light thinks that he and L are basically soulmates, that they are the first two people in the history of humanity to ever be so intelligent as to connect on the level that they have, that the stars and galaxy and universe aligned, the gods passed their blessings, and fate itself shifted all so that they could meet as rivals. in reality they actually just have some pretty basic sexual tension, but light has been so heavily ascribed to such a viciously heterosexual view of romance and relationships (also: demisexual?) that he’s never experienced genuine sexual attraction before, so L blows his fucking mind.

L thinks light is his manic pixie dream girl.

It was before I got all the mutuals I have now so I don't expect anyone to remember it. Anyway, it's got a better pose, and better hands and Gem's hair is closer to her irl hair (I don't think I'd seen Gem's facecam this time last year!)

There’s something about Adam defending Gansey to Blue while also kind of defending him from himself, but also he’s probably glad to have Blue there partly because she’s like him enough to share some of his criticisms of Gansey and Ronan but because she’s less encumbered by performance she’ll just say these things and he gets to kind of play the opposite role while taking satisfaction that someone is saying them if that makes sense. Kind of goes along with him relishing Ronan’s shock when he invited her, yes he wants to go on a date with her regardless but like I said he could choose to do something else with her, but as someone hyper aware of power dynamics he wants her here to sort of be a barrier that keeps him from giving into being ‘one of Gansey’s things’ (him tightening his grip on her hand when Gansey’s looking is so. interesting) while also making himself seem more similar to / equal to them by comparison to her. There are posts I’ve seen mostly in older fandom that took Blue to task for kind of using Adam as an in to the group while also a barrier between her and Gansey / the fate she’s resisting and they aren’t incorrect that it’s unfair of her but I never find the sentiment of ‘pwoor Adam being used by Blue’ sympathetic because like, they’re pretty equal in that regard consistently. For reasons that make perfect sense for two inexperienced teens with a lot of baggage in their first relationship + … unconventional complications lol.

I finally got around to some worldbuilding notes, specifically on some of the more common pet-like animals across Illex

Moth cats are native to The Mirror Realm but are owned by people all over, they're the size of an average house cat and spend most of their time playing, sleeping or taking commands. Come in all colours and patterns but favour vibrant ones, wings can come in any shape or size. Largely started as working creatures and still retain those roots by enjoying physical tasks like fetching, digging or hunting

Silhouettes are creatures of pure void magic named for their mimic ability, where they copy the the shape [or silhouette, if you will] of a creature they're fond of. That can range from decent sized birds like ravens and macaws to any major sentient species or dragon, but they do have a default/normal form which can be between the size of a horse and a giraffe. They stay in the mystery realm because people who aren't used to them are understandably afraid of them and their habits to stalk and stare. Stray feral silhouettes getting lost in forests was the #1 cause for cryptid stories

Merbuls are essentially cats that look like sea slugs. They eat a lot, they laze around a lot, they like playing, and they are the leading cause of the tiny scratches water dragons have on their hands. Around the size of a medium dog or maine coon cat. They're cleaners with guts and teeth of steel, so their food mostly consists of food scraps, metal rust, bones and dead coral. They breathe both water and air but move better in the water

Snow weasels are self explanatory. They started off as common pets among snow dragons but slowly overpopulated once the Tundra dragons evacuated underground, and took over as the main inhabitants of the discarded Tundra city. They're capable of using metal rods and packed ice/stick combos as tools and weapons. They come in any pastel colour but favour white, greens and blues

HEY GUESS WHAT?? I just finished the full draft of my current supercorp fic and I am excited 😁

...Okay so it's a rough first draft that still needs a lot of editing and I haven't actually even done a cursory read through of the final chapter I just splurged out yet, BUT all of the chapters now exist and the plot is coherent, and this means that for the first time EVER with a long multi chapter fic I am not going to lose steam 2/3 of the way through and take a 6 month break from posting while I work out how to write what comes next!

Because I have written it!

Anyway I just wanted to celebrate that with someone and my wife is asleep, so you all get it instead.

Teenaged Danny and Bruce meet somehow and become friends. (Summer camp? Boarding school? Training? Gala with Vlad? Can't be a TUE au because the clones need to exist for this particular fic.)

They lose contact when Bruce drops off the map to train to be Batman.

In the meantime, Danny has ascended to the Throne of the Infinite Realms and established himself as some sort of paranormal archeologist in the living world. (It's easiest way to declare treasure from the King's Coffers to the IRS.)

After Vlad got redeemed ( l like to think after he got over himself and realized he was in love with BOTH Maddie and Jack), he turned over all his research to Danny. This includes the fragmented cores of all the Danny clones.

After an issue where Danielle was destabilizing again, they found that if they introduced another person's DNA, that she would stabilize. Sam volunteers. So Danielle is stabilized with Sam's DNA, however it ages her down so now she's her actual age, 11 at this time. Danny is 26, and ends up adopting her, she chooses the name Ellie. Ellie ends up with some of Sam's attributes, like her eyes turning more purple and her hair being easier to tame.

After some researching, it's found that the clone's cores could reform themselves if they can absorb enough healthy ectoplasm and a stable human DNA donor.

When Dan breaks out and is shoved into a clone body, he asks Valerie to be his donor, as she was the last person he had respected. He ends up at three years younger than Danielle. He prefers the name Dante. His skin is darker than it was, and his hair gains a wave to it when in human form, it's still flames when in ghost form.

The first of the failed clones to reform about 5 years later got some of Tucker's DNA. A pair of twins that have heterochromia with one piercing blue and one ocean teal eye, on opposite sides of course. They go by Kelly and Sprite. (they were the bedsheet and pixie ghosts) Somehow the genetics introduced while they were still dormant resulted in them both being girls. They appeared as 9 year-olds.

The last one took the longest to reform and when he did, he reformed as 6 years old. Obsidian used some of Wes's DNA. He got Wes's green eyes and freckles.

Danny is able to work with each of his adopted but also genetic children to harness their powers and helps them re-form their ghost halves so they can choose how they present themselves to the world instead of being locked into their original forms.

Fast forward about 9 years and the Fenton family is attending a gala at a museum that Danny is lending pieces to in Gotham. He ends up running into Bruce who is there with his gaggle of children. They end up getting lost in their conversation and are going over the different things they've been doing since they last saw each other. They end up dancing together at least once, Danny beaming and a quiet smile on Bruce's face not normally seen when he's in his Brucie persona.

Somehow the children of both of them have all found each other and are observing their respective parents closely, noting that they haven't seen their father look so besotted in a long time.

Numbers are exchanged and group chats are made. They plan to Parent Trap their fathers together.
