I wanted to explain more clearly what happens/intended timline:

• Fiyero’s in disguise when first coming to the sight of the house due to the whole…”he ran off with the infamous Wicked Witch of the West” thing so no one knows it’s him

• Dorothy comes out, freaks out upon seeing Nessarose’s feet and everyone praising her and dashes into her house, trying to fall asleep to wake up from what feels like a nightmare. Fiyero follows her and helps her cool off and process things. He also tends to some scraps she got from the twister

• He only tells Dorothy his name and was planning to take her to Elphaba so they could help her and protect her since she’s frighten and might have a lot put on her since everyone was already seeing her as a witch

• Toto vibe checks Fiyero cuz he’s a good boy and wants his girl Dorothy to be in safe company and Fiyero passes with flying colors

• Before he could act on his plan for taking Dorothy to Elphaba himself, Glinda comes in and takes over, still managing to get the shoes on Dorothy. This is despite her protesting and Fiyero trying to argue in her favor without revealing it’s him. Glinda then forces the poor girl on her way and Fiyero resolves to get her out of this mess while being thinking,”Glinda WTF?! Why are you dragging a kid into this?! You know that fraud can’t help her! And why are you sending her alone?!?! That kid’s like 10! Ya tryna kill her?!”

• Elphaba is in a mix of worrying where the heck Fiyero is while mourning her sister and having what’s left of her on the feet of a 10 year old

• Fiyero runs to her before she reaches the house and explains to her the situation so she’s aware of Glinda forced the girl into the shoes and sent her all by herself to see the Wizard

• The cat fight includes Elphaba scolding Glinda for forcing Dorothy into this mess. Elphaba is worried about the Wizard using or harming Dorothy depending on he views her

• Meanwhile, Dorothy comes across the Witch of the North (Not Glinda. The one from the books) who lets her vent all stress (Can’t blame her. Girl survived a twister only to be praised for her house landing on somebody). North comforts the girl and grants her the protection mark to keep her safe

• The events after the car fight still happens, but Fiyero asks her to find Dorothy for him before she runs away

• Elphaba still fears Fiyero having died, but resolves to keep his promise in keeping Dorothy safe since it’s what he wanted

• Dorothy meets Scarecrow, realizes it’s Fiyero and they both resolve to get to Elphaba and find her a way home.

• The Wizard gets both relieved and worried upon finding out Dorothy hasn’t been following Glinda’s directions. Being worried about her unpredictability (and seeing her as a risk to being exposed) sends the Gale Force to find and escort Dorothy to the Emerald City)

• So Elphaba’s just trying to bring Dorothy to the castle before the Wizard gets to them first, but Fiyero is in charge of leading the way so he and Dorothy end up evading both parties (worth it since that’s how they find the long lost princess)

• Fiyero freaks out over having both the talk of the land and the missing princess who are both kids and being stuck as a floppy scarecrow and is just trying his best to get them both to safety alive (thankfully he still finds Tin Man and Lion in his AU so he’ll have his caretaker buddies)

• Eventually they’ll find Elphaba and Fiyero will get to talk about how he essentially adopted two kids and made some new buddies after almost dying while Elphaba questions how Fiyero is both the handsomest dude in the land and the hugest dork at the same time

so I saw your earlier post about how Tommy is getting Ali’ed, and I wanted to ask about who you think is the most developed and likeable out of Buck’s love interests? (except Eddie ofc, he’s the best and I can feel it in my bones that he will become endgame.) I’m still in s3, so I’m kinda a new watcher you could say. (I’ve read too many tumblr spoilers and copius amounts of fanfics though, so I’m able to keep up with and watch season 8 live).

I wanted to ask this because I’ve seen so much Tommy hype and promotion on here that I really thought that he was developed as a character and a main. But from what I’ve heard, he’s only worse than Buck’s and Eddie’s actually developed love interests. Before I actually started watching the show, I’ve only heard bits and pieces here and there about 911 and the “gay” firefighters, but that’s about it. I only started watching seriously during season 7, and I’m a pretty slow binge-watcher (hence why I’m only 3x12 lmao). When I went back to season 1, I fully expected to see Tommy (bc honestly, I thought Tommy and Eddie were the same person for a while lmaooo), but then I got to season 2 and saw the begin episodes and I was like wtf? How do people actually like this man? Eddie is literally RIGHT there. Even if Eddie wasn’t endgame or a romantic interest, he’s still a better compliment to Buck platonically than Tommy is romantically. So then I thought “oh maybe he had a redemption arc or like changed for the better like Buck did,” but from what I’ve seen on s8 and on here, it seemed like he didn’t? So that only makes me more confused on why a majority of the fandom seems to love his character. Personally, I don’t really see anything, but I guess everyone has their own opinions 🤷🏻 . Though, I’m scared that I’m basing this on too little info and I missed something because I haven’t watch seasons 4–7.

Hi, darling! I'm gonna ignore Abby, because in the context of season 1, Buck is her love interest, not the other way around, since she is the main character. So most developed is hands down Taylor. Ali was barely there, and Natalia didn't fulfill what they wanted to do with her since the actress couldn't come back to s7. Likable is complicated because Ali and Natalia aren't around enough for you to get attached and, Taylor and Tommy have a past of hurting the 118, so it's hard to be sympathetic at times. Taylor gets a lot of background information, they live together, even though the relationship is clearly wrong, both of them are trying to make it work as best as they can, so it makes sense for Taylor to be around. She tries to love Buck as best as she can, it's just not enough, they are incompatible. And, well, Tommy. Imma be honest, the only thing Tommy has going for him is the fact that he is a man. The bt fandom took that and ran. Basically, they decided that since he is a man and a first responder that meant that the relationship would be super developed and they built it UP based on nothing really (actually based on Lou having a cameo and people paying him to headcanon with them, but that's a whole another you just had to be there), not on the show at least. I don't believe he had a redemption arc, the show kinda makes it seem like being queer excuses his behavior and just doesn't address it. In my opinion, when I try my best to be unbiased and ignore the way I deeply hate the character because of the fandom, I think Tommy is pointedly being written as a bad fit in Buck's life and the relationship will run its course once Buck wakes up and stop just accepting whatever.

And if you think Eddie is the better compliment to Buck and you're still in 312, just wait, they get more intense. It's madness. They are soulmates, I don't care about anything else.

Yea girlie, I am totally ready to have that conversation if anyone else is wiling to because to me it's just gotten out of control. 🥴 I've usually kept quiet on this topic because I don't like to complain or vent too much on my blog about silly things like this, but it's to the point now where I just have to say something.

This man has been getting hate for years, and for absolutely no good reason at all.

Some people hated Austin even while he was dating Vanessa.

He's even been called a clout chaser, when hello, Ashley T. hooked them up together and Vanessa had her eye on Austin! She admitted it herself!

Then, after the Aunessa breakup, Austin was blamed for that too! Even though, we really don't actually know what the reason was for their breakup, or even who actually broke up with whom or how it happened!

Then, people called him a cheater and just assumed that Austin cheating was the reason for the Aunessa breakup, even though, there's been ZERO proof that has come out in nearly 5 years since their breakup that he cheated on her.

Then, he's been bashed for dating KG, even though, I'm almost 100% sure that she went after him! (We've seen how she operates)

Then -- there was the whole stupid "Elvis voice" thing. 🙄 That "joke" has been run into the ground for two whole years, and it's almost like beating a dead horse at this point. That man has been bullied for over two years for the voice thing, even when he doesn't even sound like Elvis! And so what if maybe he got stuck in a voice inflection for a little while? It happens to a lot of actors. Why is he the one getting so much hate? Instead of bullying him, people should have been showing him compassion and just given him more time to acclimate to his more typical way of speaking again.

Then there are also the people online who say that they just "don't like him" because they think he's "creepy" or they don't like him "just because". 😒 Like wtf? 🥴 They don't even have a real reason to hate the man, but they are so proud to say that they dislike him. This man is one of the kindest people in the industry. I'm thinking, what on earth are they smoking?

He's also been called "pretentious", "arrogant", and "phony", but yet, if you watch even just one interview of Austin (even pre-Elvis), you'll see that he's one of the sweetest, most down-to-earth and genuine celebrities out here. Other people who have worked with him or met him also echo that same sentiment.

Now, he's getting blamed for the breakup of his costar and her fiancé just because they're currently filming a movie together, and there's absolutely zero proof of them having anything romantic off-camera whatsoever. 🙄

I'm just thinking, what on earth is people's problem with this man? If anything, he's been very private, he minds his business, he works hard, he's never been involved in any scandal, he minds his manners and treats everyone with kindness and has never been one of those jerk celebrities who act entitled. I think you have probably hit the nail on the head girl. I think most people take one look at Austin and assume that someone that good-looking just has to be a jerk, a cheater, or extremely arrogant. But he's totally the opposite!

I also agree with you that part of it is jealousy too. But a lot of the people saying these things about him online are women! 🥴 It's almost like women these days automatically judge good-looking guys as bad guys or smthg. The description of her power was so NEAT though! Had a minor moment of "oh hey this paragraph of this precog talking about her power works inside her head is an almost perfect description of how my brain works" which was wild. I don't actually get to see the future though, which is a major difference.

She can actually just full blow see a possible future holy shit! Wow. Like it hurts and she hates it but it's still crazy.

Also I guessed that Crawler was going to come for Traveler in a Vault (that is Noelle's cape name until I am told different) after the Bitch interlude. I was very happy I got that right since I really knew almost nothing about either.

So Crawler just basically can't die and gets stronger every time he gets hurt. I wonder how long it will take him to reach Endbringer level power?

And Traveler in a Vault is just a large monster that is always hungry and can be driven to the point of eating people. That sucks a lot for her.

Also Leviathan came after her too huh? Well that's probably fine and won't matter in the future.

I knew you were destined to be a tragedy from the moment I met you. You were always going to become a villain. So once I knew the Nine were recruiting it was a guarantee that you'd be recruited.

Specifically, that you'd be recruited by Bonesaw. She is an artist and obviously she is obsessed over the art you could make together.

Holy shit though that chapter.

Lets see. FUCK CAROL. Victoria gets some excuses, she's a kid, she's following her mom's example, etc. But FUCK CAROL. You are partially responsible for what Amy is about to become.

Despite being terrified, Amy seemed to have a dark fascination with everything Bonesaw was doing and saying. Really listened as Bonesaw explained things.

The more detailed view of what Amy's power does is crazy. She really can do just about anything to someone.

“Why not fix your dad?” is where Bonesaw won. It's about 3/5 of the way through the chapter. And she won at that point. That was the killing blow. The rest of the chapter, the remaining 3.5k or so words, is watching Amy bleed out to drive the point home. It is Panacea's death monologue. It is beautiful and tragic and amazing.

Literally he’s just a different take and depending on if he was your first Leonardo or not he’s going to hit really differently. He’s everyone’s first Leon. The amount Rise Leo talks alone is wildly off-brand (Leo has like 6 lines in the entire secret of the ooze movie) and the frolicking was certainly a choice. A good one that I loved. Haaa had you there for a sec. Writers are always a bit ‘wtf do we do with Leo’ and Laird (co-creator of TMNT) has said before that Leonardo speaks formally so we know Rise Leo is on that shit list. But I don’t think the point of Rise was a reiteration, but a reimagining.

Leo, by design, is the responsible kid who despite age always falls into the brother-dad role and ends up in charge of wrangling his brothers (and it being all his fault when they fail). Subsequently he gets a lot of gloomy emo plot lines, a bunch of trauma, and when he does have fun ends up punished for it somehow (the 24 comic line is slapping this guy too- a Leo who loses mercy is actually terrifying. I love the brutality but am also begging them to just let him be happy at some point)

Rise Leo had that older brother role taken which I found refreshing, and then noticed he’d had a core quality stripped and that was really hard to adapt to. He was taken from skilled ninja due to extreme dedication to his craft and let’s face it, obsession with martial arts *cough special interest cough* to being a guy who ditches practice and was just good at fighting anyway; shiny gifted kid aura and full Mary Sue. Rise Leo had his strategic nature was so well written in but he also had no right being any good in a fight, and I have a theory that’s pretty much what pissed off all the people you see so annoyed about Rise Leo and angry about it (that aren’t just raging homophobes who can’t deal with a little queer coding) Leo bi icon real. Immediately, sorry, I have to share this thought, 03 looking 12 straight in the eyes and locking in just to really deliberately say “Gross.” over the Karai thing. 12 staring back “Rabbit.” “That’s not even canon. …D” “Don’t you dare ask me if I think he likes you.” And rise Leo piping in like “Ew 12 is allergic to being interesting, ask anyway, so who’s this guy and be honest does he like 3 furthermore is he also absolutely jacked because that is a lot of turtle, like a lot a lot of one you know what I mean, What are you Saying 12 get out of here, that is so inappropriate.” 12 just staring at him horrified. It was nice to have him not parentified straight out of the gate, and I really liked the spin on his personality (that again was a writer choice because Leo is allegedly both really difficult and not much fun to write) but as someone who came into the 87’s as my sentience was forming, Rise really is like a ‘What If’ version of the turtles that had always been varying degrees of the same people for such a long time.

I completely get the obsessive group of Rise fans. If that was my first turtles I’d be just as in love with it (although I hope not the same breed as those Insta comment kids wtf is that behaviour) but I also get why people hate on it. To a lot of fans it’s like Rise are caricatures or a fan fiction. But the thing is- that’s so fine!? Why the fuck not. It’s good, well written, immensely entertaining and so well animated (Rise is the single best animated television version of TMNT, objectively). Basically the whole of the last IDW comic run read like a big fan fiction too and it was awesome…

So yeah, Wise man say just let people enjoy things and also if someone says they don’t like a thing you do, you can be like ‘that’s fine’ and totally leave them alone. You can just like stuff without everyone else also liking it, abandon the binary 👍

I originally said here that this wasn’t a vent post but it might be one after all oops. (I’m sorry I’m an over-sharer and this is my ramble blog.)

So I think I mentioned this here before (like years before, idk), but there is this guy who has been stalking me for forever now or whatever. Like, he’s basically the reason I don’t accept friend requests from people I don’t know on Discord and made it so only friends can message me, cause this man would pretend to be other people to talk to me. Anyways, on one of his MANY alts that he uses to send messages to me, he basically admitted to grooming me in the Pedo way when I was a minor!!! Fun 🥰🥰🥰🥰 (this is sarcasm)

But like, that literally explains SO MUCH OF THE THINGS IN SSEC, LIKE WHAT????

Like obviously I am not going in detail of the things that were in SSEC cause it makes me uncomfortable, but it does explain a lot of it, and seeing how afterwards I proceeded to get groomed by 2 other people back to back to BACK, LIKE. For one thing

I definitely feel like the tonal shift in the series was due to all of these events. Of course, I’m not going to get into every bad thing that happened to me due to being a naive girl making a stupid pokemon webcomic (sadly it’s a lot lol), but like, I didn’t even realize that I was groomed by multiple people until I was in my 20’s. (I mean, I am in my 20’s right now, but you know) and I literally was not aware that stalker man was being a pedo towards me when I was a minor until he admitted to me that he was being one- RECENTLY.

I do feel like how SSEC ultimately turned out was due to all of this. For the longest time, I was just surrounded by a lot of negativity. And, I kind of just kind of have the natural inclination to help people or be kind to people, and that ultimately just caused people to see that and use me over and over and over again, causing both the tonal shift in SSEC as well as me closing myself more and more off to people, which- really sucks honestly. (And only now I realize that that is literally the same thing that happened to Vay, wtf)

Like- I want friends. Nothing Romantic, no strings attached, no weird power dynamics, just PLATONIC friends. But I’m extremely shy and awkward, and ofc, extremely closed off ^^;;; So it’s pretty hard for that to happen, I guess.

But I suppose that is why I like/obsess about Box 31 so much.

Box 31 is basically just wish fulfillment for me.

Because, like. The only thing I’ve ever really wanted, the thing I have been looking for, for years, are friends. And, the whole story of box 31 are outcasts making friends, and supporting each other, and growing together, and that makes me very very happy.

Living vicariously through my characters!!! I want them to be happy, I want them to smile, I want others to smile too!!! I don’t want to keep drawing sad things, yeah I like drama, there will be drama in Box 31, but in ssec it’s just so endless. I always wanted the characters to be happy at the end, but where is that end if there is an endless sea of issues?

Idk. I just remember me being freshly 18, crying on the ground (cringe ik) to my way older roommate that I just wanted friends, and I wonder if things would have been better if someone just took my hand and became the friend I needed at the time instead of me becoming totally isolated and the stalker using that to get closer to me.

So I have started Veilguard. I am a huge fan of the series and am reserving judgement for when i'm am much further in, but so far, I have a few ✨️ opinions ✨️ that I need to get off my chest. These are just my thoughts, and I'm sure other people have very different takes, which is incredibly valid! There are no spoilers for the story, just my gripes so far. I am very happy with lots of things to be clear, and it is clearly a well-made game with some serious thought having gone into it.

1. I am sad by the lack of influence from the other games. I have been reading lots of takes on this, and I really didn't want to have an opinion until i'd played it. It makes complete sense given that it's set in Tevinter not to have choices from origins and 2 have a hugely significant impact. That's fine! I understand why they didn't want throwaway lines and letters but I really miss the throwaway lines and letters🤣 Those are the little things that flesh the world out and build the world that we have been loving creating and shaping for 3 games. I live in the United Kingdom but I still very much keep up to date with American politics and discuss it. It would make sense for who is on the throne in Fereldon to come up in conversation at least once (even by background characters). My Hawke is alive and would 100 percent be chatting to Varric unless there is a damn good reason why she can't (which we haven't been given). A letter from her to Varric would have made my week. I think the little things matter a lot when you get the the 4th game in a series and whilst I understand the effort these things take and the desire to avoid little bits that don't impact the story- for me they make my game experience from a story telling perspective. Just a few letters or throwaway lines would have done wonders to help the game feel connected to its predecessors and help the player feel it is still the world they have built.

2. Mage combat is kicking my ass. Admittedly, this may be a skill issue lmao. I miss tactics and being able to pause the game when I'm getting my ass kicked to reevaluate. As a controller user, there are so many buttons and things I have to press without time to think - especially because I have so little health (or maybe the enemies just hit harder). I get the impression the combat is a lot easier and more user friendly in melee so maybe it's my fault for being a mage lover but I am struggling in ways I haven't in the previous games. The combat feels like the biggest change and massively ramped up in difficulty (even in story mode!!! Send help!!). I may have to try playing as a rogue or a warrior, but it's such a shame as someone who historically LOVES being a mage that the combat is less enjoyable. The abilities take all of my mana to use, so I use an ability, and i'm like, welp time to spam x and y and pray. There are some great elements to the combat, but on the whole, I'm finding it stressful and difficult to play as a ranged character. I miss my beloved hotbar with all my options there for easy access lmao.

3. WTF has happened to darkspawn. I get that they are supposed to look different for [redacted] story reasons, but man, the glowing red eyes are really cartoony and terrible - in my opinion. They don't feel nearly as sinister and real as they did in the previous games. This is just stylistic differences I personally really don't like the way they've cartooned them up.

So yeah, just some takes I needed to vent about. Again, these are my opinions, and I'm sure plenty of people love the combat and are fine with the style differences and lack of impact from previous games. I certainly wouldn't want to insult all the work that's clearly gone into the game - which, on the whole, is stunning. I may change I opinions the longer I play! I am reserving judgement for the game as a whole because I am still very early on, and it's likely it will grow on me the longer I play and get used to it being a different game to it's previous installments.

Donald is walking on the thinnest of ice at the moment. I understand we both can be busy but it’s no reason for us to be in the same city for two weeks and I not get flowers. And what makes it worst is he asking for my schedule then doing nothing with it.

Ted is an angel but he wants to live on my skin and sometimes (a lot of times) I just want to be alone. I like being by myself. If I insist on alone time he thinks I’m angry with him.

Quay (he comes and goes) got outta jail and immediately jumped to harassing me. This is after he said he would get his sister to drag me. Do you like me or not? One day you are apologizing the next you threatening my life. 

Hood nigga at work did some foul shit. We literally went from besties to enemies in the span of 3 days. I don’t care that he quit, you gotta do what you gotta do but the way he went about it was crazy. The same week the hurricane blew thru Atlanta he just stopped showing up to work. We thought something was wrong with the nigga. Me and a few others text him and he left all of us on read. Then by Monday this nigga had blocked us all no explanation. And I was just like wtf?

TG saw me once in passing and now is back to texting me excessively. And it swings back and forth from I miss you, to you ruined my life. As much as I wanna take credit for ruining his life, he was a coke head before and after me lol.

Saturday night I went to a bar that Ted was bouncing at. Saw this guy harassing a girl and I spit on. I apologized to Ted and his coworker cuz they had to step between me and a man. Which I didn’t like hence the post. I’m not sorry for spitting on him because I felt like he deserved it but definitely wrong place and time.

This plug is definitely annoying me. Once he showed me his dick it was no longer just business. He trying to clean it up and I’m not interested. I don’t wanna buy from you no more, I don’t wanna kick it with you at functions no more. My money was always good and consistent, so he fucked up.

And about jj and reader being opposites, believe it or not I DID notice it before you said it😉maybe because I kind of always find patterns between stuff, I did notice the times this played out, and I think that just makes it all (specially jj's intentions on the plot) more interesting. And oh my god it might be because I'm infj and intuitive is my second name atp but why did I had a weird sensation about reader's dad when she saw his picture, like something was off🤦🏻holy shit calum isn't his real name? He's not a good person?? God jj will be so... Idk, when he find out he and reader aren't opposites on this part. Poor boy is so traumatized by parental abuse he would probably be to scared of the possibility of her going to the same path as him, goddamn. And the way you talk about her dad like we know him makes it all more exciting, I have my bets, but I'm the kind of person who would bet and yet be 100% shocked if you confirmed it lmao

And the sexy part of the talk... Well, I'm kind of loving that. Of how reader just goes along with him and he's like🥴wait wtf how did you know bout this, let's go... i guess? It's actually very funny. Like he is a mere mortal seducted, for a moment: confused, but accepting because how couldn't he? AND I DID fucking get the little mermaid references!!! I mean there's some reasons she's my least favourite: she pissed me off a lot in the show. The hottub scene (the one jj wastes all their money on a thub) and how she gets like "we should've given to charity😤" like her friends ain't poor and need the money, the way she forgets she's rich, the way she treats her parents (they ain't perfect but still, they tried a lot, but she never let them), the way she vents several times like being orphan is her dream while she's near to a boy that gets abused by his dad and had no mom, she screaming "murder📢" at sarah's dad when they were supposed to be spying quietly, of how the writers made she fool pope just to be with jj later (and I feel like that would be a lot more talked about if the roles were reversed), etc. I also never really thought she had chemistry with jj, and sometimes jj in the show acted like he hated her company which confuses me. Even cleo has my heart more than her btw. Glad to know I'm not the only one actually😅the whole fandom loves her so I kind of always felt like a loner in this. But the fact that she has an initial crush on jj is also something that will make the dynamic of it all very interesting to see, specially because reader needs female besties, so I'm really trying to get on kiara shoes rn: helping and begining to empathize with the girl she's secretly jealous of. Oh, the conflict. Actually the whole dynamic with the pogues is good to read already, I'm liking this.

Summer was my first love my shayla😭I loved this fic, and even tho lucky charm is my fav (because it's so goddamn unique), I still remember about how excited I got everytime you posted another chapter. And I'm so glad both universes are open!!

i wanna hear your guesses on who the father might be, because i still can't decide between the two options i have... i love this part of the plot because jj knows how it feels to live with a horrible man so his reaction will be prompted. i feel like i should've made the part where they investigate her dad longer but i was dragging the chapter and like posting it and i was too exhausted to like make it longer. i promise the next one is gonna spoil you!

the whole topic of the intimacy and like human stuff in general is such a gold mine for ideas because hello?? telepathy?? imagine that while writing smut! or like her being the more composed and slightly dominant one... How's part 3 of gen again coming out? Now rush please, I'm just curious and excited

So far I have roughly 16k words written for the next part, with five chapters outlined. I went off on a tangent and skipped ahead to the American Arc for a bit, which has the working title Stanley Shanghaied and 9k words, and some planning for Treasure Island which might just be covered by an interlude one-shot from like, Moz's POV or something.

So, yeah, I've been working out of chronological order for the moment, which makes it impossible to post. I have been posting The Anger of A Gentle Man, which is a fun bit of venting and a bit of relationship advice disguised as a spy drama fic with a side of hurt/comfort and Gen being very squicked out. My health has been about as up and down as usual, that productivity sine wave just keeps undulating along.

There was also a very minor issue I had with ellipsus, which I used during one of my monthly migrations south from near NYC to the rural swamp I came from, where I thought lost most of a difficult chapter I'd been re-writing. This was me for a good 15 minutes of panic:

Thankfully ellipsus has some really strong edit history tools and I figured out WTF happened so I only lost about a sentence and a half instead of many hours of work. It was quite a scare, and I've gotten a new laptop for my birthday since the old one has been bricked for months. I'd been writing on my phone when away from my desktop and that means a lot less got done or I just switch to crocheting more little Jojo and Kiki woobles.

All my kid's friends want one for their birthday and I think I'm teaching them something by letting them see how long it takes me to repeat the pattern. I've already explained that machines can't crochet, all things made that way have to be made by hand and it's good they see something that isn't easily replaced being made. Something something, the value of fibercraft and labor.

I think at the center of the asian-immigrant (in america) experience is the internal struggle between finding motivation through filial piety or finding it in consumerism. I however, have neither any respect left for my parents, nor any desire to contribute to the growing piles of waste on our planet. So here I lie. So basically ever since forever my dad has loved just taking all my shit because it’s never been mine (literally the room i spend 15 hours a day in is still called the ‘office room’ stfu bsfr it has my shit all over the walls and every single shelf is full of my stuff fuckin loser) anyways so i decided to just give him the crap he likes to take EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND WITHOUT FAIL (phone, airpods, headphones, earbuds, laptop, whatever) and now the only thing i fucking use is my fucking school issued chromebook right. So a while before i gave him all my stuff he started to mess with the wifi router and randomly turn off internet access to my stuff when he was throwing his little temper tantrums, and then we had a whole blowout and he agreed to not cut anything without my explicit approval. And then he started to cut stuff without my approval so i figured out the password and changed it! and he’s like oh! Guess ill cut the fucking wifi for the only thing you still own! Anyways i’m saving up in case i have to move out now bc wtf man holy power complex next thing you know he’ll fucking throw me out. Sometimes i wish he’d do something that i can justifiably hate but no its always some fucking psychological manipulation bullshit oh ive had such a hard life im an immigrant from a small village just working my day job well your day job fucking sucks nobody fucking likes you piece of shit loser asshole they’re sucking you dry you work 18 hour days and they still fucking hate you. Literally whenever he meets with his friends he just complains about what a fucking dick he’s been to me and how i hate him for it. And its obvious that all of his friends are on my fucking side so they just try to change the conversation to something better but its very validating nonetheless. Im sure i’ve been acting like a pretentious bitch too but like come on im sixteen living in america its not like i’m spending thousands of dollars at the mall or getting knocked up or smoking weed in the school bathrooms like everyone else at school. I feel like a lot of the other ‘nice’ kids at school feel the same way towards their parents but they’re able to maintain a veneer of fake niceness but my family needs to be so fucking ‘honest’ about everything that we can’t even have that. Cat!Kim - I think back on this headcanon and why exactly my negative reaction to it is so visceral, and honestly? I really just think it's because I have such a big ick when it comes to mixing up the actor and character, yknow. And this headcanon just reminds me of how much the space cadet's media personality has so utterly influenced the fanon take of Kim that I barely recognize him from the one in the show. Like, for reals, do we know if Kim even likes animals in the show? Cuz honestly? I feel like he'd see them as an obligation he doesn't need in his life. WIK likes them well enough to put them in his music videos, but I do wonder how much of WIK is real vs Kim's additions to the character in order to make him more appealing to his audience. Hmmmm~ (although thinking about it now, I totally have a fic/drabble idea I wanna tackle with this headcanon...hehehe...)

Chay being knowledgeable about all things sex because Porsche used to sleep around at his job in the bar - This one never made much sense to me, because of the reasons I've explained before. Personally, it disregards so much of the cultural context as to how the idea of openly talking about sex is viewed in Asia, besides the fact that it's not at all accurate to how Porsche's role in Chay's life is portrayed, as both a protective older brother and semi-parent.

Vegas would take a liking to Chay and vice versa - Yet another one that I never really understood, at least from the context of the show alone. Vegas is a self-serving man, and he has a penchant for using everyone around him to get what he wants and/or to keep himself safe. I'd sooner see Vegas pulling a gun on Chay and pointing it at his head, rather than playing besties with him.

Kim as submissive: Definitely influenced by the space cadet again (and his aesthetics), uh huh. Yknow, for a character that a lot of fans like to play with and bestow upon him the space cadet's characteristics (which is in and of itself also another can of problematic worms, cuz let's be for real ahahaha), I'm honestly surprised there's not much more Jeff/Reader fics out there. Hmm~

Chay as dominant: the poor boy is definitely used often as a self-insert. Alas.

Kinn and Khun picking Chay over Kim - This one is just hella weird. Chay is a kind and gentle character, and there's a lot to like about him, but he's not some Gary Stu that has the halo of auto-charm. Like, wtf? Give Kinn and Khun a bit more credit than that, oooof.
