Previous Selfships Through The Years

I got some hatemail so I'm taking that as an invitation to be even more self-indulgent than usual ^-^ As I've mentioned on this blog, I've been a selfshipper for basically as long as I've been a reader/writer, so this is a look backwards at some of my strongest early selfships! Because I just started drawing a few years ago, none of these made their way into art until this very moment.

Age 6: Sparr, from the Droon books. He's a villain who's very dangerous and his little fins behind his ears flash different colours when he feels strong emotions and he was trying to kidnap the princess and I was simply head over heels. Many of my early journals are fictional entries about running away with Sparr and living with him in his silly eight-wheeled yellow car. I wrote this story over and over again, page after page. I wrote about how happy we were together and that I would never go home again. My parents drew me birthday cards with Sparr on them.

Age 8: A fiery redhead from a mystery book series! My journal entries about her were some of the things that later clued me in that I was gay. I wrote several journals about how much I wanted to kiss her and live in her world. I even told people in my class that I wanted to date her, which made them tease me a lot. But I didn't give up on her!

Age 12: The absolute turning point for me, the age where I really started to feel 'wrong' compared to my peers, and I fell in love with the Joker as my saviour from the social norms I didn't feel capable of upholding. I had just found out about fanfiction at age 11 and I started writing all kinds of self-insert fics with The Joker where I was a daughter of a Gotham businessman. I never published any of them, or read anyone else's fics at the time because The Joker felt too personal for me, but it was a defining experience for me: finding comfort in fandom and specifically selfshipping during the first wave of mental health struggles that would carry me through my teenage years.

Age 15: Demon!Dean Winchester, Supernatural. By this point I was fully into online fandom spaces and had fallen out of selfshipping because it wasn't very popular: but I went through a phase where I would write all my favourite characters as demons because all I really wanted was more of demon!dean and I didn't feel able to acknowledge how much I really wanted to write about him because, again, it felt too personal to really share. Looking back, it was definitely a selfship that I was just too nervous to explore at the time.

sorry if this is super passive aggressive sounding or ranty but As open as this community seems some of you are so misogynistic Like wlw and mlw selfships , if the self insert is a woman or fem presenting some of you people freak out , or if the f/o is a woman or fem presenting ! Someone on twitter had a very fem presenting genderfluid self insert and selfshipped with a character that is a bit on the fruitier side but nothing is canon And people went batshit because the artist was "forcing mlw on a gay character" when the self insert wasnt even a woman ??? just fem presenting ???? like in general you people need to learn she/her pronouns and being fem presenting doesn't mean woman . Certain tmascs still use she/her and present themselves as fem -- self inserts can be the same thing without the constant hate and misinformation?

also I noticed that wlw selfshippers just dont get as much attention as mlm or mlw in general and I think we all know why lol . im not an wlw selfshipper but my closest friends are and I honestly hate seeing my selfship get more attention than theirs when their art , lore and writing has so much more effort put into it ? but its ignored because its a wlw selfship like way to go guys .

Why I'm Okay With Proshipping

When I think about about the things related to proshipping that I like (incest, minorxadult, etc.) in the context of real life, I feel grossed out and disgusted. I know I could never engage in such things because it'd be too nauseatingly weird. (Plus, I don't even have the means to do any of the things I like because of the way I am [I hate children and I have no siblings for example.].)

However, in the fictional world, anything can happen. Think of anime and manga for example. My first proship was the Hitachiin twins from Ouran High School Host Club. The creators literally alluded to them having a relationship. In the context of fiction, proshipping gives a thrill. It's fun and harmless and opens up a whole new set of possibilities to be creative, plus I can entertain the ideas of having siblings and other such things, even without the context of proshipping.

Hopefully this gives you guys some sense of how my mind work, and I'm sure other proshippers minds work. The comfort you should have is the fact I literally am disgusted by children irl, and I always have been, even as a child.

Newest TADC was kinda...not bad, no. Far from it. No episode has been bad so far. But it felt very...nothing? Like it was the standard 25 mins, but it felt way shorter. This episode was supposed to be the Ragatha episode tmk, but it didn't really feel too focused on her. If anything felt more like a Jax episode? And even then it felt VERY unfocused, what with the lighting round approach.

The bar scene was probably my favorite, cause I love getting insight on the character pre-circus. And I'm sure it'll get some pay off later down the line, but rn it was just Kinda Okay.

and this is definitely my own head canon but. I really would like to think if she did this I was in the room, and she saw how freaked out I'd get, she'd immediately put aside her pride and apologize. I might even make it a moment in our story/lore

my ex used to do this. a lot. and then he'd say it's fine because he'd never lay a hand on me physically so it doesn't make sense that I'm freaking out whenever he punches walls. he never apologized once.

Jasper cares about me enough to pull back and apologize. It would be an awkward moment. She doesn't quite know *how* to. But I'd like to think she would see the wrong of it and attempt to say sorry.

Well, Here We Go Again…

I’ve got a new romantic f/o everyone…he would make my parents faint so that makes me like him even more, and the reason why is NOT something I will reveal…I’m not revealing him yet, but he’s technically a previous version of an established character, who is also a well known tumblr sexyman…got any guesses 😉.
