this is rp which is why it's fine for dark and dai to be wrong sometimes. at the core of their character they're always advocates of change; exaggerate this and you have their reasons for often being either manipulated into or willingly siding with specific factions or muses who may have malicious motives towards the world. it's taking to the fractsidus in wuwa or hashing out ideals with someone like volo in pokemon despite dark and dai themselves sharing hopeful, generally positive and selfless mindsets. they want everyone to be happy; they want to help, but if they go about it incorrectly then even their good intentions turn them into the false-savior, luceferian villain. it doesn't help that daisuke is very naive (and on another note, stubborn and loyal,) and can therefore be easily led about; dark (as the mistrustful skeptic) isn't completely blind to the typical fanaticism of the average 'change the world' type personality either, but he still typically behaves well enough and only remains touchy and guarded over having very clear agreements between himself, daisuke, and whoever he's with. neither dark nor daisuke mind serving a purpose or simply being a tool and bargain to certain character types for the sake of a greater desire, but it absolutely cannot be outside of their own terms, or they'll rebel and riot.

ok anyways gay ppl digression over. the point that i was thinking about is that within the fairytale narrative that DN best operates off of, dark as an evil witch/wicked queen or stepsis figure (the curse, the antagonist, and the "dragon" of daisuke's life) cannot ever realistically dream of being accepted or admired as a 'princess.' the princess is pure and righteous-hearted; the princess is brave and innocent, the princess is doted on and beloved by a loving family and friends and fairy godmothers alike. they aren't alone in the metaphorical darkness to brood by themselves like dark himself is. but dark 'recognizes' himself as filth, morally. he recognizes his failings as someone generally apathetic and foul-tempered (re: his self-disparaging drama CD letter in which he says he has little to no good traits + sugisaki outright commenting that he believed he could NEVER match daisuke in kindness,) he too like daisuke wishes that he was different, and in doing so he longs for what he feels(!) that he fundamentally can't have. but this all should be broken by anyone who tries to (and is actually dead serious) about romancing (or even just accepting) him [and daisuke!!]

while it's sinday, i think now's a pretty good chance to say that i May send mutuals shippy / sexual ask prompts! it's not really a call for shipping (especially because childe's a bit? tricky for me to see compatible dynamics with), it's more of childe being the type of person to mess around & have flings.

To clarify a question that is not asked but is necessary to answer: if you are a Doctor rper, unless I can tell off vibes on your blog you ship doctorriver/you state it/we talk and it's clear that you're cool with writing it, I treat River's marriage with anyone's Doctor as queerplatonic. (I will not erase her love for the doctor from her character as that is a part of her and her development as a person. And no, I'm not basing her whole person as someone who loves the doctor, I'm saying that the love she has for them and whatever form of love they've had for her helped break the programming Kovarian put her through.)

Akin to Susan, who views the Doctor as grandfather regardless of regeneration, River views the Doctor as her spouse in every and any regeneration, even when she keeps it to herself.

I do touch on her trauma and how that effects her as a person and influences the things she does a bit more often than canon does.

River has great respect for the Doctor's companions/loves that come before and after her. This includes Rose.Tyler, Jamie.Mccrimmon, Donna.Noble, Clara.Oswald, etc. She also has a section in her diary where she keeps information that the Doctor has shared about any of them.

She keeps in touch with her DNA-engineered siblings: Brooke, H2, and O.

I acknowledge that she is adoptive mother to Kamen Vers (although complicated situation there), Charlotte Lux, and mother-figure to Joshua and Ella Noble (in the data-library).
