I refuse to believe the best years of my life are behind me. I refuse to believe the best years of my life are right now. I refuse to label my years as being the best of my entire life. Good times are always ahead. I have to believe there are always better times coming.

KIND REMINDERS 🤍
1. You are someone’s dream girl exactly the way you are right now.
We put so much emphasis on growth and getting to that “next best place”, which is fine, but we always forget that we deserve self-love as we are right now. It does not mean that you aren’t at your “best” physically and/or mentally that you aren’t deserving of love, kindness, and respect.
2. Perspective is everything
Stop stressing over that one bad grade you received at school. In ten years, you won’t even remember what teacher gave it to you. Focus your energy on things that’ll have lasting impacts. When you look back on your life, you want to see the beauty of it, not the anguish.
3. Growth isn’t linear
Don’t blame yourself for messing up. We aren’t perfect and we are bound to mess up every once in a while. Learn from your mistakes, and try to not repeat them. And if you do, that’s okay, there’s always another time. Growth has no time limit.
4. You are not a bad person
If you are sitting here constantly asking yourself if you are a bad person or underserving of love, I’m here to tell you one thing: bad people don’t worry about whether they are perceived as “good” or “bad”. Give yourself grace, and stop letting your overthinking consume you.
So much love,
A girl unfiltered 💋

A little cracked, but never broken. Still learning. Still growing.

i've always liked broken things. not because they're beautiful, not because they're tragic, but because they tend to hum when they shouldn't.
sometimes i press my ear against a chipped ceramic mug and pretend the hairline fractures are whispering something i forgot how to hear. sometimes i watch light spill through the cracked windows of my old apartment and wonder if that's what mercy looks like—when ruin tries to offer you warmth anyway.
people talk a lot about kindness like it's proof of healing. like when a hurt person decides to be good, they've triumphed. overcome. beat the unkindness into a lesson and emerged soft. i hear the quote passed around like gospel: "isn't it beautiful when kind people stay kind, not because the world was kind to them—but because it wasn't?”
it's always said with the kind of breath that trembles on the edge of reverence.
and i get it. i do. but you—yes, you—you know that's not the whole story.
no one tells you that kindness costs. no one mentions that sometimes the kindest people are just the most efficient bleeders. that their softness is not virtue but a refusal to weaponize what broke them.
they pour and pour and pour, and everyone claps, not realizing the jar has been cracked since the first shattering. not realizing the kindness is leaking. not realizing that pouring is another word for draining.
i think about you sometimes, especially in the late hours, when the ache in my chest shifts like unsettled ash. i remember the way your hands moved—how you never reached for yourself, only others. i wonder who taught you to cup your own suffering like it was water for someone else's thirst.
you used to say, "if i can make it easier for them, then it was worth it.
but worth what? your sleep? your bones? your blood turned so thin with giving it couldn't clot when it needed to?
i asked you once, "aren't you tired?" you laughed like i'd said something shameful.
kindness became your religion, and suffering your tithe. but god, how long can someone pour from a jar cracked at the base? how long before the kindness is just noise—an echo of something once whole?
they keep saying, "look how kind they are despite everything." i want to say, "look how they flinch when the door closes too loud." i want to say, "look at the shaking hands, the swallowed panic, the nights spent wide awake rehearsing apologies." i want to say, "look closely—see how they never take the bigger slice, never ask for seconds, never ask for anything."
you taught me kindness isn't always a choice. sometimes it's the only weapon a broken thing has left. not to harm, but to survive. a kind of armor made from the shards of your own glass, glued back together with hope so fragile it cracks when looked at too long.
i used to envy you. now i mourn you.
you're still here, of course. you smile when people need it, you hold their pain like a precious thing. but when was the last time someone held yours?
i want to ask those wide-eyed lovers of empathy: do you love kind people enough to let them rest? would you still call them beautiful if they stopped pouring? if they said no? if they turned the jar upside down and showed you: "i have nothing left."
no one wants to see that. they want the flood, not the drought.
but there is a holiness in empty, too. in saying "i cannot." in whispering "i've been kind so long, i forgot what it means to be held instead of holding."
so here, this is for you. no moral. no ribbon. no redemptive arc. just a hand, palm-up, not reaching to give or to take—just to be held.
isn't it beautiful, they ask.
i don't know.
i think it would be, if they ever noticed the cracks before they drank.

Maybe you’re graduating soon, or maybe you’re just at a point in your life where other people expect you to have hit some special milestone, but hey. It’s okay. It will all be okay. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t even have to have any of it figured out! You have time. And maybe you do know what you want your life to look like, but you don’t have the means to achieve it. And that’s okay, too. It will come. Take a deep breath and know that you don’t have to like where you’re at, but you do have to be kind to yourself. You deserve kindness.

It's ok to prioritize yourself sometimes. It's actually important to do because if you are constantly putting the needs of others ahead of your own, there is simply nothing left for you to give anyone, especially yourself. #LoveYourself #BeKind #KindnessMatters #ILoveMyself
