Dean the typa guy to force Sam and Castiel to say “Tequila” during the Tequila song by The Champs. he’d purposely put on the song in the impala. this has happened so many times that the 3 have the whole melody memorized. and as the very opening guitar strumming starts Castiel and Sam look at each other like 😐

Dean would be smiling, tapping his finger on the wheel to be beat, and humming along to the trumpet solo. if Sam and Castiel choose to play along and say “Tequila”, it’d be in such a monotone and pissed way. like “i’m being forced to say this and i’m gonna roll my eyes while doing so. god he’s so childish”

it’s not even a big deal. it’s just a stupid song Dean likes. but he’s just so annoying about it that it becomes a big deal💀

WTF is the point of redemption in Hazbin Hotel???

I was sitting around thinking about HH, as you do when you have an all-consuming hyperfixation that squeezes its way into every minute of your existence, and I thought of a major plot hole that I haven't seen anyone else question yet.

Yes, I know Hazbin Hotel is known online as the show with a multitude of stupid plot holes and writing blunders already, BUT THIS IS PARTICULARLY EGREGIOUS FOR ME EVEN AS A FAN BECAUSE IT SURROUNDS THE ENTIRE CONCEPT OF THE SHOW ITSELF.

Why does Charlie want to redeem sinners? What will sinners find in Heaven that can't be implemented into daily life in Hell? Why would sinners want redemption? Why are we as an audience supposed to be rooting for these characters to end up in heaven?

You might be about to scroll or reblog with some nasty comment in the tags because the obvious answer is DUH, THEY WANT TO ESCAPE EXTERMINATION. THE ANGELS FUCKING KILL THEM EVERY YEAR, DUMBASS.

But hear me out, okay?

In hell, sinners aren't facing eternal punishment enforced by any kind of governing higher power, as is typically depicted in religious texts. Hell is basically just earth minus all order. Chaos only reigns supreme because of internal fighting amongst sinners that isn't regulated at all.

The only two things I observed to be different between life in Heaven and Hell are soul contracts and general atmosphere. And firstly, not to victim-blame, but selling your soul is something you do willingly in Hell. Maybe you were manipulated into it or something because of poor circumstances, but everyone who is owned and controlled is living that way because they signed their name on the contract.

So, hypothetically, a sinner who minds their own business could potentially live a normal (probably short due to exterminations) afterlife. Maybe even a happy one? if they're carefree enough.

We see this displayed in Mimzy and Cheri Bomb clearly.

Mimzy enjoys her life in hell, as pointed out by Alastor. Cheri Bomb too. She seems happy to go clubbing and sin all night long without any consequences.

So again I ask, what's the point of seeking redemption in Hazbin Hotel? What sins are they repenting for that are so awful that it degrades their quality of life?

Charlie thinks that redeeming sinners in the Hotel will solve Hell's overpopulation issue, but in reality, what she really has an issue with is the exterminations because they're the only form of "punishment" her people are facing at all.

The only thing making Hell bad is the sinners being cunts to each other and angels controlling overpopulation. The only thing making Heaven better is the angels being kind to each other.

In fact, Heaven may accidentally be making life in Hell better for sinners by controlling overpopulation. We're told that they're afraid of an uprising occurring, but if we ignore that fact, fewer people in hell = more quality afterlives for those who survive simply because killing sinners = fewer people who are evil.

All this to say, is getting into heaven even necessary? On earth, if someone commits a crime, typically law enforcement catches them and punishes them, therefore at least attempting to make life peaceful for the average citizen.

Would hell be a more peaceful/habitable place if the pride ring implemented law enforcement?

Well...no. Because of this:

Charlie's REAL philosophy is

Hell = Bad because Sinners = Bad because they sin.

Heaven = Good because Angels = Good because they don't sin.

Heaven doesn't need law enforcement, because angels are perfect and never do wrong!

Hell doesn't have law enforcement because everyone is bad, and therefore the effort would be useless. Police officers or whoever they find to work these jobs would be just as evil as everyone else, and chaos would continue.

This is what the show is really saying. Charlie even reinforces this for some reason. Even after Adam rejects her, she wants to go to heaven to try and convince angels to stop exterminations because she feels they have good in their hearts. She believes this even though every angel she's ever met so far has been an asshole to her.

The only sinners that are in her hotel are trying to be redeemed because they want to escape the contracts their souls are in. They don't want to go to Heaven. Not really. They are just searching for a place they won't be taken advantage of. This makes Charlie's actions more manipulative than well-meaning in my eyes. She's falsely associating adopting her idea of becoming "good" with escaping to heaven and therefore escaping the contracts they signed.

But in reality, the only thing Heaven has is cleaner streets, bright colors, and a government that keeps secrets from its people.

Sir Pentious joins the hotel even though his soul isn't owned just because he's an outcast everywhere else. Charlie then manipulates him into thinking Heaven is his final goal, just like the rest of the sinners in her hotel.

In reality, everyone's goal is to escape being killed and/or abused. That isn't guaranteed in hell, though. And if it is, it's only because there's nothing stopping it from being that way.

Basically, as a summary, for a show trying to be about morally grey, complex characters and redemption, the rules of this universe and the ideals of our main character are very black and white.

Heaven is a good place because good people are there.

Hell is a bad place because bad people are there.

If you are good, you go to heaven. If you are bad, you go to hell. The show practically beats this point into us at the end of the finale when Pentious, a character we're supposed to see as good, ends up in Heaven.

If it were up to me, Pentious would NOT be happy in heaven. His love, friends, inventions, and egg bois are back in Hell. He would be living peacefully if he didn't try and fight people all the time.

DOES THIS MAKE SENSE? PLEASE TELL ME YOU SEE THE POINT I'M TRYING TO MAKE...

The moral the show is trying to give us is contradicted at every point BY COMPLETE ACCIDENT.

This will be a long response forgive me.

I ideologically disagree with them and their stance on fiction. I believe their insistence for nuance while not being nuanced themself is infuriating and troubling. I believe fiction can depict any heavy or sensitive subject but is deserving of criticism for however the subject is portrayed as. I do not believe harassment or censorship is an appropriate response to it. I believe there are instances where fiction has affected reality and usually reflect the values of the environment and time period it was created in. I'm autistic so i know how fictional portrayals can affect the attitudes for how others treat Autism: for better or for worse. If a dark subject has been portrayed as romantic despite it not being so for years, decades - it will inevitably affect reality. Like how Navobov’s Lolita was treated by the public. Trying to say otherwise for the sake of fanfiction discourse is ignorant.

My take is if you ship incest or pedophilia/child x adult and go on about how hot it is, you're fucking weird and I recommend you don't interact with minors if you openly identify as a proshipper. That's really it and it's still a hard feat for proshippers to not do, especially from adults who should honestly know better. That would consider me an anti or an "proshipper" depending on who you ask because I don't want proshippers dead or doxxed. But just consider, I do not like proshippers.

The community has a pattern for ignoring racist content because of the argument “fiction is not reality”. People of color and other marginalized people were kicked out of proshipper circles for disliking racist or nazi art. Proshippers have called others who don't like RPF of real minors “antis”, so believe it or not, they also change definitions on a whim. They talk about AO3 as though it's a beacon of anti-censorship, while the site goes on to censor fics with "Free Palestine" tags. I believe comparing fictional shipping discourse to the subjugation and injustice of marginalized groups in order to defend those ships is highly disgusting and insensitive. derailing serious political discussions to bring up antis shows how little some people actually understand oppression to think it's comparable. comparing antis to cops and authoritarian institutions is disgusting. using the pink triangle to compare the abuse and mass-murder of queer people in the Holocaust to shipping incest or pedophilia is in poor taste AT BEST.

It's not just fanfiction, it's a type of behavior that people in fandom ignore and celebrate. Pardon me if I think they are annoying and insufferable at the very least and I don’t want to talk to them. This is why I dislike proshippers. That is why I have the “Proships DNI”. Thanks.
