How do I write a girldad? Because I saw a severe lack of girldad prompts in your writing prompts.

How to write a girldad

To create a multidimensional girldad character there are some things to consider:

Make the character show love and attention to his daughter(s).

He is proud of everything his daughters do and encourage them to achieve their dreams and simply do what they want to do.

Listening to his daughters concerns, and giving advice if it is wanted.

Being protective of his daughters, but knowing that they also need to respect their independence and the decisions they make.

Being involved in their lives, knowing who their friends are and how they are doing in school and in sports.

Treating other women in his life with respect, showing his daughters the right standard.

That the daughters are getting older may be difficult for the girldad, but he copes and learns to adapt to their new lives.

How to show their good relationship:

Including light-hearted and playful conversations to show their close bond.

Giving them sincere and loving exchanges.

Showing everyday interactions, like discussing school, friends, or plans for the weekend.

Having him give attention and affection to his daughters even in public.

Showing that the daughter's female friends also feel comfortable with the dad.

Having them share a hobby, especially one that is considered more feminine.

Imagine if Machete and Vasco were dragons, but there was more lore behind it:

Machete being taken from their nest after their mother was killed, and “raised” by the church. He was beaten, humiliated and starved, described to the common folk as “a hideous creature” or a “spawn of the devil”.

One day, Vasco, a gold colored dragon finds Machete, and with his help, he breaks Machete out, and frees him.

They now live in a forested cave, far away from the reach of the cruel hand of man.

I won’t be asking for a while, but I have a question for you: do you happen to do art trades? Because I want to draw some of your characters, and I absolutely love art trades. I won’t bring up the question for a while because I’m working on writing right now, and also to give you enough time to consider if you want to do the art trade or not. tbh, i am open to the idea of art trades. i've only done one or two before, but they were pretty fun. i'm hesitant only bc my follow-through when it comes to art tends to be a bit Fickle orz

Sorry for reusing the same image as last time. With the Smaugust drawing challenge going on right now, I'm a little exhausted drawing-wise, otherwise I would have probably put an image of Tsunami whacking me over the head with a mail bag or something.

Thank you for the compliment. It's a cool and colorful style. I do dearly hope though that I'm managing to add a bit of my own spin to it, and am not just ripping him off wholesale.

That would certainly be very convenient, especially considering the situation that many Seawings grow up under, which is that there is a high chance for any given tooth to eventually be claimed by a violent monarch.

On the positive side, this means Seawings can probably go into business selling dentures.

I do enjoy Chameleon as a character.

Chameleon's story is very tragic and unfortunate, though he also caused a significant amount of problems. I would like to get into a deeper examination of what I think makes him tick, the things that were done to him and what he did to others in turn. Like, more in-depth than what is possible in a simple response like this.

I actually started writing that and I have a first draft ready, but I'd like to iron out some of the bumps first before I put that anywhere public. Provided that that's a thing people would be interested to see.

Nope. I do not have a discord server.

I'm actually kind of difficult to talk to, at least directly, so I can't imagine there to be many people who'd find that appealing. I'm a bit reclusive at the best of days, so even getting me to say anything without asking direct questions can be a trial.

Managing an online community is also a very time- and energy-consuming affair that would probably eat heavily into my ability to create content. So it's likely for the best that I don't.

I primarily use Krita for my drawings.
