Hoo boy here we go- This one might make some people mad at me, so I'll preface by saying I do not want to start a fight and as long as you respect my business, I'll respect yours. But let's get this over with-

First off, I genuinely don't understand how some people can see the Ace-In-The-Hole quote and still believe that Alastor is only intended to be asexual and not also aromantic. Yes, the term Rosie used for purpose of the pun was 'ace', but can we look at the context of that moment before jumping to conclusions?

Rosie, motioning to Charlie: "Oh, who's this you brought with you? Come now, Alastor, she's much too young for you! Oh, I'm just kidding. I know you're an ace in the hole!"

Her original statement implies nothing sexual, only that he's involved in a relationship with Charlie, and she follows it up with why she knows that couldn't be because he's an 'ace in the hole'. I don't think you have to read too far between the lines to see that.

I would also like to say that when Vivienne has spoken about his orientation before, I recall her saying that she didn't want to confirm him being aromantic so that she wouldn't 'ruin anyone's fun', which I just feel like is an odd thing to say if she wasn't already explicitly picturing him as aroace. If she thought he had romantic attraction, why wouldn't she just say that? What fun would that ruin? I also feel like keeping things like this ambiguous just to appease the shippers is a little weird, but I digress-

And to those of you who I know are saying "But aromantic people can be in relationships too!!" *deep inhale* yeah I know. I'm not gonna pretend you're not right about that, but there are also aroace people who have exactly 0 interest in romance or sex at all. This is the part of the post that really is based on how I interpret certain moments, but to me he is absolutely one of those people. I don't really know where people get any vibes of him being interested in that stuff. I have never once looked at him and thought "Yeah I could see him in a romantic relationship with *insert character here*". Even aside from attraction in general, since that's what we'd be talking about at this point anyway, he just seems like the kind of guy who'd rather work and live independently instead of relying on anyone, whether practically or emotionally (which is also probably part of the reason he never joined the Vees, but that's another topic entirely). Hell, I'm pretty sure he's in heavy denial about even developing any kind of care or friendship with the people at the hotel (ie. the episode 8 scene with him and Niffty).

The only ships I see him involved in with people he doesn't hate (so ignoring RadioApple, RadioHusk, and StaticRadio. But to be real, maybe the fact all his main ships are enemies to lovers coded says something about the whole situation, but that's just me-) are Charlastor - which I will not even try to discuss here, people aren't gonna like this post as it is - and RadioRose. Rosie and him would at least be fair, if it weren't for one thing (which is also personal opinion on my end), and I don't know exactly how to word it. I'm tempted to say she has wingwoman vibes? But she knows he's aro, so that's not the right word, but there's vibes of like, she probably did act as a wingwoman before she realized that about him or something.. There's also something about her joking around like "Oh this is the girl? You have a girlfriend and I'm only now meeting her?" is almost giving motherly behavior. Idk man they're just besties to me, I could see them in a QPR though (not that they'd probably label it that way, considering the word queerplatonic is likely just complete gibberish to Alastor lmao).

So to summarize: It feels incredibly likely, if not practically canon, that Alastor was written with aromanticism in mind, even if Vivienne refuses to explicitly state it. Subtext and not-that-subtle implications can say just as much about a character as word of God, especially when that God has explicitly told us why she won't confirm or deny this information. Do I think any of this will stop people from shipping him romantically with literally any other character? No ofc it won't, and that's okay, that's just what fandoms do. I do think there's something to say for the fact the one aroace (or even at the very least asexual) character gets constantly shipped with everyone else in the cast, but this post is long enough I think. The only point of posting this is that I wanted to get information out there in one post to say "Hey, let's look a little bit past the surface for a second before saying there's no proof of him being aromantic"

Doki Doki Literature Club AU

Alastor as the main character/person you play as. He's not as lethargic as the main character, but it's fucking law that everyone is obsessed with him. Plus, this is just an excuse to fit a bunch of Alastor ships into one place.

Monika as Vox, because obviously. Techy one that fucks with the code to get the person he's after- yeah, Monika.

Lucifer could honestly be any of the other three in my mind tbh, so I'll pick his character by process of elimination (like Monika does to MC's choices, lololololol-)

Yuri as Lilith, because who the fuck else would she be??? Tall, elegant, smart, pretty, PURPLE. And no, I'm not a Yuri fangirl, idk why you'd think that.

Natsuki as Angel, a lot because of the pink. Oml so much pink. And I think he works well as a tsundere character; plus, out of everyone else, I feel like he's one of the most likely to have such a fixation with cutesy things

So, that leaves Lucifer with Sayori, which works really well because he's always trying to show the best version of himself to make other's happy, and giving away every bit of himself that he can just to please others. Also, DEPRESSION, and getting jealous when Alastor starts connecting with others. Plus, I love a good Childhood Friends to Lovers.

I'm sick in the head.

Never mind going to bed, there are a bunch of other variations of this that I need to list:

Angel as Sayori, because he's always dealing with more than he lets on. And, for as much as he likes colorful shit, I feel like he'd be more in the middle, liking both melancholy and sweet things.

Charlie as Sayori, for a similar reason as Lucifer: Always putting her needs aside to help others, trying to be as cheerful as possible no matter how she feels, and pushing others to better themselves while disregarding herself.

Lucifer as Natsuki, because Enemies to Lover, tsundere, (shit family life), obsession with baking/sweet things. Need I say more?

Husker as Natsuki, because he gives strong tsundere vibes, and the clashing aesthetics of the two would be fucking hilarious.

Alastor as Natsuki, and switch Lucifer and Alastor's roles as the main character. Al's great at cooking (baking sweets in this case, so not entirely fitting), (shit family life), and Enemies to Lovers TSUNDERE TSUNDERE TSUNDERE

Alastor as Yuri. Like Lilith, he wouldn't be as timid as she is in the game, buuuuut: Smart, tall, and has a knife obsession; just how Lucifer likes them.

Honestly can't find a great way to fit Rosie into here, but I suppose Rosie as Yuri. Crazy, tall, smart cannibal lady, for all you RadioRose enjoyers.

For AngelicRadio freaks fans, Adam as the main character, because that fucker's too graceless and crass to be any of the 4 girls. Lazy and content doing nothing with his time, and entirely mishandling someone's confession of lifelong depression.

And there's probably a million other variations of this possible, specially is Alastor isn't the main character (which, when is he not?)

For me, what attracted me to your blog was the openness for darker themes and not shying away from the real truth of why Alastor's in Hell. I want to focus on those heavy themes and more on character development (forwards and backwards, negative growth is still, uh, a development ahaha), and shipping isn't a goal in mind, just a conversation and exploration! just know, my friend, that I'm putting every single lucifer blog in my MOUTH (in a good way). Alastor is an absolute menace to ship with and I'm a huge slut for a good slow burn under his aroace cannibal freak lens, but my favorite canon ones for him are radioapple, radiostatic, radiorose, and radiosnake. i be barkin for good interactions there BARK BARK but YES I really do like to explore Alastor's darker side and I emphasize a lot that he IS very much a villain character who 100% deserved his lot in Hell - even his Deal with Lilith is really mostly his own doing and while there are sympathetic aspects of him, bro REALLY DID just murder and cannibalize a bunch of innocent people for no reason (or, they were innocent in my Al's case, anyway - he did not have a moral code when selecting his victims, they were just acts of convenience). he's legitimately a terrible person which makes interactions with characters who sort of either try to make him better or try to make him WORSE both interesting to play with and explore. BUT YEAH FEEL FREE TO TAG I'm always down to interact whenever I'm able to <3 thanks for the questions!

radioapple? my personal fav and fun dynamics imo. charlastor I really like that one too and i definitely see the potential, fun duo. radiodust, love that one a friendship between them has so much potential it’s insane. vaggastor? Yes Bonding potential too!! radiorose I love them so so so much alastor loves them mommy coded women which goes to show why i absolutely love radioqueen so much. these two have soooo much potential especially with their shared 7 year disappearance, and dynamics with lucifer. Forever fav alastor rarepair. Radiohusk? Yeah they’re so fucked up but deep and fun to me!! Radiosnake is hilarious and fun! almimzy is actually so fire to me. angelicradio is funny af and I secretly like it. Valastor is not my fav but I can definitely see where people are coming from. radiostatic, while this is actually my only fr notp lmao, I can very much see the appeal and why others like them so much. they can be sooo interesting!
