Chaos magic I don't think is as chaotic as people think. Chaos is more like not seeing or understanding the pattern of something, but everything has a rhyme or reason chaos magic is just rare so people don't know how it works and it probably works very differently than other magic and doesn't have an easy to see pattern (when people don't understand how things work, they become afraid of it). Therefore it's chaos. Chaos tends to have a bad rap but it is not always bad. It just needs to be understood and once it's understood it's no longer "chaos" and is instead another form of magic (that is most likely more powerful than the other forms), but magic itself isn't good or bad it's the person wielding it that makes it One way or the other.

I'll also share my own thoughts about it: I know the whole "Harbinger" thing doesn't mean that he brings chaos, but the connection between that kind of energy and MK for me it always has been "cool, he is a SYMBOL of chaos" like, he's a big ass chaos flag that, once born, has been flying screaming at everyone "HEY YALL! IT'S CHAOS TIME SOON!". Like, the chaos that is coming is literally the primordial chaos that will come once the cycle end because from it must start a new one. But it would make sense that, since there seems to be a whole ass society of people in the chaos realm, that he would at the very least be one of them, like when you are sending someone from your country as an ambassador to give a message

Ooooh boy, I hope this reaches you on time (my home in the Pacific Northwest is eight hours behind you. Time zones are a bitch to monitor XP).

Anyway, here's some stuff for you!

I made this the previous year and originally planned to submit when it was his birthday but I chickened out at the last second.

I'm honestly really proud of how this one turned out even though I took some liberties with Zavok's design (I'm aware he doesn't have much of a chin, but oh well). I also came up with that pick-up line on my own :D

I thought I'd give him some minions. As for why they've got such basic designs, I made them up on the spot. Guy on the left is supposed to be a fox while the guy on the right is a comodo dragon. I didn't give them names or a backstory. As far as I know, they're just blank canvases. You can do whatever the hell you want with them.

I feel like a lot of folks tend to forget that this dude's not all sunshine and sweetness. I find him super fascinating only because I've never seen a character who's both a fasion designer and a mob boss. That's such a unique combination!

I do have more thoughts, they're super disorganised but I'll try!

Brief back story:

Marc and Pecco are both not directly in line for the throne, because I'd like to disenfranchise them a little. It's very much a symbolic marriage to bolster the peace of two kingdoms, and neither of them have that much choice in the matter.

Marc is the eldest first cousin of the regent, he has a very mixed reputation because he was publicly blamed for screwing up his first arranged marriage in his youth and causing a disaster for bilateral relations, but he has since taken a long break from romantic pursuits and ascended military ranks rapidly on merit. He has been a General since he was twenty-eight. Marc's first priority is family and an immediate second is his passion for national security, so despite his free-spirited nature, he accepts the necessity of marrying for utility instead of love.

Pecco is nobility, but too distantly related to the throne for it to be relevant. What is important is that he is the esteemed Valentino Rossi's prized protégé in diplomacy. (Vale himself is fifth in line to be king, with a noteworthy record in foreign relations and brokering difficult peace agreements, except for the stain of a failed arranged marriage. But this is not about him!)

With the ghost of Vale advising his life decisions, Pecco has many reservations about his impending marriage, but this is his attitude towards the task (direct quotes which is insane to me, I love Pecco's brain):

"It’s true that, in the past, I had some moments where I wanted to maybe change, but it’s not correct.”

"In my opinion, if you take the words about something and if you sign something, you must respect it."

"I think that’s the correct thing. It’s like a marriage: if you decide to go forward you must give your maximum to make your life happy."

Definitely a recipe for an enduring marriage:)

About the chess game:

The advisors deem it necessary for Marc and Pecco to bond frequently during the period of their engagement, because they do not fall in love in first sight. It's not a convincing relationship for anyone with eyes, which defeats the purpose the PR marriage.

Since Pecco makes the trip to Marc's family's palace for one of these meetings, Marc compromises on the bonding activity by playing chess, because out of the list of boring indoor hobbies submitted to him by Pecco's advisor (including assembling lego bricks, debate club and trivia), he finds the prospect of it the least painful.

They dress up smartly for the game so some nice photos can be taken, but after that it is a private affair.

It goes alright at first. Marc is immediately bored because Pecco is taking the chess game veryyy seriously, even though it doesn't count to his FIDE rating. Marc looks good for this stupid PR game and Pecco is thinking deeply about where he should move a pawn. They're not bonding, they're just playing chess.

Then Marc realises that he is losing badly and he hates it, so he locks in and tries to play. But for all that he is a good military strategist, he's more of a hands-on kind of person than a chess player. Marc briefly considers allowing the game to play out and end normally, but that doesn't achieve anything useful and Pecco won't get to know him better. He doesn't want to be on his best behaviour for the rest of his life. So he decides to be his true self and swipe away or shift random pieces when Pecco is distracted.

Pecco obviously notices. He accuses Marc of cheating and tells him to move the pieces back, but Marc denies it with the widest, least believable grin. They continue to play. Marc has more fun, now that he can tease an increasingly frustrated and demoralised Pecco. He thinks he can finally imagine some form of a future for them, as long as Pecco can put up with it.

And Pecco does put up with it. It's a decent show of character to Marc, that he would continue to try to win this meaningless rigged game. Marc has a soft spot for competitive people.

On Pecco's part, he watches Marc strip off the suit jacket and loosen his tie and roll up the sleeves of his perfectly starched shirt, and he thinks that Marc must be doing it on purpose to distract him, but he has no evidence.

Then Marc starts to smile at him as though he is enjoying himself, and he has very nice teeth, must have gotten some expensive dental work done when he was younger. He has smile lines on his face that make him look his age, but it's not a bad look at all. In contrast, he doesn't have the hands of royalty. As he fiddles with a chess piece, Pecco cannot help but notice his large, calluosed fingers. He is very distracting and he is playing with Pecco because he lacks some morals.

Pecco is frustrated and annoyed. His cock is hard, and he always hates wearing pants that have a zipper when his cock is hard, but he has no choice but to complete this obligatory game and meeting, so he just tries to win at chess. He needs to work hard to make this marriage work, since Marc compromised by picking his game. Pecco has a duty to his country, his people, and to the engagement agreement he put his signature on.

It is a challenge because every time he stands to subtly adjust his pants, something else goes awry on the chessboard.

Marc has his shoe pressing against Pecco's cock under the table long before he can put Marc's king in checkmate. They don't finish the game.

Another reason they’re both my fav and I think they’d share perfectly is that in my headcanon they both sound be such sweet partners and like wouldn’t mistreat women, but deep down they’ve definitely got something a bit dark about them.

I love to imagine for this reason that they’re both into some pretty debauched sexual displays of real dominance and submission, and devotion - service submission being one for sure and also marking, breeding, piss, orgasm control, free use, punishments especially spanking, lots of groping and objectification etc. Even like tattoos omg. And what’s best is, like with their job, they kind of know they should be ashamed at this dark side, but they can’t bring themselves to because they don’t care enough, plus I think they do both have big egos/are super confident, so getting to feel like her god just feels correct to them. They would take immaculate care of you, but deep down they know they’re not good men, and yet they don’t care that they don’t deserve you.

I also think that as men who have so much intelligence and skill, their confidence in their decision making is pretty uncompromising. They’d always wanna know if their pretty girl was upset or didn’t like something, and they’d do whatever to make her happy, but I do lowkey think that they’re a bit, um *traditional* (sexist) in that they believe they know best, and they’d prefer (expect) that most of the time their sweet girl lets them take care of the decision making. A girl that respects their experience and authority and chooses to seek their guidance and surrender herself to their care, I think, would make them so happy. Like I think they’re both get off at their girl asking their advice on any personal matter with friends or at work, and I think they’d lose their mind at the prospect of like picking out her clothes, putting her in whatever they eat. I volunteer for sure.

I adore your intuition that they'd be overall "good" men in their treatment of you, but would cross the line (or tread on it heavily) when they felt the need for it. First off, I freaking love your comics. They are the reason I wake up way too early some Saturdays and actually sleep Friday nights (not tonight obviously, but still!) it’s so much fun waiting for the next update because I know it’s all going to be AWESOME!!!!

Seriously though it was because of your art that I was able to draw Casey Jones, and have him turn out so good!!!! I wnded up loving how he looked because I totally used your comic panels as references. I was even able to submit an accordion book of Casey WIPs for my last art class of high school!! I’m not the most confident artist so my personal style is whack, sometimes it’s recognizable and sometimes it’s just shapes on a page, but I enjoy writing and painting. Traditional art kicks my backside dang hard, girl. Btw what do you use to create the comics? I think I remember a post a while back about an iPad, but I don’t know.

I honestly was so freaking panicked when I realized Donnie was flipping dying but calmed a bit since then knowing we’re nearing the end, but I’m wondering how many updates there will be left because the family should probably get back to being turtles and Donnie having that self acceptance about being a turtle. If that’s where you decide to take the story, but comfort is definitely needed for the poor guy. *hugs Donnie and offers hand for you to join bc we all know this turtle be needing some love rn with all the glorious angst that be happening*

OMG THAT’S SO AWESOME! I’m so happy my comics were able to help you with an art assignment! And hey, I didn’t use to be a good artist either, just keep working at it and you’ll get better and better! They say it’s 100 hours to be proficient, 10,000 to be a master.

Yes! I use an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. The app I use is called Clip Studio Paint, it’s a bit complex, but once you get the hang of it it’s incredibly powerful and has a lot of tools. I was able to learn how to use it in a weekend so it’s too insanely complicated.

lol, don’t worry! They all become turtles in the end! (The next episode they mutate back) There are currently 2 more updates left for you guys and then it’ll be on to Indie TMNT! I very much hope to get it printed, I have some ideas of how to make it easier/cost me less, but I’ll have to see how it all goes.

I'll be happy with just about anything, it just is so sweet that people want to draw me anything at all. if you're curious I do technically have a sona I guess it's called? it started with my super cool pfp on twitter drawn by the lovely @aweirdlisa which is me but, like, with kind of a bee themed outfit going on and a cool skeleton arm and leg? and then for my past birthday the amazing @firexima drew that same sona that lisa had drawn me which is now my tumblr pfp here, so yeah. my sona is basically just girl with short blonde hair and bangs, wearing a tank top kind of designed to look like a bee and with bee wings, usually holding a book and pencil, and with an optional skeleton arm lol. Omg guys!!! King of Smoke and Ash vol. 1 is finally available on Amazon as an Ebook! I’m so happy because this marks another big checkpoint in this journey. I made sure to include everyone from KV, Ream, and Tumblr in the acknowledgments!

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to enroll the book in the Kindle Unlimited program. In order to put a book in the KU program, it cannot be available online anywhere else. I love Ream and everyone here so I would never remove it, especially without warning.

Next, I am going to work on the paperback edition. It’s going to be a little bit more work so I don’t know how long the process is going to take. I expect it to be up sometime next week.

I don’t know if y’all use Goodreads but I’m submitting it today so that you can add it to your reading challenge or leave a review.

I'm over the moon when comments go into a little bit of detail on which parts especially resonated with them 🥹 It doesn't even have to be super long, I just absolutely love when certain details or sentences are being appreciated <3

One comment that flattered me in particular stated how they didn't even care about the fandom or character but ended up reading all of my fics nonetheless because they enjoyed the writing so much. They then proceeded to tell me how I should be writing for a living and they used to work in the publishing world and my stuff is better than "95% of people that submit stuff for consideration" 😭😭😭 I don't think I will EVER recover from those generous words 😭 It literally makes me feel conceited just citing this because like- 😭 girl asdfg

💕 What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?

From my long Henry Creel phase in 2022, my favorite is still Running in the Night, because it gets very trippy and takes a lot of liberties with the canon, so it's almost a little bit of an original work if you squint (me being delulu)

From my current obsession of the year, I think I'll have to say my favorite Feyd fic would be Night Crawler even though it's basically just three loosely connected parts with little plot. But it was so fun to play with a trope that I had sort of considered taboo in my mind before >:3 lactation kink ashdfg

You did your big one with the last update.  I was on an emotional roller coaster. It took me almost 2 hours to read all 23K words because I had to stop several times to process my emotions with our couple. OMG so many feels and my babies I was just drowning right now, like their lack of emotional maturity, it’s so pitiful to see play out I feel like they are definitely sabotaging their own happiness and as much as I want to be mad, considering both of their backgrounds, it makes sense. it also is why they are so perfect for each other so it’s hard no scratch that is painful to see them  be a part when we know they are so much better together. Sorry my mind is all over the place. I hope for JK’s sake Namjoon has a wife. When the two families history was being revealed I really thought Daddy Jeon maybe had an affair with her mom so I was totally shocked that isw as an emotional affair with Mr Ri , like shocked stupid . Ugh I love how Hobi is all for family and willing to there fore JK at anytime . I hate how she feels that burden to server the family/company . But I do feel that JK is now being punished for something outside his control . I am drawing a parallel of how her crazy father lead to him being left in the rain as a kid and now her moms history with the company is leading to him being left by the women he loves now . It makes me question the string of fate that connects them , is this string a string of destiny or a noose that will burden their relationship to be ill fated . I am on the edge of my seat waiting for them to follow up now that everything is out in the open.

In a perfect world OC works for RKive and has a longstanding partnership with the Arts Center , I marry Yoongi and we all live happily ever after . Also I am curios where the hell is JK’s older brother at , do we know as readers . Will the family’s all reconnect at some point . Which supporting character delivers the speech to push OC to analyze her feelings for JK and his words . Is the ex boyfriend gone for good . Anymore plot twists , I am going to be up all night now .

And lol at the thought that there could've been an affair haha someone said that, too! But no, it's actually much more painful. And true, JK's experiencing all this and it's out of his control - he loses whether he asks OC to stay or lets her go. It's similar to her feeling selfish whether she resigns or not. We lose something with every decision we make but like Mr Ri said, we have to make them; it's the only way we can stand by them.
