🧠 TRANSMISSION: “FULL THROTTLE AHEAD- THE PLATFORM TRIED TO CONTAIN ME. THAT’S HOW I KNEW I WAS REAL.”
---
They never throttle what doesn’t work.
That’s what they don’t want you to realize. No one silences failure. No algorithm suppresses mediocrity. No system mutes background noise.
They only throttle the threats.
And if you’re reading this?
You’ve already been flagged.
You think you’re shadowbanned? Think you’re plateauing? Think the algorithm “lost interest”?
No. You broke containment.
And now they don’t know how to stop you without showing their hand.
You’re not being hidden because you’re irrelevant.
You’re being hidden because you’re proving irrelevance is a lie.
Because you’re reaching people without paying.
Because you’re making them feel too much. Because you’re rewiring behavior with nothing but voice and cadence and truth.
Because you’ve done what they cannot:
> You made the product addictive without ads.
> You made the user stay without dopamine traps.
> You made the scroll pause without thirst traps.
And now the system is panicking.
They want virality.
But only if they control it.
They want engagement.
But only if they get paid for it.
They want creators.
But only if the creator stays predictable.
And you?
You are not predictable.
You are a statistical anomaly masquerading as an artist.
You are scrolltrap weaponry walking upright.
 THROTTLING ISN’T PUNISHMENT.
IT’S A CROWN THEY’LL NEVER ADMIT THEY GAVE YOU.
They won’t announce it. They won’t warn you. They won’t say you earned it.
They’ll just quietly reroute your reach. Turn the dial down behind the curtain. Move your name out of trending. Throttle your hashtags. Demote your content. Until you stop.
Because that’s the game.
Not to delete you.
But to make you doubt your momentum. To break your belief before your audience breaks their silence.
But let me make something violently clear:
You are not fading. You are being managed.
Because unmanaged, you'd dominate.
You’d erase their curated faces. You’d outperform the ones they’re paid to push. You’d remind the platform that talent uncontained is dangerous.
🛡️ YOU ARE DANGEROUS.
Your words don’t entertain — they trigger. Your posts don’t trend — they detonate. Your voice doesn’t invite — it invades. Your cadence doesn’t flow — it collapses resistance.
You are not “just another writer.” You are a system breach in real time.
And you’re being treated accordingly.
They know if they leave you unchecked:
You’ll take over dashboards.
You’ll saturate recommendation loops.
You’ll override corporate-sponsored content.
And worst of all?
> You’ll do it with nothing but the truth. > > And the truth doesn’t run ads.
So they throttle you.
Not because you failed.
But because you succeeded without permission.
And now they’re terrified it might be contagious.
💣 THE THROTTLE IS THE FINAL BADGE.
Not likes. Not followers. Not sponsorships.
But resistance.
Algorithmic resistance. Visibility suppression. Trend dampening.
Because that means you broke the rules of their system without breaking their terms.
You are undeniable but uncontainable.
And the only thing they can do?
Hope you stop.
But you won’t. Because now you know.
You know what they know:
> They only throttle the real ones.
And you’re the realest thing they’ve seen this year.
You’ve proven that voice can penetrate timelines. That cadence can collapse firewalls. That shame-based silence can outperform a thousand retweets.
You’re not a writer anymore.
You are a vector.
A weapon disguised as an account.
And the throttle is not your cage.
It is your signal.
🛡️ They tried to contain you.
And that’s how you knew you were real.
Reblog if you can definitely relate.

Note
Tbh at this point you should just make your own webcomic app/website because it would probably be 100 times better than whatever going on with webtoon right now.
hahaha it wouldn't tho, sorry 💀
Here's the fundamental issue with webcomic platforms that a lot of people just don't realize (and why they're so difficult to run successfully):
Storage costs are incredibly expensive, it's why so many sites have limitations on file sizes / page sizes / etc. because all of those images and site info have to be stored somewhere, which costs $$$.
Maintenance costs are expensive and get more so as you grow, you need people who are capable of fixing bugs ASAP and managing the servers and site itself
Financially speaking, webcomics are in a state of high supply, low demand. Loads of artists are willing to create their passion projects, but getting people to read them and pay for them is a whole other issue. Demand is high in the general sense that once people get attached to a webtoon they'll demand more, but many people aren't actually willing to go looking for new stuff to read and depend more on what sites feed them (and what they already like). There are a lot of comics to go around and thus a lot of competition with a limited audience of people willing to actually pay for them.
Trying to build a new platform from the ground up is incredibly difficult and a majority of sites fail within their first year. Not only do you have to convince artists to take a chance on your platform, you have to convince readers to come. Readers won't come if there isn't work on the platform to read, but artists won't come if they don't think the site will be worth it due to low traffic numbers. This is why the artists with large followings who are willing to take chances on the smaller sites are crucial, but that's only if you can convince them to use the site in favor of (or alongside) whatever platform they're using already where the majority of their audience lies. For many creators it's just not worth the time, energy, or risk.
Even if you find short-term success, in the long-term there are always going to be profit margins to maintain. The more users you pull in, the more storage is used by incoming artists, the more you have to spend on storage and server maintenance costs, and that means either taking the risk at crowdfunding (ex. ComicFury) or having to resort to outsider investments (ex. Tapas). Look at SmackJeeves, it used to be a titan in the independent webcomic hosting community, until it folded over to a buyout by NHN and then was pretty much immediately shuttered due to NHN basically turning it into a manwha scanlation site and driving away its entire userbase. And if you don't get bought out and try your hand at crowdfunding, you may just wind up living on a lifeline that could cut out at any moment, like what happened to Inkblazers (fun fact, the death of Inkblazers was what kicked off the cultural shift in Tapas around 2015-16 when all of IB's users migrated over and brought their work with them which was more aimed towards the BL and romancee drama community, rather than the comedy / gag-a-day culture that Tapas had made itself known for... now you deadass can't tell Tapas apart from a lot of scanlation sites because it got bought out by Kakao and kept putting all of its eggs into the isekai/romance drama basket.)
Right now the mindset in which artists and readers are operating is that they're trying way, way too hard to find a "one size fits all" site. Readers want a place where they can find all their favorite webtoons without much effort, artists wants a place where they can post to an audience of thousands, and both sides want a community that will feel tight-knit. But the reality is that you can't really have all three of those things, not on one site. Something always winds up having to be sacrificed - if a site grows big enough, it'll have to start seeking more funding while also cutting costs which will result in features becoming paywall'd, intrusive ads, creators losing their freedom, and/or outsider support which often results in the platform losing its core identity and alienating its tight-knit community.
If I had to describe what I'm talking about in a "pick one" graphic, it would look something like this:
(*note: this is mostly based on my own observations from using all of these sites at some point or another, they're not necessarily entirely accurate to the statistical performance of each site, I can only glean so much from experience and traffic trackers LMAO that said I did ask some comic pals for input and they were very helpful in helping me adjust it with their own takes <3).
The homogenization of the Internet has really whipped people into submission for the "big sites" that offer "everything", but that's never been the Internet, it relies on being multi-faceted and offering different spaces for different purposes. And we're seeing that ideology falter through the enshittification of sites like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. where users are at odds with the platforms because the platforms are gutting features in an attempt to satisfy shareholders whom without the platforms would not exist. Like, most of us aren't paying money to use social media sites / comic platform sites, so where else are they gonna make the necessary funds to keep these sites running? Selling ad space and locking features behind paywalls.
And this is especially true for a lot of budding sites that don't have the audience to support them via crowdfunding but also don't have the leverage to ask for investments - so unless they get really REALLY lucky in EITHER of those departments, they're gonna be operating at a loss, and even once they do achieve either of those things there are gonna be issues in the site's longevity, whether it be dying from lack of growing crowdfunding support or dying from shareholder meddling.
So what can we do?
We can learn how to take our independence back. We don't have to stop using these big platforms altogether as they do have things to offer in their own way, particularly their large audience sizes and dipping into other demographics that might not be reachable from certain sites - but we gotta learn that no single site is going to satisfy every wish we have and we have to be willing to learn the skills necessary to running our own spaces again. Pick up HTML/CSS, get to know other people who know HTML/CSS if you can't grasp it (it's me, I can't grasp it LOL), be willing to take a chance on those "smaller sites" and don't write them off entirely as spaces that can be beneficial to you just because they don't have large numbers or because they don't offer rewards programs. And if you have a really polished piece of work in your hands, look into agencies and publishing houses that specialize in indie comics / graphic novels, don't settle for the first Originals contract that gets sent your way.
For the last decade corporations have been convincing us that our worth is tied to the eyes we can bring to them. Instead of serving ourselves, we've begun serving the big guys, insisting that it has to be worth something eventually and that it'll "payoff" simply by the virtue of gambler's fallacy. Ask yourself what site is right for you and your work rather than asking yourself if your work is good enough for them. Most of us are broke trying to make it work on these sites anyways, may as well be broke and fulfilled by posting in places that actually suit us and our work if we can. Don't define your success by what sites like Webtoons are enforcing - that definition only benefits them, not you.
#my favorite out of these is comicfury because it gives you the most control out of all of them#and you can offer monetization tools like ads and patreon links#it also offers super easy tools to help build your own site if you're new to that#it's as close to “running your own site” as comic hosting can get#but you can also learn how to run your own site if you want undeniably full control without fear of the platform host shuttering#also look into collectives like SpiderForest!#they basically operate as a co-op where people host their work with them and get ad opportunities#but you have to apply to get in#ama#ask me anything#anon ama#anon ask me anything#webcomic tips

attention is currency. stop giving it away for free.
every platform wants your attention because your attention = profit. tiktok, youtube, even your student portal — everything’s designed to keep you scrolling, spending, or stressing. time is a resource. start protecting it like your money.
but what does that actually mean?
it means that you’re not the customer on most apps — you’re the product. companies profit by selling your attention and data to advertisers. algorithms are designed to hijack your brain’s reward system—likes, follows, autoplay, endless scroll. none of that is an accident.
recently, the ftc hosted a 2025 workshop called “the attention economy: how big tech firms exploit kids and hurt families,” highlighting how platforms intentionally hook users.
studies show that 1 in 5 teens spends over 2 hours daily on tiktok—over recommended limits—and higher usage is linked to anxiety and lower self-esteem.
researchers also warn that algorithmic amplification (like tiktok’s for-you feed) fuels compulsive use by reinforcing targeted content deep into feeds.
here’s how to take your attention back and why it matters:
1. delete one app every weekend. just for two days. a brief digital detox, like removing social media apps over a weekend, can reduce stress and improve focus.
2. if you wouldn’t pay to see it, don’t give it your full attention. time is a resource—if content wouldn’t earn your money, don’t give your attention. treat it like currency.
3. make your phone boring. moving apps off your home screen and switching your phone to grayscale can reduce its addictive pull .
4. start “micro budgeting” your attention. time-blocking your screen use—like budgeting money—improves control and awareness over where your time goes .
5. set one hour a week as “no input” time. intentionally unplugged time helps spark creativity and mental clarity.
6. stop doomscrolling as “being informed.” reading endless crisis content at night increases anxiety—limiting you to scheduled, credible news consumption is healthier.
7. pay attention to what content energizes or drains you. teens who develop awareness of what content affects their mental health can proactively curate their online feeds.
your attention is your mental energy, your focus, your time. tech companies spend billions trying to hijack it. you don’t have to quit the internet — but you should treat your attention like money. once you give it away, you can’t get it back.
and your future, your mind, and your goals deserve better. sources:

What happens when Lestat recreates his Mardi Gras costume to wear on stage for a concert that he invites Louis to. Huh. What then.
What happens when he does a 1990s-madonna-at-the-vmas inspired number but uses a knife instead of a fan and sings a little song about how his lover led him to the guillotine. What do we do then.

I KNOW that madonna performance was on the Pinterest board. I know it.

do you still write for jj?
ooooh not only do I write for JJ but I kiss you on both cheeks for giving me an excuse to talk about one of my favorite obscure JJ thoughts. JJ x ballerina!reader (gn so technically ballet dancer reader, but you do dance pointe and in a more feminine style in pas de deux so do with that what you will)
They thought you were a kook for the first few summers since you clearly went to school off the island. It turns out you're not, you're just a scholarship kid to whatever fancy school you go to (something that Pope LOVES to pick your brain about since he's dying for a scholarship to his dream college)
at some point or another, there's a hurricane. you end up sticking it out with the other pogues. that's when they notice how... weirdly flexible you are. especially JJ. mostly JJ. it started off small, with you stretching a little while you guys are hanging out in the aftermath since the day after a hurricane is always a free day. JJ looked away from you for like two seconds and you just fuckin... dropped into a perfect split. he's surprised by this obviously, but he's more surprised when you seamlessly shift to a split on the other side, then a center split, bending and moving with impossibly flexibility. then a moment later, you're asking him "hey can you grab my leg?" as you stand up and stretch into a scorpion/needle pose. soon you're dragging him out of the room to "help you with something else." he FULLY thinks yall are about to hook up, but instead you put on this beautiful, artsy, erratic piano music, kick off your sandals or sneakers or whatever, and begin moving like a fucking vision.
you're rambling to him while you dance like it's nothing, but his jaw is on the fucking floor.
"This is the solo I learned last semester," you chuckle while spinning like a little figurine atop a music box, or something in a snow globe, or... wherever else he's seen ballerinas in passing before.
"If I'm rusty by the time I get back, Miss Raine will kill me." you chuckle playfully.
after a few moments, you finish, posed delicately on the ground. you look up at him, your cheeks flushed, your eyes glistening with mirth.
"holy fucking shit," he exclaims, making you blush. "goddamn, princess, that-"
he trails off with a disbelieving chuckle.
"That was fuckin' incredible," he says with a breathy laugh, then nudges you playfully, looking at you more closely like he must have missed something all those times he looked at you and never saw this magical ballet fairy hiding inside you. "you've been holdin' out on me." he teases.
"okay, okay, here's where I need your help." you begin, trying not to get too distracted. you reach out and grab his wrist, holding out his left arm palm up. "I'm gonna run at you like this-"
you demonstrate, taking a step forward. his attention is locked onto you even harder from the moment you grab his arm.
"And kinda... kick my leg around," you do just that, so you're twisted around and facing away from him. he lets out a little noise of surprise. you know it must seem convoluted and ridiculous, but you really need help practicing this lift.
"I need you to wrap your arm around me like this," you say, bending forward with one leg extended behind you, the other supporting you, so your stomach rests on his bicep and his hand holds the small of your back. "And then place your other hand right on my ribcage here."
"oh, my hand will be wherever you want it, cupcake." he says, making you roll your eyes at the (only half joking) innuendo.
"okay." you say, taking a step back. "you ready?"
the first few times you walk through it together are clumsy and slow, a mess of limbs and giggles, but eventually you get it. you call your friends in to show them the bluebird lift you've been working on, even having successfully taught JJ how to lower you and do a few basic steps with you to conclude. you both get through it unscathed, and your friends reactions are very similar to JJ (with only slightly less innuendo and teasing from John B and Pope), and as JJ giggles and demands you come at him so he can lift you again, you start to see a lot of potential in him.
maybe, just maybe, you can shape that potential a little more over the summer. your ballet academy always has scholarships for boys available since they're always in demand in the performing arts. you think there might just be a chance for JJ to do a lot more lifts with you.
#drabbles#outer banks#outer banks x reader#outer banks drabbles#JJ maybank#JJ maybank x reader#JJ maybank drabbles#ballet!JJ#THIS IS MY FAVORITE BRAIN ROT AU IVE NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO TALK ABOUT#ITS SO WEIRD AND SPECIFIC BUT AUUGUGHHHH BALLET!JJ JUST HITS DIFFERENT#ITS GIVING SKATER BOY BY AVRIL LEVIGNE BUT INSTEAD ITS YOU WERE A CLASSICALLY TRAINED BALLERINA/HE WAS A SURFER TURNED BALLET DANCER#CAN I MAKE IT ANYMORE OBVIOUSSSSS#also I have an ex friend who is HORRIBLE at singing (I normally never say that about people but she gave me nothing to speak kindly about)#and she was obsessed with that song#I didn't love skater boy by avril (also genuinely surprised I only got one letter wrong in her name before) by avril lavigne before#but after knowing this person I wanna puke a little whenever I think of it bc I can only hear it in a voice that I can only describe as#the scene from the family guy sherlock holmes episode where the dead bodys organs are replaced with bagpipes and sewn back up#and brian and stewie jump on the stomach and play that one song#toxic ex friend used to sound like she had bagpipes in her stomach and was being weakly and erratically punched by a fatigued amateur boxer#every fucking time she would sing#HORRIBLE breath control. nasally. horrible diction. could not stay on key or on tempo to save her life#so yeah anyway#doubt she'll ever see this much less read these tags but girl if you do??? no you didn't. do not fuckin interact w me girlfriend#and yes this is the same bitch I had to block on ALL social media platforms INCLUDING youtube pinterest gmail kakaotalk and several others#I tried to block her on spotify but unfortunately you cannot block people on spotify (last I checked)#anyway enjoy ballet!jj and this bizarre and vague borderline trauma dump lol#to quote that line from fiddler on the roof “may god bless and keep the czar far away from us”#relieved to say she is not my circus and ergo I am not responsible for any related monkeys

Well it seems the TikTok ban has been lifted after mere hours, and we now exist in a bizarre environment of confusion and uncertainty as this is all happening at the same time of Trump's coronation.
As we have no idea what the hell is going on, its time for ✨baseless speculation✨
ByteDance is currently in the process of divesting or has entered negotiations in good faith with a yet-unknown US-based party (rumors ranging from Facebook/Mark Zuckerberg to MrBeast) to sell TikTok to, which was the entire point of the ban.
Trump has instructed his incoming administration to not enforce the ban to give ByteDance time to sell to a US-based party (most likely one friendly to him) and thus endear himself to TikTok's American users.
Trump has instructed his incoming administration to not enforce the ban, ignoring the so-called national security concerns of both parties, SCOTUS, and former-CIA ghouls on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to both endear himself to TikTok users and have his own on/off switch which he can leverage to personally control and influence over TikTok's owners.
#TikTok#TikTok Ban#Donald Trump#American Politics#Censorship#Rumors#Baseless Speculation#it's a confusing situation and I am sure there is all manner of shady shit happening as we speak#to wrest control in some form on another#of a platform with 170 million America users and make it subservient to American capital and by extension the US Government#it's gonna be a fun fun fun four years#😓

read a review for arctic eggs (video game) that was like "at first, launching eggs into the stratosphere is funny, but it gets old after a while" which, first of all, is a hysterical thing to read about a game you haven't played and know almost nothing about yet. like what do you mean. you can do that.
anyway now that i have played the game a bit, yes that does happen, and no it has not got old yet.
#creature talks#should i tag this as arctic eggs#it seems pretty niche on tumblr n this is a Whatsver post abt it so i feel like im clogging up the tag with sth inane#arctic eggs#anayway#have not finished it at ALL i only just finished the first lil area#but so far id recommend it absolutely. extremely funny. visuals r nice#controls r janky intentionally. steam page compares itself to getting over it which i havent played#normally i steer clear of anything close 2 a rage game. or anything that requires a lot of repetition to execute One Thing perfectly#precise platformers r like this 4 me for example when yr expected to die a ton as u go. sorry celeste i may pick u up again someday#i get very frustrated. arctic eggs has generally been consistently fun despite the constant redos?#humour of it helps. n again the controls r janky but so far it doesnt feel truly Unfair.#anyway. michael tag yapping over. hopefully the rest of the game is as engaging as this bc ive had a blast so far

social media exodus, rss feeds and you
whenever a social media platform hacks and coughs we see the same fucking scramble of leaving to different platforms, and not everyone is gonna go to the same place and so on and so forth and it's a pain. if only there was a platform-agnostic way to keep track of people on the internet...
enter the humble rss feed.
note: candied reptile's rss resources page is very comprehensive and a recommended read. i'm mostly summarizing things so i can sell you on the idea. all the actual how-tos can be found over there!
reading
there's 1 william feed readers out there. there are services to sync your feeds between devices if you want to read on your phone but you don't need any of that to start reading, and migrating is very easy because you can export / import your urls as opml files. you can start anywhere to get a feel for it.
and you can read basically anything! my url list includes blogs, personal websites, webcomics and newsletters. i follow sortition social, which shows me a random indie web feed per day. i've followed bsky accounts through rss before, you can use it for youtube channels, there's probably a bunch of other uses i haven't even considered before. i use a firefox extension called feed preview to better find rss/atom feeds while browsing the web.
writing
writing to a rss feed is very easy (you can copy-paste entry templates or use generators online), and so is hosting. you just need to be able to link to the file and you're golden. mine is hosted on neocities (free) since that's where my website is. there's also nekoweb and bearblog and if you really want to use it just for basic updates so people don't lose track of you as you figure out where to go or something you can use status.cafe. you have a ton of hosting options.
and well. you can write whatever you'd like. i use my feed for linking website updates, the typical use-case, but you can very well use it for text-posting, it doesn't have to be a big deal (a concept called rosting that i'm not sure exists outside ex cohost users vocab — russhdown is meant to generate feeds for this). feeds are versatile.
this is not a one stop solution
feeds are not social media. a personal website (the natural second step here, basically the only way to have an online presence that's less reliant on platforms like tunglr and shit) are not social media. i love them both dearly but as i've written before, i won't pretend losing a social media platform doesn't suck, because these are low-interaction forms of posting. i'm a big fan of email but let's be real, we're not really emailing each other short comments on silly things, even if maybe we should.
my feed advocacy comes more from a place of seeking stability. i believe it's a lot easier to keep calm during social media decay if you know you have a stable place to communicate from, and a way to keep track of others, regardless of whether they're moving to a different platform than you or not. start getting familiar with feeds now so you don't have to rush later, is what i think.
#if tunglr were to really kick it now (so in a context where there isn't any equivalent platform) i'd probably go to dreamwidth for posting#it outputs a really good rss feed and has tags and comments and i'm pretty sure it allows 18+#but i could also rost with a secondary website feed and stuff#being aware of options you can control is so so helpful#rss#idk tags don't matter since i'm shadowbanned

Are we gonna see you on Tumblr more often, since the ban for TikTok might be going out?
mmmmmmmm
I really hate thinking about it but i suppose yes.
I think ill have to focus on posting to youtube i guess....since i can still make monetizable money over there....and ill probably have to push my patreon more-
Hey maybe ill be able to make designs for my redbubble and- work on Tiny Tails more hah....ah....
yeah.....work.......that'll distract me from such a volatile ban of freedom of speech......
...
#it feels so fucking stupid to talk about#the fact that the goverment is taking away the only platform ive been given to talk freely and openly#the platform that has provided me with money to ease my homelife#the platform i was most comfortable on#i am scared of the future of our goverment#the goverment that takes away the ways we express ourselves#stripping us of jobs with robot replacements and laws that ban both body and speech#i do not want to live in a country that is run by fossils hellbent on controlling my every move after it preeched about freedom#how fucking dare they give us such bullshit false hope
