TFATWS Anniversary Event 2025

The @sambuckylibrary will be holding a TFATWS Anniversary event! The event will run from March 17th to April 27th. During that time, we will be reblogging and sharing the work you guys create here on our blog.

You can post fanfiction, art, fic rec lists, comments, moodboards, podfics, edits, etc. It’ll be a low-stakes event. No need to sign up. Just remember to tag @sambuckylibrary in your post for each fill, and we will be tracking #tfatwsanniversary2025 for reblogs.

What is this?

It’s a SamBucky multi-week event in celebration of the anniversary for TFATWS TV show.

Is there any pressure?

No pressure at all. Fill one prompt. Fill all the prompts at once. Do however many you please.

Can I fill more than one prompt with one piece of art/one fic?

Yes! You can fill one prompt with one piece of art or fic. You can try to fill all of the prompts during the event at once with one piece of art or fic. You can do any number in between.

Are there any prizes for making anything for this event?

Just the satisfaction that you made something cool.

Is it just SamBucky?

Yes please, just SamBucky. There can be side ships, but the main ship should be SamBucky.

How long will this event run?

It will run from March 17th and run until April 27th.

I heard there are badges I can use for each fill?

Not this year, unfortunately. But there will be cool banners for each day!

RULES AND GUIDELINES

What are the guidelines for the event?

I will be borrowing some of this from the MYSU Valentine’s Day Bingo 2022 Guidelines, since they were fantastic.

For Everyone:

1. Remember to @sambuckylibrary in the post as well as #tfatwsanniversary2025.

2. Please also tag the prompt you’re filling (for instance, if the square is “Redwing”, use “#redwing” as one of your tags when posting about it on Tumblr).

3. If you’re uploading to AO3, please:

a ) Say somewhere which prompt you’re filling.

b ) Add it to TFATWS Anniversary Event 2025 (TFATWS_Anniversary_Event_2025).

For Artists:

1. Create at least one piece of new art that can’t have been posted anywhere else before this.

2. All visual art forms are welcome:

a ) Gifsets, at least 2 gifs.

b ) Aesthetic boards or moodboards, at least 4 images each.

c ) Drawing/painting, that is not a sketch.

d) Fan video.

e) Graphics edit.

For Authors:

1. At least 500 words.

3. Can be part of a series, but should work as a standalone.

1. Any amount of comment counts, from a heart emoji (“❤️”) to an essay.

2. We would rather this be about what makes you happy and joyful about reading than any scathing critiques.

Things to be mindful of when creating:

For Sam

Avoid framing Sam only as a caretaker or emotional support for Bucky. Be mindful of Sam acting angry or aggressive in an out-of-character way and falling into the angry/sassy Black man trope (check out the MCU source material to help with character traits).

Avoid decentering Sam as a main character and refrain from focusing entirely on Bucky.

In art: avoid whitewashing Sam’s skin and research drawing Black characters.

General disclaimer: Race affects every aspect of his life, including interacting with police/government and the white structures of the world when it comes to performing his duties as Cap and simply being a Black man that lives in the U.S.

For Bucky

Avoid phrasing “flesh/normal/human hand” to refer to the contrast between his prosthetic arm and his right arm. The phrasing is ableist. You can simply refer to his prosthesis when relevant, otherwise use “right/left arm/hand”.

Q: What's all this, then? A: This is a low key summer reading challenge specifically for fandom. All you have to do to participate is get a bingo card, read a fic, leave a comment, and mark that square off on your card!

Q: How do I sign up? A: Fill out this form!

Q: What are the dates of the challenge? A: This year the summer reading challenge starts on the summer solstice, June 20, 2024. You have until the fall equinox, September 22, 2024 to complete your bingo card.

Q: Who can participate? A: Anyone who reads fanfiction!

Q: Can I get a text-based bingo card instead of an image? A: Absolutely, please let us know you’d prefer that format when you sign up.

Q: Do I have to leave a comment to complete the square? A: Yes. I mean, we're not going to check up on you or anything, so it's the honor system. But let's give creators some love, shall we?

CURRENT UPDATING STATUS: HIATUS (we're hoping to return in the fall!)

Q: When does Lore Rekindled update? 

When it's actively ongoing, typically I try to update it every 2 weeks, every other Saturday, around 8:45 PM EST. That said, if episodes are delayed or don't release when expected, I'll make sure to notify you all! In the meantime, all I ask for is your patience <3

Q: Where can I read?

Right here on my Tumblr! We now also mirror on NamiComi if you want an alternative platform to read it on that offers better reading options and much less image compression!

While we used to mirror on Dillyhub, we've since discontinued uploads there as the site became too unstable to use.

Q: Help, Lore Rekindled shows up blurry for me!

Unfortunately this is a limitation on Tumblr’s end. I combat it as best I can by cropping panels individually for uploading, but some panels are just too long to segment into parts or some episodes have too many panels which exceed Tumblr’s image limit which forces me to group some together. Reading on our mirror sites is the best alternative whenever we can't get the images to upload crystal-clear !

Q: Why are the episode numbers further behind on the mirror websites?

A: Back when Rekindled first started, the episodes were scripted out long but released in short segments until I got enough of a pace going that I could release longer episodes. Or sometimes I'd have an episode turn out longer than anticipated and I'd have to cut them up to ensure I could post them on time. When I updated them to our first mirror site (Dillyhub), I compiled them together again into full episodes the way they were originally intended to be read, and its these compiled episodes that I've continued to use for other mirror sites going forward. This makes it seem like the Dillyhub/NamiComi/etc. versions are "behind", but rest assured, it's perfectly up to date with the Tumblr version! (and are, in practice, the 'true' episode numbers!)

Q: Why create a ‘fix-it fic’ of Lore Olympus instead of creating your own original story? Isn’t that kinda weird / stupid / petty / [insert derogatory assumption here] ?

Short answer - for the same reason that people write fanfiction instead of writing original manuscripts.

Long answer - We write what we’re compelled to write, and for me, I wasn’t compelled to make a completely original Greek myth comic (though I did explore that option.) I wanted to create something with Lore Olympus in mind as I used to be a huge fan of the series and, like many others who used to be diehard fans of the series, was extremely disappointed and frustrated with how it turned out.

I’m often told in my criticisms “if you’re so smart, do it yourself!”... so I did! Sure, I could have done my own completely original take of the myths, but it just didn’t scratch the itch like doing it through the lens of LO did.

Obviously it’s not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea and people will make their own judgments of my reasoning behind making it, which is natural and fine :) I just wanna make fanfic for a comic that I used to love and have strong feelings about that I’m compelled to express through transformative fiction, it’s not much more complicated than that!

Though I will say, in spite of everything I have to throw at LO, I do owe it a lot, as in my attempts to recreate it, it's broken me out of my comfort zones and helped me advance my art further than I was previously ever capable of taking it. I could never hate LO at it's core, even if I hate what it eventually became and what it turned out to always be once the rose-colored glasses fell off. I can't hate the community it created in spite of itself, the community that welcomed me with open arms and has since uplifted me to the heights I'm at today. I can't hate how LO used to make me feel and how it inspired me even after those feelings started to wane.

And for that, I am forever grateful.

Q: Do you accept fanart / fanfic for LR?

Absolutely!! I adore every piece of LR-inspired art and prose that people send me or tag me in, it really does brighten my day. Skill level doesn't matter to me, if you wanna share it, I wanna see it! <3 (and if you don't want to share it with me directly, feel free to use the #lorerekindled tags ! )

Q: Will you write about [insert myth here]? / Please include [insert favorite god/myth here]!!!

I get these kinds of questions and requests a looot and unfortunately there's just no way to entertain all of them because to do so would be to write whole other expansive arcs (especially when it comes to myths like the Trojan War) which takes time and resources that I simply don't have.

For the most part, LR is aiming to do what LO failed at, and one of those failures was stuffing too many pointless side characters and story arcs into its plot for the sake of paying lip service to the myths and the fandom. LR is instead aiming to hone in on the myth of Persephone, Hades, and Demeter, so a lot had to be cut to allow that story to flourish without being weighed down.

That said, even if I'm planning on including a specific myth or god... I'm not gonna tell you outright anyways. I don't wanna give away all the fun stuff I have planned! ;3 Rest assured, if there's a myth you REALLY want to see tackled within the world of LR, feel free to write / draw whatever you want! Just because I might not cover a particular myth doesn't mean you can't! :'3 <3 (though I get why people ask me specifically to write these stories but unfortunately I am just one person and it would be a Sisyphean task to try and retell every single one of them within and even outside the scope of LR).

Q: Will Lore Rekindled have the Apollo SA plot? 

No, I’m removing that plot arc entirely and re-focusing it back on what we've preserved of the Canvas version of LO, in which Apollo seemed to be more akin to a (not-so-great) suitor, not an outright assaulter.

Q: Is Persephone eternally 19 in Lore Rekindled?

She is not. All of the gods are relatively old, with many of them exceeding the human lifespan by a good few hundred years at minimum. Hades is very old, Persephone is very old, they’re aaalll very old compared to mortals due to being gods who are not tethered to the limitations of a human lifespan. That said, they all experience different milestones of life at different stages (as mortals do!) so Persephone is currently experiencing milestones that are often relegated to people in their early to mid 20’s (such as attending university) but much of her experiences as a fish out of water are simply due to being from the Mortal Realm, not a consequence of her being a barely-legal teenager.

Q: How are the gods related in LR? Did you keep or remove the incest?

The gods are 'related' in LR, but rather than through blood and DNA, they're instead created through the fusion of their respective elements. How the gods refer to one another is often a matter of language that isn't necessarily meant to be taken literally - while some deities who reside in / work in the Mortal Realm might be accustomed to terms like 'mother' and 'sister' (ex. Kore and Demeter), others simply refer to each other as 'creator' and 'creation'. If you want a detailed look at how that concept has been implemented into LR, check out the LR family tree!

Q: Are Hades and Persephone meant to be a romantic pairing like they were in LO?

The answer to that is kind of complicated and not one I can fully give without spoiling. Neither Hades or Persephone are perfect people, they both have a lot of baggage to unpack and much of it is going to be torn out and thrown about the room in the heat of conflict. All that's to say, it will certainly be a dramatic relationship, but that doesn't mean it won't be without its romance, and vice versa.

Ultimately though, my main goal is to retell The Hymn to Demeter more accurately than it was told in Lore Olympus. It obviously still takes a lot of creative liberties for the sake of retelling a centuries-old story (and has to balance those creative liberties with the liberties LO took in its art and story) but I hope that in the end, people will find closure in its attempts to express the original myth's messaging more so than they could find by the end of LO.

Q: How long is LORE | REKINDLED planned to be?

Right now it’s hard to say as plotting out a comic is a whole different thing from actually drawing it. Some episodes I write out and think it’ll only take me one episode to do but then it turns out to take 2-3 in comic form; some episodes flat out don't release on time if I'm dealing with IRL stuff. That said, right now I’m estimating the series will last around 150-200ish episodes, give or take. Could be less, could be more, I'm not great at guessing that sort of thing LOL

Q: How can I support LORE | REKINDLED? 

Considering Rekindled is an AU rewrite project of Lore Olympus, I can't profit directly off it in any way as I don't want to cross over into potentially harmful legal territory with Rachel Smythe and/or Webtoons. This means no locked episodes, no merchandise, etc. Rekindled is and always will be free to read.

That said, I do offer both a Patreon and Ko-Fi where you can tip me and get access to bonus drawings, time lapses, and other goodies, some of which are related to LORE | REKINDLED, others which are more for my original projects. All of the proceeds help support me in these dubious times so I can keep doing what I do and so I can cover my assistant costs.

I'm also now on VGen where you can commission me! I have this commission info setup on my Ko-Fi as well, but VGen is designed specifically for commissioning and comes with a lot of other cool features like character archiving and tagging, workflow tools, etc. so it's generally the better option ;3 (I just like offering more than one lmao)

ART QUESTIONS

Q: What do you use to draw? 

I currently primarily use a Huion Inspiroy Giano with Clip Studio Paint EX. I also have a 4th Generation iPad Air but I mostly use that for conventions and on-the-go tattoo designing.

Q: What brushes do you use?

Thanks to help from the community (and some very mysterious anons), I’ve compiled a fully comprehensive brush pack consisting of brushes that have been researched, tested and confirmed to be brushes used in Lore Olympus as far back as the first season! Please use them to your liking for all your edits and redraws :)

Q: Do you have any resources or tips for creating comics?

Creating your own comic is a very fun, but very overwhelming learning process, with many things to cover that I can’t feasibly do in a single post. The best place to start is to just start! But if you’re struggling with knowing where to even begin or where to go from where you are, here are some helpful Youtube videos that I compiled into a playlist, covering stuff from Clip Studio basics to masking comic panels to storyboarding in animation. I’ll be adding new videos to this playlist as I find them!

I also regularly stream Rekindled progress on Twitch where you can watch me working on the comic live! I'm always happy to answer questions about the process during these streams, so don't be afraid to just hop in and ask!

Q: Do you have any advice for aspiring tattoo artists?

I'm not gonna tell you whether or not you should, just that if you do decide to pursue it, remember that it's still a job in the arts - it takes a lot of work, patience, and trial and error, and even when the times are good, those good times aren't guaranteed nor infinite. Don't go into it thinking it's a "get-rich-quick" kind of job. Tattooing has basically become the OnlyFans of the arts, a lot of people jump into it thinking it's as easy as posting your feet pics online but those who have been doing it legitimately for years know how much work it takes to succeed, how mentally and physically taxing it really is, and all the risks involved, which a lot of people rushing into it don't really tend to think about.

As much as it's 'easier' than ever now to simply Google things and buy all the tools online, the easy path doesn't always make it the best one and it demeans the craft to assume that it's easy, period (the pros just make it LOOK easy). Apprenticeships are still the most legitimate way to pursue the craft, as it ensures you get proper hands-on education without all the misinformation and bad habits that can be found online.

It's a trade that demands patience and perseverance. Don't rush into the first apprenticeship you're offered. Don't settle for the easy way out of learning. Know your community, know your artists, and know what you're willing to sacrifice and put up with. Be willing to get tattooed, get to know the artists around you, even if they can't offer you an apprenticeship you can still learn a lot just by getting yourself involved with your local body mod scene.

This industry has only become harder to navigate in an age of normalized instant gratification and oversaturated shops, so if you really wanna do it and make it your living, be prepared for the work and discipline that's necessary to succeed. Put your ego aside and be willing to learn and to treat the craft - and the clients who trust the trained professionals with their skin and health - with respect.

Q: How did you come up with your username?

(no that's literally it fr LOL it's only cosmic luck that it wound up becoming so appropriate for what I do here LMAO)

Good Omens graphic novel update: August 2024

This time last year, the Kickstarter was in full swing, what a journey it’s been since then! Colleen is still working hard to complete the graphic novel and we have some incredible pages to share with you.

There have been many merchandise updates in the past few months and whilst a number of backers told us they loved these, others wanted to hear more directly about the graphic novel itself. So, for this month we will focus 100% on Colleen’s work, and how the various editions of the book are coming along. Everything is shaping up rather nicely, if we do say so ourselves!

You may have seen some of the sneak peeks Colleen has posted recently, such as this wonderful scene between our heroes:

And our favourite angel and demon on the road.

Collen has recently shared a rare view from her drawing board with us. "Working on pages 75 pages apart at the same time" she explains. The joy for us is that these pages arrive similarly out of order, so the graphic novel is unfurling like a magnificent jigsaw.

The reversible alternative covers by Rachael Stott and Frank Quitely are coming together beautifully. Different vibes, both ‘heavenly’ and we’re delighted to share them with you:

With the pencils mapping out the story almost completely in place, here are some samples from across the book – don’t worry we’re not giving too much away. It is always interesting to see these images come in, then watch them evolve over time

As we enter the latter stages of inking and colouring, we're also getting glorious new artwork by the bucketload. Colleen has been working diligently and it’s simply wonderful to see the story coming to life so vibrantly.

We shared an update on April 16th 2024 introducing the new timeline and full context on why dates had to be moved. You can read that here. Events

We announced in our June update that Crowley's S2 Bentley would be appearing at ACME Comic Con in Glasgow. Unfortunately, our team will no longer be attending, so the Bentley will not appear at this event. We wanted to let you know as soon as possible in case you have booked tickets expressly to see it, or to meet the Good Omens HQ team. Maggie Service is also no longer attending the event, however Quelin Sepulveda, our beloved Muriel, is still appearing on the Saturday, and there are many filming locations around the central belt of Scotland if you are visiting, so you can still make your trip a little more ineffable. We apologise for any disruption to your plans.

You may draw, write, make playlists, edit, make gifsets, animate or create anything you please! You may do one day's prompt or all of them if you'd like. Participation is for fun, not forced. Don't push yourself just to get something out.

Tamlin Week 2025: Rules, Prompts, and FAQ

First of all, we'd like to thank you all for the support and prompt suggestions! We'd also like to thank @geniemillies for our brand new icon and banner; it's so lovely, so make sure to send them all your love!

The prompts have been chosen for Tamlin Week 2025, which will run Sunday, April 13 - Saturday, April 19. Every day will have two prompts for you to choose from.

This post is intended to serve as a masterpost for the entire event. It will include dates, prompts, rules, and a FAQ. Make sure to click the read more to get ALL the information!

All works must focus on Tamlin! Any and all ships are allowed, as long as the ship with Tamlin is at the forefront. You are also welcome to create general, non-ship content for him.

Any and all gender/sexuality headcanons are allowed! And no ship-bashing, please.

There are 2 prompts for each day. You can choose one or both of them to inspire your work. The last day includes a Free Day, so go crazy! If none of the prompts speak to you, feel free to create your own Tamlin content on any day. The prompts are meant to promote creativity, not restrict it. If you have questions about any of the prompts, you can message us.

NSFW/Mature content is allowed, as long as you tag everything appropriately and follow the rules of each platform. So on tumblr, that means following their guidelines for NSFW images. On AO3, that means giving your fic the appropriate rating and tags.

Any kind of creative content is encouraged! Fanfiction, fanart, edits, playlists, headcanons, moodboards, ANYTHING!

That being said, AI art is not permitted, and will not be reblogged.

Works must be created specifically for this event; previously published works will not be reblogged. New chapter updates of previously existing fics are allowed, as long as they are posted for the first time during this Tamlin Week event.

How do I participate in Tamlin Week?

Create your content and post it on tumblr. If you post on AO3, make sure to share the link on tumblr. Also make sure to add it to the Tamlin Week AO3 collection, which will be posted about later. Tag this blog in the main body of your post (@tamlinweek). In the tags, tag "tamlinweek2025"

If we don’t reblog your post within 24 hours, feel free to send us a message with the link! I’m sure we all know how unreliable the tumblr tagging system is, we would never intentionally not reblog someone’s post.

If I’m not a creator, how can I support Tamlin Week?

The best way to support content creators leading up to and during Tamlin Week is to let them know you support them! Reblog and comment on their work, send Tamlin content into this blog for us to post, etc. We’ll be reblogging Tamlin content from now up until the week itself. FAQs : 

When is the event ? From June 2nd to June 8th! While you should post the prompt for each day it is associated with, we will also be accepting late submissions, so have no worry!

Can I combine prompts? YES!! Be sure to indicate which days and prompts you are using in your description, otherwise, go free! You can post on either days associated with your prompts, or, if it’s a multipart work, on each corresponding day!

Is there any content restriction ? We accept all  works of all mediums - writing, art, collages, playlists, podfics, translations, video edits, etc. - , whether they are SFW, NSFW and/or triggering. Writers and artists- tag appropriately ; Readers and viewers - be mindful of tags!

Where should I post my work ? Anywhere from Tumblr or AO3!! We have accounts on both platforms and we also have an AO3 collection : Dreamling Week 2024 [link]!

What tag should I use for visibility ? We recommend using both #Dreamling Week and #Dreamling Week 2024 as well as tag our account (mr-sadman) ! We will try our best to reblog every entry but if you see that we haven’t reblogged/retweeted your post yet, don’t be afraid to DM us! Make sure your blog settings are set so that your posts appear in searches - otherwise we might not see them!

Are polyamorous ships accepted ? Yes!! As long as the focus of your entry is Dreamling, poly-ships are absolutely accepted!

Do I need to be a part of the server to participate? Absolutely not! Dreamling Week is open to all! Although some additional events (such as a watch party, game nights and fic read-alongs) will be held on the server, submissions do not need to come from server members only!!

If you can fill every single prompt from every single bingo card in one fill, that’d be wild but it’s okay by the rules. You can do any number in between.

Are there any prizes for making anything for this event?

What are the guidelines for the bingo?

I will be borrowing some of this from the MYSU Valentine’s Day Bingo 2022 Guidelines, since they were fantastic.

For Everyone:

1. Remember to tag @sambuckyhalloweenbingo in the post as well as #sbhalloween2024.

2. Please also tag the prompt you’re filling (for instance, if the square is “Costume”, use “#costume” as one of your tags when posting about it on Tumblr).

3. If you’re uploading to AO3, please:

a ) Say somewhere which prompt you’re filling.

Avoid framing Sam only as a caretaker or emotional support for Bucky. Be mindful of Sam acting angry or aggressive in an out-of-character way and falling into the angry/sassy Black man trope (check out the MCU source material to help with character traits).

Avoid decentering Sam as a main character and refrain from focusing entirely on Bucky.

In art: avoid whitewashing Sam’s skin and research drawing Black characters.

General disclaimer: Race affects every aspect of his life, including interacting with police/government and the white structures of the world when it comes to performing his duties as Cap and simply being a Black man that lives in the U.S.

For Bucky

Avoid phrasing “flesh/normal/human hand” to refer to the contrast between his prosthetic arm and his right arm. The phrasing is ableist. You can simply refer to his prosthesis when relevant, otherwise use “right/left arm/hand”.

Hello and welcome to Tropetember 2024!!

Tropetember is a multifandom event celebrating everyone’s favourite fanfic tropes, held during the month of September. There will be a trope prompt for each day of the month, but this is only a guide - feel free to choose any of the tropes as you wish.

This year, we again have a “Hard Mode” list for anyone that needs or wants more specific prompts to fill!

From the beginning of September, we will be accepting submissions to this blog for fanworks tagged with ‘tropetember’ and ‘R-tropetember’ (for works with adult content). Make sure to TAG APPROPRIATELY on the submissions box.

If you create your own post and want us to reblog it instead, you must @ us in the main body of the post (@tropetember) - we are not able to monitor the #tropetember tag.

SJM Villain Week Rules/FAQ

Welcome to SJM Villain Week taking place on the 1st - 7th of October to kick off the scariest month of the year.

In order to inspire creativity within the fandom, we are running a prompt submission form to collect your ideas for what the prompts should be for the event! Each day will have two prompts, as well as a free day on the seventh.

To help this event run smoothly, here are the rules to follow

This event is about the big bad guys of the SJM universe, but that does not mean that hate will be accepted. Remember to be kind and respectful to everyone joining in on this event. Any kind of hate mail sent will be deleted and the user will be blocked, no questions asked.

Projection of harmful stereotypes will not be allowed. Any kind of portrayal of the villains is welcome, as long as everything is kept respectful, and it is clear that certain kinds of behavior are not justified.

All relationships and interpretations of sexualities are welcome! So long as your villain of choice is at the forefront of your content. Shipbashing is not permitted. You are also of course welcome to create general and non-ship content.

No A.I content is permitted and therefore will not be reblogged.

NSFW and mature content is allowed, so long as everything is appropriately tagged. That means on Tumblr, their guidelines for NSFW images are followed, and on AO3, or other posting platforms, the work is sufficiently tagged and rated according to that sites rules.

As we are dealing with the villains of the story, it needs to be clear, graphic depictions of Rape/Non-Con will not be reblogged.

There is a collection on AO3 for the works posted, (here is the link) There are three ways you can add your works to the collection.

If you go to the collections page you can press "Post to Collection" and post your fic as normal.

When posting your fic, scroll to the option "Post to Collections/Challenges" you can manually type in the name of our collection (SJM Villain Week 2024) and add it.

If you fic is already posted, click edit and scroll to the option "Post to Collections/Challenges, and add it to our event as you would when posting.

Over time, we realized that the issue goes beyond Ezra (despite Ezra being a massive problem) and we started to focus on the pediverse and paraphile movement as a whole. We are a very tiny team of people investigating the paraphile activist movement growing on the pediverse, and this account is run by 2 people. Who wrote the doc?

I, Art, wrote the document entirely by myself. I gathered every screenshot and merticulously put together the document over the course of two weeks. There are rumors that multiple people wrote it which is false. Only one individual wrote the document.

Where can I read the doc?

We cannot link the document directly, as the original post containing the document was completely wiped from tumblr in its entirity. (If anyone has an archive of the post please send it!)

Have you reported this to police?

Multiple. Times.

Throughout my time writing the document, over the course of multiple weeks our team has reached out to Lebanon PD and FBI regarding the website. We have and will continue to contact local authorities and we implore anyone with half a mind to do the same.

Can we DM you?

Yes. Anyone can DM us if you have leads regarding Ezra, the pedi, or information on any children on the site. Due to the amount of stress this investigation is putting on our team, we can only cover cases directly related to the pediverse.

What's the point? Why do you care so much?

As previously mentioned, our team is mainly built up of survivors of CSA. I myself am a victim of CSA, COCSA, online grooming and incest. I am also a queer person who cares about the image of the LGBT community. To me, it is extremely important to raise awareness of the paraphile movement and how they are attempting to infiltrate queer spaces. They have been invading queer spaces since the 1980s, and there is no end in sight.

The purpose of this is to archive, raise awareness and blow the whistle on these monsters because most queer mainstream media (like Pink News) refuses to touch this subject. With the rise in queerphobia from the far-right, painting us all as pedophile groomers, it is absolutely crucial that we as queer people get loud and angry at the pedophiles and zoophiles trying to worm into the community. The silence or denial about this movement's existence is destroying the queer community.

We're delighted to see how many people are excited to contribute and/or see the zine, and we've been reading through your questions, concerns and suggestions frequently to ensure that our process is as clear as possible.

Below the cut, we'll answer a few questions about the premise, applications, and the final outputs. If you have any questions not answered here, feel free to send us an ask!

So, what exactly is the MCYT Metazine?

The MCYT Metazine is a small zine with the aim of celebrating analysis and meta in Minecraft Youtube fandoms! With such a unique medium comes a certain type and nature of meta analysis, and we'd like to draw attention to the analysts and their work in this corner of the internet. We will be focusing on meta of the fandom and medium - whether any specific Minecraft media, a selection of media for comparison, or the entire fandom in general! We're also not limiting this to only Minecraft SMPs/series on Youtube; as per the generally-used definition, we'll accept media that's streamed on Twitch or similar platforms as well.

What form can the analysis take?

The analysis can take any form, as long as it manages to communicate some level of commentary or analysis! This can be a written essay, an academic-style essay with citations, an infographic, a webweave, a piece of art... we're open to whatever you can think of, provided you can reasonably explain your pitch and how it might look once it's done. This isn't something we've seen done before, so we don't want to place strict limits on what can be allowed - and we're sure some applications will surprise us with inventive topics and forms! For the audio/video component of the zine, we will provide the opportunity for analysts to read their analysis out loud or, if it doesn't take a traditional written form, to give some commentary on their piece. This is subject to discussion when that point comes - don't feel you need to limit yourself to something that needs to be read out loud!

Can we submit character/relationship analysis?

Character or relationship analysis can be pitched, however in most cases meta analysis will be preferred. If you'd very much like to do character/relationship analysis, we recommend doing so in a unique way. For example, you might pitch a novel approach to character/relationship analysis, relate your analysis to the wider fandom, or use your analysis as a case study of a particular fandom phenomena. If we can, we'd love to include this sort of analysis in the zine!

What does the artist role involve? What about the voice actor role?

The artist role will be to create art to accompany analyst pieces. We aim to have a good range of both analysts and artists so that this can be facilitated more easily, and art will not need to directly depict the accompanying analysis so that artists aren't limited to only the topics pitched. If you'd like to use art as a form of analysis, please apply as an analyst and specify this within the application! Voice actors will be reading written analysis out loud to form part of the audio component of the zine. Think of it as a podfic role but for the subject matter typical of a video essay! Applications for this will be much later in the year - around early May is our current estimate - so if you're interested we recommend keeping an eye out for that then.

What exactly do the different forms of output (digital/physical zine and audio/video components) mean?

The digital zine will be a fully-online version of the zine. A physical zine would be a printed version of the zine that can be shipped to you. At the moment, we're most likely to only create the digital zine out of these two - it will be free to download, and we'll be aiming to provide access to reading the zine online as well. An audio component of the zine would involve reading the analysis out loud; this is inspired by the concept of podcasts and video essays. We're hoping this will make the zine more accessible to readers and provide analysts a chance to hear their work read out loud or give commentary on their pieces. A video component would be very similar in concept, though would incorporate visual elements as appropriate to each piece. We currently plan to release the audio/video components on Youtube for affordable and accessible distribution. We're still deciding on whether we'll do audio or video elements, but we hope to try making at least one!

What does the schedule look like?

As of right now, the schedule isn't finalised. However, we aim to have moderator applications out on the 2nd February and analyst and artist applications out on the 2nd March. We plan to have a finalised schedule out by that date, after discussion with moderators.

Who can apply?

Anyone can apply, provided you are over the age limit for both Tumblr and Discord (this is 13 for most people, but please check your region's Terms of Service). We have a range of roles on offer, including moderators, analysts, artists, and voice actors. We also very much want to cover a range of MCYT subfandoms and topics, so we absolutely encourage applying if you're part of a smaller subfandom or have a very niche pitch you're interested in!

What socials are needed?

We need applicants to any role in this zine to have at least a Discord account for communication. For moderators, having a Tumblr account will be very useful. For contributors, this is optional - but we do recommend providing one so that we can promote your blog once the zine is released! Additionally, having a Google Drive or an equivalent way of storing recordings will be required for voice actors.

Do applicants need to provide past examples of their work? How finished do they need to be?

Providing examples of analysis or art are recommended in your application so that we can have a look at your style and/or approach. This can be for any fandom and, due to the nature of the zine, we're also open to it being about related topics. We understand that for analysts, you might not necessarily have something that directly relates to your pitch - linking something similar will be best in this case. We'll give more details on examples for voice actor applications closer to the time; for now, however, if you already have podfics, past voice acting work, or similar, you should be covered by the time applications open up!

Are there any limitations to content submitted for the zine?

We'd like to keep the zine SFW and avoid in-depth discussion of darker topics, for the purpose of accessibility. Discussion of shipping and RPF are permitted. During applications, we'll most likely judge this on a case-by-case basis, as we understand that there is a lot of nuance to the inclusion of darker topics within MCYT analysis. You can reach out to us to ask about specifics on this. We'll have space for multiple pitches during applications; you can give an alternative here should you still be unsure if one of your pitches covers allowed content. Note: Please avoid submitting pitches for discourse. We're aware this word has various meanings - in this case, we generally mean discussions of allegations against CCs, negativity about specific groups of fans, interpersonal drama, or similar. While we appreciate there is space for some of these within fandom, this zine does not endeavour to be that space.

Can someone apply to be several roles?

Yes! Moderators can apply to contribute, and contributors can apply to take multiple roles. Due to the diversity of roles on offer and the length of the project, however, we ask that you ensure you're willing to commit for the role within the schedule we provide. Notably, we will offer analysts the role of voice actor for their own pieces in the audio component of the zine first, before asking voice actors.

How many applicants will be accepted?

At the moment, we're not sure how many applications we'll get! As we anticipate a smaller pool of applicants, however, we estimate that we'll be accepted around 20-30 contributors for art and analysis and a flexible number of voice actors.

Do I have to create a work for every single prompt?

No, you can participate as much or as little as you want, producing one work or seven, it's up to you.

I'm writing fanfic and I wil be posting on my AO3 account, do I have to post my work here too?

You don't have to it if you don't want to, but if you'd like for your work to be featured in this blog, you'd have to post it using a Tumblr account so we can reblog your post. Remember to follow the tagging system below when posting!

Does this event have a collection on AO3?

Can I combine Jasico Week 2024 with other challenges?

Yes, as long as the other event allows it.

What if I don't like a prompt?

Along with the official prompt list, there will be four alternative prompts that you can choose from to replace a prompt.

What media can I make?

Whatever you'd like! Fanfic, fanart, moodboard, gifs, edits, etc.

Are there any requirements to make fanarts, gifs and edits?

Not for fanarts, no. Just make sure you give credit on your post to any music and/or images you’ll be using when making edits and gifs.

Can I post early?

Yes, but we won't be rebbloging any works before the official event starts.

What about posting late?

We will reblog posts of the correct date and up to one day late. For example, if you couldn't post your work for day two in time, we will still reblog it on day three, but it will only count as day two, you have to post something else for day three for it to count as filled. (that is, if you're aiming at being a completonist).

Can I make NSFW content?

Yes, as long as there is a warning at the top of the post and the mature feature on Tumblr is used.

Is there a min/max word count?

No, write as little or as much as you'd like.
