Dear refugees, as someone who used to be on both Twitter and Reddit but who uses Tumblr the longest of all sites (besides Youtube):

like if I want to compliment a random stranger's artwork (I assume I'd do that in the replies rather than a quote reblog or whatever the word there is), is that ... allowed? or is that seen as strange? and if I re.... what's the equivalent of reblogging over there? reposting sounds like I'm downloading and posting other people's artwork as if it's my own LOL, and it can't be re-tweet because that was twitter-specific. but if I "reblog" a bunch of other people's artwork, is THAT weird or annoying to do? I like to spread other people's art when I can but I also don't want to blast people with ten posts within five minutes if that's considered annoying ^^;;

and is using tags seen as a faux pas in some circles? like is it considered to be attention-seeking behaviour? or how about sharing your age - is that seen as a thing that only foolish young people do? (these are mostly questions that I like to know the answers to so that I can decide how much of my awkwardness or fool-like behaviour will be on display LOL)

I try not to care too much what people think of me but I do not want to be bumbling around like a fool and making people unnecessarily uncomfortable, you know?

Hello, Hooligans! I’m the Frutiger Mortis Queen, but you can call me Queenie. Iiiii guess I’m on Tumblr now, one of the most morally aggravating social media sites out there. It’s taken me this long because I’ve been banging my head around on whether all this unagreeableness is really worth the more tempting aspects. Then, I had a talk with my Mom: She said that I can only control me and if I see anything that genuinely upsets me, I can just move along, knowing that whoever posted it is still a child of God going through their own thangs. She also reminded me that as we transition into adulthood, our carefree innocence needs to make way for knowledge of the darker parts of the world, that way, we can change things for the better (Things within our own control, of course).

What will really keep me sane and happy, however, is MODERATION (Too much exposure to upsetting stuff will still depress me); I won’t be too active on the browsing and scrolling side of things, more so just sharing my own stuff and having fun with other fans. One last thing my Mom told me during our talk is that I don't have to truly connect with anyone on the art community like I would any of my close IRL Friends. Friendship comes at differing levels, including those I just like to have fun with and not much else and that's cool with me. Most importantly, I have a life and a grand purpose outside of the internet and nothing can top that, especially not Tumblr.
