I have a lil question for the fellow axolotl owners: Is my axolotls foot normal? The one on the right side of her, that is. I was wondering if she was regrowing a leg or if it was a birth defect or something. She can swim fine! I was just curious.

Okay so I just need to ask this of the void and anyone else who happens to be listening. How does one deal with a cat with behavioral issues? Like my cat Sophie is three years old, but I've only had her about 8 months. She was my aunts cat, until my aunt passed last year.

We introduced her to The Outside, and now take her out for short visits with us watching when we can. She loves it, yearns for it, screams for it all hours of the day. And I want her to have the benefits of sunshine and wind and enrichment and all, without the negatives of like adding to the cats kill everything issues or her getting hit by a car or something, so we keep an eye on her when we're all outside.

But she also likes to try to sneak down to the road. And by sneak I do mean Sneak. She knows she's not supposed to go down by the road, based on how she behaves when she realizes we've caught her going that way. So today we've implemented Road=No More Outside, and brought her directly back to the house when she went down there. (She fought the whole way and ripped a hole in my shirt) then to drive it home a little more, I went back outside to finish up my yard work.

When I came back in, she had peed on the kitchen floor. This feels a great deal like a tantrum.

So.... I dunno. Is there anything I can do? Is there a way I can communicate to her what's up? I've had cats my whole life, but never one like her. Describing how she's entirely different from every other cat I've met would be a whole other very long post. But the relevant point here is, I've never had a cat so bratty, never had one I felt needed some kind of discipline, and I'm lost and frustrated.

For the purposes of this poll, adopting includes obtaining a pet from a shelter, rescuing a stray, etc. Shopping includes buying a pet from a breeder or pet shop.

There are legitimate reasons for both, and this isn't intended to demonize one or the other; this poll is just aiming to assess which is more common here.
