u actually never once have to pretend that it was ever ok what the democrats dod to this country and to Biden himself. the level of elder abuse to make an 80-fucking-year-old man the president of the united states is appalling. perhaps the only thing more appalling than the abuse that represents towards the person is the abuse it represents towards the people/country/world.

yeah, Biden had competent (if do-nothing) democrats around him and the Person of the President isn't nearly as important as the Office of the President, and yet with all of that being true, it was still fucked up to let the most powerful person in the world be someone in the midst of age-based mental decline. whether or not the old person in question wanted it. im sure my decrepit grandpa would Love to do more yard work, doesn't make him any more capable of doing so.

the right answer is never to lie. u can point out how bad the trump situation is without ever having to pretend the Biden situation was acceptable or non-abusive. even in decline, biden was worlds better than trump, but that doesn't mean he wasn't in decline.

The fact they keep referencing Eddie’s lying on the show and in interviews has me giggling and kicking my legs and twirling my hair.

It’s almost like we’re meant to read into the fact Eddie’s not always being truthful - with himself and others. Almost like, I don’t know, him going to confessional and telling a priest that he lied to everyone in his life and then later him telling that same priest that he’s straight might possibly be showing us Eddie not being truthful with himself or others!!

Made my very own tiny dungeon meshi dragon plush, that’s based on the version that only appears in the very last chapter for five pages and then is never seen again. I think it turned out pretty well.

I used this pattern to make it with some minor tweaks to the body, tails and legs and then just made some tiny cones for the horns at the end. If anyone would be intersted I might post the alterations and where to apply them but go check out the original pattern! I stuffed it both with acylic stuffing but also some plastic pellets for a bit of extra weight. The eyes are done with french knots.

Going to be adding manga spoilers below the read more with pictures of what I tried to get it to look like.

Do whatever you want forever, however the fun of Dark Sun and Nexus' relationship is that it is toxic as hell. I don't want to see Dark Sun be a good brother to Nexus I want to see him sweetly claim the title of brother to further manipulate and use him. A real Sun and Moon duo where the Moon is the victim in this situation (Eclipse n Lunar are close but they're not Sun and Moon). Nexus left a situation where he thought he was being used and not treated as his own person, but jumped into a new one that's truly like that but 100x worse. Dark Sun well and truly hates Nexus and everything he represents to the core he is in danger here. But Nexus will pretend it's okay because Dark Sun says all the right things to his face, and deep down he knows he burned too many bridges to go back to his real family anyway.

Content: (loosely) based on that phantom parade scene of gojo throwing a fit bc he ate something spicy after going on that treasure hunt thing (I know I’m so late idk if anyone will get that reference anymore), fluff, are they lovers or not? idk you can decide

One distressed phone call has you sprinting from your office to some random alleyway in the middle of the city. You’re nervous to see what could make the Gojo Satoru sound so…afraid?

The grip around your phone tightens as you navigate through the bustling streets of Tokyo. You zoom in on the map, trying to sort out which little lines will take you to Gojo’s live location (which he insisted on sharing with you months ago, on the basis that you did the same.)

It doesn’t take you long to zero in on him.

“What took you so long?” Gojo cries out, “I’ve been dying for the last 15 minutes!”

You scan him for any signs for external injury. But that’s impossible, you think, he’d never let his technique down long enough for that to happen. Internally maybe? Did he ingest poison? Was it starting to affect his brain? You’re not sure what you’d explain to Jujutsu Headquarters if you bring the strongest back to them dead.

“I think this might be the end,” he sniffles. “There’s still so many things I want to do. Like trying that new teppanyaki place in Roppongi. Hey, you think they’re taking reservations right now?”

It’s decided. The only thing wrong with Satoru Gojo is his frivolousness. Maybe what’s wrong with you is that you’re willing to drop everything for him at the simple call of your name.

“Gojo.”

“Satoru,” he chirps.

“Satoru.”

“Yes, my pookie bear?”

You click your teeth in annoyance. “Don’t call me that. What happened?”

“Attempted murder,” Gojo deadpans. Instead of elaborating, he pulls out a piece of candy from his pocket and unwraps it. He proffers the treat to you, slapping your hand away with a frown when you reach for it. “Say ahhh~”

You roll your eyes and sigh. You know him well enough to know he wouldn’t poison you. Knowing Satoru, he probably just got a treat that wasn’t sweet enough for his eccentric tastes. Gojo shoves the candy in your mouth the minute you open it the smallest amount. He waits for your critique, nodding as he says, “Gross, right? Why is it so spicy? I thought my tongue was going to fall off.”

Your eyes light up as the flavors of the curry-flavored candy dance in your mouth. “This is so good! You’re such a baby, Gojo. It’s not even spicy.”

Horror paints Satoru’s face. “It is! My mouth feels like hell. Your tastebuds must be broken or something,” Gojo huffs, crossing his arms petulantly, giving him the appearance of an overgrown child. “And who makes curry flavored candy anyways?”

“Why don’t you just use your technique or something? Make it so that the food doesn’t touch your tongue?”

Gojo looks at you incredulously before he blanches. “Unlike you, I actually care about what I put inside my body.”

You return the look tenfold, eyebrows raising in disbelief. “Oh really?”

“Really really.”

“Then what’s in that bag you’re holding?”

You nearly miss the barely imperceptible shift in Gojo’s blindfold as his eyes widen, hiding said plastic bag full of confectioneries behind him, hidden from your prying gaze.

“Sweets stimulate my brain! You know that. It’s brain food.”

“Uh huh.”

“C’monnnn,” Satoru whines, bringing forth said bag, revealing all the various goodies he’d collected throughout the hour. “Are you cruel enough to deny a guy a sweet treat? Ijichi’s been bitching all morning about all these missions!”

Gojo doesn’t give you a chance to retort. “I finished my missions in record time! I think that’s means for a celebration. A prize, even.” He lifts his blindfold up then, revealing a mischievous glint in his eyes.

You bite. “What kind of prize?”

Satoru eyes you up and down with a saccharine smile. He pretends to be deep in thought, “a kiss, maybe?”

You follow suit, crossing your arms as you hum. “Hmm…I don’t know. Seems to me you’ve won a bunch of things today already.”

“Not enough.”

He grabs you by the arms, pulling you until you’re just a breath away. His hands slide down to your own, enveloping them in a warmth that makes you tremble with want. “Indulge me a little, will you?”

Satoru knows that you will. You always do. Even the most unreasonable of requests, like asking you to kiss him after you ran a marathon through Tokyo just to find out he was throwing a fit over confectioneries.

He lets you close the distance, savoring the way your scent invades his senses.

He pulls away rather abruptly, a delicate frown painting his features. “What’s wrong?” You ask.

“My mouth feels like it’s on fire again,” he pouts.

I think it’s interesting how as time goes on Zoro kind of becomes more and more like mihawk in some ways whether that’s just because if you spend time with someone for 2 years you’re bound to pick up their habits or a deliberate attempt to emulate him is a conversation for another time. And Mihawk and Zoro where already pretty similar at the start so it’s a little hard to notice now.

But yeah whether unconsciously or consciously Zoro is becoming a bit more like Mihawk and it’s interesting to think that while this means maturing in some ways (he’s swordsmanship for one but he’s also just quieter much more assured of himself) it also means deaging in some others.

Despite their significant age gap and general dispositions, when it comes down to it Zoro is just a lot more emotionally mature and developed than Mihawk is. And a big part of why is because he found something larger than himself to devote his life too, hell Mihawk himself even kind of acknowledges this when he agrees to take Zoro on as a student when Zoro begs for the sake of his captain and crew. He acknowledges that putting aside his own ego and dreams for the sake of someone else isn’t something he can do and sees it as a fault in himself and a strength in Zoro.

Mihawk may be outwardly mature and his skills defiently did not stagnant but I’d wager that Mentally Mihawk is still stuck at the same age he was when he took over the title of world’s strongest swordsman. Honestly maybe even younger. And it isn’t until training Zoro, letting Perona stay with him, for probably the first time in his life taking charge of lives outside his own did he finally unarrest his development.

If Zoro is purposely trying to emulate Hawkeyes, which it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was that’s who he’s trying to be Afterall, then it would honestly set him back emotionally because fundamentally as he is now Mihawk’s attitude doesn’t work in a crew. It’s too singular, too abrasive. And while that abrasiveness can be useful in Zoro’s role as Luffy’s first mate sometimes it makes him a little too callous a little too apathetic, like with his disregard for Luffy’s sadness over vegapunk.

But Zoro has his crew to temper that, they are honestly just too ridiculous to ever stay serious around. And try as he might to hide it Zoro is also just a silly dude who likes to be horrifically petty with his opponents. And zoro still has so much fire in him, so much he has too prove and so much he wants to protect to ever really fall into Mihawk’s apathy. Zoro has Luffy who even after they reach their dreams will probably still continue to turn the world upside down forever keeping Zoro in some kind of trouble and his life interesting.

Zoro can’t be Mihawk because even Mihawk can’t be Mihawk anymore. Being with crossguild and crossing with the Red hair pirates and the strawhats is going to change him, it has too. if Mihawk is going to live after losing his title he’s probably gonna have to become a little bit more like Zoro.

i feel like almost everything in utena has sort of already been extensively discussed in the last two (almost three) decades of utena's existence (not that there aren't new interpretations to be made, there always are) besides black rose arc (mikage+mamiya+tokiko). which is why they're so much fun to think about. i think the need to read between the lines makes it unfortunately easy to misunderstand or look past obvious stuff if you don't pay attention, but to me it's always been really obvious that mikage's arc is a literal representation of the erasure of queerness in ohtori (society?) by akio/everything he represents. and that's so fucking tragic! nemuro was never able to find a name for his desires. he lived and died as a puppet in the shadows.

I've finally got the time and energy to carry on with the rewrite and I am... stuck.

I've reached the part where I need to make the kiss obvious now, Zuri can't skirt around it anymore. Not in her own head, at least💀

The problem is, the body language that Zuri and Bobby exhibit is important to the dialogue they exchange and the kiss (especially since I'm writing around the "unwanted kiss" version in the books, I'll go into detail about that a bit in the tags) but a full on flashback isn't going to work with the way I've already written this.

So... do I just keep the dialogue and leave the details out and up to imagination? Or do I keep them by having the memory be in italics and split up between her current thoughts + anything else happening around her?

not to descendants post but it's crazy to me people are still looking at the core four like "you should have saved and liberated the entire isle within a month of being in auradon" girl what. how much power do people realistically think they had over auradon for them to do this without being evil about it (which y'all also hate)

i know i said i was happy about how mel's story went, but the more i think about it the less i'm sure about that. this is very much connected to how the themes of classism and wealth disappeared in s2, but mel in the beginning was the epitome of piltover. she wanted to advance piltover to prove herself to her mother. to "put piltover—" and by extension herself, "—on the map."

she wanted wealth just to have it. and i'm not blaming her for anything that happened, especially with hextech! she, just like jayce and viktor, could not have known what it would lead to. i mean yeah heimerdinger said so but who the hell listens to heimerdinger? but anyway i think mel changed throughout s1, much in thanks to jayce. by the end she's become more cognisant of the mistreatment of zaunites. she's the first to vote for their peace. she was a good person all along but now she knows how to act on it. it's also seen more in s2 act 1. when she covers her painting with gold, it's symbolic—she won't act according to what her mother might think. she won't let her desire for approval dictate her anymore.

so somehow i wish those themes were. continued, somehow? like again they were dropped not just with mel but the whole show and it makes her story a off to me. there's no meaningful commentary on war or classism or how her ideology stands opposite to her mother's. like some people have said, it feels like she doesn't have much agency, even if she is really cool. and that to me is a shame because agency felt like her thing. "to shape your own destiny" as she says to jayce in s1. i know her collaborating with the black rose (but not fully joining them) and learning magic is supposed to represent becoming independent from her mother, taking her own path, but some other aspects of her character were thrown away... the more i think about it the more i'm thinking they kind of #girlboss-ed her a little bit. maybe to sell another champion. i can't help but feel like even though i enjoyed seeing her on screen, the payoff didn't feel proportionally satisfying compared to her setup in s1.
