I don't believe your claim that you're "non-binary" anymore than I believe a Xian's claim that they're a "covered by the blood of Jesus."

If it was the 90s, you'd be "goth." If it was the 00s, you'd be "emo."

They said they were literally the spawn of Satan. They said they didn't care about anything and nothing mattered to them. They said it was a permanent part of their personality. Now they're driving SUVs full of kids and worrying about interest rates and inflation.

It's not an "identity," it's a faddish subculture of conformity that was already cliché and passé when it started.

• Born on January 3rd, 2010

• Firkle's mother was a free-spirited young woman from Germany who decided to travel across America and then eventually other countries. She stayed in Colorado for a few days and met Firkle's father. They fell in love and eventually got married. About a year after that, she got pregnant. Unfortunately, her husband contracted severe pneumonia, and in her 7th month (and final) of pregnancy, he died. Before he passed, he begged her not to have an abortion in case he didn't make it, but she became incredibly depressed at his death and Firkle's following premature birth.

• Her depression caused her to be incredibly neglectful to Firkle and hardly even care about them. She had really bad postpartum and resented being stuck with them. She also partly believed Firkle was somehow responsible for her husband dying since they were born almost immediately after he died. In one instance, she nearly killed them when they were heavily crying as a toddler. She stopped herself and just left them alone in the house until they just got tired of crying.

• Firkle was named after their dad, but their mom couldn’t bring herself to say that name again. "Firkle" is a German word for "piglet." Firkle was underweight and pretty small like a piglet, and the woman had a particular fondness for pigs. She just decided to use that as their nickname. It was easier to say than George. The name of her departed beloved.

• So yeah, like I said, Firkle grew up neglected and ignored. They never loved or hated their mother. They just didn’t feel a maternal bond to her at all. She did all the basic things needed to keep a child surviving, but other than that, she just ignored them. She was just there. Because of this, Firkle was really sad and lonely until they met the Goths and, as a result, clung to them immediately after they showed the kid acceptance.

• In her grief, Firkle's mom did develop a Gothic sense of fashion, which Firkle followed after. Their mother didn’t listen to the music, so Firkle didn’t become an official goth until they met the others, and they got them into the music.

• Firkle was friends with Pete first. He found the kid wandering the streets after their mother "forgot" to pick them up from their first day of kindergarten. Pete was already friends with Henrietta and Michael and introduced them into the group. Firkle was already pretty quiet by nature, so they didn’t talk to the others beyond simple introductions. But they provided cigarettes stolen from their mother and showed an early acceptance in the ideas of pain, death, and macabre, so they let them into the circle.

• Since they were still 5 and their mom was so incredibly neglectful, Firkle was basically a sponge ready to absorb any information. Pete, as a child, had really bad anger issues and, as a result, developed an interest in gore and acted as a mentor to Firkle. He told them all kinds of crazy shit about life no child should be knowing about and encouraged the kid to channel their hurt and anger from their shitty life into thoughts of violence. The two often bonded over watching WPD videos, body horror, and discussing gruesome ideas to kill those who've hurt them.

• This got worse when Firkle started getting bullied for being goth in school. Firkle and Pete were always entertaining thoughts of murder and one day near the start of 1st grade they tried to act on it by stealing their mom's knife, and attempting to stab a classmate who used throw rocks at them. At first, Pete was onboard with this until his common sense returned and realized this kid who he had just started to consider, like a little brother, could possibly go to prison. So he called the others for help, and they all got Firkle to calm down.

• Since then, they haven't attempted murder again. They just threaten it to everyone, but they won't really stab someone. Unless they get permission from one of the Goths or their friends, then all bets are off.

• They see Henrietta and Michael as parents and Pete as an older brother. Michael is the rational one who keeps everyone in check and the main protector from bullies. Henrietta, as much of a bitch she is, has a much softer spot for her friends, mainly Firkle and is the only one who treats them the closest like a child. She actually recognizes and empathizes their need for a mother, since she wishes she had a good relationship with hers, acts as such. Pete is their chaotic ride-or-die older brother who kind of bullies them for fun but spends the most time with them and is the closest emotionally.

• Listens to Coffin Moth, Paralysed Age, This Cold Night and Void Vision (underground goth bands). They mostly like darkwave.

• Learned how to braid from Henrietta and braids Tricia's hair for school (they have the gentlest hands out of the group)

• Obsessed with knives and has a big collection of them in their top drawer.

• Carries around at least two switchblades at all times.

• Their hair is naturally blonde but they permanently dyed it to black.

• Firkle acts the most stereotypical goth of the four. The others eventually matured out of that but Firkle is the only one stuck completely with the mopey goth attitude and style of dress. They actually refuse to wear colors or show any genuine happiness. The most they’ll do is slightly smile when Karen gives them a hug or quietly laugh when Pete is beating the crap out of Mike Makowski.

• Firkle is the general soundboard for everyone's problems because they're so quiet and don't actually care enough to complain or know how to give genuine advice. They just patiently listen to whoever's talking to them and hand them a pack of cigarettes in an attempt to make them calm. 9 times out of 10, it works.

• Remember the whole thing where their mom tries to kill them for crying too much? Yeah that wasn’t the last time. Their mom has attempted to murder them a lot of times. Mostly by suffocation, a couple times they tried to drown them. These almost always take place while Firkle is sleeping, which is why they hardly ever sleep. People think their eyes are sunken and black from makeup, when in actuality Firkle is just that damn scared and sleep-deprived, they look like a zombie.

• Their pale skin is more of the same case, it's not even make-up, they just don’t like the sun and as a child was kept in darkness mostly. They're also so small from their mom just constantly leaving them alone, hardly feeding them, and usually not feeding them anything nutritious.

• Firkle's first healthy home-cooked meal was from Sheila Broflovski when Ike had a sleepover and has since then been eating at her house every night. Their weight has been coming back in a bit as a result, and they're pretty happy about this since they're no longer severely underweight.

• Enjoys hanging out with Tricia because she's always talking shit about someone, or the two are running around destroying something. Tricia made bottles of pink and black spray paint for her and Firkle, and they skipped the class to go smoke cigarettes and spray paint the walls. They're also the main protecters of Karen and usually get together to make some elaborate plot to beat the shit out of her bullies.

• Feels a bit indifferent towards Ike but he's a good person and lets them eat at his house so they're on good terms. Plus they find the things he rants about pretty funny.

• Writes incredibly depressing, gory, and tragic ending screenplays and poetry. They're excellent writers, and its their main outlet of their pain. As I previously mentioned in my Tweek Headcanons, he, Kelly, and Firkle are an acting nerd trio. Firkle's classmates and teachers were mostly disturbed by their plays, but once they shared it with the older kids, they all either cried, applauded, or both. Tweek especially loves them because they're so raw and emotional, and acting them out requires a lot of practice.

• Enjoys Gothic children's movies like Corpse Bride and the Nightmare Before Christmas. They're a big Tim Burton fan.

• Biggest Vamp Kid hater and hates anything to do with vampires. Karen's interest in Twilight is revolting to them. Its more to do with Mike Makowski because they genuinely find him the most insufferable since he's always talking about trying to turn into a vampire and talks about it the most to Firkle since they're the quietest. However, Firkle usually just walks away from him.

I promised this like a month ago I've been so busy wtf-

I made Firkle the most tragic goth because why not.

I just think for a 5 year old to be that disturbed they'd have to have a REALLY fucked up backstory so I went all the way with it.

I cannot for the life of me understand why Matt and Trey named them "Firkle." It means piglet. And most people don't know it means piglet since it's German.
