All the political discourse rn and I have seen NOBODY talking about The Third Wave???? Do you know what that is???? No???? Well Imma tell you! in 1967 high school teacher Ron Jones conducted an experiment during a lecture on the holocaust when they couldn't understand how the German people could allow the Nazi's to do such things to the jewish people. Jones started a movement called "The Third Wave" and told his students that the movement aimed to eliminate democracy. Jones postulated that democracy’s focus on individuality was against mankind’s “authoritarian” nature, which he aimed to emphasize with the movement’s motto: "Strength through discipline, strength through involvement." and only made simple changes on the first day like asking his students to sit properly, to raise their hands before speaking, and to address him as Mr. Jones. The experiment was meant to be only one day, but the students took to it. On day two a salute was made and the movement was called the third wave. It began to grow as his students not only took to his tactics, but other students wanted to join in. The line "Strength through community" was added in. And then on the third day as the movement grew again, the motto "Strength through action" was added. Students were given member cards, taught how to initiate new members, and were instructed to report anyone who did not abide by the rules. By the fourth day the experiment was blowing out of Jones' control so he told the students that it was a nationwide movement, and that he next day a presidential candidate of the Third Wave would announce its existence to the public. Students were asked to attend a rally at noon the next day, and three students who dissented were banished to the library while the rally was held- where jones had other friends pretend to be speakers before revealing the "president" of the movement: Adolf Hitler.
It emphasized being careful about who you follow. The experiment was made into a tv movie in 1981 called The Wave (which I highly recommend watching btw), and shows how easily people can fall into fascism. Please watch it or read the novel of the same name by Todd Strasser, or Check out the wikipedia page. Get yourself educated and use what you learn to protect your loved ones please.

“After the Last Lunchbox” for the mother whose hands are suddenly still
You packed the last lunchbox without knowing it was the last. The door closed, the car pulled away— and time moved too fast.
There is no parade for this kind of goodbye, no ceremony for letting them fly.
Just rooms that echo your silence, cups in the cupboard that don’t disappear, and a calendar that no longer revolves around someone else's year.
You gave them roots. You gave them wings. You made a life from the littlest things. Now the house is whole, but something's gone— and you’re still here, figuring out how to go on.
But hear this: You are not empty. You are expanding— into places you had set aside, into hours once filled with wiping tears, cutting crusts, soothing cries.
Now is not a loss. It’s a return. To dreams you pressed down, to a self you still yearn to know.
You are allowed to grieve. You are allowed to rest. You are allowed to feel a little lost in this nest.
But you are not finished. You are not done. You are a story still being spun. ______ A Superb Must Have Tool for Empty Nesters Moms

A Batman concept that is being absolutely slept on: Bruce dealing with empty nest syndrome.
Don’t get me wrong, Bruce was (Somewhat ashamedly) relieved when Damian went to his home country to further his cultural studies, but it presented a problem that he hadn’t had in over thirty years- an empty manor with only Alfred for company. It isn’t as though he isn’t used to solitude, but it’s like wearing a shirt that’s a size too small for him- uncomfortable and restrictive. There’s no one in the cave to train with or bounce ideas off of, no one to check in on since all of his children are thoroughly capable of taking care of themselves, and no one coming to greet him when he gets home from work.
For the first few days, the solitude is a breather. The chaos of the house is gone, things are calm and orderly, and he can get everything done that he needs to in a given day, no questions asked. But after the novelty has worn off, he begins to feel the emptiness of the manor. There is no Damian to spar with in the batcave, or the sound of Jason tuning up a motorcycle. There’s no clicking of keyboards from Tim typing furiously, or the chatter of Stephanie and Cassandra echoing through the halls. There’s no Dick to banish the clouds from his mind with an infectious laugh and blinding smile.
At first, he throws himself into his work as he usually does, wielding every bit of power he has as Bruce Wayne, CEO of Wayne Enterprises, and as Batman. He strikes more deals, takes more cases, meets more with the JLA. But no amount of work can distract him from that horrible hollow feeling he gets when he comes home from work to an empty home. As such, he holes up in the study most evenings with the excuse of doing his work, but is instead going through some of the family photo albums every night, reminiscing and having the occasional bourbon or scotch. And while he does attempt at times to keep up with his children, they’re often busy with their jobs, or patrol, or their own social lives, and it leaves him feeling bereft.
Alfred notices those subtle signs of depression in his master- the constant working, the lack of eating, and the creak of the floorboards of the manor as he walks the halls at night by himself. He gives it two weeks for Bruce to snap out of his funk on his own, and once he realizes that isn’t happening, he makes a phone call while Bruce is at work to Dick. As the first of his children and the one most able to open Bruce up emotionally, he knows that if anyone can get him to open up, it’s him. And after hearing of the situation, Dick agrees under the guise of coming for dinner that night.
The Bruce that greets him that night is not the one he knows. He seems genuinely delighted to see him, even pulling him into a hug when he comes into his office that evening. After getting over the initial shock, Dick soaks in the affection and begins to realize something that he’d never considered before- that perhaps he and his siblings had helped Bruce more than he had helped them, because they ensured he wasn’t lonely anymore. When Dick confronts him about his change in recent behavior, he’s surprised when Bruce readily admits to how much he misses his children.
“I didn’t choose solitude, it picked me.” He says. “And I was always fine with choosing it every time after that because it was what I knew. Until you and your brothers and sisters came along.”
Dick sits in the chair across from Bruce’s desk, and can see the loneliness and exhaustion in his face as he admits to not realizing just how much of a difference it all made until he no longer had it. As heartwarming as it is for Dick to hear that, he knows a solution is necessary. He asks to sleep in Bruce’s bed for the night for the first time in years in hopes that that might be enough to get him to sleep at least, and sure enough, it works. Bruce is out like a light for far longer than normal while Dick uses the time he’s sleeping to fill the rest of his siblings in on everything that’s happening and come up with a plan of attack together.
After that a routine is established. Everyone sends a text or gives a call on a different day of the week to check in with him. Once a week, depending on how everyone’s schedule’s work out, one or more of the kids comes to the manor for dinner or comes for patrol. And once per month, the family makes a point of having a family dinner and movie night as a way to catch up and reconnect with one another (Partners included). Bruce’s depression lifts, the bat family begins communicating more effectively, and everyone grows happier as a result.

To add onto this: There is also nothing wrong with wanting to have a child but not a baby or small children! I knew from when I was a kid that I wouldn’t do well with small kids because the volume level would always be too much for me. I told myself from the age of 12 that adult adoption was going to be the way for me. Met my kid when they were 23 and I’ve never thought twice about having kids in spite of my dad trying to push me about birthing children. It’s been seven happy years of knowing that I get to love somebody who also wanted me along for the ride as a parent and that they can take care of themself just fine. I have absolutely no regrets about it. Go with your gut! No one knows what will make you happy better than you even though sometimes it looks completely unconventional to others!
stop telling your teenage daughters who say they don't want kids that they'll change their mind

Dick is the biggest Daddy’s boy in the batfamily and that’s why he and Bruce have such a bond between them. I will fight about it.

I think Bruce Wayne as a parent/guardian still made a point of giving the kids in his care childhood experiences, as part of making sure his kids got the best experiences that he had with his parents. Dick’s first birthday at the manor he takes it off work and makes a point of spending time with him doing things normal nine year olds like, like going to a comic book store or eating at his favorite places or even taking him to the zoo, because he knows how much he misses quality time with his own parents. He fixes cars with Jason fixing his motorcycle side by side in silence and it feels good because he didn’t get to do that with his father. He spends time encouraging Tim in his inventing because he remembers how much having support helped him. He practices combat with Damian because that’s how Damian grew up communicating and he wants him to feel comfortable talking to him in his own way. He passes on his own ideals and training, but he still tries to preserve those pieces of them that can be spared all of the consequences of being a Robin.

Esme should have had more of a presence in Breaking Dawn.
Esme and Bella having more scenes together during BD was a missed opportunity IMHO. Esme was on her own while pregnant with her son and could have told her anecdotes about her pregnancy (furthering their relationship) to Bella. There could have been a moment with her giving Edward a firm lecture about how to be a supportive partner to her.
But it could have gone further than just them. There could have been her being genuinely upset with Carlisle for even agreeing to an abortion without ever speaking to Bella about it. And there could have been a moment when she got to hold Renesmee and felt like her son would have been happy for her to have this moment. There could have been a moment of Esme shamefully expressing Envy to Rosalie at one point of Bella getting to hold her baby and her remembering how her arms ached as a newborn vampire to hold her son, and Rose comforts her. There could have been a scene of Jacob mentioning to Esme that she reminded him of her mom, and she comforts him and tells him that his mother would be happy he was happy with his life.
We could have had Jasper sensing moments when Esme is struggling with grief over her son and him helping her through it. We could have had Emmett asking her for advice on how to be a good uncle to Nessie. We could have had Esme’s upset over Jasper and Alice leaving be shown as her taking it as the loss of two more children and Carlisle comforting her while she screams in grief. We could have had Esme hovering around Jasper and Alice after they return because she missed her babies.
More Esme in Breaking Dawn please.

I’m crazy for Daddy Bruce Wayne and baby Dick Grayson so have some headcanons Tumblr:
1. Dick recurringly tries to nurse from Bruce and once does so while Bruce is in costume with the JLA leading him to be called “Mama Bird” teasingly.
2. Dick loves touching everything!!!! Shiny silverware! A cowl! A designer suit! This also translates to an oral fixation. He loves sucking his thumb and pacifier just as much.
3. Dick is so active and is hard to get to sleep but when he does he sleeps like a rock. Bruce gives him a lot of activity to help with all aspects of his development and always winds him down by reading to him and singing to him.
4. Dick has separation anxiety from Bruce, especially around sleep. Bruce keeps a bassinet next to the bed and frequently checks on him. They routinely do skin to skin contact out of convenience and often having to comfort the little one while Bruce is being treated for injuries.
5. Dick loves his star and moon mobile on his bassinet and Bruce often wakes up to him trying to play with it.
6. Bruce is more adept at dealing with the infant’s sleep schedule than most people but he is incredibly emotionally attached and has to deal with the challenge that comes with that as he tries to protect the baby from everything.
7. Dick is incredibly curious and very responsive to Bruce.
8. Dick’s first word is “Dada”. Bruce cheered and beamed at him.
9. Alfred is unexpectedly pleased by the happier appearance of his master and enjoys his work more.
10. Dick’s first laugh happened with Bruce after he made a face over a bad bite of food.

Headcanon: Bruce spends one on one time with his adopted kids on their parents’ birthdays every year and they celebrate their birthdays together to remember them. It’s a tradition he started with Dick that got passed down from there. They make a cake, get some of the parents’ favorite things, and everyone sings happy birthday to them, and the child blows out the candles and shares their favorite memories of their parents to honor them and is the single tradition that no child in the family ever begrudges or dislikes. Especially because it means cake and ice cream made by Alfred.

Thinking about Angel Dust Age Regression headcanons so I’m gonna spew them all on this post. To those who like or want them: Enjoy!
Angel often sucks his second right thumb when he doesn’t have a pacifier so that he can easily hide it by moving his gloved hands.
Fat Nuggets can tell when Angel needs a break and will often nudge objects he associates with Angel’s regressions toward him, like a baby blanket or stuffed animal. Even a pacifier if it’s within reach.
In an older headspace Angel tends to be a brat, but anywhere under the age of three and he becomes sweeter and more sensitive.
Angel’s attachment to his pacifiers runs deep and traces back to his human life both when he was a baby and when he had issues with addiction. He gets very upset when they are taken away.
Interests (across various ages) include: tea parties, stuffed animals, coloring, building with blocks, watching kid’s shows, his pacifier, blanket, rattle, and (of course) playing with and cuddling Fat Nuggets.
Angel Dust trusts Alastor the most as a caregiver because he knows Alastor is Asexual and he doesn’t have to worry about being touched in ways that aren’t platonic which was the most important thing to him. Charlie’s enthusiasm often overwhelms him when he’s littler, and Husk and Vaggie aren’t exactly the warmest people. Niffty often plays with him well, but is often too focused on keeping things clean to do play with him, and Sir Pentious had to spend a lot of time explaining things to the Egg Boiz though he is nice but awkward with Angel himself. Alastor’s better emotional control and smile combined with knowing he isn’t interested in any sort of sexual relationship helps Angel regulate himself better. Alastor’s disdain for technology also helps Angel feel safer knowing that he’ll never have to worry about being watched by The Vees.
Because of this, Angel often refers to Alastor as “Papa” when he’s little and “Pops” when he’s older while calling everyone else by either their name or a variation on it. To name a few: Husk becomes “Husky”, Sir Pentious becomes “PenPen”, Vaggie drops the V in her name, and Fat Nuggets is lovingly dubbed “Nuggies”.
Triggers in headspace include the use of the word “Daddy”, cameras, unexpectedly being touched, and the sight or smell of cigarette smoke.
Angel has a difficult relationship with touch in his headspace. From ages 0-3 he is very affectionate and loves being held or cuddled as long as it remains platonic. Anywhere above age 4, and touch is something that he has to initiate or else it is unwelcome. Alastor and Husk are the only exceptions to this rule. Alastor for the role he has in his life, and Husk because he knows Husk hates having his boundaries pushed and would never do the same to him.
Alastor has given Angel a few special gifts that he cherishes both in and out of his headspace and would be distraught to lose. The first being a pink baby blanket that he gave him upon accepting his headspace and his own caregiving role. The second is a wooden music box that plays a tinkling rendition of a lullaby that he plays to go to sleep every night. The third is an old fashioned camera that Alastor uses to take pictures of special moments in his life or what they do together, all of which go into a scrapbook that he keeps in his room that he looks at whenever he’s having a hard time or feels nostalgic.
Angel isn’t a particularly picky eater but will not eat longer foods like celery, carrots, zucchini, asparagus, or eggplant unless they’re sliced or cut up.
Angel will wear and use diapers from 0-3 in headspace due to a mix of necessity and getting so involved in whatever he’s doing that he often forgets to ask to be taken to the bathroom. However, Alastor is the only one allowed to change him.
The only person Angel has told about his regressions outside of the hotel is Cherri Bomb (“RiRi”), who will often sneak him candy or ice cream when no one is around.
Apart from the TV, Alastor maintains a strict no screens policy when Angel regresses, leading the pair of them to spend most of their time together reading stories together. Angel’s taste in books skews toward fairy tales, and Alastor frequently reads him Grimm fairytales while Niffty often tends to listen in.
After Angel initially regresses, he is very prone to tears soon afterword, and processes any pent up emotions that way. The residents of the hotel are used to this and often keep a tissue (or handkerchief) handy to give him if he needs it, while someone else alerts Alastor if he isn’t there already.
Angel suffers from intense anxiety around strangers in his headspace and (particularly in a baby or toddler headspace) experiences separation anxiety from Alastor.
Temper tantrums happen more frequently in his older headspaces, but when they do occur in his younger ones they are far more intense and difficult to soothe.
Angel skews toward using bottles in his headspace as opposed to sippy cups or regular cups because he finds being fed by someone else to be both an expression of love by them and a moment of intimacy for himself that doesn’t have any sexual connotation.
Alastor tends to limit his use of his powers around Angel per his request (as he wants the experience to feel more realistic). However, there are two things Alastor uses his power for to enhance the experience. The first is conjuring Angel a nursery that he can make disappear in the blink of an eye. The second is to enhance his own strength to be able to pick Angel up or carry him in a way that everyone else cannot.
Niffty and Charlie are his favorite playmates, and Cherri Bomb is usually his favorite babysitter.
If it seems as though Angel is spiraling in his addictions, Alastor will sometimes purposefully help him regress in order to keep him clean. It has proven a helpful tactic in keeping him sober.
Angel will not sleep without his pacifier, baby blanket, Fat Nuggets, and his music box.
Alastor can change the music of the music box at will and will sometimes sing him to sleep without his radio filter.
Angel specifically picked innocuous pieces of clothing for his wardrobe that, when put together, look childish.
Nicknames given to Angel include: “Sunshine” (Vaggie (often used sarcastically)), “Dusty” (Charlie, Niffty), “Kid” (Husk, Vaggie), “Hatchling” (Sir Pentious), “Sonny Boy”, “My Dear Boy”, “sweetheart”, and “"mon petit chou" (Alastor, translates to "my little cabbage").
