Second one's just a lovely depiction of Ghost and Roach's dynamic. Loved the banter and the second chapter ends real sweetly :)

Both by doberman, these two are much longer fics (which ghostroach is in desperate need of) and are such interesting reads!!

The first one is an AU that takes place in a pub with Ghost being his repressed, unhealthy self, and Roach coming in as the new co-worker to sweep him off his feet lol

The second one is ongoing and takes place slightly after MWII with Ghost meeting Roach outside of deployment

Second one's about Roach deciding to leave the SAS whilst he and Ghost have complicated feelings for eachother due to past hookups. Both great reads!

Man I can't even begin to describe how much I love this one. Portrays Ghost and Roach's relationship post-loose ends where Roach is now a civilian. Loved how the author depicted their relationship as not flawless. Felt very human and raw. Very sweet ending :)

Funny how my top two GSR fics are named the same thing, but hey, they're both amazing. I was apprehensive because of the "calling Soap Roach by accident" trope, however they really diverted my expectations and made these three really feel like equals in a relationship. Really love how they made sure to establish a strong dynamic between Soap and Roach instead of pitting them against each other. And Roach isn't just some 2D character here, he's very nuanced and I love it!

🔎 @224bbaker (18) Oh my god. I listened to this episode while on a train and had to stop myself from not laughing out loud OR shedding a few tears. What absolutely incredible writing in that improv scene and the various VAs absolutely NAILED the delivery. I’m literally obsessed with how this show uses narrative foils and subverts your expectations with them at every step.

Honestly, I already love James Stallion too much, have mercy on me: “Do you know how frustrating it is to love someone who doesn’t love themselves the way you love them? It’s like being told you're an idiot for breathing air. Well, as it turns out, if I stop breathing, I’ll die, and if I stop supporting you, I’ll… “

Also: send an ambulance because I’ve been listening to Lucy Dacus’ Lost Time and thinking about Holmes and Watson. It's making me unwell.

🧋 @hinaypod (41-48) So much happened in my ear this week on Hi Nay! We burned RH, we met the Benefactor, Mari told the truth about her Nay, THE J + DOOLEY PART 2!!!!!! I tidied my entire house and weeded my friend’s garden with this in my ears and it was such a good time. I’m so excited to be caught up so I can properly appreciate all the vague-posting on social media!!

🗺 @tales-from-the-low-city (16) So cool to have all the strange occurrences from this season tie together. It’s got me wondering what other cities might be out there. I’m very much looking forwards to finding out how this huge change affects the city going forward! The thought of the broken grípralviðr makes me so sad and I’m with Dís on the global warming theory - scorching everything is not a solution. I knew the fact that Arna was injured at a climate protest was going to be relevant but it’s so cool for that piece of the puzzle to click together!! I’m SO excited for the next season and honestly don’t want to think too hard about the fact that it’s the last!

Of your many stories, completed and in progress, is there any in particular that is giving/gave you particular difficulties in writing, to the point that if you were ever going to give up on a story you would have given up on that one?

A few steps above ‘never’ was weirdly hard to get out, and given that I wasn’t expecting much of a reception for a character pov I’d not published anything for before, I think if any were to have fallen off the wagon it might have been that one (sorry Colin)

That said, I live on the possibility that any WIP could be the next fic I get super motivated into completing. But I’m also bad at completing things. But I’m also not great about knowing when to quit things. So endless possibilities it is

Audio Drama Sunday - 9th February ✨

I’ve listened to loads of audio drama this week and had a fantastic time doing it!! 

🌲 @hellofromthehallowoods (179) WE ARE SO BACK BABEY. What an absolute FEAST of voice acting talent in this ep!! I was so excited to hear so many voices I recognised. Don’t get me wrong, jus because I love their VAs, it does not mean that I would trust any of these Indescribables as far as I could throw them… I saw a very interesting reference to the riddle posed to Penny and Friday on Tumblr! What do you MEAN ‘The watcher will bring it’??? Also, my goodness, Nik, the minute I heard Noptilnopt’s voice . . . you are in hugeeee trouble. Like, big, big trouble with that heart of yours…. 

🦋 @remnantspod (27) OH!!!! Oh my god!!!! Okay, but that makes so much sense!!! My heart immediately broke for little Ted with his fear and his scars ☹️☹️ It’s very interesting to me that Stephen Grenville appears to have killed Pauline at the end there. IIRC the last Stephen Grenville murder was the poker player? I thought that was the Apprentice posing as SG?? Man, I really need to just relisten to the whole thing to untangle all these red strings!!!

🧋 @hinaypod (35 & 35.1) Gosh, I feel like I learned so much Elder Lore in this episode!! I’m trying to tie all this back to the DJ In The Dark ep about the Williams Crypt but I might need to relisten to make it click! All I know is that I would give my life for Pocket and I think that’s a normal reaction. There’s still so much mystery surrounding J’s disappearance. Hearing how hard Dooley looked for him makes me SO SAD. 

🗺 @tales-from-the-low-city (15) This episode dealt with the chilling aftermath of the discovery regarding the air supply. I found the part about particular residents feeling guilty for even breathing really interesting. I can’t draw direct comparisons, but there are definitely elements of life (particularly in the UK) that so clearly are a result of the abuse of others and it’s hard to fathom what to do about that as an individual. The ending of the episode leaves more questions than answers, but I’m so invested in finding out what will happen next for The Low City!! 

🍾 @ameliapodcast (48) Oooh, it was so good to hear more about Jackie! As someone who also had a failed attempt at running away from home as a kid, this story really struck a chord!! (My parents did not put a tag on me, I just figured that hypothermia wasn’t the way I wanted to die). I can really feel some kind of redemption arc coming on for our CIA ladies and I’m here for it. 

💍 @forgedbondspod (7) Aw! They’re making friends! This Aphrodite/Ares pact about falling in love SURELY won’t be relevant any time soon . . . Surely. I’m really excited to hear from Apollo solely because I love hearing Leon in things hehe. 

🔮 @spiritboxradio (1.1-1.4) I’ve had such a fun time listening to these first few eps of SBR. Sam is endlessly endearing and I love the augury reports in particular! They remind me of a WTNV horoscope in a really good way! What a charming start to what I’m sure will become a firm fave!!

How to Bite Your Neighbor and Win a Wager by D.N. Bryn is such a cute slow-burn romance. It's dual POV, so you get full pining from both characters. Even though this is classified as friends-to-lovers, I'd fully call it idiots-to-lovers because both Vincent and Wesley are big dumb idiots (no spoilers, but I mean that in the most loving way possible). I loved seeing them play video games together. It was a way for Vincent and Wes to get to know each other with a semi low stakes activity. And a vampire dating sim? Even better!!

I still need to get my hands on How to Sell Your Blood and Fall in Love, but I'm excited to know that @rainbowcratebookbox will be doing an edition of it!
