand what happened to Natalie or how she died, so Diana shares this:
"Sixteen years ago, your sister died of an unspecified heart condition when she was eight months old."
After the whole ordeal with Diana, Gabe goes to prom. Gabe's both scared that he's going to end up like Diana OR repressing everything like Dan does, but his friends assure him they'll be there for him. There's a big group hug probably.
Anyways that's more or less everything I have now! Hope you like it!

Shen Qingqiu accidentally got caught in one of the plagiaristic wife plots from Airplane, becoming cursed like Medusa. Literally. Anyone he sees turns into a stone statue and has many snakes instead of hair. Airplane said it was an interesting way to explore papapa blindfolded and Shen Qingqiu hated him more for it.
However, the only one who now knows his situation is Mu Qingfang; in the eyes of the rest of the Sect, Shen Qingqiu was blinded as a result of some curse. He hides the snakes with talismans drawn on his skin that make people unable to perceive them, they just see him all the time with his long hair loose and untidy.
Snakes are a piece of shit. They hiss and talk all the time and only Shen Qingqiu can fucking understand them. They gossip about how sexy Liu Qingge is, talk shitty about Airplane, and make weird and unfortunate comments all the time. Shen Qingqiu can hardly concentrate many times.
Snakes are also... nice. In a way. They nibble at his cheeks and force him to eat something. They tell him secrets they hear. They smell the air and tell him when it's going to rain or if a disciple has been misbehaving. With Luo Binghe in the Abyss, they are certainly pleasant company.
Then Jinlan arrives, and Shen Qingqiu may be blind to the jianghu, but that doesn't mean he won't show up. It will help even with a blindfold – in fact, he can see through it, albeit in black and white and mostly in very poor quality. It's as if he's using his qi to see thanks to the talismans he's developed with Mu Qingfang! Which also means that when Without-a-Cure attacks him, he's completely blind behind the blindfold, but oh well. Occupational hazards.
And then, Luo Binghe is there.
And their snakes go fucking crazy, excited, not one of them is scared, damn it! They've all heard of Binghe – seriously, Shen Qingqiu may have told them about Binghe, but SERIOUSLY! Don't put it like that! It's just his disciple who came back to kill him. And the Protagonist. YOU, ENOUGH SAYING HE'S SEXY.
Shen Qingqiu survives the first encounter without being dismembered, with the whole bunch of snakes murmuring and squealing excited hisses that only Shen Qingqiu can hear and understand. Fine. He just needs to protect himself with Liu-shidi and...
And of course Luo Binghe steps forward, cornering him in his own room. Of course he had to be faster and...
God, seriously, stop saying he's hot!
Shen Qingqiu is grateful that no one but him can hear any of those chaotic snakes. Except that–
Why the HELL can Luo Binghe also hear and understand them!? Seriously, Airplane!? That wasn't in the novel!! Luo Binghe, don't castrate your scum Shizun for being lustful too, all that stuff about you being sexy and hot isn't just thoughts you're accidentally hearing! It's the snakes in the hair of this master!!
... Why doesn't Luo Binghe seem disgusted by all those snake murmurs, though? There's no way he's okay with Shen Qingqiu thinking that way about him – AND IT'S NOT THAT SHEN QINGQIU THINKS THAT WAY ABOUT HIM!
