like i can get him off skyhold it’s just.. accounting for the out of character mood swings and also that there are now reports of a large beast going after the livestock around mistral after finnigan comes back early from travel because he was attacked by a strange aggressive Creature
still tryin to figure out how to finagle werewolf!finnigan au so that it’s not immediately obvious to everyone that finnigan is. yknow. a werewolf
#*deep space noises*#ehhhh maybe make werewolves a revived phenomenon so to speak?#like there are rare historical reports but nothing for a very long time so little precedent and understanding#and stick some existing reports of Large Beast around mistral#and if finn insists on going to mistral by himself then his personality changes are less likely to be noticed#until everyone is like oh fuck this and goes to check on him#ok…. this is workable#skylords

my mom (set designer) just got a call from a guy being like 'I'm working on an opera for the Municipal Theatre (huge theatre) and we want to do a big showstopping set for it, have you seen Les Miserables?'
#it was funny#she got out of the call and was like ok so explain it to me.#I explained the principle of the revolve and the smoke lights and shadows to her and she was like#DO YOU KNOW HOW EXPENSIVE IT WOULD BE TO MAKE A TURNTABLE IN THERE. WITH PEOPLE ON TOP.#'calm down mom I am getting to the workable parts. I'm just excited to explain the cooler part of the set'#'he said something about 'a barricade'?' 'yeah yeah so it's the city of Paris first and then it move like this [gestures with my hands]#it's made of pieces of wood and it's climbable you know and then it goes on the revolve and it spins around for certain scenes'#I showed her video of it#and she was like. but this is still way too expensive 🥺#I was still MOM I'M GETTING TO IT.#anyway I told her how the new version works and that this is probably within budget. But I wanted to explain the cooler version first. mom.

So I went on vacation from work so I haven’t been doodling, but I did take the time to reference this image of Cross.
He came out looking more flustered than angry, so I added a blush and now he’s cute :)
I also didn’t realize his straps were his straps until after I made it look like a hoodie line and then questioned by he has two hoods on. Oops. Mans is cold I guess lol 😂
Cross belongs to Jakei of course!!
#undertale#undertale au#cross sans#utmv#xtale cross#xtale sans#xtale#cross#this took me like 2 hours#we make mistakes into workable things#he’s cold ok#and flustered#traditonal art#fanart of my own#I think it classifies as fan art right??

// starter for @electricea
"Sorry um-- hello, a bit of an awkward question, if you don't mind,"
---- Of all things to happen on a regular day like this, maybe a small child with a giant metal stick and a moth nestled into his hair was the last thing anyone would expect. His face having a few fresh scratches and some older scars seemed like a bit much for a kid his age too. Frosting shifts his weight, visibly nervous to be approaching a complete stranger like that. Still, though. He was lost-- and had absolutely no god damn clue where in the Elders' names he was at all.
Last he remembers, he was investigating a new portal sighting. Not quite typical of an event within the New World, but it's weird that it's happened twice before today. Though upon getting there, something went down before the hunter woke up in the complete opposite of what a forest was.
A city. With architecture he didn't recognise at all and definitely not somewhere within his world
Poor child stood out amongst the folk like a sore thumb. Not to mention he was also carrying a weapon publicly. That much probably wasn't very welcome, if he had to guess. He's just thankful nobody seemed to address him directly and kept moving on by
Other than that, Frosting had run toward the first person he felt looked friendly enough to listen to him. Especially if he had to explain his current... situation
"Wh... where am I?"
#{ 🍧 } graceful almaria (ic)#{ ❄️ } clashing swords upon the rime (iceborne)#electricea#[ hi i hope his is ok!! if its not workable then lmk and i'll change it <3 ]#[ my starters are still rusty HAHA ]

Saw a video and it got me in a mood so i'm making this post.
I don't think people who have never been fat knows how fucking hard it is to find clothing for bigger bodies.
The first issue is finding stuff in your actual size. Because time after time after time and time again I've gone to a store and they only had small and medium sizes. Not even large. And this was not for a few clothes, no. It was for MOST clothes that I found interesting. And then the ones that were marked as large were simply not big enough.
And I know that the reason for that is that brands simply won't make clothes for fat people. It's that because it surely isn't because the large size is selling out fast. They just don't do it. And some people have the nerve to say 'well brands are not obligated to make sizes for everyone' yeah sure, but also, I can't walk naked on the street can I?
Like I don't get it. 'oh but we want our clothes to fit a especific body' so fucking make clothes that are supposed to fit bigger bodies. Doesn't have a to be a whole ass collection.
And then we get on the second problem which is making clothes for plus size people that are ugly as hell. It's always the same stuff: ugly florals, animal print that belongs in another decade, cold shoulders, that weird extra fabric at the end of a shirt to hide the belly, or just black/muted colors.
Like fun fact. If you have big boobs, the hardest thing in the world is trying to find a bra that comes in a color that isn't white, black or beige. Because trust me, I've spent 3 hours walking in the shopping mall and I couldn't find anything that fit my breasts that was like pink (and in that situation I needed a pink bra for a play).
It feels like most clothes made for plus sized people are designed with like 50+ year old white women in mind, and not even that demographic of people are wearing those clothes (my mom is a plus sized 50+ year old white woman and often talks about how ugly some clothes made for people her size are).
It's hard trying to develop your own sense of style when none of the clothes around you are in your size, and when they do, they are just not good looking to you.
But you wanna know what's the down right worst part? Do you know what fucking brand has clothes that look good and are amde for bigger bodies?
The goddamn cancer on this earth that is Shein.
I fucking hate shein. Fast fashion is killin the fashion industry, they literally have people working as slaves and many influecers buy shein clothes by the bulk only to then throw it in the trash. Shein is awful.
But. Unfortunetly, shein is the only place that I found that had clothes that fit me and looked good. I don't like that. I avoided buying from shein for the longest time ever, but jesus christ, when you can't find clothes anywhere else you get desperate.
I tried looking for other places. I tried looking at my local clothing stores and everything was too small for me. I tried looking at online small bussinesses but they either didn't make my size, or it was sold out, or the prices were very high. Tried looking at thrift stores, also didn't find my size.
I try not to buy too much from shein or to spend long periods of time in between buying, because again, I feel bad about buying there. I don't want to buy from there.
Clothing brands/stores gotta do better. And I don't think that's asking for too much.
#this is less polite as i usually am because i'm so fucking tired of this shit#like these brands make probably millions every year#why is it apparently too much to ask for clothes in bigger sizes????#like idk i think everyone should be able to buy clothes that fit them and look nice???#and like god i don't want anyone to come on here be um actually it's very hard for the clothing industry to be inclusive#bc this post ain't about that#this post is about how frustrating it is to find clothes when you're fat#and also don't come for me bc of where i'm buying some stuff from ok#i feel so fucking guilty every time i buy from there#and like my friends buy from shein like every other week practically#i usually buy from there every 6+ months or so#and it's usually like a dress or two#at least i know that I don't throw clothes in the trash#if there's something here or there that doesn't look amazing but it's workable i'll go to the seamstress#if it doesn't fit me at all (which is a risk that can happen with online shopping) i donate it#and i will wear clothes until i can't wear them anymore#and even when i can't wear them anymore they they are usually still in a good enough condition that i can donate it to charity#or to someone close to my family who might give it a better use#this is a very big rambling sorry about this it's just aaaaaaaaa#i probably should go sleep

Also I haven't painted on canvas in ages and I dislike it. I vastly prefer painting on a smooth surface like panel.
#i mean i also hate painting with watercolors on the rough textured watercolor papers too#its much harder to get the paint to do what i want - especially on the smaller scale#obviously i need to use a medium to mix with the paint to make them more workable but i havent found a good one yet for acrylics#and on panel i rarely need to#i bought a lot of heavy body acrylics from liquitex but honestly genuinely i prefer their soft body acrylics#i think golden brsnd even heavy body paints are probably better than liquitex's but the issue ive had is i cant fucking open the lids if i#dont keept everything super clean before putting the lid back on. and I'm a messy artist ok. but my hands are sensitive and those hexagonal#or whatever shape they are. theyre difficult and painful and liquitex are easy to open so rhey win.#but i definitely prefer a more fluid paint i dont need dimensional texture in my painting.#so now i have to slowly....buy more paint...

You have to develop mechanisms for coexisting with people who are different from you no matter what. "Segregate the world until I only have to interact with people who are Just Like Me" is not workable. "Suppress the expression of difference so that everyone has to pretend they are Just Like Me" is sometimes workable, but this website is generally full of the kind of weirdos unlikely to benefit personally from such an arrangement.
The only possible answer is to develop mechanisms by which people can coexist.
And if you already have the mechanisms within your bubble, it is pretty sensible to say "hey, we could try to coexist with those people outside the current bubble too, using mechanisms such as these". This is good. It's always rocky, there's always a negotiation and adjustment process, but in general it's beneficial for all the same reasons that learning to coexist with the people already in your bubble was beneficial. That was also rocky, and also took an adjustment process, before they were part of your bubble.
You can't conquer the world and remake it in your image. Not "you shouldn't", you can't. You also shouldn't, but you can't. You have to bite the bullet and realize that a world in your image will not exist, but maybe you and the other guy can figure out a world you can both be ok with.

Ok so maybe someone here can help because three search engines and reddit have failed to produce a workable answer.
Somehow, I turned off the sound when I get text messages in the messages app on Android. I do not know what I did, I was fumbling for it in the dark and when I finally looked at the screen, the app was closing before I could see what it was. I still get the notification bubble on my lock screen and up top when the phone is open, but my phone no longer chirps when I get them, so I will miss important things like "you need to wrangle your insurance to get your meds" from my pharmacy. It's the messages app specifically- calls, email etc all still make noise.
How the fuck do I turn the text message noise back on?

Hey! I just saw your reply to the post about knitting the national parks. If you haven't tried it yet, ladderback jacquard would probably be a really great option for managing those huge floats. Hope you haven't gotten a million of these, and good luck with your project!
(In reference to this post where I moan about liking the knitting pattern I’m doing, apart from the COLOUR FLOATS)
Oh my GOODNESS look at this:
youtube
That is QUIRKY AS HELL. Thank you so much!
However, while I wail and weep and moan, I don’t want to put people off this pattern entirely. “Great Basin” is not actually the WORST pattern in the world, and can be managed by wrapping colour floats every 4 stitches or so, in the Fair Isle method; we won’t die of doing this, nobody has ever died of doing this, and plenty of people with better brains can pull it off more gracefully than I have. Even I can do this, and I’m a hater.
Hang on lemme just curate my life pretentiously real quick, like a proper knitter, so that the parts of my life I reveal on the internet look desirable enough to make you think I’m a good knitter. OK. I’ve - I’ve got some wood grain visible, and a twee swan - I feel comfortable. I could almost do Instagram.

Here’s my messy backside 😌 you can see it’s irregular, and you wouldn’t say I was managing it gracefully, but it won’t kill anybody. I am a massive hater but the pattern IS technically workable and feasible. try Great Basin today!
I LOVE this new technique! thank you so much!

what do you think of stolas and asmodeus's relationship?
Ooof... Ok I think Asmodeus has a problem with neurodivergents, and Stolas is very obviously autistic. (And it'll take a bit of explaining cus I do really like Ozzie. But I think this is where he's going to get character growth. So sorry for being slow).
They are very unlikely to ever be close friends; because of Ozzie's bullying, even when he gets passed it.
Stolas looks extremely worried to find out Ozzie's there when we first met him.

But no, I don't think they'll ever really be friends. (But I'm can see Stolas and Fizz becoming friends though).

It's really good writing to have the carer to his physical disabled partner, be bit ableist to invisible disabilities.
Ozzie's a fairly lovely guy otherwise, so it's nice reminder that anyone can be guilty of this.

"Asmodues can be very invasive in his humour. But I thought it was pretty funny myself. What he said about me at least. I enjoys being the subject of jest. Maybe you can say mean things to me too next time you come over" (text from Stolas to Blitz).

His text shows this isn't the first time Ozzie's done this. It's normal for Ozzie to grab him and taking the piss out of him.
"He enjoys being the subject of jest" because it's always just a joke, and Stolas is always the punchline.

Then there's Ozzie behaviour in Opps, like how he reacts during Stolas' appointment. Showing up four hours late without even apologising. (Stolas is just days out of the hospital).
And Ozzie's basically pissed off for Stolas existence during the whole of it.
Getting annoyed at very petty things like Stolas not taking the right seat, and giving him a real answer to a verbal wallpaper question "Still gettin' yo' kink on with that feisty imp?"
He doesn't actually want to know the answer; even though it's the whole reason for the meeting, and treats all Stolitz could be as a race kink. Fizz would probably have been annoyed by that microaggression.

Then Ozzie assumes that Stolas wants to drug and rape Blitz. Assuming the worst of autistic people motivations is unfortunate common ableist microaggression.
It gets much more obvious when Stolas volunteers to help get Fizz home safe; Ozzie's behave gets worse.
With Ozzie being irritated that Stolas stop him signing the first contact, that would have allowed Crimson to decapitate Fizzarolli.

Stolas is so happy be able to use his special interest to help. But Ozzie is extremely unimpressed and angry because of Stolas' stimming.
Then after Stolas quickly writes up a workable deal, and the lawyer is slow; Ozzie sets Stolas on fire.

Through the 11 hour kidnapped Stolas faces all of Ozzie's anger and aggression, right till Fizz come back. Then it's directed at the lawyer, who up till then is only told to read faster.

Ok so he needs the lawyer alive and unharmed to rescue Fizz right?
So that means Ozzie is 100% capable and aware of controlling his anger.
But is choosing to take it out on the guy giving him help. That's like being a dick to your nurse because you're in pain. It's understandable but still a shite thing to do.

Then there's Ozzie being ungrateful callings 11 hours of free help, expecting nothing in return; as being "stuck with Stolas all day".
Some neurotypicals really do just hate you on sight for missing social cues, and Ozzie is being that guy. Even after Stolas saves his lover's life.

And he does the same thing when Stolas does what Fizz was begging him to do; save Blitz from being executed. Unable to hide his irritation.

He really complains that the free help he receive is comes from someone he finds annoying.
Even if Ozzie grows up, and takes ownership of his bullying behaviours; I can't see it as healthy for Stolas to be perfectly ok with him after this.

Actually I may or may not have told about my project so Imma tell again!
So for those who dont know, Im studing becoming a cobbler! So I make and maybe repair shoes and other kind of leather products too (havent really decides that)
SO. Im currently on a pattern making course, which has been quite tedious and tiring work, cause gotta make sure verything is exactly and not off by mesurements (just eikä melkein in finnish xD)
Since I started my school and also Im a submas fan, what a better way to merge my interests and make their shoes! The original, butlermas and sygna suit ones!
Not gonna lie... they have been causing me quite the headache in terms of how to turn them real workable shoes but still having the submas vibe. I started from the "easiest" aka butlermas shoes... by easiest I mean that i dont have to think about boot mesurements which is an another can of worm...
anyway, in a way I can comfortably that submas shoes as is are ass. Like they do not work as shoes. Which is causing me pain because on top of thinking about mesurements and stuff, I still have to design them to be workable. For drawing purposes I they are fine but wearable... nah.
Like, the og ones are missing a piece of a sole? Butler and sygna ones are better, cause they have that curve like normal ones. No visible seams? ...ok I let that bit slide cause when drawing shoes, you dont really think about them being wearable. Just that they look cool and all.
BUT. Luckily I have found something for the buttler shoes which look EXACTLY how they would be, if they'd be wearable! Which is def helping me. But behold!

These are exactly how I'd imagine the shoes to be, and my teacher also agrees this design being good for the shoes! Of course, the image ones will look diffirent from my pattern and prototype but the pretty spot on right?
Here is the quick comparison. Red line is the og, while blue is the "realistic" one. Quite the diffirence, right?

So far havent done much, but so far it looks nice! First Imma just do general patterns and see do I need changes, but when the time comes, I will make them for my legs spesificly! ...and maybe someday for others but we'll see.
Even if Ingo and emmet has the same shoes, I'll be making Ingo's cause white is not really the nicest color to work with. Plus I prefer them being darker color to soo xD
I probably will share more updates to this project so stay tuned for that! ...I could use the tag "soupmas shoes" so it'll be easier to find xD

The big art post !! the behind-the-scenes of the tribalhunter PNGtuber stuff ! At least on the art side-- I can talk about the coding mechanics but that's not quite my place to. The high-level overview of that is there's some cool stuff going on with memory wrappers and godot to get stuff shake'n and jamm'n The rest of it is below the cut just so you don't have to scroll tons if you don't care, but take some time and read !! 3 days of work y'know !!
The first sketches were started at 10 pm tuesday the 15th. I tweaked it with some edits until about 1 am
For people working on pngs or long term projects -- make notes !! genuinely !! you can see "ok what was i thinking when i did this" and it made like infinitely easier. You might notice that stage 2 png was not long for this world -- we ended up cutting that one and shifting 3-5 down a stage, and just making a larger final stage. The night ended with: these!
Larger final, we moved where some hands ended up, cleaned some notes, and so on
Wednesday I got to work
on some second pass ones, e.g., cleaner lineart. Mind you, not final! To have proper safespace with the png we had to make actual layered sections to avoid ripped seams on squashing and stretching and rotating and etc.
These also had the first of the talk sprites! I don't do entirely new sprites for the talking ones just because of the pure quantity of images. So, just an arm tilt and head angling. This means we have mute and a talk variants of a few sprites (e.g., the stage 1 is 3 sprites. Body, scarf flappies, and head. We have talk versions of the body and the head). Also, he used to have nips! there was going to be a slightly darker purple but we scrapped it for . well . obvious reasons. We went with classy scarf modesty.
This is how you know you're doing well!
Thursday I started on the finals!
This was the first one sent -- showing off the layers. Tip, I used to layer based on like "back arm" "head" "fore body" etc. It's weirder to get used to when you use numbered layers, but holy shit it made importing easier. You automatically know the layer order to put them in to avoid clipping. Getting these done I got to work on testing 'em too!

this gave us our first working model! Oh, he used to have black robes too! this was to match the custom ingame sprites he got, but the color wasn't quite popping enough. The scarf saturation would later be turned up too, and more color adjusting. But this was workable! A lovely demo. All that was left was design tweaks and the talk sprites!
Friday was dedicated to
figuring out the colors and the talk sprites. For giggles, here's a bunch of variants produced!
We changed the robes, the scarf tone, and his lower gradient. neat Brave fact, his design has a gradient! It's horrible for gif compression! With all that done, then came doing well . all of the sprites!
Note, the talk sprites had some copied mute ones for visual reference. Gotta be consistent! It was at this point the pngtuber was "done", so to speak. Talk sprites worked and everything uh . jiggled right. But I still had a whole weekend! There wasn't as much photo evidence. What WAS changed between then and the final was: 1) the gradient was shifted to be a smooth curve instead of dappling 2) the talk sprite for stage 5's beak was fixed to remove a tangent line 3) the belly for stage 5 was rounded out to be more consistent with the game (less "doughy" to quote) 4) we added another sprite for the arm on stage 5 to layer better. Those changes weren't done until about Saturday, and then the code was tweaked all the way up until adding damage and transition effects on sunday and monday!
P.S., the model still clipped in the end a little! The code did some growth based on the fullness factor and . uh. wow!
twitch_clip
Anway woo !! that was some wip photos and stories, I wish there was more of an intense struggle to tell but it was pretty quickly done. My shoulderblade hurts a bit to tell the truth and I think I overdid it on the pace but hooray!

The primary alteration I did was insert a drawstring in most of the waistbands of my skirts step one is to unpick about 3-5in of the center (ish) of the front of the skirt (or wherever you're sticking your grommets and tails)

I used a pair of pins to mark the start and end of my section. There's two rows of stitching at the waistband you'll have to undo.
The next thing you'll need to do is poke your holes for your grommets (grommets are important to prevent wear on the waistband and unraveling)

Because the materials you are setting the grommets in are very stretchy you want to make that stretch work to your advantage and make the tiniest hole you can get away with (if your hole is too big the material will stretch away from the grommet and the grommet will fall out) I found that only cutting vertical threads in the elastic worked best (and not more than like 3) I used the tip of my seam ripper to gently move the threads over to the sides of the grommet.

The placement of your grommets is very important. You need to make sure there is roughly 1/2 in between the edge of the grommet and the end of your open section so you can fit your setting tool in and that the pair of grommets are not too close together (for me that is about 1-3 in apart, you do want to be able to bridge that gap with your lace)
Next you will thread your drawstring. I'm using 72in shoelaces, use whatever you like. I chose shoelaces because they come with nicely finished ends, are fairly durable and come standard in several sizes. Whatever you use you'll want it to be about 16in longer than your body's widest point (roughly 8in per end to tie with at the most relaxed)

Now while you can feed it without a tool (so long as it has a hard end you can feel and move from outside the waistband a safety pin works ok in a pinch) I strongly recommend using a tool of some kind. The ideal tool for the job is a bodkin (a clamping lacing tool specifically designed for this sort of thing) of course I have consistently failed to aquire one for the last decade or so so I'm using a pair of clamping tweezers (not ideal but workable)
You'll also want to secure the other end (not the feeding end, I usually feed it through the eyelet and tie a decent knot in it and that'll handle it. You will want to start feeding into the waistband on the same side as the eyelet you used as an anchor and away from the other eyelet
Some tips for feeding drawstrings (particularly those paired with elastic)
-Feed your drawstring a few inches then grip the waistband and string in one hand while shoving the gathered material away towards the other end of the channel
-The seams and pockets are the fiddliest bit but a bit of careful wiggling will get you past them (it is an open channel all the way around!!) DO NOT force it gentle wiggling is your friend
-Your hand will probably get tired after a bit don't hurt yourself and feed the next one the opposite way.
-Because of the construction of these skirts I ended up feeding my drawstring along the outside of the elastic inside the outer portion of the waistband feeding from the same side as your drawstring is much easier (even though your grommets are in the inside of the skirt)
Once your drawstring is fed through you are on to the next tricky bit. Sewing.
You probably can hand sew it. I didn't. I'd guess that an invisible hem stitch and a running stitch might be the best way to do that but ymmv. I did mine on a machine, which had it's struggles but also was easier for me.
Sewing directions wil be continued in the reblog because I seem to have hit the image limit.
