weight - @wolfstarmicrofic - word count: 297
“Moons, I have an important question.”
Remus looked up from his book, only half paying attention. Because, since getting together a month ago, Sirius asked ‘important questions’ a lot. Some of them included, but were certainly not limited to:
Would you love me if I were a worm?
Would you love me if I turned into a dog and ate all of your homework?
Would you love me if I lost all my teeth?
Would you love me if I was bald?
And, Remus’s personal favorite, and the one that confused him the most, would you love me if I was never born?
Of course, Remus answered yes to all of these, because he’d known Sirius for almost five years, so he knew how to placate him.
So he expected this question to be the same.
“Would you still love me if I dressed like a girl sometimes?”
But now, Remus gave his boyfriend his full attention, because the question seemed to hold more weight.
“Of course I would, baby,” he replied earnestly, looking over and meeting Sirius’s eyes. “Do you…really think I wouldn’t?”
“Dunno,” Sirius mumbled, playing with a loose thread in his blanket. “You don’t think it’s weird?”
Remus chuckled and moved to sit next to him, grabbing his hand. “I think you’re weird. But however you want to dress, I’ll always think you’re stunning. And I’ll never stop loving you. I promise.”
Gray, tear-filled eyes finally met his own, and Remus momentarily was breathless. “I’m still a boy,” Sirius murmured.
“Even if you weren’t,” Remus swore, “I love you for you.”
At this, Sirius smiled a bit. “What if I were a snail?”
Remus froze and let out a long-suffering sigh, then grabbed a nearby pillow and hit Sirius over the head with it.

Sirius stepped into the hallway in a pleated skirt, boots laced to their knees, and glitter dusted across their cheeks like war paint. Regulus emerged at the same time, hair freshly hacked short, wearing slacks, suspenders, and an expression that dared anyone to say something.
They both froze.
Sirius raised an eyebrow. “You a boy now?”
Regulus crossed his arms. “Yeah. You a girl now?”
Sirius shrugged, adjusting their skirt. “Today.”
There was a long pause.
Sirius held out their arm like a gentleman. “Shall we go ruin breakfast?”
Regulus took it. “Let’s make the toast queer.”

Perhaps my biggest unpopular opinion about the Marauders is that I love femme Sirius, while it seems like everyone else hates it.

whenever wolfstar fights, remus keeps his hands shoved in his back pockets because no matter how bad the argument gets he would never lay a hand on sirius out of anger and doesn't want them to worry even for a second that he would

Peter: I loved my date Sybill, they're amazing.
Sirius: They?
Peter: Oh, yeah. Sybill uses they/them because they're non-binary
Sirius: What do you mean?
James: It's like, if you were talking to someone else about me and say 'they're handsome' instead of 'he's handsome.' Right?
Peter: Yep, exactly.
Sirius: Ohhh, cool. Moony, hit me every time I get it wrong.
Remus: I am absolutely not doing that.

Here’s the wolfstar dynamic in my fic because I’m very excited about it
Btw in this fic Sirius is kind of based off Elle and Remus is Tao
Remus was friends with Regulus, and Sirius was friends with James, but they had never met irl until Regulus brought Sirius to a dinner with his friends
-They were both tumblr and ao3 users
-and they became mutuals on tumblr
-they were best friends online and Sirius was Remus’s biggest fic reader
-and then they met irl and didn’t realize that they already kind of knew each other
-until Sirius brings up that they have a tumblr account
-so Remus asks what their username is
-and Sirius shares
-so they become friends irl
yup that’s it

Headcanon that genderfluid/nonbinary/gender nonconforming Sirius Black is terrified to tell their friends about how they're feeling. Their whole life, all they've heard about was being the "oldest boy" the "male heir" how they would someday be the "patriarch." And all the messages about being masculine, about being tough and not crying, about being rugged and emotionless and strong, constantly flow through their brain.
But then one day they just break when they see that Marlene has left a little bottle of black nail polish in the Common Room, and they sneak off to their dorm to try it out.
But their hands are shaking because they've never done this before and they're nervous about being caught and then, of course, Remus Lupin walks in to see them swearing and getting polish all over their hands.
And Remus just quietly grabs the little brush and calmly helps them paint their left hand, not judging or questioning.
And it turns into a ritual once a week- Remus painting, Sirius eventually becoming comfortable enough to open up, to say that maybe they want to wear a skirt or some eyeliner. That maybe...maybe they aren't a boy. Not in the way other people are.
They feel safe enough to tell Remus, and Remus just admires them all the more.

Micro fic: Black Brothers. 1628 words..
There was so much noise. Regulus hated noise. He usually brought his sound canceling headphones with him to things like this, or didn't attend at all. But, he'd promised Sirius he'd at least stay long enough to see him cheer. It'd been weeks his older brother had practiced in their shared flat and nightly at the trampoline park. Regulus had even tried to help Sirius decide what to do with his hair. He'd found a lovely, crimson, velvet ribbon at work and brought it home a few nights ago for him to try. Sirius was so excited. He'd practically shrieked when Regulus had tied his hair up into a 'made to look loose' bun and wrapped it with the ribbon.
"Reggie! Look at me!" he gushed at his reflection in the wall mirror, turning this way and that, watching how the tiny sparkles glittered against his obsidian hair. His skirt twirled around his thighs. "I feel so pretty!"
The basketball team had just ran onto the court below, sending the gym into a frenzy of cheers and screams. Regulus flinched. He felt his heart rate pick up and his palms starting to sweat. This may have been a very bad idea. He closed his eyes and forced himself to breathe. He could do this one thing for Sirius. His brother deserved to have him there. They'd finally made peace with their past and moved in together. They weren't angry anymore. The hurt that pushed a wedge between them was much less now. He couldn't let him down. He took several deep breaths and forced his eyes open. He saw the familiar black curls wrapped in a bun with a velvet, sparkly, crimson ribbon and he kept his focus there; ignoring the panic thrumming through him. Sirius turned with a few other cheerleaders and they locked eyes. From the distance they were; Regulus all the way at the top of the bleachers, and Sirius on the floor, he was sure Sirius couldn't see his face properly. Regulus was grateful for that. If Sirius even got an inkling he was panicked he wouldn't hesitate to help. He waved and Regulus waved back. Music began to play over the speakers and the cheerleaders fanned out into a line in front of the bleachers. They began their choreography and Regulus' head swam at the wave of response from those around him. Sirius was in perfect form, his voice carrying loudly. Regulus tried to focus on it, but it kept getting lost in the roar of noise. His breath hitched as he gripped the edge of the metal seat until his knuckles turned white. The cheer ended and Regulus bolted to his feet and rushed down the seemingly million steps, stumbling down the last ten or so. His heart hammered hard against his ribs and he couldn't seem to catch his breath. He pushed past several students who gasped in disbelief and irritation. He didn't mean to be rude, but he couldn't stop, not until he got to the toilets. Tears stung his eyes as he reached the door to the men's toilets. His chest felt like a vice. He pushed through the door with his shoulder. There was no way he was touching that germ infested door with his bare hands. Once inside he realized he wasn't alone. This only added to his panic. He couldn't bare to have anyone see him like this. He rushed into a stall and slammed the door shut, locking it with trembling fingers. It was much quieter in the restroom and he felt very grateful for that. He paced in the tiny space and counted under his breath, that he could barely make his lungs create. He stared at his moving feet on the dingy linoleum, focusing on the steps he took. Two steps to the right. Two steps back. He was losing this fight. He could feel the tightness in his chest worsening and his knees now shook with the rest of him. He was going to die in this disgusting toilet stall. Tears streaked his face. Help.
Not a second later there was a commotion outside the stalls. Heavy foot falls and the skidding of tennis shoes on the slick floor sounded. Then Sirius' voice, high and panicked.
"Reg?!" he called. But Regulus couldn't respond. He was trapped in his panic and had slumped forward, hands clutching his aching chest.
Sirius glanced around with wide eyes, "Did someone come in here? Looks a lot like me, just shorter?" he asked frantically.
One of the boys nodded toward the closed stall.
Sirius whirled around and started toward it, but stopped.
"Everyone out!" he shouted demandingly. The three other boys in the room looked at him and then one another, confused. Sirius waved his hands impatiently, "Leave!"
They all filed out, grumbling.
Sirius bent down to look under the only closed stall. He frowned when he saw Regulus' shiny, black dress shoes. He straightened and tried the door. "Reg, open the door." he said as calmly as he could, not knowing how bad his brother was.
Regulus was frozen, his forehead resting against the wall of the stall, eyes clamped shut tightly, shaking. He still had his hands tightly wrapped around his jacket at his chest. The pain was almost unbearable. His brain was screaming at him to breathe. Breathe! But it was no use. He was stuck.
Sirius didn't wait long, he bent down again and spoke clearly, "I'm climbing under, okay?" When he got no response he quickly went into the stall to the left and crawled beneath it and into the middle one. He carefully got to his feet, not wanting to accidentally touch his brother, and spook him further. "Hey, Reg, I'm right behind you. It's okay. You're safe." he said gently.
In this close proximity he could see Regulus' taut shoulders and trembling form. It made him feel awful. He'd only ended up this way because Sirius asked him to come to his first game. He should've known better. Ever since they'd moved in together and began uni, Regulus had made it a point to prove that he cared about Sirius. Even after he'd swore he'd be okay, Sirius knew it was a mistake. That didn't matter now. He had to get Regulus out of his panic.
When he didn't respond for the second time, a chill ran up Sirius' spine. This was bad. To hell with it! He could deal with being yelled at for touching him later. He grabbed Regulus by the shoulders and spun him around to face him. Regulus stumbled. When he saw his eyes tightly closed, his trembling lips, and wet cheeks, he gripped him by the arms and shook him, "Reggie!" Regulus' brows furrowed and his knees buckled. Sirius held him against himself and lowered them to the ground. "Okay, okay. I've got you. Just breathe.", he said softly, slowly running a hand up and down the others back.
Regulus gasped harshly as his lungs finally expanded. He kept his eyes closed and inhaled the scent of his brother. Coconut, clean linen and lavender from his cheer uniform, and his mountain spring aftershave. He let it calm his racing heart. His head fell forward, his forehead resting against Sirius' bare shoulder. His breaths were still ragged and his chest still hurt terribly. But he was safe. With Sirius he was always safe.
Sirius noticed him relax some and pulled him back and ducked his head some to get a better look, "Hey, you. Can you look at me?"
Regulus creased his eyes open slowly, letting Sirius' eyes keep his gaze.
Sirius smiled warmly, "There you are. You feeling a little better?"
Regulus blinked and nodded jerkily.
Sirius reached up slowly and brushed the pad of his thumb over one of Regulus' cheeks, "That's great. I'm so glad. You had me worried there. Ready to get out of here?"
Regulus nodded again but stopped, and rush of guilt fell over him, "Wait! The game! You can't just leave!" he protested.
Sirius startled a bit, but shook his head, "It's alright. I only had the one cheer. I was planning to come up with you for the rest of the game."
Regulus finally took his hands from his chest and wrapped them around Sirius' wrists. His eyes wild and brows crossed, "Don't lie to me, Sirius."
Sirius chuckled, "I'm not. New members only get one cheer. We have to earn our time. There's a whole hierarchy."
Regulus frowned, "That's ridiculous."
Sirius nodded and arched a brow knowingly, "I agree. But, it's all good. I know I'll be head cheerleader by mid season." His smile turned smug.
Regulus sighed and finally let his body fully relax. This caused him to slump into his brother's chest heavily. He mumbled against the scratchy nylon of Sirius' uniform shirt, "You're insufferable."
Sirius laughed, "Yeah, yeah I love you too." He got to his feet and carefully helped Regulus up with him. Regulus looked exhausted. His eyes were drooping and he swayed in Sirius' arms.
Regulus sighed heavily and muttered, "Please get me out of this disgusting toilet..."
Sirius slipped his arm behind Regulus and over his back, holding him close to his side. He unlocked the stall door and stepped sideways to get them through the door. "Okay. But, I'm driving." He felt Regulus stiffen. He chuckled and raised his free hand, "I know, you hate anyone else driving your car. But, you're in no shape to do so yourself. I'll be careful. I'll drive like a grandma, alright?"
Regulus wanted to argue, but he was just too weak to try. He pulled away, straightened up the best he could, and tugged at his jacket. "Fine. Just get me out of here." he grumbled.
Sirius nodded and reached into Regulus' jacket pocket and retrieved the keys. "Ready?" he asked, jingling them.
Regulus nodded curtly, trying to mentally prepare himself for what was beyond the door. Too many people. Filthy and loud. Noise. Music and yelling. He just had to make it to the car.

Jegulus Micofic, Arranged Marriages
Walburga Black hasn’t always been the kindest woman. She was raised in a family where they must be married off to purebloods, she was married off to her cousin. To her children, it is disgusting. They couldn’t imagine marrying someone they’re so closely related to, and she decided to respect it. This was one thing she allowed from them, the only thing she listened to when they asked.
Sirius Black, her son who is sixteen years old, promised their mother that they had found someone worthy. Walburga did not care who it was as long as they were a pureblood, and she did care enough to meet them face to face.
She was not homophobic, no Walburga couldn’t be homophobic when her cousins were gay as well. Her niece, Bellatrix, had dated a brilliant young woman named Rita Skeeters. Rita was a pureblood. All Walburga asked from her children was that they married a pureblood.
She would never be allowed to know that her child, Sirius, was inlove with a muggle-born. They made sure to never speak of it. This was their last chance to prove to their mother they were worth it. As if, Walburga even cared. She didn’t even regard Sirius’ nonbinary gender.
Her daughter, Lyra, had never made the same promise to her mother. Love wasn’t her first priority, no, it never was. Her first priority is to survive. Survive she shall and she will.
That’s why her mother wants to marry her off, and she invites the Potters first. Lyra has always been the perfect daughter. She knows this will go well.
There’s a knock on the door as Lyra is not down the stairs yet. Sirius stands up from their chair and walk towards their mother and father, standing side by side. The door is opened by their house elf, Kreacher, who is far shorter than the rest of them. Two young men and a young woman walk through the door.
Walburga is the first to speak. “You must be the Potters!” she says. Her raspy voice anchors on Sirius’ eardrums. “I’m Walburga Black, this is my husband, Orion,” she motions to her husband on her left. “My son, Sirius,” she motions to Sirius who shifts in their stance due to the sudden misgendering. “And my daughter—“
Walburga freezes and her eye twitches. Frowning deeply, she snaps her head to the staircase and screams at the top of her lungs: “LYRA, GET DOWN HERE! WE HAVE GUESTS!” Without a second to spare, her anger is wiped, smiling generously at the Potters. “So sorry about that.”
Euphemia waves her hand, forcing a grin through her discomfort. She already has developed a heinous feeling about this family. She doesn’t know if she wants James marrying into it.
“Oh, it’s quite alright,” she forces herself to reply. She’s kinder, voice like a melody. Sirius can’t help themself but feel relaxed. “James here is time-blind as well.”
Orion squints his eyes. “It doesn’t drive you mental?”
Monty assumed he must be speaking about the time-blindness. “We’ve learned to live by it. Warn him thirty minutes early, or somewhat. It works!”
Walburga crosses her hands over one another. “Interesting.”
There’s a noise coming from the staircase, someone walks down. Walburga deviates her attention from the Potters to the sound. “Oh, Lyra, you’re here!” she says. But then she frowns, anger swarming into her face. Her eye twitches. “Why aren’t you wearing the dress?” she asks, threatening Lyra at the staircase. “Where did you get that?”
Lyra steps down into the Potter’s view. Her hair is cut short, waving around her head. Walburga is correct, she’s not wearing a dress, but a black and white suit. She doesn’t have the jacket on, but it doesn’t look any bit odd on her. She steps closer to the Potter’s, stopping in front, holding her hand out. James takes it immediately. She remembers what her mother once told her. Smile when you see them. She tilts her head to the side, giving a half-assed upturn of her lips.
“Hello, Mister, Misses Potter,” she greets. James blinks three times, awstruck by her beauty. “I’m Regulus,” she leans closer. “Their son.”
James clears his throat, feeling himself turn red. Regulus, he’s the most amazing man he’s ever seen in his life. And for fuck’s sake, he would love to marry him.
Walburga’s voice raises. “Lyra, excuse me?” Regulus’ smile drops, and he frowns deeper than the Mariana’s Trench. “Please repeat yourself and reintroduce yourself properly.”
James doesn’t let go of his hand. He cannot think.
“Hello, James, is it?” Regulus asks. James nods. “Hi. I’m Regulus,” he said his name louder. “And I’m their son.”
James cannot stop his words from leaving his mouth. “I’ll do it! I’ll marry your child.” He thanks himself internally for avoiding the misgendering of Regulus Black.
Effie glances at Monty, sending him a silent signal.
Walburga raises a brow. “You’ll marry her? Even after all of her diffidence? She’s not normally like this. I don’t understand it.”
Effie waves her hand, forcing up a smile. “Oh, it’s alright! We can handle it! Where are the papers?” She says this quickly, hoping she can get Regulus out of the house before Walburga can utter another word. And that she did.

HI HI am here to demand ace nonbinary sirius details!!!!
hiiii!! i thought you might ask for this one haha <3 there’s not tooooo much to say; i have no real snippets i can share, mostly just a slightly-chaotic playlist lmao. however, i do have a tentative summary/opening line that i’ll put at the end. the fic is very sirius-centric, obviously, focusing on their gender & sexuality after having left home, and with a nice, fluffy dose of strangers to lovers + ace4ace wolfstar :)
anyway, here’s the singular line i have to share:
The list of things Sirius Black is supposed to be, and the list of things they are, are two very different matters.
wip game here

It is the east, and you are the sun
“Who knows,” Evan says wistfully, “maybe you'll meet some guy, fall madly in love, and run away together.” Regulus rolls his eyes. _____ In which Regulus meets some guy, falls madly in love, and they run away together. _____ This was originally based off off the plot of Romeo and Juliet, but rest assured there is a happy ending. Although it is still dramatic AS HELL. You've been warned. Fic name and chapter titles are all from Romeo and Juliet.
I'm writing a longer fic y'all!!!! wish me luck- it's going to be 22 chapters in total (subject to change)
Thank you to my amazing friend @multi-fandom-lunatic for motivating me- this wouldn't exist without her!
I'm posting on both ao3 and wattpad, although ao3 is my main still.
