The last time your life was stable? Maybe this is how you prefer things. On the move constantly, not tied down to one person or place. You chase one goal after the next. Can you ever really feel complete without a place to land? Shouldn’t you build yourself a nest?

The sound of John Constantine’s incredulous voice entered the meeting room before his body did. “Fight an Infinite Realms ghost? Are you insane?! Do you want to get us killed?”

Zatanna spun and almost snarled at him. “What would you have us do then, Constantine? Maybe you’re okay with sacrificing people sometimes, but we’re the heroes. We can’t just let it keep wreaking havoc. There’s no reported deaths yet, but we don’t know how long that’ll last.”

He leaned against the wall nonchalantly and lit a cigarette. “Well, what’s it yelling about?”

“What?”

He took a long drag before continuing. “Realms ghosts– they’re basically immune to our magic, but they’re easy marks if you know how to deal with ‘em. They all have some sort of Obsession. Just work with that and they’re remarkably simple to manipulate.” His voice turned to a grumble, “Doesn’t mean they can’t be a huge pain in the fucking ass sometimes though.”

Tapping some ash off his cigarette, he looked straight back into the room again. “So… what’re they yelling about?”

I cannot wait for this Stan to reconnect with his Ford.

I still haven't figured out HOW exactly they'll meet yet, but I do think that Ford would ATTACH himself to Stanley and talk his ears off forever when they eventually get comfortable :] and Stanley would listen because HOLY SHIT, THAT'S HIS BRO HE HASN'T SEEN FOR 40-ISH YEARS, HE MISSED HIS VOICE. Stanley looks dead faced because of his ingrained poker face, but he's thouroughly enjoying it, even if sometimes he has no idea what the fuck Ford is saying. He never interrupts him though, since he knows people usually ignore or interrupt him mid-talk already. So sometimes Stan gets stuck in awkward situations where he has to leave or do stuff, but also doesn't have it in his heart to stop Ford and extract himself out of a (one-sided) conversation.

I adore the idea of Leo developing a love for glam rock not only because he likes the music but also because of how many glam rock bands had vibrant and extravagant eye makeup - looks that his own red stripes were right at home with.

Like just imagine a little Leo rifling through his dad’s music and choosing to vibe with glam rock specifically because he was like “:0! Like me!:)”

minkowski and hera (indirectly; to herself) are the only ones who call eiffel "doug", eiffel is the only one who calls minkowski "renée", hilbert is the only one who calls lovelace "isabel", and no one calls hilbert by (any of) his first names. kepler calls jacobi "daniel" and maxwell "alana", and maxwell and jacobi use each other's first names too, but neither of them ever calls him "warren" - the only person who does is rachel, while he calls her "miss young." pryce and cutter are the only people who use each other's first names (though cutter's habit of almost always only using first names is a whole other thing.)

Ok no bc to piggyback off that Mary post, this might be something people have been saying for a long time but I do genuinely think that Amara giving Dean “what he needs most” was not his mother but to break the idea he has of what a family is, and that’s part of what makes that arc so fascinating to me

The entire discussion was completely tangential to this but I partly misread a post as a joke to the effect that "Well, the people actually responsible for all the deaths in [game] are the devs", and tbh as a statement this is quite relevant to my main fandom.

I will write about it more at length one day, but to be concise — I do not think we can discuss questions such as "Why didn't the Valar do more?" and ignore the very doylist reason that if you've decided to have the spiritual embodiment of evil wage very physical war upon your heroes, you do have to come up with an excuse for why the spiritual embodiment of Good (I'm simplifying the moral pattern a bit here, but I don't want to discuss fictional theology at length right now and ultimately it all boils down to the same in this context) doesn't equally physically solve the problem for them — in order to even have a story.

As far as such excuses go, "the collateral damage — which the antagonist is the only one with approximately minus hundred reasons to care about — would be too high" is not a very poor one, but most of the surrounding discussion scrupulously avoids admitting why it even needs to exist.

just saw a post by goobiestar where tigerclaw has been put on babysitting duty and they doodled him surrounded by tiny babies thinking "i cant believe bluestar is making me babysit a bunch of drooling pathetic whiny pieces of--" and with bonefall tigerstar being a genuinely good dad (at least when his babies were tiny) i have this image in my head of firepaw imagining this is what's happening and then it cuts to tigerclaw calmly playing teeterstrike with the babies

I'm telling a super different story from the other guys in my orbit LMAO, I've noticed that also. A lot of my.... fellow satellites? Companion Comets. Peripheral Planets. Lean into the comedy angle of Tigerclaw being a nasty little boy

I especially love that one comic (I think it's Blimbo?) Where he sees his younger sibs and just starts kitty-smacking them like a real cat lmao. Top tier. If the punchline is "KITTY SMACK" you'll kill me every time.

But yah BB!Tigerclaw is really important to understand as like... a guy. Just a shitty guy, has some good things about him, but ultimately the darkness within him is run-of-the-mill. He isn't special. Firestar comes to understand that any one of the dozens of assholes in his life could have become Tigerstar-- and that's TERRIFYING.

Evil is mundane and common. Goodness is complicated and unique.

Episode 12 is a rollercoaster of emotions for Porsche, but Kinn stands by him through it all - even going so far as to resign from the mafia and settle into a quieter life in the Kittisawat home.

Except... did he?

It seems out of character for Kinn to give up being the head of the mafia - not because he's used to the rich lifestyle, like Porsche thinks:

(Though let's be real, Kinn - you absolutely do like living like that)

The reason it's off is that, up until now, we've always seen Kinn put his family first. And though he's clearly now thinking of Porsche (and Chay) as part of his family, it seems extreme for him to suddenly leave all of his responsibilities to his father - the man he believes needed Kinn to take over, because of his 'poor health'.

Maybe loving Porsche has finally given Kinn a push to be more selfish--

Or maybe, he isn't as out of the game as Porsche thinks.

Because one thing we never see Kinn do in this episode is take the family ring off.

So, was Kinn lying to Porsche here - trying to manipulate him into accepting the mafia life, once again?

I don't think so.

I think Kinn's support of Porsche throughout this episode came from a very genuine place. He probably had every intention of leaving the life - but, it isn't easy to turn away from the people you love, or the work you've spent your whole life training for. Maybe he held onto to some hope that Porsche would change his mind, after getting a chance to cool down, away from Korn.

Maybe he's just gotten so used to the weight of that ring on his finger that it would feel wrong to take it off.

Even for Porsche.

Technically also answered that one above, and he very much does. He mostly doesn't miss the mess of a flat he has waiting back in Baldur's Gate, but does feel bad for the various vines he got to grow around his bedroom walls that they're not going to be cared for in the slightest before he gets back.

☕️ HOT BEVERAGE — does your oc prefer coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, water, or some other drink? how do they like to take this drink (ex. coffee with milk, hot chocolate with whipped cream, a specific kind of tea, etc)?

He likes hot chocolate a good bit. His normal preference would probably be a good earl grey without anything needed to be added to it though.

🤍 WHITE HEART — what are three of your oc's neutral/questionable traits?

He keeps a list of whom of the companions he's most/least willing to sacrifice/prioritize were it to come down to it again following Shadowheart and Lae'zel's fight which he mentally shifts around constantly to avoid ever having to consider who he actually is going to side with on the spot, having only ever had a very small number of people whom he had any level of loyalty to.

I'm putting how manipulative he can be under neutral because sometimes it can be used for good. It isn't always. It usually isn't. But sometimes.

To a very small number of people, he's unflinchingly loyal. This should be positive, in him, it's hard to say.
