there's something about garrus and shepard admitting to each other that the worst thing about the end of the world would've been facing it apart. they've been to hell and back, they know there's nothing they can't do together. in the first conversation back on the normandy, garrus says "if this ends with us dying in a giant explosion taking out a reaper, remember that i took the killshot." even if they die, it's obviously going to be together. where else would either of them be?

he tells her he always knew he'd see the normandy again. his faith never wavers. if anyone can do this it's her. and he's got her back. no matter what. no shepard without vakarian, all the way back to earth, all the way through london. and then at the last possible moment, they get separated and have to face the end of the war alone. stranded lightyears apart, no way to know if the other survived.

but they both do and after a lot of recovery and probably some therapy they retire somewhere warm and tropical where they can enjoy their lives together in peace :)

Can you believe a 20 year old show got another chance to see the light of day and got another whole TWO seasons?!? Although the reboot wasn’t perfect, we got so many new great characters that quickly became our favorites, like Confucius, Topher, Frida, and Harriet. Not to mention the awesome new side characters! The reboot brought new fans, a resurgence of fanart, fanfiction, edits, and more. Although I’m sad the show ended on a scary cliffhanger, I’m sure we all know how the show would have handled it if it did continue haha

You guys know when you've had that one OTP for so long, done so much fan work for it, read fanfics constantly, and have just dedicated so much mental brainrot and energy to shipping those 2 characters together, that you literally can't imagine one without the other anymore? Like, in your head they've become so intrinsically linked together as a pair that they've just become a packaged deal and become a comfort ship to you? There is no doubt that Bones kind of fumbled actually getting Booth and Brennan together, but y'know, six seasons and over 100 episodes of them being together and in love, buying a house, having a baby, getting married, having another baby, and being all cute and domestic goes a long way in making up for it
