More on the “Orlok gets his shit together and makes both Hutters his vampire brides” AU that only exists in my head but it’s also wwdits style comedy, because I outsource my angst to other people.

In the complete opposite spirit of my first post, the first time Ellen and Thomas have a major fight (because they weren’t really living together that long before everything went off the rails and they were honey mooning) it’s at the castle, and Orlok is all for it at first, because that mean’s they aren’t fawning over each other for once and the attention isn’t split.

Unfortunately for him as annoying as they are when happy they are much more annoying when upset. After a quarrel they’re both the sort of people who shut down into cold passive aggressiveness. Especially with each other. The tension is absolutely unbearable.

Also when they aren’t around each other being pissy they’re so so melancholic about it and therefore so much less entertaining. They also refuse to speak to each other making his life more difficult, which is unacceptable.

A week or so into it he gets fed up and just throws them both in a room together and locks the key. He returns a few hours later they’re still going at it like rabbits and all is right with the world.

What would the fight be about? I’m imagining the past issues with money. Thomas is (fairly) annoyed that Ellen just doesn’t get why it’s so important and life or death to him as an upper class woman whose never had to worry about money and now never will and Ellen is (fairly) frustrated that his insecurity made him distant and that him trying follow victorian gender roles led to him unwilling to at least talk to her as a partner when he was having concerns.

The kind of fight where all you can do is go “okay do better in the future, we’ve got to move on”.

They don’t fight often but generally this is how it goes.
