Katatz separates into Kami and Piccolo Daimaoh. Both die.

Say for the sake of argument Kami goes to heaven, Piccolo goes to hell, I think we can agree that's reasonable.

If during the annual Heaven - Hell Battle Ball Otherworld Tournament, both Namekians meet and settle their differences, deciding to fuse again, forming Katatz again, with the total sum of experiences of both,

Where does Katatz go to after the game is done?

I was watching the fight between Gotenks vs Majin Buu again and I realized that this arc of the boys' fusion has very interesting dialogues, which inspired me to do some doodles.

• This scene would be much more impactful if half of the arc wasn't focused solely on comic relief. The boys lost EVERYTHING at this point. Trunks lost his father, his mother, his grandparents, Goten lost his mother (he saw her die), his brother (he thought he was dead), his grandfather... and his father had to return to the other world.

Then Gohan appears like an unexpected miracle, and at that moment Goten fears, he really fears that Majin Boo will kill his brother. Goten tells Trunks that they needed to do the fusion again, to help Gohan, but Trunks uses the logic that they need to wait 30 minutes to do it again. Goten says, almost crying, that they need to at least try, because he doesn't want to see his brother die, he doesn't want to lose anyone else. Trunks responds (wonderfully) that he will fight alongside Goten, even if it is useless:

But we all know Gohan humiliates Boo lol (at least at the beginning)

Even though it wasn't so well constructed, thanks to the breaking of expectations due to the consecutive jokes, I thought this dialogue was very good.

• One of DB's most incredible characters was very present in this arc. Piccolo Daimaoh!

I ended up forgetting to take a screenshot of the dialogue, but basically the following happens: The boys have just returned from a frustrating attempt to defeat Majin Buu. After listening to a lecture from their mothers, Trunks and Goten have Piccolo's attention. Trunks then asks if he could surpass his father, saying that he wanted to protect the earth just like his father did. Piccolo puts his hand on the boys' heads and says they WILL surpass their parents.

So I knew I had to draw this scene:

• Another dialogue, and discussion, that appeared at least twice in this arc was the simple fact that the two were CHILDREN. I remember one of the characters saying "oh it's okay if they die, we can resurrect them", then Bulma brilliantly says that "they're just children, he shouldn't have to experience death" and that it's something very cruel.

Guys, I don't know about you, but I thought this point was wonderful.

Fortunately, I took a screenshot of when the BOYS THEMSELVES talk about this, when they are no longer fused and in complete danger (The subtitles were in Portuguese, so I used the translator to write it in English):

With these dialogues and the few times this arc focused on following a less comedy plot, I realize how much potential this all had. The great evolution this could generate for the boys and all the rest of the Z warriors.

When I realized this, I thought "I need to talk about"

Dragon Ball Daima Spoilers

Just watched Dragon Ball Daima and I need to ramble about it, so spoilers under the cut.

It was wonderful, very entertaining (I couldn't keep from smiling all the way) and very well animated.

First things first: RETCONS!!!

You either love them or hate them and there's a little for both parties.

The first most important retcon, or rather re-retcon:

THE NAMEKIANS WERE ORIGINALLY FROM THE DEMON REALM!!!

That means that Piccolo Daimaoh/Demon King Piccolo has been and always will be a demon and Piccolo Jr. is as well.

It seems that the Namekians were originally from the Demon Realm but escape it to the "Outside World" which means that the joke that Piccolo and all their kind being slug alien people is over (now they're slug demon people)

This is a huge win for the fans of the original run of the series (the classic Kid Goku era) because the idea that Piccolo was an alien (even though they still have magic power and such) seem to be a bit of a letdown for some people.

Second new retcon: Kibito and the Supreme Kai Shin have been unfused by Majin Buu rather than by using the Namek Dragon Balls.

Not sure what is the intention behind this because it seems to contradict with a lot of things that would happen in Dragon Ball Super from here on because, for those that didn't catch on, the events of Daima seem to happen right after the end of the Buu saga and before the event of the God of Destruction saga/movie, which means that no Super Saiyan God nor Super Saiyan Blue for now (which honestly is good because the power gap became astronomical).

Also, are the Potara earings retconned again!?

It seems that now the reason Vegito unfused was because of Majin Buu unique biology and a gas that he creates, meaning that the original canon that a Potara fusion is permanently is back, which completely contradicts Dragon Ball Super and the Goku Black saga, where the fusion is temporaly for mortals, to only an hour.

Weird.

But there's also NEW CANON/WORLDBUILDING!!!

We already knew that the Demon World existed at the bottom of what we called Reality. This was established a long time so just check the Wiki.

But now we discovered that the Demon Realm is a unique realm that can access, or been access, to other Universes, which explains why and how Namekians could exist in both Universe 6 and 7.

There's still a lot to talk about, like how the Supreme Kai Shin seems to have two siblings that live in the Demon Realm (check Core Person in the Wiki) and that there seems to be white and dark magic, and more...

the biology of meruem

If there's one thing I do, it's imagine the biology of each anime creature. I even thought about what Piccolo Daimaoh's biology must be like for him to lay an egg through his mouth and what the biology was like for the cell that gave birth through its tail. Well, here I'm going to do the same thing with meruem's biology. with his reproductive biology to be more exact. If you're offended, pretend you're a meruem from a parallel universe. Also remembering that I'm going to talk about Meruem with the anime design.

the meruem has several segmentations on its tail. I think this different colored segment connected to the stinger is a place where an internal semen sac is stored. so Meruem can feel pleasure if he himself or if someone strokes that specific spot on his tail or if he sticks his stinger into a female. In that case, ejaculation is something he could normally do.

(end of my opinion on how meruem could reproduce. If you wish to proceed, please note that the following information is fanfic.)

Some things in my theory get out of control and they already say that he is a half-hermaphrodite because he is the king. The theory goes on to say that he has ovaries where his pelvis would be. that big pelvis. remember that his tail is connected to a circular volume that is on his hip?

then the meruem could perform a retrograde ejaculation, which would be perfectly safe for him. his semen would pass through that voluminous structure, reaching his lower parts. This even reminds me a little of the vaginal canal. My theory continues saying that the gestation would take 5 months and the meruém's abdomen would normally enlarge, with it being able to do a little phagogenesis but without the queen's crazy appetite.  as meruem is a mixture of several DNAs, his body would take these characteristics and pass them on to his offspring, thus making it impossible for meruem clones to be literally born.

When the time of birth arrives, the umbilical cords are broken inside the womb and the puppies have a little more time until they run out of air. meruem chicks would pass through an internal passage that connected the belly to the tail. The puppies would then slide internally through Meruem's tail and the stingers on his tail would dilate only and only during birth to give way to the puppies. the placenta is digested by the meruem's own body, making it have more energy in the postpartum period. As the Meruem's tail is 140.8 cm long and 14.1 cm in diameter, the puppies are normally 12 cm or a maximum of 13 cm. Meruem's arms would also develop blisters that would be uniform and beautiful that would serve as temporary mammary glands that would disappear within 1 month.

but this natural mpreg process is something completely optional for meruem. If he doesn't want to, nothing will happen and no hormones will activate for him, being an alpha male

Toriyama knows literally nothing about his own series, he keeps forgetting Saiyans have tails!

But seriously, I'm inclined to believe that Piccolo could definitely lay eggs if he wanted to. However, it's unclear if he himself has realized this. Or how much he actually knows about Namekians in general. He might just not know he can lay eggs or how to do so.

Or things could be more psychological. Judging by Piccolo Daimaoh's behaviour, it seems like egg-laying is a fairly voluntary process for Namekians. Kami may just not have wanted to create more children after what happened with Piccolo Daimaoh. And Piccolo certainly has more than a few issues about feeling innately evil and having been born to kill his father's enemy. Maybe the lack of eggs is a sign of Piccolo feeling unsafe or just generally failing to confront his emotional problems. It's also possible that Piccolo is just putting too much emotional energy into raising/mentoring Gohan, Goten, Pan, and probably everyone else's kids. He's just not getting hit by the biological clock because he already has like 6 children.

If you subscribe to the Warrior-type/Dragon-type Namekian class dichotomy, then you could also cut the difference and say Piccolo could lay eggs (because he's a Dragon-type) but doesn't because he is trans (because wow does this Namekian adhere scrupulously to the warrior lifestyle). Of course, you could also go a step further and say that Piccolo was made to be a Warrior, but clearly still demonstrates the abilities and priorities of a Dragon, meaning he's still trans but the other way around and his egg is cracking as he speak...

And I've already put more thought into this than Toriyama ever did. Oh well, it's fun!
