“[The submitter] LITERALLY INCLUDED HER IN A PAPER [they] WROTE BECAUSE SHE IS SO TRANS.”
“Rue is not just textually trans, with she/they pronouns, she is ALSO a trans allegory! That's TWO trans aspects!”
“Rue is LITERALLY a trans allegory! They have a whole arc about realizing people are viewing them as the wrong person, creating a new identity, being hurt by that confusion, being lied to and told they need to act a certain way for people to like them.... “HE CAN BE ANY GENDER YOU'D WANT DUE TO CREATIVITY. I'VE SEEN MANY MAKE BIGB TRANSFEM OR NONBINARY!!!! YOU CAN EVEN MAKE HIM XENOGENDER OR USE NEOPRONOUNS FOR FUN.“
“C!Bigb being trans is so important. His character is very ambiguous (to [the submitter]. At least.) due to the hidden secretive nature of himself, he hides the lies, he masks his weirdness sometimes [which] can be a metaphor for a trans person not wanting to come out (also autism)((proof is [they’re] trans and autistic and [they] do this stuff)). You can color pick a makeshift trans flag from his mc skin also.”
“Every (Life) series, he changes up a lot of himself for whatever he's doing. This seems like he can't decide what exactly he is and is trying to rebrand himself as a different type of person every time, which tends to be something [the submitter has] noticed in a few trans people. The lack of clarity of who they are is definitely very genderfluid coded. It could also go for his character throughout the life series being a system, with each new series being someone else. [Their] main evidence for this is Terry (from Last Life). It can also go for being transmasc on some level because of how easy it was for him to be that character!”

I Saw the TV Glow Review

I Saw the TV Glow is a love letter to trans kids, a movie for those used to being unrepresented and misunderstood. Unlike most movies, which fight to be understood by the majority, I Saw the TV Glow focuses entirely on the audience it represents, making it an enigma amongst even queer films. Finding peace in a television show is something I’m sure most trans or nonbinary people can relate to; loving a character more than you can express, not quite attracted to them but wanting to be them more than anything. That is a unique feeling that this film captures perfectly, and it has become my own version of ‘The Pink Opaque’; not comforting in the traditional sense but a film I could watch a hundred times and never grow tired of because it absorbs me so entirely. It’s honestly a film like no other, and one of my favourites of all time.

One of my favourite things about this film is its ending – with Owen just on the cusp of self-discovery, in his forties with a family of his own, and he backs away from it. That is the horror of this movie; how fearful you can be of living as your true self, to have to let go of safety and normality just to truly live. It is horror because it is realistic, and a fight that every trans individual has to go through in order to just live. Even more realistic is the fact that, despite reaching a point where he finally understands himself and could’ve gone ahead and lived as himself for the first time, he doesn’t; he chooses the easy route, to stay buried for the rest of his life and suffocate. Because it’s scary to live your truth, when so many people are uneducated or discriminatory towards people like you, and you could hide rather than face it. I Saw the TV Glow explores a reality few other pieces of media do, but it’s the most realistic of all of them. In a way, Maddy is the villain of this film; not because they did anything wrong, but because they offered possibility through their own found freedom. Without them, it is unlikely that Owen would have ever grown close to understanding why he is so different, and why he feels so miserable in his own skin.

Another thing I love about this film is the reality of Maddy’s life. When they return to visit Owen, to try and explain the truth of The Pink Opaque, they do not seem happier. Logically, they should; they got exactly what they wanted. They freed themselves from the oppressive nature of the town they grew up in, gained independence and found themselves. However, I once again must reiterate this film’s focus on reality, despite how stylistic it is and how much of the plot is fantastical at first glance. It’s hard to be queer. It’s hard to automatically be an ‘other’ in every space you’re in, and this film is set in the late nineties/early 2000s at this point, which is prior to the understanding we are starting to gain in the modern day. Though they are at a point where they are more themselves than ever, they aren’t yet at a point of self-acceptance. That is why I believe they never return to the town they grew up in; by visiting Owen, they gained closure, and became sure of how they wanted to live, and prioritised their happiness. I like to believe that, after their visit, they gained more self-acceptance and let themselves move on, which would have allowed them to live their life to the fullest. It is likely they were unable to face Owen’s denial, something I sympathise with entirely.

The use of The Pink Opaque to aid in telling the story of the film is fabulous; Mr Melancholy representing society, and how it seeks to oppress queer individuals, and Tara and Isobel being buried at the end of the movie to demonstrate their identities being smothered. Another element I liked was the fact that The Pink Opaque ended when Maddy left. With their freedom to explore their identity, they no longer needed the show, which is why I think they had to ensure that Owen remembered it upon their return. Owen needed it more than ever, but without Maddy, he no longer had the room or the bravery to explore his own identity. Thus, Isobel was buried, and the show ended. The fact that Tara, representing Maddy, was already buried was not lost on me; Maddy was the first of the two of them to understand and thus was aware of being buried longer. Their burial by Mr Melancholy was not the show’s intended end; it was cancelled, not completed. They were never meant to stay underground, and Maddy’s return would have made season six. However, Owen didn’t take their offer, didn’t allow himself to because he was frightened. So, the show never continued, and it lost its magic. Maddy no longer needed it, and Owen was so deeply in denial he could no longer find comfort in it.

Stylistically, this film is gorgeous. Its individuality is something special. I loved the statement ‘There is still time’ being written in chalk on the ground. Despite how deep the message is, it being written in chalk relates it to childhood, likening it to the idea that there comes a point where you are ‘too old’ to transition. It serves as foreshadowing for Owen’s ending; there is still time, time beyond the film’s end for Owen to transition and become his true self, but we will never be sure if it happens. The message on the pavement is something easily passed over, no matter how poignant it may be. I loved the villains of the week in the show; all items that ought to have been mundane, turned horrific. To me, this once again speaks for the trans experience; constantly facing obstacles that you must defeat to simply live, from moments that ought to be mundane, such as family gatherings, doctor’s appointments, school etcetera. I also love the parachute scene at the beginning; I’m not going to analyse it, I just needed to mention how much I love it haha.

Overall, I think how much I love this movie is fairly obvious through everything I’ve said in this review, but I’ll reiterate it anyway. Jane Shoenbrun did a phenomenal job writing and directing this film, and I desperately look forward to seeing more of their work, no matter the subject matter. The soundtrack truly makes this film, and I think I’ve listened to it a hundred times now because of how at peace tit makes me feel. I recommend listening on a long car or bus ride whilst looking out of the window; unreal experience.

Allow me to turn up for a bit.
Just to say for the end of the series I hope to see less generalizing of mental health issues and diagnoses.
Honestly, we're already starting off on a difficult foot with that for a myriad of reasons. Trust me, I understand that a majority of the time anyone and everyone can fall into the mindset that no one understands their experiences or their unique struggles. As such there's a sense of community in recognizing that there are many people who struggle with, feel similarly to, or experience the world in the similar ways to on a diagnostic level.
Yet, this can easily led to over generalizing and centering oneself as the proper example of being something. Trust me when I say I've seen it enough with Mikoto. The way people discuss Dissociative Identity Disorder in most spaces hasn't changed as many would like to believe since 90s and early 2000s. It's great for people with the disorder to discusses their experiences with it in earnest and openly without judgment.
However, there's a few things everyone should consider when people speak on this generally.
People can just say shit online and not say it at their own discretion. No one on this earth is entitled to the truths of other people. None of us know what others are going through unless they tell us.
Just because something is true for one person with a diagnosis doesn't mean it's true for everyone. Mental health is an incredibly personal thing and no one is going to respond the exact same way to the same things.
Motherfuckers if some of y'all keep playing somebody gon' disassociate your identity from this reality.
I don't know how else to put it.
Earlier I used Mikoto as a general example of this behavior not to imply it only happens around his character but solely because one is more likely to have seen what I'm referring to in reference to his character.
Yet, this is an issue with all of the characters here and in other works.
It is really common for someone engaging with media of any kind to project upon and grow deeply attached to the characters or subjects of those works. Generally that is a fine and responsible way for individuals to reflect on their personal identity and work through their emotions.
However, there's a point that doing this can become unhealthy, unreasonable, and dismissive of the experiences of others around a person ultimately leading to individuals isolation. It's easy for anyone to get caught up in their feeling but try not to let one's feeling trap oneself up into being alone. It's best to step back before reaching the point where one begins to presume that everyone should see things how they see them. So, in an effort to validate their own feelings (which at this point one may feel their feelings are being dismissed or they're being attacked) they lean into pathologizing certain mannerisms.
At this point one may begin equating certain traits to the diagnosis itself. This isn't just with mental health. Generalizing is a habit people natural pick up in hopes of shorting the road to understanding. This commonly leads to stereotyping that has varying degrees of accuracy.
Yes, displaying certain symptoms may mean a person may have x- but not necessarily because well a lot of symptoms overlap. Just as a person can dress in a gender nonconforming way and not be nonbinary, wear a dress and not identify as a girl, want to wear a suit and not identify as a man.
It's not a case of it not being that deep. It's a case of these concepts are far deeper than many give them credit for. Identity is multifaceted. This is why I personally believe it's best to not associate certain traits and mannerisms too heavily to being a certain thing. Yet, it's a tough balancing act because identity to many people is the desire for a label, the hope to know oneself better through having concepts that allow oneself to communicate their experiences succinctly.
To a lot of people in the fandom the characters in this series give them a mix of concepts a construct to point to and go I feel like that, I have that issue, I've struggled with those feelings.
That is not lost on me. The importance of having things like that are not lost on me.
Yet, what is excluded from that is like a blaring all encompassing clamor of noises to me. The sort of people who are not given the space or respect to feel the euphoria of going that embodied my experiences is not lost on me.
I've spoken about it before and it's probably going to make me sound very old speaking about it again. However, the deep confusion and annoyance. I can't especially call it animosity because to an extent it just feels like something formed from genuine ignorance. So, I'm just gonna say it.
How I've seen people fail to engage with undiagnosed and late diagnosed struggles in favor of doing what the medical system that failed to diagnose these people did- Which was go if you don't do x, y, and z and can do a, b, and c well then why do you need to be tested? Just work harder; do you really have an issue or are you just being lazy?
Skill issue.. Sure we refuse interrogate why the skill issue is there until you display your absolute rock bottom. Something that you'll probably manage to avoid displaying until your working age because societally we're gonna shame you into not showing it but that just proves we were right when we said you could manage. Maybe come back then and we'll test you- Maybe. For now stop wasting our resources some people have real visible problems that they are deeply struggling with until you have that don't even think about looking at a therapist unless you want to waste hundreds of dollars an hour you don't have.
What an educational professional says you have a problem and your parent is ignoring it. Ahn, damn unfortunate really wish we could help but that's up to your parents and they said no. Very common things that happened regularly and still happen. I've mentioned it before but I'm from the US.
Due to the decisions of a great deal of faux humanitarians a lot of civil liberties are being destroyed. Recently I found out autism accommodations are being cut and limited to sixty specific schools in my state. When I was growing up those accommodations didn't really exist in schools that weren't well funded and if an individual was born with certain disabilities they just couldn't go to school if they were poor.
Hey, I hate to break to anyone who didn't know this but that's how the world works. I have a good daughter who regularly gets refused her right to education from school with non discrimination polices and the teachers their look in my friends face and we can't teach your child here we thought we believed we had appropriate accommodations but we simply don't have the resources necessary. This happened like three hours into the school year and she had to rush to see if she could transfer her back into her old school.
Which I said it just had all its accommodations cut. That's just shit that happens. Not even touching on the whole governmental interest in finding a cure for autism suddenly for reasons I will not name because everyone pretty much knows.
So, half the time when I go online and people are very insistent on certain disorders causing people to act in certain ways and going if you don't do this it's probably not x. I simply just go do they know that's eugenics and not how mental health works. Are they aware even if they have the thing they can't purport that it works this way for everyone and what the fuck it can cause if one does do that? Like we aware of the slippery slope or do y'all just think this is fun slide?
There's simply not just one way to know for certain that someone is x. Also no one needs to fucking tell anyone if they are and respectfully some people shouldn't be trying to fucking guess. Honestly the fact that people keep trying to find a way to tell for sure if someone is x has me looking at them with suspicion. Like why do you want to know so bad? Are you a fucking identity cop? Are you trying to be the social label irs you gonna tax me? What does this do for you?
I saw a post before clocking out of tumblr because I just simply couldn't do it anymore with real life and online.
That was like hey don't get diagnosed with autism in the US right now it's really bad- Bitch I struggled for five years to get a diagnosis bitches benefitted from and received accommodations for at least a decade before they pissed it away! Oooo bouta- Look I've only been this mad about three times in my life.
The first time was when Detroit began undergoing gentrification and I couldn't afford to live in the apartment I grew up in anymore for several reasons not just that. Then I move just to hear that they created housing programs and free college for people specifically living in the city like got damn. Which the college part really stung cause the community college I went to lost my fucking grants and was like unless you can pay us thousands of dollars out of pocket immediately you have to go.
Then the time before that was when I graduated fucking middle school and those bitches got a robotics team. Now it's like yes I fought for years for this diagnosis I took this test twice and will take it again if needed! Shortly after, "Oh guys wouldn't it be funny and spontaneous to recklessly endanger people with disability diagnoses and fuel the stigma towards them again. This has nothing to do with the rate of minorities being diagnosed late or young going up over the years we need to stick it to the dems even if it endangers myself, you, and the rest of the global world. This is the only true humanitarian option. What do you mean they're trying attack public education and libraries?"
I spent the beginning of the year being fucked over irl. Then each time I opened this app it was just post after post of oh my god the government is doing the thing it said it would fucking do and everyone warned us about. Do you know bad news of the day one through a billion no let me recap for you? Motherfucker fuck you, during the election cycle my entire dash was just shit going don't vote both options are bad you are morally flawed and uncaring individual if you vote for any party here abstain.
Now it's all do you know black people can protest by sitting out vocally or refusing to spend money at certain establishments. We need to bring that energy to other communities. Look don't align yourself with people who are like this. Don't generalize so much that you forget what a person is and what individuals are capable of. Everyone including myself could benefit from not stereotyping our own diagnoses.
However, a lot of people can find comfort in those generalizations which makes not doing those things incredibly difficult. A lot of people want to be able to see and understand themselves in ways that allow them to feel more connected to the world around them. Pretending as though this doing this does not allow people to do that is incredibly disingenuous.
Still this is where that fixation with being the victim can lead. This is the world this self-centered dismissal of others experiences can create. Yes, I know a lot of people will go, "Being a little funny and reducing disorders to quirky traits now and then doesn't create this problem and we're not all doing it in any serious way. It's in good fun."
There's something that's said a lot and it's to learn when people are laughing at you or laughing with you. The times one stereotypes themselves or others even in good fun there's this belief that it will only be an inside joke that the people in the circle are the only one's who'll laugh. Only the people in the circle will know it's funny.
If I speak about DID in regards to Mikoto's case I expect people who know Milgram to get it. That doesn't mean I only expect people who know Milgram to see it. A person can never know who will come across their work or what they'll take from it. I'm not saying this to go write with a thousand disclosure for safety.
Because that's stupid. Plus, even if one does that someone can still take another person wildly out of context. I'm simply saying things may go better if we all write with the recognition that we are not the only person to exist in the world. To read back our writing before posting it and ask how would I feel coming across this if it was said about something important to me, am I have an imaginary fight in my head, am I feeling attacked or a certain way right now and acting defensively due to that.
Do I need to post this or do I need to talk to friend?
For me it took a while to figure out that balance in an online space. Plus, I am no way above getting incensed. Yet, learning how to cope with the things that incensed me and not be so kneejerk about it took a while. Especially when at sometimes I do just want to be able to experience that moment with worrying about how I may come off.
It took sometime to recognize there are things more important to me than how I come off but I do a disservice to those things by discussing them inconsiderately. If that makes sense. It took me a while to figure out how much I could care for others without disregarding myself by smoothing out my opinions too much to find the most acceptable way to phrase them.
I don't think anyone has to fully change themselves or how they speak to simply consider other people. I don't think there should need to be a lot disclosures or prefaces for people to recognize when a person is speaking personally or individually. I think people can rightfully tell when it comes to certain things people are speaking more from personal experience then broadly even if they speak in broad terms if they extend the benefit of the doubt.
However, it's become increasingly more common for people to speak generally about incredibly subjective things. Not in a this is how it is for some individuals way but this is absolutely how it is. This is how autism is, this is how adhd is, this is how alters are and dormancy this is the one absolute way and I don't make the rules this is just how it's always been- And this is how gender works. It's a spectrum and we should accept everyone as long as they fit the rigid criteria of what being on that spectrum means.
When oddly enough the actual study of psychiatry isn't even that rigid or at least shouldn't be taken so rigidly in my opinion. Certainly psychiatry, the mental healthcare system and its institutions over the years has added to the stigmatization of mental health issues. But ultimately psychiatry should be an individualistic practice that meets the people seeking treatment where they're at and nonjudgmentally. That's the best case scenario and rarely how it works in practice which is something I recognize but the study of psychiatry itself is vastly intriguing but like many studies can be used by individuals to cement their preexisting biases.
I really like all of the Milgram characters there are interpretations I have of them that I know for certain many may disagree with or take personal offense to. Yet, when I run into these generalizations and reduction of mental health issues when seeing discussion of things that do matter a great deal to me it can be kind of funny, pretty nice to see how interested in knowing more about mental health the younger generation is, hopeful a little, but also isolated.
Because it's a bit of a social divide created by age. I hope this doesn't come off offensively but it seems like a lot of things people pushed heavily for are taken for granted by a lot of folks regardless of age now a days. A lot of things that so many talk about openly now were considered taboo not even three decades ago.
So, when I hear things like these traits mean you're this I can't help feeling like it's no different from being in school where people would go you dress like this so I got called a slur for a butch lesbian I think you can guess which one. That or I hear the same reasoning people used to state kids with diagnoses of any kind should really be in their own schools for their benefit. Kids should be around other kids like them.
Plus another part me can't help simply wanting to go, "Keep fucking around like you know people better than they know themselves and speaking in absolutes- One day some of y'all may succeed in getting yourselves absolutely ended. Don't presume to tell others how they should feel about themselves, how their diagnoses impact them, and what having the diagnoses should actually look like."
Because honestly people have to go through enough shit. It makes sense to want to find community with people who experience things in ways similar to oneself. I think in a lot of ways Milgram has showcased the prisoners desire for the same thing and the struggles they have with isolation.
This is done very well through Mikoto's characterization. Plus, I feel like how his DID has been discussed on a fandom level has perfectly reflected the reasons I personally have trouble discussing certain diagnoses and people's immediate inclination to reduce individuals to said diagnosis. Even though these things rarely encompass the full person.
Overall, I was just musing and complaining. Yet, if there is one thing I want people to take away from this is. Not to be ashamed about considering the experiences of others. It's not that hard and people don't have to add prefaces and disclosures to do it. If one just acts with recognition that others are alive and have their own experiences it's something that will start occurring naturally.

Hey! Do you think you could write something along the lines of a secret relationship trope? With a non-binary reader who is in the cast (a random background role of sorts) and it’s just them being somewhat flirty on stage? Like during the drive in scene, Daryl and reader would be dancing around as their characters and the rest of the cast catches on then? Not sure if this makes sense but if you can write it it’d be awesome!
Thanks and have a wonderful day/night :)
Authors Note: yes ofc anon! I love this idea so much!!
Dance with me?
Daryl Tofa x nonbinary!reader

The drive-in scene wasn’t supposed to be anything special. Just a backdrop of neon lights, cars parked in rows, and the sound of distant music as the actors and extras milled around, going through their marks. But for you and Daryl It was everything.
You’d both managed to keep your little secret for months now—casual glances, small smiles, the briefest brush of fingers whenever you thought no one was looking. It started innocently enough, a shared laugh between you both after a particularly grueling rehearsal. But then came the way Daryl’s gaze lingered just a little too long when he looked at you, or the way you’d catch him sneaking over to your side of the set to “check on something,” but you both knew it was just an excuse to talk.
No one else seemed to catch on—at least not at first. You weren’t sure if it was because you both were so careful or because your chemistry was so effortless that it felt almost too natural to be noticed. Either way, you’d managed to keep it just between the two of you.
Tonight was different. The scene called for a drive-in dance, something light-hearted and playful. You and Daryl were paired up as part of the number, with the two of you dancing around as in the background in the midst of it all. You’d rehearsed it a hundred times, laughing and twirling in between takes, trying to keep it professional.
But tonight, the energy between you and Daryl felt… different. There was an undercurrent, a silent tension that neither of you could quite ignore.
The music blared up from the pit, and the first few bars of the song echoed across the set. Daryl grinned as he nudged you, his voice low but playful. “You ready to really show them what we’ve got?”
You glanced at him, a teasing glint in your eyes. “Only if you can keep up, Tofa.”
His smile was all mischievous charm as he took your hand, guiding you into the first step of the dance. The choreography was simple—twirls, spins, a couple of hip shakes here and there—but it wasn’t the moves that had you both so caught up. It was the way your bodies seemed to naturally align, the way you couldn’t help but grin every time your fingers brushed.
You spun, your back pressed briefly against his chest as the music picked up speed. The subtle closeness had your heart racing, and from the way Daryl’s eyes glinted as he caught your gaze, you could tell he was feeling it too.
“You’re making this too easy,” Daryl murmured, his breath warm against your ear as he twirled you again, pulling you into another spin.
Your laugh was soft, but there was something in the way your hand lingered on his shoulder, the way your fingers traced small circles on his skin, that made it clear: you were no longer just performing.
You weren’t just playing the characters now. The dance felt like a secret, like the whole world around you had faded away, leaving just the two of you locked in your own little bubble.
The others began to take notice. A couple of them shot you sidelong glances, exchanging knowing looks when they saw the way Daryl would laugh just a second too long at your jokes or how your hands would linger just a bit too long on each other’s arms. It was a game—this dance, this chemistry—but they were starting to pick up on it.
“Do you think—?” Sean whispered to Tilly, nodding subtly toward you and Daryl.
“Yeah, I think it’s pretty obvious,” she replied, her tone light but with a hint of curiosity. “Did you see the way he smiled at them just now?”
You and Daryl were so caught up in your own world that you didn’t notice the whispers spreading. You didn’t hear the soft chuckles from the crew members watching on the sidelines, and you definitely didn’t catch the way the rest of the cast exchanged glances when they saw how easily you both interacted.
“Alright, alright,” one of the main cast members—Joshua who played Dallas Winston—called out with a smirk as the music hit a lull. “You two want to let the rest of us in on the joke, or…?”
Daryl froze, mid-step, his hand still resting at the small of your back. Your face flushed, heat rushing to your cheeks as the sudden attention hit you both.
“What do you mean?” Daryl asked, his voice smooth but the tiniest bit flustered.
Joshua raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. “Oh, come on. The dance? The looks? You two have been all over each other since we started rehearsing. We’re not blind, you know.”
The cast around you started to laugh, teasing and nudging each other. The murmurs started to grow louder, and you could feel the heat of a thousand eyes on you and Daryl.
You looked at Daryl, who met your eyes with an expression somewhere between embarrassed and amused. For a split second, it felt like the entire world had stopped moving.
“Well, what can we say?” Daryl said finally, his grin widening, though he seemed a little sheepish now. “We’re just really good dancers.”
The comment earned a few chuckles, but the way he kept his hand firmly on your lower back, the way you didn’t pull away from him, made it clear that the whole “just dancing” explanation didn’t quite add up.
You shrugged casually, playing along. “Yeah, I guess we’ve been getting… a little carried away.” You threw a wink at Daryl, and for a moment, the teasing from the rest of the cast died down, replaced by an air of understanding.
“Oh, so it’s like that,” Renni said with a laugh, raising his hands in mock surrender. “Alright, alright, we get it. You two keep your secrets. But just know—everyone saw it.”
The tension between you and Daryl was still there, but now, it was a little lighter. The secret was out, at least to the cast, but you didn’t mind. It was almost fun, in a way—knowing that your chemistry had been so obvious to everyone around you, even if it took a little teasing to get there.
Daryl shot you one last grin, his fingers lightly brushing against your side. “Guess we’re not as secret as we thought, huh?”
You laughed softly, still feeling that rush of adrenaline from the shared moment. “Guess not. But I think I’m okay with that.”
The music kicked back up, and the scene continued. But now, every glance exchanged between you and Daryl held a new level of meaning—one that the rest of the cast had caught onto, whether they wanted to admit it or not. And as the night wore on, it felt less like a secret and more like a quiet celebration. The cast may have caught on, but you and Daryl? You were still the only ones who knew the true depth of it.

Multiples of 5 for 911 for the fandom asks
(Also the sertraline tag is so right. There is no correct time to take it. It’s up to the universe, which also wants us dead)
5. something you see in fics a lot and love
Buck’s random facts. I feel like it’s easy to boil him down as a “goofy himbo idiot” character but he very much has the most insane random facts snbdnqndks so when I see that in fic I’m like YESSSSSSS
10. a blog (mutual or one you follow) that has made your fandom experience brighter
Literally you 💞💞 like. You ARE my 911 go to gal slash nonbinary pal!!! The pinnacle of fandom experience is sending UNHINGED “okay but imagine—” messages about Buck and Eddie being ab…normal. about each other and there is genuinely no other person i love doing that with more than you! Sure I could scream into the void but the void doesn’t scream back and isn’t nearly half as hilarious as you
15. the character that always makes you smile
TAKE A WILD FUCKING GUESS
God I’m such a useless bisexual I read this prompt, started thinking about Buck and just started GIGGLING UNCONTROLLABLY babygirl they don’t even have words for the kind of mental illness this man has given me 💞
LOOK AT HIM!!!!!!!!! HE IS LITERALLY A HIMBO! HE RESEARXHES NATURAL DISASTERS! HE CANONICALLY CALLED UP ALL HIS EXES TO MAKE SURE HE SATISFIED THEM SEXUALLY! HE IS EVEN BISEXUAL! THEY DONT MAKE EM LIKE EVAN BUCKLEY!
20. Your very first fandom!
Glee! Fun fact: I discovered fanfiction by googling ‘klaine and finchel deleted scenes’ and it took me to ff.net, and this fic was at a beach house with all four of them and I fully thought it was canon! Up until the point where they started having sex and k was like UM I DONT THINK THIS IS HOW IT WENT DOWN
25. a piece of advice for taking care of yourself in fandom spaces
I think the biggest piece of advice I can give is: remember why you love the media. There’s no harm in acknowledging its shortcomings sure, but getting bogged down in the way you want it to be, or the way you think it should be, will only make you associate this thing you use to adore with disappointment. Haterism in moderation only.
Enjoy what’s in front of you, and if you don’t? Maybe reconsider if this fandom is really doing anything for you. Also don’t forget to mmmm block out the haters

It's interesting to talk about her again, but under a new lens.
Some way, somehow, men can experience the oppression that comes from being born with a vagina by growing their hair out and wearing a dress.
If I knew it was that easy to experience misogyny, then no wonder I and so many other women identified as men or nonbinary as a way to escape reality. But identifying as a man didn't make people suddenly treat me like I was a man online or in person.
None of the men Benjanun surrounds herself with would identify as women if it was 1930. Although, there were a few who did, it's actually because they were gay men who thought there was something seriously wrong with them for being same sex attracted and thus sought SRS to "fix" them. This is the actual history of transitioning and the same practice is done today and state sanctioned in countries like Iran, where homosexuality is illegal, but being trans is legal because they see it as a cure to homosexuality. Just like Herschfield.
"Hirschfeld sought to specialize in sexual health, an area of growing interest. Many of his predecessors and colleagues believed that homosexuality was pathological, using new theories from psychology to suggest it was a sign of mental ill health. Hirschfeld, in contrast, argued that a person may be born with characteristics that did not fit into heterosexual or binary categories and supported the idea that a 'third sex' (or Geschlecht) existed naturally. Hirschfeld proposed the term 'sexual intermediaries' for nonconforming individuals. Included under this umbrella were what he considered “situational” and 'constitutional' homosexuals—a recognition that there is often a spectrum of bisexual practice—as well as what he termed 'transvestites.' This group included those who wished to wear the clothes of the opposite sex and those who 'from the point of view of their character' should be considered as the opposite sex. One soldier with whom Hirschfeld had worked described wearing women’s clothing as the chance 'to be a human being at least for a moment.'"
"Article"
The rest of this article is sheer illiterate idiocy. Herschfield thought that being gay was a third sex. Yet people ignore this so they can delusionally believe Herschfield believed in nonbinary people. No, he believed in making gay men into straight women and making lesbians into straight men. It literally says it right where I highlighted it, but that is too inconvenient to digest.

I like the Kusakabe transfem HC because:
1 it is nice seeing an (comparatively) older and masc-looking character being HCed as transfem
2 I think Kasumi and Mechamaru were one of the first trans kids that she knew (she just brushed it off as a "younger kids thing"), then (in the case of the Eriverse) she met people like Gwen, Yu and Ilma(a bit younger than her/around the same age range) (she might've even been encouraged by people who are trans but never physically transitioned, like Shoko)
3 It would explain to some extent why she is quite cowardly although she is strong (she kept running away from all her problems)
1). I do also love the idea of older people/characters transitioning! I think I had a thought, or at least an ask, where Miguel O'hara was a transwoman but was jut really butch which I do still like a lot! She would also have started her transition later in life similar to Kusakabe in this instance! (I honestly need to think of some more late life transition HCs for characters because I already have some early and mid life transitioning HCs and OCs).
2). To add on to this, I would love it if Satoru also brought her to NSR and showed her people who were much older than her who are also trans/non binary (Nova, Neon J, and Tatiana). If I do end up going with butch tanswoman Miguel, then Catherine can also introduce her to Kusakabe as well (or even just talk about her late husband who I think would dress femininely sometimes but still identified as a man so that Kusakabe might be more comfortable at the start of her transition to dress more feminine if that is what she wants to do).
Then Kento can also introduce Dodo, Sofa, and Remi to Kusakabe, as they are all some kind of flavor of trans or nonbinary. Especially Dodo who would still be crossdressing later in his life.
Literally Kusakabe will have all these people and influences in her life now thanks to her connections, so at any point if she feels like she is out of place or doing something wrong then she will most likely have someone who did or knows someone who did something similar!
3). I actually really like that analysis of her character! She just ran away from her mental problems (probably with substances like smoking and drinking). Which manifested physically to her running away from real life problems or taking the easy way out (going into something she was naturally gifted in such as swords to not have to try as hard but in the end still put a lot of effort into swords and her body to try and fun away unconsciously from her trans thoughts).
So once she started to stand up to some of these problems (quitting smoking) she could begin tackling other things such as her constantly recurring thought about being a woman. Because she ran away so much from those ideas though, she built her body as masculine as she could and now feels kinda hopeless in transitioning later in life.
Since she was doing most of her life alone, she thought she would have to do her transition alone, which was very close to making her just not even attempt to transition. But thankfully she has great friends and students who want to see her succeed and allowed her to face this part of her life much easier!

HELLP i'd be so happy to i love talking about forsaken meta!!
so first off i'll get the easy stuff out of the way: chance and two time nonbinary. they - in this patch actually i think - got nonbinary pride skins!!
chance has also been regularly been referred to with he/they in discord patch and devlog notes, and here's the specific proof of them - and noob + 1x1 + 666 are queer:

^^ note the creative freedom mention i WILL bring it back up in a second.
for the specific any pronouns i could find. elliot is the only one i could find.

which is a small problem!! because there IS a screenshot, confirming that they use any pronouns, but i can't find it!! which is a problem!!
for some context: forsaken is a more recent game, having been out since christmas. it's only recently gotten a REALLY big following a few months ago, meaning there's a big demand for canon information. however, it's still a more recent phenomenon!! meaning, instead of being hosted on something like mirahaze, or wiki.gg; it's hosted on fandom wiki.
and it being on fandom wiki specifically is bad, frankly. it's an ad-ridden website that most, if not anyone, can edit anytime. this leads to vandalism on wiki pages way more often than most other wiki sites, both lighthearted in nature and actively malicous. I can confidently tell you that i have seen this screenshot, i've discussed it with a friend, and i know it's out there, but due to it not being on the wiki i cannot provide you with it. fandom wiki is a very good resource for getting the lore, don't get me wrong. it is a LOT more well-kept than most fandom-wikis i've seen in my time. but i really wish it had the professionalism and the accessibility that phighting and regretevator's mirahazes have. it is a FRONT PAGE GAME on roblox, and many people still don't know very important story information due to it being hosted on fandom.
however, i can in fact provide proof that he/they is used for other survivors!!! one of my main poitns in my original tags were that they used they/them along with the characters 'typical' pronouns to indicate neutrality/that you can use any pronouns for them.
"Previously infamous for their exploits, he had a change of heart after gaining a son," -007n7 bio
"Guest 1337 braces for impact, applying Resistance V (aka Invincibility) for 1s and has their movement speed reduced by 80% for 2s." -guest 1337's block ability
"After Elliot heals any player, except for other Elliots, they gain a charge for this ability." -elliot's rush hour ability
the most noticable of these he/they pronouns is dusekkar: they/them is used for dusekkar 3 times, which is two more times than the average survivor.
two time is used with they/them in their bio and abilities. and chance's abilities.... only use he/him for chance. meaning that most players, when getting into the fandom side, will ONLY know that chance uses he/him and not realize that chance is, in any way, nonbinary. DUSEKAR uses more they/he than the CANONICAL nonbinary character with those pronouns.
and this segways into a problem i have with forsaken: they need to make it more obvious that their characters are queer and can be interpreted as queer if its ambigous. this is a roblox game, yes, some people in your audience will NOT be open to viewing them like that. but it's your responsbilty to ward them away within your game. yes, the pride skins are appriciated, their bios are funny, but you need to be more OPEN about that.
most people i've corrected about the pronoun situation have been very kind and understanding. it's why the "im two time and my pronouns are they/them" is such a popular meme in the community. but there are going to be people who do not respond to other peopel correcting them as kindly. there are queer people who will be yelled at and degraded for simply correcting another player, and letting them know that there's queer people in the game they're playing.
forsaken is an indie game, yes, but it's also like??? bare minimum expectation??? for them to make something very important about a character more obvious??? chance is not a man he is a nonbinary person. they are not some "greedy money hungry MAN whos a WEASEL of a MAN" they are a nonbinary person!!!!! them being nonbinary talks about their personality a lot more than if they were a cis/ambigous man!!!!
same with two time: a lot of the same people who misgender two time, directly or not, also mischaracterize them. they are not a creepy guy, they are not operating on the pretenses of the "creepy male cult leader" sterotype, because they're NONBINARY. they're a queer person experiencing trauma, and that's something to consider when discussing their character.
^^ they are planning to add skins, presumably in the illusive noli update, but still. it's been nearly 7 months since the game's release, and yet the cast being queer-coded is still not public knowlege. i still see people suprised that 1x1 and noob are genderfluid and he/him them like crazy. and by proxy i do not see anyone putting two and two together about shedletsky being queercoded bc of his relation to 1x1, DAWG...
so uhm yeah. wwe are gaysaken
Hello everybody for tonight I bring you
He/They Guest 1337. thanks for coming to my TED talk
#forsaken roblox#this really wouldve come quicker if i didnt make like a countertop and marble over not finding the image in question#like i was checking EVERY wiki citation dude ITS OKAY. DUSEKAR THEY/HE PROVING MY POINT IS RIGHT THERE.#theres also the fact that they're using they/he and not. she/they/he#how are they/he more 'neutral' than like. they/she. or just they/them.#idk its bonkers. thank youf or being patient and giving me time to get my source saluting emoji

Hey! So, I said I might make a list of Fire Emblem modding links, so here it is! Before anything, be sure you have a hacked 3DS so you can mod your games. You can load mods directly onto a hacked 3DS OR you can use a hacked 3DS to dump your games and play them on an emulator.
If you haven't hacked your 3DS yet, follow this guide to do so! It's easy and super safe!
I would highly recommend using a hacked 3DS as citra was taken down. Of course, if you can find a branch of citra to use or another emulator, feel free to try. Just be aware that emulators can be demanding and not all games function great.
Now, as for game modding, here are a few of my favorite things to use as well as some interesting mods others enjoy. Feel free to share mods you enjoy and I'll add them to this list.
General Modding
Paragon - This in and of itself is not a mod. However, if you're interested in dipping your toes in trying to create your own mods, this is a good starting point! This tool provides you with a friendly user interface to mess with the code of the game and create your own custom mods (don't worry, you don't need to know how to code).
Fire Emblem Awakening
Unofficial Gay Awakening - As the name says it adds gay supports in Awakening. I can't really add anything here.
Project Thabes - This is an overhaul of Awakening, akin to a sort of remix. The idea is fixing up some issues with story, rebalancing, and remixing maps. Definitely an interesting project to check out if you want a fresh experience with the game.
Twin Morgans - Y'know. If you want double the Morgan. :)
Reverse Recruitment Order - Excluding Chrom, Robin, and Lucina, all units are obtained in reverse order. Something fun to mix up your game.
Fates Stances - If you came to really love the stance system in Fates, good news! This mod implements the stance system into Awakening. Yeah, it's less broken, but way more fun.
Gender-Lock Removal - You want male pegasus knights and female barbarians? Here they are. Need I say more?
Gender Neutral Robin - For the fellow nonbinary gamers who wish for a gender neutral experience. A mod that removes all gendered text for Robin, turning it gender neutral.
Sexualization Removal - Women now have pants :)
No Ambush Reinforcements - The worst part of playing Awakening on any difficulty outside normal is that enemies act the same turn they spawn. This mod removes of that ridiculous (and honestly unfair) mechanic.
Fire Emblem Fates
Unofficial Gay Fates - It's as the name says: a mod to add gay supports to Fates. Though it's not just gay, it also generally adds additional supports between characters.
Ignis - This is a Fates randomizer that allows you to customize your own experience. This can randomize recruitment order, chest/village items, skills, classes, stats, and so on. I've been using this for years, so I can vouch for its fun and stability.
Fates HD - Just a mod to upscale textures. Meant for people playing the game on citra, not hardware.
Before Fates - This mod is currently a work in progress, but it's meant to expand the backstory in Fates. While it's incomplete, it's definitely worth keeping an eye on.
Fates Retranslation+ - If you kinda hate the translation of Fates, good news! This mod retranslates the entire game to better match the original Japanese version. It also adds some minor patches, but the idea of this mod is to fix the English translation.
Princess Personals - Legendary weapons for the princesses. Because they earned it. :)
Non-Binary Corrin - For all my non-binary pals out there, someone made a mod to make all references to Corrin gender-neutral. (Note: the mod creator is remaking the mod due to some issues.)
Playable Lilith - Do you love Lilith? Sad that she's stuck being killed off in routes and is otherwise unplayable? Well, this mod adds her as a playable character. Do it for her.
Face-Lift - This mod does some edits to characters to update things like skin tones and eye colors to look more natural/better match parents (like giving Benny darker skin rather than grey skin). It has a regular version for hardware and HD version for citra users who like having the HD mod.
Sexualization Removal - Women can finally have pants :)
Kana Promotion Outfits - A personal favorite of mine: this mod gives Kana actual unique promotion outfits. Their silly little bandana will never leave us.
Everything is Silver - Unlike the other Fates mods here, this is just a silly little challenge mod I made. It gives every weapon the silver weapon flag, causing them to debuff you after combat. It's a fun challenge run that may force you to come at the game from a new angle.
Fire Emblem Echoes
Route Swap - Just a funky little mod that swaps the two parties. So now Celica and crew are on Alm's journey and vice versa.
Model + Texture Overhaul - This mod does small fixes to texture errors and inconsistencies as well as adding some new unique models.
Echoes: RG Edition - This mod adds some new classes including a player axe user class. The additional classes can make an interesting new experience for players, not to mention this mod adds some new difficulty to the game.
Playable Berkut and Fernand - As stated in the title, you'll be able to use Berkut and Fernand should you so desire.
7-Eleven Collab Enabler - Are you aware of the Japan-only limited time 7-Eleven collab with SoV? Well, if you weren't now you are. And you can access these items.
Gender-lock Removal - Gender locked classes have always been an issue in Fire Emblem. But now you can remove that restriction with this mod. Not only are classes unrestricted, but the Ram Village boys now have a triangle attack.
Installing Mods
3DS
Assuming your 3DS is hacked, you should be using luma to mod games. Once you have your mod files, installing them is extremely easy. Load up your SD card and go into luma > titles and create a folder with the corresponding title id to your game.
Once you have a folder for your game, drop the mod files within (remember to unzip them, and they should be a romfs folder). If done correctly, it should look something like this.
There's one final step before you run your modded game, though! Reinsert your SD card in your 3DS and then hold SELECT while powering the console on. The luma config menu should come up. Select "Enable game patching" then press START to save.
You only ever have to do this luma step once. So once you've enable game patching, you can freely switch out mods on your 3DS and they'll run automatically. If you want to disable mods, either delete them from your SD card or disable game patching.
Citra
Just like with hardware, modding games on citra is extremely easy. All you have to do is open citra, right click the game you want to mod, and click "Open Mods Location" from the menu like below.
This will create/open a mod folder for the title you selected. Just like on the 3DS, all you have to do is insert your mod folder here. It should be inside a romfs folder like below.
If you did everything correctly, then your mods should take effect when you next run your game on citra.
#fire emblem#3ds modding#long post#if y'all need any more modding tutorials or w/e feel free to ask#i've been modding my 3ds for years at this point#and on citra by extension for a while#so i'll gladly answer any questions y'all have#and i've dabbled in making my own mods#so i can help a bit with that too

Rue:
Submitted for: Skyblock Kingdoms
Headcanons: Identity not specified, pronouns not specified
Propaganda: “Her whole character arc is a metaphor for being trans! She realized she wasn't who she was told she was and then chose her own name and made friends who saw her as HER! They're so special and wonderful and transgender!!”
THEYRE A CLONE OF A GUY WHO USES ALL PRONOUNS. THEY USE SHE/THEY PRONOUNS! THEY WERE TRAGICALLY KILLED BY THEIR ORIGINAL'S WIFE (possessed) AND DESERVE A WIN!!”
“Rue is not just played by a trans person and a trans allegory, but a canonical trans character, and she deserves all the love in this world. Rue means a lot to [the submitter] as a whole, and her discovery of how she could be her own person without having to be who people expected her to be made [them] want to sob loudly.”
BigBSt4tz2:
Submitted for: Evo SMP, Third Life, Last Life, Double Life, Limited Life, Secret Life, Wild Life
Headcanons: Trans man, he/they
Propaganda: “The vibe. They're so trans man coded. Like he would use a binder in the life series and, like, for example, Pearl would help him with it in Limited life, or Ren would help them cut their hair in Double life if he felt like being less gender ✨ He's just so trans man 😩 VOTE BIGB.”
“BigB's username literally has t4t in it. He's not cis [the submitter’s] sorry.”
“BigB deserves to go all the way to the end of this poll because the primary life series fandom's somewhat casual disregard of him makes [the submitter] so upset, and all the trans headcanons for him fill [them] with infinite joy <3 It's gotten a lot better over the years, but [they] feel he still deserves so much more recognition for all his good work.”
“No person who makes their base the backrooms deserves to be cis. That gas lighting with the hole could easily also be about gender.
Grian: What's your gender?
BigB: Oh, like pretty masc.
(Five seconds later)
Scar: So, like, what's your gender, BigB?
BigB: None.
Grian: ??????”
Ethoslab:
Submitted for: Hermitcraft, Third Life, Last Life, Double Life, Limited Life, Secret Life, Wild Life
Headcanons: Agender, they/them; Transfem, she/her; Nonbinary, he/they/she; Nonbinary, they/he/it; Identity not specified, ladder/ladderself
Propaganda: “[The submitter] just think[s] she deserves boobies. [They] think they would be good for her. And also it's because [they] understand the way the universe flows and the nature of all things.”
“[Quote from Etho:]‘I’m ice man also, also the ice Queen […] yep, yep both in one.’ Etho has compared himself to a pretty girl before. ‘That’s me on the inside, beautiful, but on the outside it’s just this.’ (He’s talking about Falsesymmetry’s hermit head, a female head). Bigender, genderfluid, or genderqueer Etho trust trust trust.”
“T4T cletho. They’re both nonbinary and divorced (in an active relationship) and take turns on who's the ex wife and who's the ex husband.”
“When [the submitter] first joined hermitblr, [they were] genuinely confused about Etho’s gender for a bit because of the sheer amount of people on here that she/her him. [They] love it. Live your dreams.”
“Etho (ftm) but can be feminine. [The submitter] think[s] his vest is equal to the famous oversized trans hoodie (but with style).”
Evil Xisuma:
Submitted for: Hermitcraft
Headcanons: Transmasc Demi-boy, he/they
Propaganda: Canonically uses he/they
“Their voice is deepened by a voice changer, even though they wear the same helmet as Xisuma, which could hint at them purposefully adding a voice changer in order to have a deeper voice.”
“Evil Xisuma bites you if you misgender them (They also bite you if you properly gender them) (They bite).”

The devil may work fast...But my ass on hyperfixation mode works faster-
Soooo… i made an oc in less than 24 hours… again.
Welcome Home is by @partycoffin
-
Name - Sterling Starr
Age - ??? (They're a Young Adult)
Gender - Nonbinary
Pronouns - They/She/It
Voice Claim - Garnet (Steven Universe)
Other info -
- One of the newest neighbors to the neighborhood!
- Is friendly, but isn't too social and is more shy compared to a lot of the current residents, usually not one to go up to people
- An artist, mostly paints but has been seen just drawing before too, mostly paints landscapes and night skies… but occasionally will draw the other neighbors
- A normal site at this point to see Sterling just painting or drawing outside somewhere.
- In the show they'd be in charge of explaining nature and space, like… for example they'd explain how trees and plants grow to the kids (in a way kids would understand of course).
- Eventually gains a kinda "big sibling" vibe on the show to everyone, characters (especially Sally) and viewers alike.
- Absolutely gets along with Sally, they may be the very different personality wise but they get along
- Sometimes Sterling goes with Sally on adventures
- Easy to make laugh, like… shockingly so, which would lead to probably be one of Barnaby's favorite people to make laugh or at least a target to tell jokes to
- They'd get along with Frank (and Julie) honestly but wouldn't hang out on a regular basis but it is a friendly kinda deal.
- Honestly Sterling would have that kinda behavior with everyone, may not hang out on a regular but is friendly
- Sterling would be friendly with Wally and Home, but SomETHING iS WRong wITH bOTh OF thEM, StERLInG cAn FEel IT
-
Proof of arts under the cut!

If it's not too much, can I ask for a short summary on each universe (that you're currently working on)? I know glitter and guilt is about magical girls and monstrum and falling in love, but what about beanstalked? and that one with that shape shifty guy, pluto was it? (love your work btw!!)
Thank you and Sure!
But to start I have to clarify that I refer to stuff differently from you guys. I know it's common for people to refer to each story as it's own story universe but I call each story a "world" as they all take place in the same story universe. Because canonically, Glitter and Guilt, Beanstalked, and Bondwidth all take place on separate planets but are in the same universe so they do over lap with each other sometimes
AND NOW FOR THE super easy part actually where I just copy and paste the summaries from Instagram:
Beanstalked follows a farm boy named Jack who lives on Lore, a world where a celestial centennial event assigns people with the roles of fairy tales from our world, and his life after discovering he is part of the newest generation.
A generation that is especially unlucky when a petty ink fairy decides to mess with the natural order of things.
During the struggle, characters run into the conflict of deciding if their happy endings are worth the sacrifice compared to the happy lives they've made for themselves while off the story paths assigned to them. In Jack's case, he winds up falling in love with a lupine girl in red known as Nana who has been assigned Little Red Riding hood, actively going against the predetermined ending of his own story.
Bondwidth follows Pluto, nonbinary cyborg made out of alien tech and Nova, a human and alien cat hybrid (aka a catgirl) as they live their lives working their demanding jobs in futuristic space city on a manmade planet.
After a complete "by chance meeting", and learning they both having painful pasts they'd love to forget, the two wind developing an interesting friends with benefits relationship that ends up sprouting into genuine healing love for each other.
Glitter and Guilt follows Sweetheart, a 20-something magical girl in college, who's dealing with working solo as a hero in the fictional city of Decking, located in the 52nd state of the USA, while coping with the guilt of her team breaking apart during high school after the death of their team member, Angel.

I love your fanfic!!! I love how soft and cute the 1897 gang are!!!!!! Aksbaksbakaksmsksksns 🥺💕
What are some plans you have for the fic? Will there be any lgbt or neurodiverse headcanons in the fic?
AWEE YAY THANK YOU!! 💕💕 This means so much I got so happy seeing this notification aaa!! I’m glad you love the 87 boys,,
Also aa thank you for asking! (this. Turned into such a long answer I’m so sorry for rambling AHA)
One big plan I feel comfortable talking about is that I am going to send the remaining 2012 boys to Rise soon! I feel like that’s not too spoilery, both because it’s something that will happen soon and something that was kind of inevitable pfft. I have some cute moments for them to all get to bond, I have a big overarching plot and stakes I want to introduce? But I also really just want to have a ton of fun moments and focus on everyone getting to know each other. I want to try write interactions or dynamics I haven’t seen been done much yet, so hopefully I deliver! (I actually scripted out a 12!Raph and Rise!Leo scene for in future this morning pfft)
Another thing I guess there’s no harm in saying is that I want 87!Shredder and 87!Krang to really play a main part in this! They’re the versions of those characters I find the most fun/easy to write, so at least for the beginning stages they’re going to be focused on antagonistic forces. I just think they’re so goofy I love their dynamic sooooo much, and they fit my writing style perfectly! So expect them in future eheh
That’s not to say Rise and 2012 villains won’t get a centre focus at any point though! Rise has such a fun rogues gallery and with 2012, I really want to play with the domino affect, I mean taking the turtles out of the picture right before so many major things has gotta have some consequences~ (they don’t even know April’s part Krang yet…)
When it comes to LGBT headcanons, I do definitely have some! Technically?? I think I’ve already said that everyone is somewhere on the aroace spectrum (especially the Rise turtles) I also find the idea of 2012!Donnie and 2012!Leo being nonbinary in some form sweet, so I will probably have little moments about that scattered through the fic! (Also I think it would be really funny if 2012 Leo and Dee both went to other universes and then when they finally reunite they’re both not cis anymore. Spider-man pointing meme the dimensional radiation took their fucking gender-) I typically don’t think too much about this kind of thing though, I’m someone who’s LGBT+ that doesn’t bother too much with labels for themself so it’s honestly kind of hard for me to put fictional characters in a box too-but everyone definitely is in someway! That’s the best I can answer that probably
TLDR: They’re all loser teenagers who haven’t realllyyy figured themselves out yet, but they’re all pretty comfortable with whatever their identities might be, so for now they’re just gonna focus on saving the world HA
As for the neurodivergent side of things, again the whole main cast definitely is!! We all knew that though ♥️ AHSAJHA I can find traits from my own diagnosis in basically all of them, so they’re all on the spectrum! Sobs sorry this is another pretty broad answer-so to list someeeee?
I’m definitely writing all four 87 turtles and 2012!April and 2012!Raph with being autistic in mind! 2012!Donnie as well, but also apparently he does canonically has OCD?? I don’t 100% know if that’s canon, but I will be keeping that in mind while writing him as someone who also has it. 2012!Leo I headcanon along those lines too-it-see this is why it’s hard for me to answer none of these kids are neurotypical in my mind-
Sorry these were such non answers AHA, I guess the easiest answer is yes there is? But I’m genuinely happy with them all being up for interpretation! I won’t be enforcing many of my headcanons on the story really, just writing what feels natural, so you guys can interpret them however you want from there! I don’t really want to lock anyone in because I don’t want to stop people from being able to see them in ways that make them happy same as they can for the original shows
#♥️♥️♥️!! thank you for asking!!#gosh I need a tag for this fic don’t I. WHY did I make the title so long#for future reference AU

Caution: Long post! But there are treasures awaiting you, my friend...
Q&A for my OCs and fanfics is always open!
All OCs are listed with their age at their introduction
Side note: I wish I could put collapsable thingies in posts, then it wouldn't be so long
The A-Team (1983 - 1987)
A. Karma "Kit" Kelley, 24, nonbinary/genderfluid + omnisexual
Character Tag: x
Love Interest: Templeton "Faceman" Peck (Ship Tag: x)
AO3: The Changeling
Faceclaim: Kristen Stewart
The official reason for Kit's nickname within the team is because they can make incredible transformations using a makeup kit, but it's an open secret that it's also an excuse to compare her to a kitten. A former trapeze artist, she's strong, agile and decently flexible. Kit absolutely loathes being referred to as a woman unless they're consciously presenting as female for a mission (but I still mostly use she/her when writing fanfic because it's the 80s). Her most defining feature are the large birthmarks on her face, shoulder and thigh that you can see here.
The A-Team (2010)
Karma "Kit" Kelley, 20s, trans male + omnisexual
Character Tag: x
Love Interest: Templeton "Faceman" Peck
Artist, soldier, troublemaker. Hand-picked by Hannibal despite his rebellious reputation, Kit Kelley is a member of the A-Team, an elite military unit that has gone eight years, eighty successful mission. That is until a mission in Baghdad goes awry and Kit's career as well as his right to live his truth is torpedoed. With a spectacular chain of prison breakouts, the A-Team's mission to clear their names and reclaim their honor begins.
Band of Brothers (2001)
Anita Reed, cis-female + bisexual
Character Tag: x
Love Interest: Donald Malarkey
AO3: WIP!
Faceclaim: Ana de Armas
Anita is hard-working and energetic. She joined the WAC to do her part, to finally feel like what she does can move something. Her path eventually leads her to working as a parachute rigger in Aldbourne, England. There, she meets the paratroopers of Easy Company, which is bound to change her life forever.
Descendants (2015 - )
Diana, 15, cis-female, pansexual
Character Tag: (x)
Faceclaim: India Eisley
Diana is the daughter of Diaval and maybe the worst villain on the Isle - meaning she's horrible at being a villain. She just can't help it, it's in her nature to be kind-hearted. While her father is proud of her for it and her friends at the very least tolerate it, others aren't as happy about it. Among those is Maleficent. When Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay are invited to Auradon, she sends Diana with them, transformed into a pet blackbird, as a last chance to prove her worth as a villain.
Claire Frollo, 16, lesbian
Character Tag: x
Faceclaim: Renée Rapp
Claire Frollo is rebellious and anything but religious, but she'd be lying if she said the imagery of it all didn't appeal to her.
Ghostbusters (1984)
Chandrah (all pronouns)
Character Tag: (x)
Faceclaim: Anthony Turpel (male), Juno Temple (female)
Chandrah is a demon, summoned by some kids in the middle of a parking lot. Now trapped in this dimension, it decides to explore a little, eventually stumbling upon the university lab of the doctors Spengler, Venkman and Stantz. Disguised as the human male "Charlie Drake", he befriends the three scientist, accidentally getting himself dragged into hunting his fellow spectres and undead.
Good Omens (2019 - )
Philomel, Embodiment of Love
Character Tag: x
Love Interest: Crowley & Aziraphale
Faceclaim: Jane Levy
When Philomel was born in the Garden of Eden, birds sang and they say that angels and demons were at peace for that moment alone. Crowley and Aziraphale were the first people she met and fate - or perhaps her own nature - kept sweeping her back towards them time after time throughout history. Especially after her fall (that she still believes to have been a misunderstanding), she is practically glued to them by the hip. They were with her in the beginning, so why shouldn't she stay with them until the end? And so, Philomel, known to humans as Venus Acidalia or Melanie Sapphice, proceeds to try and stop the end of the world, if anything to give her two lovers the chance to confess their love instead of having to kill each other... and because she has fallen just a little too much in love with the world herself.
Hogan's Heroes (1965 - 1971)
Viktoria "Vicky" Brandt, 24, cis-female + bisexual
Character Tag: (x or x)
Love Interest: Corporal Peter Newkirk (Ship Tag: x)
AO3: Vicky Allen
Faceclaim: Marilyn Monroe
Vicky is the wife of a young SS General... and also secretly an SOE agent by the name of Zoe Allen. To make things even more complicated, she's in a secret relationship with a prisoner at the POW camp she's working at. That's not a lie, she's working at the camp - just not actually for the Germans, but for Colonel Hogan and his Heroes.
Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer (movies, 2018 + 2020)
Helena, 13(?), cis-female
Character Tag: (x)
Faceclaim: Holly Earl
Helena grows up on a tiny island with two mountains, a smaller one and a bigger one, that has barely enough space for the houses of its residents and a train station plus rails for steam locomotive Emma. Her father Lukas is the engine driver, but her interests lie much more in reading and other quiet, precise tasks. If anyone takes over his job one day, it'll be Jim, the adoptive son of shopkeeper Ms Waas. When the king of the island declares that Emma has to leave to make space for houses for the kids for when they're adults, Lukas, Jim, Emma and Helena leave the island, beginning the adventure of their lives.
K-12 (movie, 2019)
Honey Penelope, minor, demigirl, sapphic
Character Tag: (x)
Faceclaim: Isolda Dychauk
Image: Artbreeder, edited by me
Honey is the daughter of Miss Penelope, one of the teacher's at school. Just like her mother, she never speaks, but uses her powers to change her gold necklace into the shape of words if necessary. Nobody knows whether her name is really Honey. It could just be because the liquid gold looks like honey when she transforms it.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)
I've reached the image limit 😭
Varsha Devi, ?, bisexual
Character Tag: (x)
Love Interest: Dr. Henry Jekyll
Faceclaim: Banita Sandhu
Varsha is a pure mystery to the League when they first meet her. There's something about this beautiful woman in her fine saree and jewelry that's vital to the Nautilus, but nobody knows what it is. Nobody except Nemo, of course, but he keeps his mouth shut almost as tightly as Varsha, who never speaks a word. But when everything starts falling apart in Venice, Varsha's facade, too, shatters.
M*A*S*H (1972-1983)
ENTER PICTURE HERE ONCE I'M BACK ON DESKTOP I've reached the image limit
Euphemia Iris Winchester, 20s, bisexual
Character Tag: x
Faceclaim: Amanda Fix
Iris is charming, open-minded and cheerful, beloved by practically everyone at the 4077. With how popular she is, you wouldn't think for a moment that her and the less than social Charles Winchester are related - until they start bickering and full-naming each other, of course. A known enabler of chaos, her and Hawkeye get on like fire and gasoline and if Hawkeye won't provide her with shenanigans, she'll just provide Klinger with a new dress and her jewelry instead.
Mario Universe; Mario & Luigi Series (2003 - )

Princess Sherry

Bára Heiðradóttir, physically around 16-18
Character Tag: (x)
Love Interest: Ahkmenrah
AO3: The Völva
Faceclaim: Frida Gustavsson

Le Petit Prince (TV show, 2010-2017)
Sonata (of the Utopians)
Character Tag: (x)
Faceclaim: Anna Lambe
Base by: katsu-bases (I think)
Sonata is the younger sister of the Utopians' diva Euphonia. Her voice isn't as strong or beautiful as her sister's, but she loves to write poems and songs - with magical properties!
One Piece (1997 - )
(note: Names are written in the last name - first name format; faceclaims are given just in case I need them after the live action movie comes out)
Aether Luna, 18/20, cis-female + straight
Character Tag: (x)
Love Interest: Vinsmoke Sanji (Ship Tag: x)
Faceclaim: Elle Fanning
Base by: Destinys-Heart
Luna is a moon spirit that somehow got caught up in the Straw Hat's shenanigans. Before she knew it, she fell in love with the crew and head over heels for their cook. From then on, she sticks with them like a guardian angel.
Charlotte Inari, 14/16, cis-female + ace + panromantic
Character Tag: (x)
Faceclaim: Joey King
Base by: Louane-Knight
Inari is the twin sister of Charlotte Pudding, Sanji's future fiancé. But she doesn't know all of that. Dragged away from home because of her devil fruit powers, she grows up all across the Grand Line, finally ending up with Enel and being saved by the Straw Hat Pirates. By law of her devil fruit, she has to stay with them now - and casually gives everyone a heart attack when she mentions she's Big Mom's daughter.
One Piece Live Action (2023 - )
*Curse you, image limit!*
Akaito Coraline, 18, cis-female & bisexual
Character Tag: (x)
Faceclaim: Jenna Coleman
Part of a long legacy of tailors, Cora is a childhood friend of Sanji's. She's kind, caring, and compassionate but freezes at every touch.
The Orville (2017 - )
Raevyn Caelia Maumahara, 26, cis-female + bisexual
Character Tag: (x)
Love Interest: Gordon Malloy (Ship Tag: x)
AO3: All Our Yesterdays | The Emissary
Faceclaim: Alexandra Daddario
Image: Artbreeder, edited by me
Originally Alara's successor as Chief of Security on the USS Orville (note: I made Raevyn before Talla was introduced), Raevyn is transported back in time on accident. After dealing with Pria Lavesque, Raevyn has to explain herself to the Orville crew of the past. Since there's no way to send her back to the future, she stays on board. This gives her plenty of chances to do things she was simply too late for in her original timeline or that went horribly wrong, including a fresh start on her relationship with a certain helmsman. Half terrestrial, half aquatic Tehiko, Raevyn is an excellent swimmer and has electrokinetic and telepathic abilities. Sometimes, they do her more harm than good.
Die Rosenheim-Cops (2002 - )
Eva Gardner, 31, cis-female + pan
Character Tag: (x)
Love Interest: Michael "Michi" Mohr
Faceclaim: Isis Valverde
Eva appeared out of nowhere. One morning, she just showed up and now the homicide division has an apprentice from the US. Or trainee. Assistant? Assistant seems like the most fitting word since Eva dislikes being trained and likes throwing in ideas. Sometimes a little aggressively. Aside from having a young, motivated coworker, Eva's presence has the added bonus of there being someone else besides Inspector Hansen who doesn't understand the Bavarian dialect - and of taking some work off Michi Mohr's shoulders.
Sanders Sides (2016 - )
Eve "Imagination" Sanders, basically a child but ageless, genderfae
Character Tag: (x)
Faceclaim: Keira Knightley
Eve represents Thomas's Imagination. She's not a side, but the embodiment of the concept. Thomas associates imagination with a little girl playing in a flower field, so that's why she's feminine-lloking. On top of this, Eve is also younger than any of the sides because it took Thomas a while to get an understanding for what imagination was. Everyone's little sister, Eve is also responsible for letting Thomas interact with the Sides and for the mind palace - which can sometimes lead to her getting possessed by one of them if they need more control.
Squid Game (2021 - )
Lee Byeong-ho, cis-male + gay
Character Tag: (x)
Faceclaim: Ahn Jae-hyun
Byeong-ho is an old lover friend of Sang-woo’s from Joy Investments. He used to work there in a low position until Sang-woo helped him reach his dream of becoming an actor by financing his education at university. However, this caused them to have to go into a long-distance relationship. In this time, Sang-woo went into debt and Byeong-ho fell victim to a gambling addiction, further pushing himself into debt too. They both lied to each other about this. But when they both join the Squid Game, it throws them both into turmoil.
Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987-1994)
*Once again, image limit*
K'Rala, nonbinary + pansexual
Character Tag: x
Love Interest: Tasha Yar (& others)
Faceclaim: Emma Corrin
K'Rala is half Vulcan, quarter Betazoid and quarter Aenar, making them an extraordinary telepath. But their biggest passion lies in engineering, leading them onto the Enterprise under Captain Picard. Raised under the watchful eye of their traditional Vulcan mother, K'Rala maintains a professional, logic-driven air, suppressing their telepathy and all emotions. Only one person on board can claim to have seen them genuinely smile - Chief of Security Tasha Yar, who they have some less than logical feelings for. But when that bond is tragically broken, it's up to the crew of the Enterprise to put their friend back together because nobody is alone on the starship Enterprise. Through the cracks of their grief, K'Rala emerges as a brand new person, easing into their emotions and determined to give back what love their friends gave them ten-fold.
Star Wars (1977 - )
Lan "Lani" Skywalker, 19, cis-female + aroace
Character Tag: (x)
AO3: The Rule of Three
Faceclaim: Amrita Acharia
What if the children of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidale had been triplets, not twins? And what if the third child had been raised by Ahsoka? Lani was a special case from a very young age, being the most emotional one of the twins and struggling with using the force on command. Still, she's the only one getting Jedi training throughout her teenage years. Just when she thinks she's on a great path to becoming a Jedi knight, Ahsoka disappears and Lani is left to fend for herself. Meeting her siblings again turns her life upside down and she starts losing control again. Still, her goal remains the same: All she wants is to make her father proud.
Steven Universe (2013 - 2020)
(old image, definitely needs a redo...)
Indigo Pearl, sapphic
Character Tag: (x)
Base by: TFAfangirl14
Indigo used to be a Pearl in Pink Diamond's court before her "shattering", during which she lost her owner. Upon being integrated into Blue Diamond's court, most of the pink hue was drained from her system, gaining her her signature indigo color. Due to her past of belonging to Pink, Blue kept her very close, keeping her as a second personal pearl. Wanting to take revenge for her original diamond's shattering, she ends up on Earth, becoming caught up in the Crystal Gem's business.
The Umbrella Academy (2019 - )
Kassandra Hargeeves, 30, cis-female + asexual
Character Tag: (x)
Scene Rewrites: (x)
Faceclaim: Kaya Scodelario
Kassandra, also known as Number Eight or The Seer, has the power of telepathy, with the unfortunate handicap that she can't tell anyone about any secrets she finds out. With her powers rendered mostly useless to Reginald Hargreeves, she uses them mainly to be there for her siblings and comfort them. When this becomes too much for her to handle, she leaves, but she can never let go. Years after she leaves, her father dies and the family comes together again, leading Kassandra down an emotional journey. Also, the world is ending.
Vocalization (My VoicePlay fanfic)
Evelynn Carter, 21, cis-female + bisexual
Character Tag: (x)
AO3: Vocalization
Faceclaim: Danielle Rose Russel
Image: Artbreeder
Young, childish and insecure. Those are the three words that describe little Evelynn. That is until she meets five men on the way back from a bad party. From then on, fate glues her to them and she goes from an unpopular, scared loner to a cheerful acapella singer in less than six months.

Looking at those responses, while understandable if given in good faith, I would argue that they don't seem as such. Yes, love does take place in many different ways. But it seems as if Mr.Gaiman is giving himself a cop out for not acknowledging them as textually queer in any form. It can textually be a queer love story and be acknowledged in text without using labels, but this is just not true of the show. Largely, the show makes it seems ambiguously on the cusp of something rather than acknowledging them as life partners. This is not a revolutionary act; as there are arguably a lot of shows displaying this ambiguity. You could argue that textually supernatural could be seen as such, although as you said you and I both view this as queerbait. Mr.Gaiman has also made responses before these on twitter in which he plainly stated they could not be queer, gay, or otherwise. It seems that he has disingenuously flipped his view
personally I don't understand how this could be a cop-out for neil when he has so many other "explicitly queer" characters. I just don't understand what he gains here. I also don't think it's fair to judge based on GO1 alone, since it's basically the development of their relationship into being established (for the audience).

also, it is a queer love story. like, it is and I don't understand why we're still on that.
There's a difference between the relationship itself being ambiguous in nature and the existence of an ambiguous relationship. The former is true, the latter is not in Good Omens, in my opinion. Destiel was regularly canonically backtracked and dismissed in and out of text.
This is Neil's preferred definition of queer (by his daughter).
I also think it's important to mention, in regards to "flipping his view," that he did write the show differently than the book very much intentionally. That doesn't somehow make it all wrong. Even if he somehow is ~covering his ass~ I literally don't care, it's still a queer story canonically. Supernatural covered their ass by killing Cas and shutting down fans, kind of a different ballpark here. GO2 will tell us if this truly is "revolutionary" in my opinion.
I honestly can't say that Neil is doing what I deem as best (or that he's completely innocent -- I can't know that), but I don't think there's enough of anything to say this is queerbait. I believe season 2 is where there'll be a line drawn. What side of the line A&C will be, I don't know. I'm hoping for some small narration thing like "and although they didn't give a name to their love, Aziraphale and Crowley lived their happily ever after anyways" literally something so easy and simple as that but nothing more. Anything more would be unnecessary.
I'm gonna address something different here just so I can have it all in one post, nothing at anon here. What I'm most sick of is people trying to "justify" A&C's relationship as if it isn't enough on its own. It is enough. No "they need to kiss" "they need to be say they are agender/nonbinary/aroace." "they're gay!" not if they don't call themselves that. they do not have genders, they get to make the rules. if I see one more "you cast two cis men!" I'm gonna scream. GENDER is NOT presentation. sorry they couldn't get real fucking angels. there are people you think are binary men and they look like you think binary men look like and they are not binary men. those people are real live people and walk amongst you. I sometimes consider myself one of them. There is nothing wrong with a genderless entity presenting as masc because yknow what? he has to present as fucking something and he can choose whatever he likes. it literally has nothing to do with their sexuality if they don't want it to.
