Happy #AudioDramaSunday wanderers! Looking for a show to fill the void now that the Fringes is over? Well, look no further as today we're shouting out some excellent shows to fall in love with now that our show has concluded! Let's get started!
Starting things off with @souloperatorpod which was created by our very own Marigold, @totcoc0a ! Soul Operator is horror and mystery and ttrpg inspire amazingness. Everything Tot has done with this show sings in the best of ways and @strautmaskreplica's editing is divine
@grottopod is liminal horror about grief and caving with original music and cover songs in each episode and it's absolutely fantastic. Our very own @taytayheyhey is one of the main characters and does amazing work! @athansmusic has ripped my heart out and honestly? Worth it.
@woebegonepod starts as a fictional game and becomes time travel, murder, and cowboys. It also has amazing original music its episodes and while most of it has been just Dylan's voice acting, the VAs he has in the later seasons are wonderful. This show defies genre and I love it
@tellnotalespod has ghosts! And grief! And convoluted science about ghosts and grief! It is the kindest show about ghosts you will ever encounter and has made me cry so much. Leon Egan poured his whole heart into this show and it shows in every facet of it
Would this really be a recommendation list from me if I didn't mention @ethicstownpod ? Imagine if moral quandries carried real world weight and then turn that guilt up to 11 and you have Ethics Town. I adore this show and everything that it has become and I cannot WAIT for S3
It also wouldn't be me without mentioning The Technomancy Project which is another genre mashup in the best of ways it's got horror it's got sci fi it's got magic it's made me cry it's great!
@thekilda is part of the reason that the Fringes happened at all. Seeing this dark fantasy cult stuff podcast from the ground up inspired me to finish writing the Fringes and I'm eternally grateful. It also introduced me to Michelle Kelly's work and then she became Alexandria!
@doyoucopypod is another show about grief (why do I love so many shows about grief?) with horror and fantasy elements and it squeezes my heart in my chest. @delaylays has created one of my favorite series of all time with this show and I know s3 will destroy me
@allatseapod is horror-ish microfiction about being stranded- you guessed it- at sea. Noah Bell's voice acting and writing are both phenomenal and i am desperate to find out how Feb got themself into this mess they're in
@audistorium is an anthology which runs all over the genre-sphere and has some of the best writing and sound design I've ever heard. It's got an episode for every kind of listener and Landon Lemon Whisnant does excellent voice work in it!
@thenightpost has cozy horror vibes and also respect the post office which is something we should all do more. The magic in this world is so intriguing and the characters are so engaging and all of the work in it is wonderful I cannot recommend it more
@hinaypod also falls into cozy horror for me but more along the lines of "Motzie Dapul has a very soothing and cozy voice and OPE NOPE THERES THE HORRORS!" Im very early on still but the weaving of magic and folklore and Filipino culture is fantastic (Also they're crowdfunding for season 3 on ko-fi and you wanna back it soooo bad https://ko-fi.com/hinaypod/goal?g=34)
And finally (for this post at least) we have @camlannpod which is the most hopeful post apocalypse show I've ever encountered. It has Arthurian legends, folklore, mythology, beautiful music, brilliant performances, excellent writing, and Paul Warren, what more could you want?
If you're looking for more from me to fill the void, then you're in luck as @forgedbondspod starts on the 18th!! If you wanna get access to that even sooner, it will be going like for crowdfunder backers and patrons over at patreon.com/pinetreepods on the 14th!
Work and working on Forged Bonds has kept me busy so I haven't had as much podcast listening time but I'm hoping to get back in the swing of listening and Audio Drama Sunday posting again soon!!

Hi yes hello its Pine again and I've been super into @camlannpod since it was announced but this week's episode specifically has done irreparable things to my heart and I think the fact that this is coming on this account can tell you why. Ella Watts took a character I've loved and studied for years and just. Modernized him in the perfect way.
Odysseus has always been a man trying to outrun his fate, but seeing the way that this was Camlann-ified was even more heartpunching than I imagined. He mourns. He holds guilt in his chest til he explodes with it. He is determined to do the thing that the original Odysseus wasn't able to: change his fate. And with Ariadne by his side, I think he can actually do that. Their stories are being woven together so wonderfully and it's making my little Classics major brain sing.
If you haven't listened to Camlann, I cannot recommend it more highly. If you're even slightly excited for the myth-bending nonsense I have planned for Forged Bonds, then you'll adore everything being done with Camlann

5 Twisted Book Recommendations for People who have a Dark Sense of Humor...
1.) Beautiful Darkness by: Kerascoët

The novel tells the tale of Aurora, a girl who finds herself taking a leadership role in her community after a horrible disaster occurs... The story starts out with a whimsical tone, but rapidly devolves into a more morbid narrative.
Beautiful Darkness is wickedly good and creepy. Surreal, surprisingly disturbing, and well...dark.
The twists in this made my jaw drop. Especially the initial one. It acts as sort of an anti-fairytale of sorts. Complemented with its cute, cartoon- ish, and simplistic art style. Its pleasant watercolors and... super bloody deaths and graphic violence. Obviously!
There is so much to unpack in this gorgeous graphic novel. Themes of death and mortality, the innate savagery within humankind, and so much more than I can get into here.
(Although if you are curious... you can read a better deconstruction of the novel here:)(Hopefully after you read it).
2.) The Bunny Suicides by: Andy Riley
Over The Top and hilarious. This is a series of feel good comic strips with no solid plot lines except for featuring cutsie creatures, (bunnies in this case) attempting a single goal: to die in the most brutally and over complicated ways imaginable. As a depressive person myself… I found this hilarious. As the name suggests, this was exactly that. A bunch of bunnies “ “unaliving “ themselves in a darkly humorous fashion. And somehow there was humor to be found in its gruesome yet, not gratuitous pages, unlike *ahem* some other shows with similar punchlines…
For me, this was what “Happy Tree Friends" was trying to be… Slightly edgy, fairly dark, outwardly innocent, and weirdly—fun?
3.) Dead Weight: Murder at Camp Bloom by: Terry Blas

✨Camp✨ is in the name and in the game for this graphic novel. When a group of misfit kids staying at a fat camp for the summer find out that one of the councilors have been brutally murdered, it's up to them to find out who did it, and if the killer plans on striking again… There's a nice diversity to the characters here, and their sleuthing reminded me of the Mystery Gang meets Sleep Away Camp. The art style was round and soft, and was somewhat reminiscent of the Gravity Falls art style to me.
5.) Stray Dogs by: Tony Fleecs

Stray Dogs, written by Tony Fleecs and illustrated by Trish Forstner follows a group of canine friends that wouldn't be out of place in a G-rated movie. But instead of discovering the power of friendship, they use their limited detective skills to uncover that their new owner is, in fact, a serial killer. Stray Dogs, is a strange mix of a cute Disney movie, meets "Silence of the Lambs." The overarching mystery pulled me in instantly, and the hits keep coming.
6.) I Kill Giants by: Joe Kelly

I Kill Giants is the story of a loner at school escaping into a fantasy world. But all is not as it seems with Barbara, and Barbara is not what they think she seems to the children at school that torment her, her family, or her only friend. Because Barbara has a secret: She kills Giants.
The art was sketchy, and simplistic, but charming.I liked the simple main character design. Which remained distinct, while also not trying too hard to be quirky.

Can we PLEASE normalize non-sexual nudity in art, I'm aroace, but I find the human body so fascinating and beautiful, and like seeing how different people represent it
but whenever I see nude artwork there's always some rat in the comments saying "sus" or criticizing the artist for daring to draw someone with no clothes on, in a non suggestive manner, it's a shame so many people only see it as an object of attraction, please make more cool art
#Non-Sexual Nudity#art rant#aroace#aromantic#asexual#slightly edited it<3#actually since this post is doing pretty well#can some of you recommend me more artists that handle nudity well?#anti purity culture

Hello wanderers it's time for a very late #AudioDramaSunday post! Starting off with @hinaypod which i am continuing my listen through and I just love the way Filipino culture is weaved into every inch of the show- it makes me think of my godfather and the things he would tell me about the Philippines and even in its horror it still feels like a comforting hug from my Nino (and then the horror hits again but ya know sometimes you gotta hug the horrors its fine)
@woebegonepod pls leave my boy Emdubya alone I'm so worried for what else is coming this season especially for him. Also worried about Tex I don't trust that he's Tex. Dylan is making me too suspicious of all of my cowboys and how suspicious and unlike themselves they're acting
Super Suits came back last week!! I didn't get to listen until this week but gods did i miss this show it's so silly and so wonderful also Noah Belachew is such a fantastic voice actor I can't wait to hear more from his character
@allatseapod continues to be a perfect bite-sized bit of horror that is voiced so wonderfully by Noah Bell who i adore everyone should listen to all at sea go do it right now
@kingmakerpod also had its triumphant return this week! Loml Ariadne Culver continues to be up to her usual tricks and i love her for it also my beloved trio of criminals are still on the run from the law but it's fine they'll be fine. Colette and Telesphore's conversation RUINED ME I love them and their friendship just like I love Eisen and Colette's friendship these three hold my whole heart and I'm so glad The Kingmaker Histories is back
@thecellarletters continues to grab me with its mysteries and with Nathan Lunsford's performance as Nate's dad. I wanna know what's happening and what's the truth of what happened to Nate's dad because every time the tape changes i get a little more intrigued and a lot more concerned
This week on the @doyoucopypod we had the release of @souloperatorpod 's Inkwell Haven piece which i also happen to be in! Tot let me scream and cry and experience the horrors! She wrote a fantastic piece and yall should check it out
Also in personal news, I can officially share that I'm taking part in @/exiledrhapsody! @kit-n-kboodl has written a wonderful and super trans/neurodivergent Frankenstein and my gods yall my episode makes me weep in nonbinary yall are gonna love what kits doing he's amazing
Here on the Fringes we released episode 28 for the public and 29 for patrons over at patreon.com/pinetreepods! Episode 28 is one of my personal favorites because it marks the return of my wonderful moss friend voiced by the even more wonderful Paul Warren go check it out!
And over on @forgedbondspod I'm so close to releasing the official trailer with the actual release date in it i just need to figure out one last thing with the Fringes timeline so I can decide when in December Forged Bonds will start. This cast is doing amazing things yall!
That's all for this week! Work has been busy but I'm starting to draft out some of the ideas I have for my next show, currently called my Untitled Murder Husbands project but it will be titled eventually I promise

Its the last #AudioDramaSunday of our campaign! I'm gonna do something a lil different and shout out some of the fantastic shows that our brilliant cast members are in
Starting off with @souloperatorpod which was created by our very own Aphrodite @totcoc0a! It's a ttrpg inspired podcast that is full of mystery and danger and heartache that is so brilliantly done. Tot is phenomenal both as a writer and VA in the show, you can feel the care they put into it. Also in the cast are our Dionysus and Ares, Mike LeBeau and @taytayheyhey!
Up next we have @woebegonepod which is a genre blending story of time travel and the things people will do to have power over it. It's one of my favorite shows currently and features a chunk of our cast: Tay, Tot, @doomedbythenarrativ , and @athansmusic to be specific!
Speaking of all of those people, they're also featured in the @grottopod which is another show I absolutely adore. Athan, Lyssa, and Tay are leads in the show (created by Athan) while Tot, Cody Heath, and I have had background roles in it. It's liminal horror about grief and it's incredible.
Now that Cody is here, we have to talk about @somewhereohio ! Shady supernatural government agency, some time fuckery, and an amazing cast that also has overlap with our show. Tot, Tay, and Cody are all in this one (Cody playing my favorite character in s2!)
Following Cody for a moment, we also have the astonishing @doyoucopypod which also has a shady supernatural government agency but this time with more heartbreak for me personally! It's made by a dear friend and Cody is my favorite s1 character they were amazing
While Mike is well known for his role in The Magnus Archives, his roles in Tiny Terrors and @thetownwhispers are two of my favorites! He's very good at being in horror podcasts which is why i have put him in my mythology romance podcast- he has the range!
There are many things I can shout out that have Alasdair Stuart and Marguerite Kenner but my favorites come from their work as the co-owners of Escape Artists Podcasts. They did a PseudoPod episode that lives rent free in my mind and also just bring so much life and care to this space
@tellnotalespod is another one of my favorite podcasts and this one was created by the amazing Leanne Egan and also features our Demeter Asher Amor-Train! It's a ghost story with so much life and care to it. The most recent episode made me weep and this is a very common occurance!
If you would like to help me support this incredible cast of amazing people, there are 4 days left in our crowdfunder! We close out on Thursday, why not give it a look?
Another massive thank you to everyone in this show, I couldn't do what I'm doing without your help. This show is what it is because I have the amazing people I'm working with in it and it's the biggest honor a person can imagine 💜
