when it comes to things like this argyle doesnt really notice when they fall, it's just a small and slow buildup of feeling until one day they're sitting next to Jonathan and they realize. it doesn't feel like it hits them more than it feels like a flip switched. like something they've been feeling and aware of feeling for quite a while and they just put a word to it so it isn't very panic inducing

like he's forced to be vulnerable about a potentially dangerous identity to be honest, and he's really not into that

like with nancy they at least could tell people they were together and let them assume that this was a cishet relationship even though they weren't really a man

but to tell family and friends and anyone about this, she had to come out

when having this panic was so worried about this that in that night at like 4 am she suddenly had the realization that "oh my god argyle might not like me back"

but immediately squashed that with "even if they don't it really doesnt matter because theyre understanding and chill enough i wont lose this friendship"

meanwhile argyle is literally giving him heart eyes waiting for them to confess

jonathan confesses because argyle realized quickly and unobtrusively and realized it was probably reciprocated, but didnt want to confess before jonathan had time and energy to do self reflection on her own

so their relationship continued with not much change. very gabriel and Beelzebub vibes from good omens, quite, gentle, and romantic but never with big displays. just contentment with hanging out with your buddy that you like kissing for as long as they want (i should probably give hcs instead of just outlining how they get together)

I think we should let mathew vaughn make the prequel to argylle he wants to do and it should be almost exclusively done with henry cavill and john cena and it should be just as campy and romantic tropey as rachel/aiden was. they should write out the entire rachel/aiden backstory but only use two men to tell it. yes, they will be required to also kiss sloppy and be in a sexual situationship as per rachel/aiden established canon. it’s only fair. no pussying out this time. henry cavill should also be forced to get nonbinary with it and they should put him in a dress any time rachel would’ve worn one and he should reference his youth as “when i was a little girl”

Basically canon:

- Eddie is gay

- Mike was having flashbacks to the last time Will had biked home from his garage after the rain fight which was why he was so panicked trying to find him and apologize

- Will straight up hated El before they became siblings (there is no hate like Will Byers hate. It makes sense they made him get over that off camera)

- Mike had a crush on Eddie

- Karen and Ted are Bad parents. Mike and Nancy and Holly would not have the relationship they do if they had healthy family dynamics. Also they’re republicans so why are we sitting here defending them? Karen maybe but Ted???

- lucas and Dustin have NO CLUE about byler and it would take A LOT for them to clock it but that’s because Will and Mike have Always been Like That. They were too young to clock it when it started and it’s too normal now for them to clock it. (Not to say I don’t think lucas could notice it, he’s just gonna need some sort of nudge)

- Joyce was in a bad place when she had Jonathan and ended up projecting a lot of stuff onto him which led to a belief that she “doesn’t get him” which ended up in her giving herself permission to do a lot of bad parenting shit with him without realizing that’s what she’s doing. Jonathan will have to speak a LOT in therapy about how seeing her be a much better parent for Will fucked him up.

There are so many ships that are great in theory but totally fuck up all other relationships, steddie is horrible in theory but does something beautiful to all the other relationships

- fics that make the bad parents of the show so much worse and the good parents so much better
