#nonbinary rant

I should not have to be an educator on all things gender just to be treated as valid. Like holy fuck I should not have to answer the question of “are you a boy or a girl” with “neither, I’m nonbinary” five times in a row because apparently “that’s not a real answer”. I should not have to listen to unhinged rants about “basic biology” to get people to stop demanding to know what’s in my pants when I refuse to tell them. I should not have to thump the Bible back at someone spouting made-up bullshit about what it says about gender (it doesn’t say fucking anything about trans people, btw, but it sure does say a lot about shoving your religion down other people’s throats — funny how they never know those verses!). I should not have to go dig up articles about third genders and gender diversity in ancient cultures and trans research from 100 years ago just so people will stop acting like I’m hopping on some new trend!!! Holy fucking shit!!! I am literally just some person going about my day, minding my own business!!! If you can’t respect basic shit like my name and pronouns then leave me the fuck alone!!!!

it is 1am and i honestly do not know or care if this makes any sense or if i just sound like im rambling abt nothing because im just so frustrated and annoyed and need to vent

i wish people never started saying “nonbinary isn’t a gender” because that’s essentially saying “gay isn’t a sexuality”

they are both umbrella terms that could be a sexuality/gender on their own but could also mean a vast array of other things that fall under that umbrella.

nonbinary is as much of a gender to some and an umbrella for others as gay is a sexuality to some and an umbrella for others.

this oversimplified generalization that nonbinary isn’t a gender has caused more harm than good as it was basically used to drill into people that enbies all fall under diet man or diet woman categories. it has caused nonbinary as a gender category to be taken less seriously because the people using it were doing so to make the point that enbies can be gaylm/lesbian (which is true) but it’s had the consequence of now everyone mentally puts enbies in the mental category of “this nonbinary dates this women so that means they’re a nb sapphic which means i should treat them like a girl probably” which makes me so…. fududndndnf /neg

it also just makes people confused about what bisexuality is too because they categorize all nonbinary people under “man” and “woman” attraction even if they are nonbinary, causing many people who fall under the bi umbrella to get mislabeled as lesbians/gaylm because they’re attracted to multiple genders just excluding one of the binary genders because no one thinks being attracted to enbies “counts” as a separate gender category because everyone is mentally telling themselves “enbies aren’t separate from man and woman” when they tell themselves “nonbinary isn’t a gender”

i am nonbinary and that is my gender. it is not the only word i use to describe my gender but it is my gender category. i am not adjacent to man or womanhood. i can not be restricted to this masc/fem binary people keep trying to put me in to make their view of gender more simple. if i dont fit your binary then make a fucking trinary idc just include me without mentally putting me into a category that erases my gender identity. stop looking at me as a diet man/woman. stop telling me my gender isn’t my gender because you don’t want to consider my gender is outside the scope of the gender binary.

if you’re a nonbinary person who doesn’t view your personal nonbinariness like this then fine but stop forcing that on me cause now i need to live with the result of the push of “nonbinary isn’t a gender” mentality and it’s really not fun. it’s really invalidating and sucks that i’m never treated like my identity exists in the same way the binary genders get to.

Hey, a blog I used to follow (nonbinary support) reblogged a post talking about how “trans men are the men of trans people” and I really advise all of y’all to stay away from them. It scared me, because I’ve been following them for some time, and they’re supposed to be for nonbinary support. You cannot support nonbinary people while also being transandrophobic. You can’t. I unfollowed them, and will probably block them like I did with another blog, a popular sex ed blog, and I’d really advise y’all to do the same. Trans men are men, but they are NOT privileged over other groups because of them being TRANS MEN. Nobody is privileged for being trans!

With Trump announcing that there are only two genders moving forward in America: I love the jokes, with the good baristas disappearing and whatnot. I really do find them funny.

The thing is, though, nonbinary people are in a way becoming illegal. As well as anyone in the transgender community. Not yet, really.

It may come to that if you are seen expressing yourself as the opposite sex from what you were born, or, in Trumps words, "conception," you will be arrested. Trump is stupid, I swear... (since everyone is proven to be female at conception).

He has also removed around 15,000 people from the military for being trans. That's 15,000 people willing to risk their LIVES for this country. It shouldn't matter if you find it confusing. It shouldn't matter if the only reason they're in the military is to raise money for gender affirming surgery. The only thing that should matter is that they are PEOPLE willing to serve their country.

The only thing confusing about people who identify as the opposite binary or out of them completely is the fact that you don't WANT to understand them.

I hate when someone misgenders me and calls me a woman so I try to correct them but they don’t know what nonbinary means so I just have to tell them “I’m not a woman”. I hate being forced to define my identity by what it’s not. It feels so shitty and it doesn’t give any idea of what I actually am but how else am I supposed to explain it to someone who has never heard of nonbinaryhood? It just sucks and I wish there was more mainstream awareness about us so that I could at least have a jumping off point to talk about what I am instead of being forced to say what I’m not. Especially because it leads other people to define me by what I’m not as well and that sucks! But what I am doesn’t make any sense to cis people and I don’t wanna have to explain the complexity and nuance of my identity every five minutes so idk what else to do except define myself to others by what I’m not. I get it, we're all fucking tired-- exhausted, even. I am, too. The president has been targetting specifically me (puerto ricans; disabled people; queers) since I was literally 12. Now he's coming for my adult life, too. You think I ain't nervous?

But I'm noticing a lot of anxiety and defeatist mentality in people a little younger than me. And a lot of privileged queers out here in New York/Jersey aren't even excited or making pride plans, even though they could be.

Fucking what?? No. This isn't the year you should sit out for! We've got WORK to do!

Jesus christ, people! We've got to grow up sometime. The older queers did not go through all that hell just for Gen Z to turn out all soft & fumble the bag like this. One "Big Beautiful Bill" and a shitty legislation & we REALLY start seeing who is/isn't a coward.

This isn't the time to speak a Republican victory into existence talking about some "they're gonna win." 'Course they will with that attitude.

Contact the political people and raise hell. Go to the festivals, marches, the pride centers, and the mutual aids if you can. Google is your friend.

Get little trinkets from queer owned businesses, even if its just one thing because they're pricey and we're broke. Support queer art, queer conversation, queer innovation, queer media, and history. Bask in all forms of love & heart that beat louder than the hands of these incapable old fucks who'll never know the feeling.

If literal loud celebration & the chaos of a pride march overstimulates you, opening some gay little book or film works, too.

Go out and have fun with your dumb gay friends if you have 'em-- queer joy is resistance, too! It could be literally just climbing trees together, Mario Kart, or getting stoned in someone's basement. If you're laughing, it's working.

Get that binder, that piece of clothing, or haircut that you want. Go on that date with your partner(s) or ask out that long time crush of yours, or bang that cute stranger; whatever.

And post about pride. Even if it's subtle.

Whatever you can access and do, revel in it this June and make the most of it. Everyone wants to act like we're all gonna die tomorrow. It's our job to fight like hell, make sure we don't, and make the most out of living on the off chance that we do. 🌈

If the world truly cared about trans people then there would be riots until this systemic injustice was gone.

Schools are now allowing literal terrorists (libs of tiktok aka Chaya Raichik) to run schools who are not even part of the same district. The hateful laws hateful people say protect kids are literally getting kids killed. But in the hateful's mind it's fine because it was a trans person, the enemy in their minds.

The hateful are Nazis and should not be in power over any children. I simply cannot understand why people can stand idle when hate spreads so clearly.

Rant on Rimuru's gender cause I am SICK and TIRED of this shit 😭

Rimuru uses BOTH MALE and GENDER NEUTRAL pronouns for themselves while others use something similar to 'it' and they. (It's also nice to note that very rarely would Fuse refer to Rimuru with a gendered pronoun rather then it.)

“It's cute when it's a slime, and when it's humanoid, it can't be either male or female. I wasn't aiming for anything with Rimuru's asexual gender, but I think it turned out to be a good thing." “It was too much trouble to decide on the gender, so I chose asexual (laughs)."

At the start of the novel, Rimuru calls themselves a man, like their past life. But as time went on, Rimuru would rarely talk abt their gender besides those moments (which become less and less with Rimuru losing sexual interest) and instead cuts the 'man' all together and says 'slime'.

As a small add on, Rimuru's page on the FAN-MADE wiki refer to Rimuru with they/them. Take this with grain of salt.

I personally believe that Fuse has set up Rimuru's gender for interpretation, and fans are free to view Rimuru as whatever.

Whether Fuse did this because 'well, slimes are genderless, so why should Rimuru be gendered' or if he made the conscious decision to create a non-binary main character, I don't know.

In conclusion, suck my non existence dick. Rimuru is a Demon Lord slime thing, gender is the least of thier concerns.

I hate hate HATE the fact that, some men have periods or get pregnant and are fetishisized or seen as weird. Like that screams transphobia to me... Remember guys, people who aren't women (ftm/trans ppl, nonbinary, intersex, etc.) can still have uteruses and should not be seen as weird to have periods!

Having parents that are good parents but aren't accepting of lgbtq stuff is weird because like, why am I grieving you while you're still alive. I'm going out doing stuff with you guys as a family that I would usually want to avoid because 'welp, when they find out, this is never gonna happen again.'

Like I just went fishing with my dad today. I have never wanted to go fishing before, until earlier when I realized that when they inevitably find out about the gay stuff, I'm never gonna have the chance to do it.

Every time I'm having a good time with them, I'm happy. I can pretend for a minute that everything is gonna be fine and dandy forever. But there's always this pit in my stomach knowing that it's not really gonna last.

And I know it goes without saying, but it really fucking hurts.

All I want is to stay close with you, to go out to dinner, to joke around, to help with the yard work, to show you my art, to visit on the holidays, and spend birthdays with you, but it's not gonna happen.
