Is there a better thing than being able to combine two fandoms you love? While I worked on this, the band Ghost released their new album ‘Skeletá‘ and I think the song Guiding Lights fits Sir and Apprentice very well (Excelsis too).

My goal with this piece was to include all the remnants that have been processed so far, with the moths and the torn out pages being parts of Sir and Apprentice respectively. Although it took me ages finishing this, I had fun in doing so. I hope you like it (:

Serious review time:

Remnants: An audio drama, is absolitely one of my favourite pieces of storytelling in years.

It touches on grief, loneliness, identity and human nature in such tender and beautiful ways. Listening to it feels like walking through a place you love, touching the cracks in the walls and remebering.

The first season just wrapped up and you should absolutely listen to it.

We are indeed things that love, that decide, know, and remember, and this captures it so perfectly.

You will find me lying on the floor till the next season.

My Random Remnants HC

These are just my headcanons so if you dont like them ok, they are not fact this is just how I feel, if you do agree let me know bc more people need to talk about this podcast its like really good

Apprentice HCs

He has glasses, like the thick brown, black or even clear frames

He has FRECKLES

His eyes go white when be reads the remnants and its very noticeable because he has brown eyes😌 (or green he just has that vibe about him)

He is either like 5'6 orr 6'2 no in-between.

Definitely brings his notebook to work to hopefully understand his job

Has a list of questions to ask Sir but Sir is never around to answer his questions

After the first day he got a therapist, and then had to get a new one bc he was to honest about his job

Brings lunch from home

Is trying to make a checklist of things so he can categorize the remnants, its not helpful

Actually really wants to be good at his job to impress Sir but dosent know why

This is a man like in his 50 looking but we know he's like 1500+ at least

Beard, but not a Dumbledore situation, no, more shape and not so long

Wears the all black robe

If he has a physical form that has legs he dosent walk he glides

Is like 6'4 - 6'6 but hunches over so he looks shorter

Watches the Apprentice when he gets the chance not in a creepy way

Makes sure the Apprentice eats, cant have him read and decide on an empty stomach

Runs in-canon with The Ma.gnus Protocol series. Working at the OIAR and now very much aware of the reality of her situation regarding the supernatural, Gwen stubbornly fights through her own distress and fear to find out what exactly is going on. It’s just a shame every creature she meets seems to be intent, in some way, on marking her.

Takes place in the universe of The Ma.gnus Archives. While not working in the Archives itself, Gwen is part of the Institute, working in the OIAR (a branch within) and trying to figure out just what happened to her as a child. Marked by The Lonely and The Corruption, Gwen travels all across the world, trying to track down accounts of people with similar experiences to her, in the hopes of finally getting answers to her past and present.

Depends on who I’m writing with – Gwen is simultaneously the victim, the villain, the final girl, and the first to die. Her strange childhood experiences lead her to seek out the paranormal and dangerous… When she’s not working overtime at her shitty office job, that is.

It's early on in her childhood that Gwen has a run in with the Fazbear franchise. Indeed, she blames the whole place for her younger brother Elias going missing: not that she's ever told anyone that. Convinced something strange is going on inside, she moves to America from England when she's old enough, and gets a job working for the franchise not long after. Secretly trying to figure out what happened to her brother, Gwen also becomes determined to rise in the ranks - and eager to understand just what exactly is so strange about the Fazbear world. Can take place in any of the F.NAF games!

Gwendolyn Bouchard is the Head of the Magnus Institute, who, in this verse, is completely unaffected by Jonah Ma.gnus. Determined to keep herself and those she likes at the head of the oncoming apocalypse, she acts very much the same as Elias in the original series; with a few major twists and a terror she refuses to let on to anyone.

This is going to take me ages, I just know it. Might redesign the Apprentice. Sir and the Apprentice‘s looks are so fluid in my head, they are hard to put down. At least Sir seems to be a ever changing being so that’s a great excuse to draw him differently everytime.

Also, something something about leather pocket book > Edward Pocket > Edwin‘s first persona/page > the Apprentice seeing himself as torn out pages.

Okay, I was not expecting so many likes to this silly post, but it made me want to draw it, so here we are.

They are terrible at cosplaying!

I usually draw A. way older, but he was looking so cute I had to keep it!

A part of me really wants to draw the Apprentice and Sir like Arthur and John. I can't explain but the vibe is there!

Listen, I'm just saying, Ajax was a trap for Skirk. Idc what canon says: This random child falls into the Abyss and just happens to be found by Skirk. Skirk? AT RANDOM? SKIRK!?

Who has successfully distanced herself from all of Teyvat and made herself utterly forgettable in passing? Who is okay being alone (because she has to be with the constant threat of Surtalogi hanging over her. The less she values, the less he can take from her, the less she can lose again).

Skirk? Who has probably despaired before? She climbs that unending mountain with such determination now, but has that always been the case??

So, let's say for a moment that Skirk was losing hope. Maybe not completely, but stalling... how would she beat him? She wasn't progressing as fast, wasn't pushing forward as far. It's an incredible challenge that she cannot face now. Maybe ever. Does she even want to?

And we know Sutralogi is massively powerful with capabilities we're not fully aware of. All we know for certain is that this guy wants to fight his disciple at her full strength, and what better way to ensure that than to hand her something she cannot look away from.

A chance to do better than he did. So he gives her a disciple; an opportunity to put her dream of kindness to the test. A reason to be afraid.

I think Surtalogi's still watching. More than keeping tabs, he's setting the stage. He dropped Ajax in Skirk's lap because the fight would be nothing without stakes, and his apprentice was too good at detachment (he made it so, but he knows how to break it).

He gave her a reason to fight. More than that, a reason to win. Because it's easy to lose when it's just you on the line. With Ajax on it, it's not an option for Skirk.

Now she climbs the mountain with a renewed fervor. It doesn't matter what she wants. It doesn't matter if it's possible. She is going to beat him. She is going to win.

Because she cannot be the reason Childe dies.

And maybe she knows it's always been a trap - a way to push her forward. Maybe that's why she tries to keep him at arm's length. Call it denial, call it whatever you want, but she looked at this kid who had the remnants of her master's handiwork all over him, and chose to take him in anyway.

Maybe she needed a reason to keep going. Maybe she was just unable to look away. Maybe she just wanted to be the light in the world for one person. One person...

And now she has to win. She has to win. It's not an option.

Spikefur! He is a new apprentice in Bramblestar's Storm, and is Pinenose's mate by A Vision of Shadows. Despite being a young father he acts like a senior warrior and teams up with Scorchfur in the undemining of Shadowclan leadership. He is the second voice in deposing Rowanstar and takes a strong stance in favor of Darktail. He is portrayed as a very protective mate to Pinenose, who loves to see him, but is pretty dismissive to most of his kits, with the exception of Puddleshine, who he leverages their kinship to keep the medicine cat with the rest of Shadowclan and the Kin instead of leaving with Rowanstar. Spikefur remains with the kin until darktail is deposed and killed, and is reported to have left with the remnants of the kin. It is later revealed through Yarrowleaf and Sleekfur that the tom got sick and died because the remnants of the rogue group refused to gather herbs or care for him.

His head tufts are based on these cats, which may be explainable as cryptic chimeras, or as another unique genetic phenomena:

Settlement: Felstar's Faltering, A village overshadowed.

The wizard Felstar was a mighty mage, with a vast army at his command, pride beyond imagining, and power enough to strike fear into the hearts of all. That was before a questing hero happened by , handed the wizard his ass, and for good measure brought his towering spire crashing down to earth. In the centuries since, the remnants of the wizard's servants and soldiers have built a village for themselves in the ruins of their master's fortress, transforming it from arcane edifice to orcish clanhold

The folk of Faltering tend to keep to themselves, as many have not forgiven them for their forebear's actions under the wizard's command, despite the fact most of those same forebears allied with the hero to oust the mage that had enslaved them.

Still, if you're looking for a haven in the wilderness, or perhaps a chance to scavenge through old Felstar's secrets, there's no better destination.

Adventure Hooks:

Somewhat of an outcast among her people, the mage Zharga Zagrinnsdotter has dedicated herself to reclaiming as much of the dead mage's research as possible, piecing over ruins and exploring the sites of power Felstar established throughout the region. Though many suspect her motives, she follows the teachings of the sage-god Boccob and seeks to understand the wizard's magic so that her people will never be subjugated by it again. She's a good ally to have if the party need an expert on the arcane, and she's willing to pay them for an escort through the more dangerous ruins in the region. She may even take one of them as her apprentice, if they can put up with a belligerent old woman half way on her way to being a mad hermit.

Tensions are running high when one of the village's traders disappears while travelling in nearby human lands, with some fearing that he's been murdered by those who hold to the old grudges. The village elders are split between petitioning the local authorities (which may come to nothing) or sending out their own to investigate ( which may exacerbate tensions). The party provides a convenient third option, able to move unhindered while tracking the merchant's trail. An investigation will win them Faltering's favour, and take them to the market of the local human capital where furs from the forest around the village and old arcane relics are being sold by a number of shady dealers.

I hope you don’t mind the ask! I just listened to the first episode of Remnants and as your a fellow Luca (Ghost Wax) fan I wanted to say Luca and the apprentice would be friends that is all. And I really have no explanation for this other than I want them the befriend each other lol
