WORLD CLASS HERO
Phantom is a world class hero that is often associated with the Justice League. Though he never officially joins them, Phantom is known enough that people will always treat him kindly.
His first major appearance is when a big tsunami about to hit Japan. All the other heroes can do is evacuate the civilian as they try their best to stop the tsunami. When all hope is lost, a figure with white hair and black and white jumpsuit appears out of thin air and releases an ice beam out of his hand. It takes less than a second for the tsunami that the whole Justice League struggles to stop to freeze and stop right then and there.
He doesn't stop there nor does someone get a picture of him as all his pictures are blurry at best. The only evidence that he is there is the eyewitness and the frozen tsunami that seems to melt slowly over time. After that, he is often seen in multiple parts of the world, mainly where there are no heroes based there. From the middle east, to south east Asian, all around the world he can be spotted stopping crimes and helping people.
It is not a whole year later that the Justice League finally got in contact with Phantom when a major attack by Darkseid almost killed all the heroes. Millions of his army swarm the earth from multiple portals around the world killing and slaughtering people left and right. It is also that night that the people figure out that so far they have only seen a fraction of Phantom's power.
A screech boom towards the whole world. To people of earth, it sounds like a cry of pain and despair, of sadness and suffering, sounds of their loved one asking for help but to Darkseid and his army it sounds like war cry, like deep anger and fury, like the cry of a warrior promising revenge. The results of the cry leave the people of Earth sobbing while simultaneously knocking down all of Darkseid's army.
Just as everyone thought it was over, hundreds of thousands of eldritch beings summoned from a giant green portal appear out of thin air. From the front a girl and a man leads the army.
The girl raises her hand and shouts "By the order of King Phantom, eliminates all the enemies." Multiple screeches and roars sound at the same time and those beings rush towards the Earth, slaughtering the unconscious parademons without hesitation. The Earth general population lets out a sigh of relief that it is not them that is the target and some sharp ones catch on the fact they receive order from someone named Phantom. Is it the same Phantom they know? That is later to be figured out.
At the same time the Justice League are watching as Phantom brawling against Darkseid and the man and the girl that came out of the portal fight against Darkseid's elites.
As time passes, lesser and lesser parademons are left on earth with all of them being dragged back into the green portal. When all the parademons are taken away, Phantom and the man and girl forms suddenly change into something more eldritch in nature.
The girl now looks more windy with her form still humanoid but a lot less solid than before. Her ears are pointy with like an elf and whenever someone looks at her, they feel free and unrestrained.
The man in comparison looks a lot more domineering. His fiery white hair and red eyes along with his buff figure gives off an oppressive feeling to people around him.
Compared to the other 2, Phantom form seems almost nonexistent. In fact the only reason people know he is there is because of the cold breeze that accompanied his surroundings. But to people that truly observe him, they feel like it is hard to focus on him. Like space itself warps light to make it hard to see him. His icy crown and golden ring makes it hard for people to stare too long at him. For if you stare too long into the abyss, the abyss will stare back at you. That quote comes to mind when someone wishes to describe Phantom.
After they transform, the remaining battle ends as if Darkseid and his elites are merely children throwing a tantrum. When Darkseid and his army are dragged back into the green portal and with that, the whole world falls silent.
For the world, it is only a year later that Phantom returns as a hero and continues helping people. But for those in the knows, they know that in the year Phantom is gone, the other realms are thrown into chaos as one after another, tyrants and evil gods are either captured, imprisoned or straight up killed.
The Justice League first gains the news when Raven informed them that his father and his army had been slayed with his realm under new authority. Later Dr. Fate informed them that Klarion has been partially sealed. Batman also received news that League of Assassin has been disbanded after the whole league just disappears.
The JL tries to contact Phantom but no one can get in contact with him. Even after Phantom comes back, no one receives any explanation except not to worry.

Hashira men reaction to Reader slapping their ass
Hashira’s reaction to you slapping their ass.
Self-explanatory, isn’t it?
Pairing: Sanemi, Kyojuro, Tengen, Giyuu x gn!reader
Genre: Crack, fluff?
Length: short and sweet
Notes: Yes. I needed this lmao.
Sanemi Shinazugawa // Wind Hashira

He is angry, embarrassed, confused all at the same time while also yelling at you, because HOW dare YOU?
Sanemi is more upset at the fact that you managed to sneak up on him and how he trusted you to the point he was able to turn his back on you and expect nothing, and yet you broke that trust by slapping his ass, just like that.
His second reaction is embarrassment. Doing this in private is one thing, but in public? You better turn around and bend over because Sanemi has a foot to shove up a certain someone’s bottom.
And lastly, confusion. Why? Why him? Why here? Doesn’t this usually work the other way around? Isn’t Sanemi supposed to be do ing that to you? He wouldn’t do that in public though. Unlike somebody.
You and him will be having a serious conversation when you two get home.
—
Kyojuro Rengoku // Flame Hashira

His first instinct is to let out a small laugh before snapping his neck like an owl to look at who had done that. Once Kyojuro sees that it’s you, he chuckles a little more, but now more in confusion rather than in delight.
First, he thought you might be joking or playing around, trying to tease a reaction out of him, because what other reason could be there for you doing so intimate both so openly and randomly?
Kyojuro also thought about how you maybe want attention and have asked for it in a very up-front way. Perhaps you want to make love to him right now, right here…?
He ended up never asking why exactly you did it, instead blurting out some stutters of sentences while his face heats up. You could’ve sworn that his sweat turned into steam and were able to watch it rise into the sky.
Kyojuro ended up slapping your ass a week later out of nowhere, trying to get the message across that he is in the mood for some alone-adult-time. You ended up slapping him across his face.
—
Tengen Uzui // Sound Hashira

It’s not a rare back and forth between you two. Sometimes it’s Tengen’s turn to slap you on the ass, sometimes it’s your turn. It’s almost always a joke or a tease.
Emphasis on almost. Tengen’s slaps sometimes are a little more harsh than usual, making you yelp and slap him on the arm in return. He lives to annoy snd get a rise out of his partners, so slapping you twice as hard seems like the easiest way to do it.
After one too many slaps, you decided to retaliate and slap him back, but he barely flinches, that bastard.
Tengen, thanks to his training and excellent hearing, can anticipate your attack on his ass and clench the muscles at the right time, resulting your assault barely having any effect.
You, Suma, Makio and Hinatsuru ended up tackling and holding Tengen down while everyone got their fair turn to kick his cheeks for revenge.
—
Giyuu Tomioka // Water Hashira

Shocked, flabbergasted, embarrassed, baffled. Giyuu’s face ran blank and colour drained from his face the second your hand met his bottom. You watched him literally turn into stone, not even confronting you for your action.
What is the appropriate response to getting their ass slapped out of nowhere? Giyuu is torn between asking what is wrong with you and crying about it. Instead, he turned to you and simply stared at you. Nothing came out of his mouth.
Confused about the lack of reaction, you decide to ask him if he’s okay, but he doesn’t respond to that either, instead eyeing you up and down judgementally before walking off silently.
You learned to never do that again to him. You’re still not sure up to this day if Giyuu cried afterwards.

There all along - Choi Su-Bong/thanos x reader part 1/?

Summary: Losing someone who meant alot to you was hard, having to live with it for three years you finally went back to the games to try and get revenge, but a new guard refuses to leave you alone, resulting in you being sent home for the first time in game history.
Warnings: death, you purposely getting people killed, heavy heavy drug use
During the games it was safe to say that you and Thanos got very very close, much to Nam-gyu's disliking. Thanos liked you though, you stubborn, rude, and rough, but whenever you grabbed his hand shaking like a leaf scared, you were so gentle, like you didn't even know how to hurt somebody if you tried. He got the sudden urge to protect you the moment you held onto his jacket for the first time in red light greenlight, it wasn't like you meant to, you went to hide behind him and before you knew it your hands were clenching his jacket.
You didn't mind it though, Thanos was an asshole, but he was always protective over you, only ever spitting off embarrassing raps that he'd come up with on the spot about your looks. As you walked back in from mingle you held onto Su-bong's arm, he just held your hand that held onto him walking towards their little area they claimed, cheering and chanting something about one more game. As Thanos sat down he pulled you down with him, helping you down a step lower to sit in between his legs, using his thighs and hips as a back rest "So, We got one more game, then we're gonna go right?" Nam-Gyu asked, shooting you a harsh glare "I dunno Nam-su, I think we could do two more?" You snapped in a smartass tone purposely getting his name wrong as you looked at your boyfriend smiling "We can play as many as you like, as long as you like, baby" He smirked holding your chin in between his fingers, you melted in his touch, his blue eyes staring into yours like he could see every thought in your brain "It's Nam-gyu, bitch" he snapped, you just rolled your eyes, grunting as Thanos suddenly raised his arms in the air "Stop it!, don't call her that, y/n leave him alone" He stated, shooting you a stern look.
Whenever they all left for the bathroom you laid down, thinking nothing of it, until the piggy bank lowered and started to fill, the loud speaker listing off players that were eliminated. What the fuck happened in there? You started to think before your heart dropped "Player 230 eliminated" Echoed in your brain as the doors opened and everybody started to walk in, your eyes immediately fell on Nam-gyu holding Thanos's pill necklace in his hands that were covered in blood. You jumped up rushing down, Nam-gyu immediately taking notice to the fiery glare in your eyes "What did you do!?" You screamed, swinging your fist, it connecting right where his jaw curved, sending him to the ground "T-The X's just started attacking us!" He shouted being looking up pointing at the guy who Thanos first got into a fight with whenever you first arrived "H-he's the one who did it!" He shouted, not wanting to die at the hands of a grieving psycho, you stood up, freezing as a guard shoved a gun into your back, stopping you from attacking the player "We ask that you all compose yourselves, as the voting process will start tomorrow first thing, please use this time to think over your futures" The guard shouted, you just kept your glare set on player 333, you were going to for sure kill him the first chance you got. As soon as the gaurd left you, you leaned down snatching your boyfriend's necklace from his stupid friend making your way back to the bunks, crawling into his bunk laying down.
Thanos woke up with a gasp, feeling at his throat and jaw, wincing as he felt stitching thread sitting inside of his skin holding it closed "Player 230, you have been eliminated, but we are offering you a chance to still earn money, if you are willing to accept we shall allow you to become part of our staff of guards for the games, if you choose to decline, we will eliminate you from the games" The guard spoke.
Whenever you walked into the address Thanos had left you with, you were greeted by a fluffy dog, a note sitting on the counter of the kitchen
'Su-bong! Congrats on the game show! So glad you're back home, we took care of your baby for you!'
Su-bong, it was a pretty name, you weren't sure why he chose Thanos instead of that, you explored the house further, getting a new sense of who your boyfriend was beyond the games. You would continue on for three years, growing close with Thanos's previous friends and neighbor, as you were lying on the couch one night, you heard soft scratching at your door, slowly walking over and opening it, you spotted a small black and pink envelope, you felt like it was a dream, or like it was some sick joke, as you opened the card you saw the familiar shapes and numbers. You felt sick, but deep down, you had a drive, a drive to revenge Thanos in the only way you knew how to. Hearing the phone trill and the deep voice ask for your name and date of birth, repeating the information back you looked at your baby "Don't worry, your daddy would want me to do this"
Oh were you so wrong, as soon as Su-bong got information back that y/n l/n was becoming a player again, he was fuming, why the hell would you come back? What was your reasoning? God he wanted to kill you for being so stupid.
Waking up in the large room again was startling, you didn't even go to a pick up spot, you literally just fell asleep at home, now you were back? Slowly walking to the center of the room with everybody, you took notice to the different things they had added and taken away, and how quickly they rushed you to the first game. Walking into redlight greenlight you held the cross necklace tightly in your hand, yelping whenever a guard yanked you back behind one of the large green doors that were propped open "What are you doing back, y- Player 243" The guard said, and for a minute, you could swear you knew his voice, but you quickly shook it off. "Just like everybody else, trying to win money" You snapped shoving past the circle guard, not being able to shake him whispering 'still just as rough' like he knew you. After being through the games once before it made the game relatively easy, but slightly boring aswell. You opened the cross locket, new fresh pills sitting neatly inside, you never said you were clean, you had picked up the habit about three days after getting home, emptying out the remainder of his stash within a week. As you set the pill on your tongue locking the necklace back you waited for it to kick in, not ignoring the guard slowly making his way to the other end of the field.
The pill hit you faster than expected, leaving you a smiling mess skipping around the field as people panicked, having the same realization you did the first time you ever played, but you didn't care though, you jumped and skipped towards the end, purposely bumping into people as you went by causing their eliminations. As you leaped across the safety point you cheered, flipping the doll off before a hand grabbed you dragging you off through a doorway hidden within the wallpaper. You looked around, this area was different than the rest, dark blue and purple walls with no doors, just stairs "Are you high right now?" The guard asked, the way his hands grabbed you relaxed you rather than scared you, you couldn't place why though, you tried to break free of his grasp, but he just tightened his hold "l-let go y-you're hurting me" You whispered trying to break free, the walls opened up as the players funneled in to go back to the room, an older man coming over "Excuse me, but I believe she asked you to let her go" He demanded, the guard dropped his hold, you immediately clung to the man holding onto his jacket tightly as you both walked back to the room. You spent dinner time getting to know player 213, who ended up being a younger guy who was fucked over in the same way your late boyfriend was.
When lights out came, you tried to make your way back, but three guards stopped you, rising their guns and escorting you out, your hands shook violently, this was new, maybe they were onto you? You were stopped in a large room, a giant screen showing the field for redlight greenlight "Player 243, you're causing quite the distraction for one of my guards" A man in a black mask and long coat said approaching you "I-I don't even know any guards! He is causing a distraction for me!" You argued, trying to hide your body shaking to the point it could be mistaken as a seizure, you weren't sure if you were going to die or not, you had a puppy had home to care for, you couldn't die. "So we're willing to offer you a deal. go home. Don't come back, and don't try to either" He said, you tilted your head "How does that benefit me in any way?" You asked, attitude lacing your tone with a hint of annoyance "Just take the deal, y/n, it's safer" You heard someone speak from a few feet behind you "Oh my god...you!? What is your fucking deal with me!? Who are you!?" You asked looking at the stupid O mask "You look so stupid just standing there!" You shouted starting to grow angry "Go ahead number 30" You heard the other masked guy say, and you watched as the guard pulled his mask off, the black underhood covering everything that a few strands of hair and bright blue eyes, and for a moment you had to remind yourself, Su-bong was dead.
Watching him pull off the underhood your breath got stuck in your throat, his overgrown purple hair was laying in every different direction, being slightly shorter than him allowed you to see the scar underneath his jaw. "S-Su-b-" You started but he shot you a harsh glare, you felt your hands start to shake, your mind starting to spiral, god damn did you need a high right now, and a damn good one at that. "30" He replied harshly, this was a different Su-bong than you knew, you barely recognized this version. "I thought you died" You whispered, feeling yourself lose your voice "I'll explain later, just take the deal, leave. go. don't come back" He said harshly, taking long strides to stand in front of you staring you down "O-Ok, If you want me to go" You whispered, looking back towards the man in the black mask who just nodded. Su-bong put his mask back on as he walked you out towards a dock inside of a cave somewhere within the building you had played the games in. You stayed silent, occasionally looking at him, studying his face, almost four years of not seeing him, of thinking he had died, and yet he was here. As he walked ahead slightly to scan his mask you took the opportunity to pop another pill into your mouth, ingesting it quickly right as his head turned around to stare at you, somehow even without being able to see his face you could feel his glare on you.
You stepped on the boat watching as Su-bong stood back as another person held a cloth to your face, you didn't fight it off, his words repeating in your head 'Ill explain later' Was he coming back? Waking back up in your actual bed was relieving, but you had a need deepness in your chest, Thanos was still out there..and he left you. You laid in bed for what felt like months, trying desperately to find a way back to the island to find Su-bong while being high out of your mind, until one night. It was maybe three or four am, you were wide awake, music blaring in your headphones while looking at the paperwork you had out in front of you, a rolled joint in one hand, a pill in the other. Popping the pill in your mouth you groaned, none of these papers made sense at all, and you could've sworn you heard the lock to the door try to click three different times in the last minute, thats whenever you did hear it click, you quickly walked over holding the door shut, not wanting whoever was trying to break in, in. "So help me.." You heard a frustrated and exhausted voice mutter before you were knocked off of your feet.

[I swear I'm not biased. Also, skip this post if your criteria for a good story include happy and just endings.]
What made Arcane S1 a masterpiece was the Tragedy, and Vi's central place in it. She doesn't interact much with the magic plot, but she's right in the middle of both the sociological storytelling and several individual character arcs, and they're all pulling her apart. And that's what makes it all so compelling.
Vi accidentally or unwillingly becomes the catalyst for the collisions of Piltover vs Zaun, Vander vs Silco, and Powder vs Jinx. And she's torn between Vander's pacifism/defeatism and Zaun's rebelliousness, her hostility to Enforcers and her growing affection for Caitlyn, her hate for Silco and her love for Powder*, avenging the dead and protecting the living**, Caitlyn's vision of charity from above and Ekko's accomplishment of autonomy from below, saving Caitlyn and saving Powder (both from Jinx!), love and loyalty, guilt and revenge, topside and undercity.
There's a maelstrom of opposing forces and ideas, and all Vi wants to do is stand in front of her people and take the hit for them, raising her fists and blocking with her face like she always does. But who ARE her people, even? She's in the centre and she cannot hold: she's getting drawn and quartered by the actual themes of the story.
Like a true Tragic Hero™ (i.e. protagonist, heroism is irrelevant), she always chooses wrong. Not necessarily in the moral sense (though sometimes that too), but through a combination of tragic irony™ (when the character is unaware of a crucial piece of information) and coincidence: whatever she ends up doing, tragedy ensues. And it makes for a great story! Tragedy is a FANTASTIC medium if you do it right! And Season 1 did it perfectly.
But more to the point, it isn't about fatal character traits or random coincidences, it embodies all the social conflicts laid out in the story. All around Vi, the sociological storytelling converges with the psychological, and they both say the exact same thing: apply pressure to a society long enough, and the walls WILL come tumbling down. So the result is classic tragedy: any different choice could have prevented it, and yet it was inevitable. But the angle is specific: it's not the gods who are cruel and fickle. It's not our nature that's inescapable. It's not Fate that's implacable. It's History.
Season 2 didn't stand a chance in hell to be worthy of Season 1, unless League lore and all promotional goals were aggressively ignored. About half of it was worthy, I think, continuing seamlessly the earlier themes. But then the sociological storytelling was dropped from the forefront and eventually from view, Vi lost both her central place in the story and her internal conflict, and got a corny happy ending, there was SO MUCH flinching, and even the tragedy of Jinx's self-sacrifice was taken back (wink wink, she's alive).
I have many issues with Season 2 (and a lot of praise: parts of it were excellent, and the animation remained incredible throughout), but the main reasons it can't possibly compare to Season 1 is that in the end there wasn't enough Vi, and there wasn't enough tragedy.
Respectful hat tip to Ekko for filling in.
* Vi actually prioritises "bringing his bullshit empire down" over saving her sister from Silco, and voluntarily offers the name "Jinx" to the Council just to convince them to attack him.
** applies both to teen Vi choosing to surrender to the Enforcers, so that the Lanes won't fight and no one will get hurt (except her), and adult Vi putting her vendetta against Silco above everything: she gets Jayce to bring armed enforcers and Hextech weapons down to the undercity, and stands over the entirely predictable outcome of a dead child. Some of this obsession is fueled by hate for what Silco did to Vander and her siblings, but I think most of it is reflected guilt for what SHE did to Powder, which would never have happened if it weren't for Silco.

Thoughts on To Be Hero X Episode 7: Three Seats
What an episode XD
We finally got confirmation that Mr. Shang (I assume the English subs are getting his name wrong when calling him Mr. Shand) is indeed Shang Chao's father, which I'm guessing is part of why he falls in with some bad people later? Unless he's already in bed with them.
We also got confirmation that Rock is the head of Mighty Glory. Folks pointed out that he had the same voice actor as the MG boss back when Episode 5 aired. His motives are still kind of opaque, though I'm guessing he wanted a hero he could better control, and I assume boost higher in the hero rankings. Perhaps the previous E-Soul was doing as he wished too much, and not being as active as Rock wanted. It seems like Rock is going to control Yang Cheng a lot more.
I wonder if Rock's also been angry for a long time that E-Soul failed to save Yang Cheng's parents. He seems a bit more self-centered for that, but who knows?
Also shout-out to Enlighter coming back XD He's fun! I'm glad we get more of him.
I love the way this series creates really compelling motivation for different story lines. Yang Cheng holding back ever so slightly not because he just wasn't fast enough then, which is a big part of say, the Flash's storylines in lots of stories, but because of jealousy, and that leading to a toxic soup of guilt and revenge... It's fun writing. And so tragic. steIIarevue has a good breakdown of how this reflects in E-Soul's power and weakness.
I also see people already being weird about this, and as others have pointed out, it's okay that he's flawed. It's narratively interesting that he is flawed. This is his Peter Parker moment. Peter stood aside and did nothing when he could have made a difference, and tragedy struck as a result. Unfortunately for Yang Cheng, there doesn't seem to be any hope for redemption any time soon. He's standing up for what he believes is right, not realizing he's already walking a dark path. Or seemingly even embracing it - on the assumption it's necessary, so others don't fall due to his mistakes - out of guilt.
This is a minor thing that is more than likely me reading way too deeply into it, but when Yang Cheng and Xia Qing are sitting on the beach, they're surrounded by those giant man-made stone jacks in the sand, which are an example of hard stabilization (you can see more of them in the upper right corner).
It's a way people try to stop the shoreline/beach from eroding. Unfortunately, this kind of artificial anti-erosion measure often hastens erosion. It's kind of like brute forcing things. There are alternate methods, such as soft stabilization, which are meant to encourage the development of animal habitats, which better encourages the health of a beach, and typically using combined methods to fight erosion are better than anything else.
I think it's just scenery rather than a metaphor for what Yang Cheng is doing: going in for the kill, and leading to worse. Brute forcing his way in, and solving nothing, leaving a smaller beach that will shrink away with time, where no one can sit or stand. But it'd be neat if the inclusion was intentional in that way.
It's also really tragic that not only did Yang Cheng seemingly kill the wrong guy, but also they didn't speak to each other since Yang Cheng's parents were killed. At the mediation, Yang Cheng spoke with pink sweater secretary, not E-Soul. E-Soul specifically avoided confronting Yang Cheng, and didn't want to do the fight. The first time they faced other since Yang Cheng's childhood was in the ring, with their fists. And it ended in such a final way.
And E-Soul, who's had his battles, which were seemingly hard, had to end his career (and life) in a fight he didn't want to join in on, under a false accusation. He fought defensively, mostly. I don't think he wanted to kill Yang Cheng, up to the end, when he used his big attack. It's just really sad all around.
Also, what a way to kill those guys. Jeez. Drowning in cement is a horrifying way to go. But I'm glad for people who guessed the shooter was ponytail guy!
youtube
The fight was really wonderful! The 2D animation was great, the music was nice, and flashes between the fight, the concert, the reveal about Yang Cheng's guilt, and Rock's identity, were really well executed. I also really love characters who basically create shields and missiles from solid plates. It's always a fun power and looks really cool. I think Magneto's done it a bit, and it's got vague similarities to how Kuchiki Byakuya's abilities work. Also, electric whips are always so cool-looking (Jiang Cheng, my beloved).
The full version of Neon Rain by Hidefumi Kenmochi is up!
English and Chinese song lyrics:
And I want to listen to more of whatever Lucky Cyan was singing.
Xia Qing next to the two empty seats was so sad. And then the three of them empty was heartbreaking.
I feel so bad for Yang Cheng. Not only does he seem to have lost part of his arm now, but he also killed an innocent man, and is working for the guy who killed Shang Chao.
And I imagine Xia Qing isn't speaking to him, either. I wonder if he's so twisted up, he's easy for Rock to redirect to other assignments, like, say, assassinating Moon. If Yang Cheng ever finds out the truth... well, Rock better hope he's got back-ups to protect himself, I guess?
Overall, it was a great episode. Looking forward to Episode 8 and seeing how Lucky Cyan's arc is going to destroy us!

Traitors & Lovers (Hero & Villain) part 2
Warnings: intense agressive fight and then kidnapping, drugged villain, broken bones, unconsciousness
But her attacker was quick to recover, and managed to snag her jacket with a hand before she could run, roughly yanking her backwards and wrapping her in a chokehold with one arm.
Villain thrashed, angrily ramming both her elbows back hard to hit the vulnerable spot on her attacker's ribs. A calculated move to maximize pain and give her a change to break free.
And it worked like usual. The stranger recoiled with a sharp cry of pain, losing his grip on her and letting her slip away.
She jogged a safe distance away and turned to face her attacker, who was doubled over clutching his bruised ribs. A man, she realized, wearing a long black cloak.
She let out a delighted laugh. "Bit off more than you could chew coming after me, didn't you?" She taunted chipperly. Now that she was prepared and her opponent lost the element of surprise she knew she could easily fight him off -- the threat was gone. She could handle herself now.
"What, expecting an enemy that couldn't fight back?" She jeered playfully. "I'm a villain, darling, in case you weren't aware. And I bite." She bared her teeth mockingly at the man as he straightened, eyeing her with a hint of surprise.
Villain narrowed her eyes. "Now. I have questions for you. You will answer them, if you want to walk out of this alley alive." The teasing tone in her voice instantly dropped, going cold and serious. "Why did you attack?"
The man shrugged, grinning. "I do as I'm ordered," he answered simply.
"...Ordered?" Villain echoed, brow furrowing. Why would someone order for her to be attacked? She'd mostly stayed out of trouble ever since she left Hero to avoid drawing attention to herself. Was this man's employer someone with a personal grudge against her who had sent him to get revenge?
"Unfortunately for you, I'm not looking to die tonight," Villain chuckled, her playful smirk returning. "So I'm going to have to ask you to move on. You're lucky I don't cripple you for daring to come at me."
The man didn't seem phased by the threat she posed, and it made Villain anxious. Normally people would flee in terror at the sight of her because of how dangerous she was. If he wasn't scared, it meant he was either crazy, or he had a way to ensure his own safety Villain didn't know about. The latter of which worried her more. What was the stranger hiding...?
"Oh, I wasn't sent here to kill you," the man said. "I'm supposed to catch you alive. "
Villain's blood turned to ice, alarm bells going off everywhere. Her danger sense was tingling, making her skin itch. The primal instinct that told her she was in trouble and needed to find a way out right now.
She took a hesitant step back, then another, getting ready to run like her instincts were screaming at her to because there was clearly something she didn't know yet and she didn't like having those blind spots in her knowledge. She wasn't equipped to deal with this.
A blur of movement flashed in her peripheral vision, and she didn't have time to dodge when a fist suddenly came crashing into her jaw, sending her reeling.
Ah, so that's why the man hadn't been intimidated by her presence. Because he hadn't come alone.
Villain's reflexes kicked in, and she pivoted around to lash out at her second attacker, swinging a fist of her own that connected with a nose and resulted in a satisfying crunch followed by a scream.
"That's what you get for trying to take me on," she hissed, following up with a sharp throat punch. She'd actually been having a bit of fun earlier, playing with her enemy. But now she was just annoyed.
"When will people finally learn they can't outmatch me in a fight?" She rolled her eyes dramatically as she swung her leg into the side of the second man's knee to make it buckle and send him crashing to the ground. Her opponent fell with a cry, and Villain lifted her foot to smash her heel into his skull -- when someone grabbed her from behind, dragging her away from the downed enemy.
Villain spat fire and struggled against the strong grip caging her.
"Let go, idiot!" She snapped angrily. "You will regret this terribly if you don't release me right this ins -- mmph?!" Her words turned into a startled sound as a cloth was clamped over her mouth, muffling her voice. She felt a needle prick her neck, and true panic set in. Whoever had sent these men to catch her knew she was a fighter. And her attackers knew exactly what they were doing when they went after her. They knew she could hold her own in a fight, and that's why they'd gone for the advantage in numbers, knowing they couldn't technically out-fight her.
It was infuriating. Villain wasn't expecting to be captured. She was the kind of criminal who never got caught, so it was surprising that someone actually got the drop on her. Her skills must have been getting rusty from disuse.
Adrenaline flooded her senses, and genuine terror took hold when she felt her own body starting to fail her, her struggles weakening. What had they drugged her with???
Villain clawed desperately at the arms wrapped around her, instincts driving her to keep fighting, but her muscles were losing strength and functionality alarmingly fast, and darkness was encroaching on the edges of her vision.
In a last effort to deal more damage she tried to bite the hand through the cloth it was holding over her mouth, but the material was too thick for her to harm the flesh beyond it.
She slowly went limp, slumping against the person holding her from behind with a feeble groan, her head feeling heavier than it should be on her shoulders. She felt her attacker's grip loosen once it was clear she was unable to keep going, and he set her on the ground, letting the sedatives do the rest of the work.
Villain's eyes rolled sluggishly in her skull as she forced them to move and look at where the second attacker was picking himself up from the asphalt, nose badly broken and streaming blood as he wobbled on one leg, favoring the other.
"Dang, I guess she was right," he groaned as he limped over to her and the other enemy. "She does bite."
Villain grinned viciously at that, and she would have laughed in their faces if she was able to. But exhaustion was tugging at her limbs and dragging her down, down, and she couldn't resist anymore, letting consciousness slip away from her.
She'd lost and she knew it. But she hoped she had what it took to survive whatever came next.

Beyond the Merging of Then and Now (Sariel story)
Sariel's 4th anniversary story sale, where child Sariel is brought to the future to meet Emma and current Sariel
---
It wasn't unusual for Sariel's office to be full of tension as a result of all the political and bureaucratic affairs he had to tend to. But today, the room was filled with tension of a different sort.
Sariel: What is this charmless menace?
Young Sariel: What is this four-eyed old man?
Emma: Okay, so... You're both Sariel. Emma: An adult Sariel, and also, for some reason I don't understand, there's also a younger Sariel here.
(I was just going into town for an errand, how did this happen...)
--flashback--
Some hours ago...
(...Hm? Looks like there's some kind of ruckus up ahead. I wonder what's happening.)
Man: The hell are you doing, brat! You better watch yourself!
(A fight? And with such a young child?)
Man: You little bastard, looks like I need to teach you a lesson.
(Wait, he's not going to hit the boy is he? I have to save the--)
Child: .....you.
Man: ...!? Man: I-I'm sorry...
(He ran off... Something about this scene seems familiar... but now's not the time!) (Just who is that boy? He was able to send a grown man running just by whispering something.) (Wait, huh? That face...)
Emma: Sariel?
Child: ..?
(No, what am I saying. There's no way that's Sariel.) (But he really does resemble Sariel, and he's even also wearing gloves. The more I look at him, the more alike they seem.)
Child: You, what are you- Child: ...
(He left.) (I must have been mistaken just now. He can't be a little version of Sariel, there's just no way.)
--scene change, hallway--
(I keep thinking about that boy from earlier. What a mysterious kid.)
???: Don't turn around.
Emma: Wha?
(Who's behind me!?)
???: Head inside. Don't act suspicious.
--end flashback--
Emma: ...And so, that's what--
*whip sound*
Emma: Ack!
(What was that?)
Young Sariel: ...Tch. You're just a bureaucrat.
Sariel: And what does that make you, who can't even put a scratch on a lowly bureaucrat? Quite pathetic.
(Little Sariel tried to attack normal Sariel, but was warded off...?) (I couldn't see a thing.)
Sariel: Who ever would have thought that there would come a day when I would use this whip against "myself".
Emma: So he really is a child version of you.
Sariel: Indeed. Although I hate to admit it. Sariel: Because you knew his name, he likely tailed you in order to ascertain your true intentions. Sariel: And after finding out that you have some relation to the royal castle, he decided to infiltrate the castle. Sariel: At this point in time, I did have some interest in contacting the royal family. Sariel: At any rate, the question now is not who he is, but what to do with this vermin--
Official: Apologies for the interruption, sir, but I have something urgent I need to-- huh?
(Uh oh.)
Official: That boy is...?
Emma: Uh, no, you have it all wrong, he's--
Young Sariel: You look busy, father. You don't have to worry about me, you should just get back to work.
Emma: ......
Sariel: ......
Official: F-father...? So he's your...
Sariel: No. He is the child of a very, very, very distant relation. He is absolutely not my son.
(Oh, Sariel is not happy.)
Official: O-oh, I see. Ahaha...haha...
Sariel: If you have something urgent to discuss, let us speak in the hallway. But before that. Sariel: The next time you say something like that, brat, I will sew your mouth shut.
(And he's gone.)
Young Sariel: Hmph.
(Is he trying to get revenge on Sariel because his surprise attack failed?) (Maybe he does have a childish side after all. I didn't expect that.)
Emma: If you're hungry, would you like to have some sweets?
Young Sariel: I don't want them.
Emma: All right then, how about we read a book toge-- *sound of footsteps running* No, wait, wait!
*door opens*
(What do I do, do I chase after him... Hm?) (He's back.)
*door opens*
Young Sariel: Damn it... that damn 4 eyed bastard...
(I've seen Sariel kick people out of rooms before, but this might be the first time I've seen someone get kicked back in.)
Emma: Hey, come on, why don't we have something to eat together? What kind of sweets do you like?
Young Sariel: ...I don't like anything.
Emma: Then we'll have a bit of everything!
Sariel: ......
(That's quite the cold look from little Sariel.) (It looks like he's still wary around me, but I hope he'll slowly start to trust me more.)
--scene change, Sariel's room at night--
(...He hasn't taken a single bite.)
Young Sariel: ......
(He's been constantly looking for an opening to escape, but it looks like he's getting tired now.)
Sariel: Emma.
Emma: Y-yes?
Sariel: You should get some rest. I will keep watch over this vermin.
Emma: I can't do that. You should sleep too, Sariel. Emma: And you should too!
Young Sariel: ...
(He won't even look at me!)
Sariel: It's no use. The only thing a brat like this responds to is pain and discipline.
Young Sariel: You look like a proper pencil pusher but you still think of violence first. You think putting on a pair of glasses can change the kind of person you are deep down?
Sariel: What was that?
Young Sariel: You heard what I said.
Emma: Please don't fight with yourself, both of you!
(If I go to sleep with things the way they are, there is definitely going to be another incident...!)
*stomach growling*
(--Ah.)
Sariel: Emma?
Emma: I- I'm not... I mean, there was just so much happening today that I didn't get a chance to eat...
(Now that I've realized it, I'm just feeling hungrier and hungrier.) (It's already so late, but maybe just a little snack...)
Emma: Sorry, but can I have one of those?
Young Sariel: Do whatever you want.
Emma: Thank you. *munch*
(It's been a while since I had something sweet, it's so good... hm?) (When did little Sariel start eating too!)
Sariel: ...Strange. I didn't think you'd willingly eat something that someone else prepared.
Young Sariel: It doesn't seem poisoned. Young Sariel: ...Huh.
(Ah, looks like he likes that one.)
Emma: Is that one your favorite?
Young Sariel: Not really.
Emma: Hehe, you're free to take as much as you like if there's anything you like.
Young Sariel: ....Okay.
(He grabbed some more of the same kind. I guess that is his favorite.)
Sariel: Emma. Don't spoil him too much.
Emma: It's fine. He's you too, Sariel. Emma: Why don't you have some pastries too, big Sariel? There's some that aren't too sweet.
Sariel: I am not sure how I feel about being called 'big Sariel'... Sariel: However, I'll take you up on that offer. I'll have what you recommend.
Young Sariel: .....
Sariel: What?
Young Sariel: Nothing. Young Sariel: ...You look like you trust her a lot.
(He didn't want to eat anything because he was worried it would be poisoned...) (So that was something he had to be worried about even though he's this young.) (Maybe he only started eating because I ate one first, but maybe he can start opening up and trusting me some more now.)
Emma: Is it good?
Young Sariel: It's food. How it tastes doesn't matter.
(Ah, he looked over at me, just a little bit.) (I hope he can let himself relax, even if for just this moment.) (Both the young Sariel, and adult Sariel.) (Because both of them are my dear, precious Sariel...)

prompt: attack|day: 25|word count: 511|@rosekillermicrofic
tw: grief result of MCD, cop bashing
“You’re sure this is them?” Barty asks, eyes narrowing as he worries his bottom lip between his teeth and stares at the small cottage.
He never pictured Alice living in a place like this—quaint and perfect, with a little white picket fence and tulips in window boxes.
The Alice he knows wears all black, has a mullet, listens to metal, and had pierced her own nose fifth year.
This isn’t her.
They’re friends. Well… they were friends.
Before the war.
Before the Dark Mark on his forearm.
Before the argument that made her stop speaking to him.
Before she got married to that stupid bloody Hufflepuff and decided to become a cop like him.
Before Barty had saved her life by warning her about the plan to attack her house.
Before she helped kill Evan.
Before she killed him.
She killed him.
Barty was there. Evan had saved Frank’s life. He’d saved that bastard’s life and the Aurors had attacked him for it.
Five on one.
How is that fair?
Cruel and unusual is what it is.
Though, Barty guesses, not that unusual for a bunch of fucking cops.
He blinks and realizes Bellatrix must’ve responded and has led him and the others up through the garden. Frank and Alice have to know they’re here by now. There’s not enough time for them to flee. Are they hiding their small son? Is Alice saying goodbye to him? Frank will probably be standing at front of the door trying to protect her.
Alice doesn’t need his protection—she’s one of the most talented witches in Britain. It’s Frank that’ll need her protection.
Barty slams into Bellatrix’s back and curses as he rights himself using her hips, and she spins around to stare at him.
“The fuck, Black?” he spits, letting go as he glares at her. Why does she have to look so much like Regulus? He’s grieved enough over his best friend, why does she have to rub it in his face by existing?
“Are you prepared for this? I can’t deal with you seeing her and losing your nerve. I have enough going on here,” Bellatrix says, and it almost sounds like she actually cares.
“I’m fine. They’re going to pay for what they did to him,” Barty growls under his breath and makes to move around her but she places a hand on his shoulder and keeps him there.
“My point is that I need you to stay sane and not go taking your revenge out right away. You can’t just kill them. We need information, Crouch.”
Right. The Dark Lord. That’s what she cares about.
“Yeah, I fucking got it.” Barty’s glare turns murderous, and he pulls out of her grasp.
Fuck all of them. At this point, he doesn’t care. He doesn’t care what information they want. He doesn’t care that they want to bring the Dark Lord back. There’s nothing left for him.
All Barty wants is to be in Evan’s arms. But he doesn’t get that.
Instead, he’s going to burn the world down.

In what rabbit hole did I fall into, that everything is upside down now?
Helmut Marko defending Checo AGAIN! I mean... what? Twice already? And now Horner being the one speaking shit every day about Checo's performance, demanding results and saying that maybe his seat will be available for Yuki or Daniel?
I think Marko is playing a game where he does the opposite of Horner, and since now Horner seems to be enemy #1 to Checo, Marko is all... meh (can't say supportive or caring, because let's not exaggerate, but at least he's not attacking Checo and he's saying he'll bounce back from this losing streak).
So I see different outcomes from this (explained, just for fun, with memes) (and also, these are my deluded theories, not to be taken TOO seriously):
Outcome 1: Checo's car will miraculously work again and Checo will at least be in the top 5 the next race, and perhaps p3 or p2 the other one before summer break. This will be accompanied by the generic RBR speech of 'we knew he would do it' and 'we support him' while they kept playing mind games with Checo, his fans and his haters.
Outcome 2: Red Bull fires Checo with their bullshit clause or whatever, and decide to bring Sainz to the team; or Horner finally wins and let Ricciardo take that seat, or Yuki, or Liam, or Bird, or on a very incredibly plot twist, Horner himself takes the damn seat. This leaves with Checo looking for other teams and little window of opportunity to actually get any real options (now, let's remember that Ford's CEO loves Checo and wants him badly, so this outcome will be bloody).
Outcome 3: Checo actually ends his contract, tired of all this bullshit, and says:

Then, in another incredible plot twist, Toto Wolff actually hires Checo to spite Horner, because he keeps throwing to his face that the car is fucked, so he will get his revenge getting Checo to be Russell's minister of defense (maybe hubby Hamilton will also give the boss a good reference for Checo). And let's remember that Toto and Horner have this weird sexual tension, so when he gets Checo for 2025 (only that year, he will get Antonelli with more experience for 2026) he will be like this:

And if Toto doesn't fit into my theory because he's too stubborn, then maybe Audi will give Checo a seat, until Ford decides to buy his own team and hire Checo.
Outcome 4: Aaaaaan my last one... in a crafty game of chairs, Charles says 'screw this' and leaves Ferrari, goes to Red Bull with frenemy Max, and Checo goes to Ferrari to be hubby's teammate, Carlos goes to Mercedes, Daniel gets crushed by Yuki, Logan finally wins a Grand Prix (eagle sounds in the background), Pierre and Esteban get married and Valteri Bottas releases a new, nude, spicy calendar for 2025.
All right, here's my hot take from the rabbit hole, my homies, please let me know how crazy I am and if you have another outcome, my inbox and comments are your canvas.

You know how a trope in certain anime and manga is the protagonist dies but they suddenly travel back in time and get another chance at life? Imagine that but for attack on titan, and reader has to go through the four years of training as a cadet but with the knowledge that Reiner, Annie, and Bertholdt are titan shifters. How do you think that would play out?
My gut reaction was wanting to say that I/you/we would (or at least should) take the opportunity to wage slow, psychological warfare on them purely because it would be very very funny - like, ominous notes and drawings, or periodic pointed comments while making uncomfortable eye contact, or just going full Shawn Spencer - but I decided I should try to give a more serious answer.
I think it would depend on when reader died and what their feelings were for Reiner at that time, and on how much you know about the origin of Titans and the outside world.
Did you die pissed off at Reiner and wanting revenge? You could take shit into your own hands and try to kill them yourself. Annie would be a long shot, but you could look for chances. Break a piece of their ODM gear, slip something into their food, or, if you're in Crazy Person mode at this point, befriend Reiner again, progress to being lovers, and just shank him when his guard is down. Very revenge movie/slasher film. You uhh. Might get charged with murder and executed.
Do you just want to stop them at any cost for the sake of humanity? You could tip off Erwin. Sure, it'd be hard to explain in a way he or anyone else could believe, but even if they didn't take you seriously and investigate a little, it would click together the moment they discover that Eren can turn into a Titan at will. Assuming you died before learning the truth about titan inheritance, I imagine they would split RBA up and try to incapacitate them with the element of surprise without resorting to the ploy of drawing the Female Titan out by doing that entire expedition. That could go all kinds of ways, particularly when it comes to taking out Reiner and Annie, and attempting it inside Wall Rose or Sina would very likely result in massive casualties. If Reiner got the chance to use his titan form, I don't think he could be taken without the invention of the thunder spears.
But lets say the plan works, and the three are captured, their limbs cut off (repeatedly lmao). They would undoubtedly be executed, because there's no feasible way to keep them long enough for real interrogation, and the secrets of the outside world would die with them, but retaking Wall Maria would be a little easier. Of course then you're a lot more fucked when Eren unleashes the Rumbling. Whoops.
Or, did you die wishing you could save Reiner and his friends, too? That's the option I like better because I'm a sap, but it'd be even more messy and angsty. Relive falling in love with Reiner in a much more bittersweet way, and confront him at the time when none of the three can plausibly deny who they really are, by butting in when they're disarming Marco. Reiner would fliiip his shit, Annie would come straight at you to kill you, Marco would be like 'guys what's happening aaah I'm dying.'
I reckon Reiner would stop Annie even though he's having a class A freak out, because he can't fucking take losing you and he's already having a very stressful afternoon, and you could take a chance at really talking to them and learning why they're doing this, and maybe even try to convince them to let you help them avoid all out chaos. I've always liked the idea that under the right circumstances, Reiner and Bertholdt, and on a more slim chance Annie, could have been persuaded to defect from Marley and help Paradis make a massively unexpected counterattack on the Marleyans, especially if part of the deal involved safely extracting their families from Liberio first, and take the entire series in a much different direction.
...I guess you should also save Marco while you're there lmfao

FSM during march of the oni, how they feelin'?
Eeeeeee I'm so glad you asked because the thoughts I have had about this.
First of all some (potentially unnecessary) background info.
1. So Mystake is one of The Oni Warlords. This is canon. What isn’t canon is which one. While I haven’t fully decided on which one she’s going to be I’m leaning towards Venge because of a whole backstory and character arc that I haven’t written yet. But it’s not overly important right now.
2. Mystake and the Fsm have a parent-child relationship in this au. Mystake is also one of the people he learnt to fight properly from.
3. In this au the Oni Warlords are gods. But unlike Fsm, who simply can't die, they can be killed. However their deaths aren't permanent, and they always find a way to return, whether its by healing their own bodies, or by simply constructing new ones. Though depending on who kills them it might take longer to come back.
4. Because Mystake is a Warlord herself, it the other two they took around a thousand [the time may change] or so years for them to come back after she killed them. As a result, there was enough time between the Warlords leaving to chase the Fsm across The Sixteen Realms, and all three returning to the First Realm, that The Omega had time to rise to power. However, they were no where near as as powerful or beloved as the three Warlords were, so it didn't take long for them to be overthrown again, and The Warlords restored to power. The Warlords, along with the Fsm, ended the war between the Dragon and the Oni.
But The Omega had already gained a following of Oni who either did not want the war to end, or were outraged at The Omega being overthrown. So they bided their time, waiting for the perfect moment to get revenge on The warlords beloved half-breed. This revenge, of course, involved invading Ninjago. The reason there is such a large gap in-between the ending of the war [while I haven't got an exact timeline yet, I'm thinking it ended a few thousand years before Garmadon was born] is because they were waiting for a) the Fsm to be out of Ninjago and/or distracted (the Overlord's return fits this category nicely) and b) for a natural pathway to open between the First Realm and Ninjago (like the one in the Wailing Alps.)
5. Garmadon never died, and Mystake never died either (not that is would have been permanent if she had).
6. Wu and Garmadon lost their powers when Garmadon got banished to the underworld (this is also what caused the rapid aging). Since the Overlord's second defeat, they've slowly been coming back. But during March of the Oni they are on the same power level as a regular elemental master, otherwise the probably could've have taken out The Omega's army themselves.
So as of March of the Oni, the ninja are all fully aware of both Fsm being alive, and Mystake being an Oni Warlord. However, when the Oni attack, both of them are taking a vacation in another realm, so Ninjago City is still covered in darkness.
At this point Wu and Garmadon have switched to their true forms but with their powers being weakened, it only helps a bit. They are also trying desperately to contact either their father or Mystake through either prayer or magic. However, they don't succeed until they've already been barricaded in the monastery.
When the Fsm hears his children screaming in his head for help, he is understandably worried, it's not often that their kids are in true peril after all. When they finally manage to get the story out of their kids, they are furious in a way they haven't been in thousands of years. They quickly explain the situation to Mystake, who is (almost) as livid as Fsm, before teleporting them them to the monastery.
(They cause a lot of commotion once they get to the monastery. The civilians who had sheltered had not expected two massive beings to randomly appear in there midst. Especially since one looks similar to the beings they just escaped, and the other resembles the children of God. So it's up to the ninja to calm them down. Unfortunately telling them that the First Spinjitzu Master himself has arrived has the opposite effect, but at least they're less scared now.)
Upon arrival Fsm is momentarily thrown off by the civilians in the monastery, but they have spent their entire life being noticed and stared at, so the awe and fear that the civilians express doesn't bother him.
Fsm quickly transforms their clothes into proper armour (think crystalized style) and launches themself over the monastery walls and into the battle (Mystake doesn't follow him, she knows better than to get in the way of her child when he is on a warpath). Fsm proceeds to absolutely thrash The Omega and their army; burning them, freezing them, and throwing them off of the mountain. He makes the Oni regret ever conceiving this idea. The Fsm pays special attention to The Omega, and rips out their heart with their bare claws, because how dare The Omega think that they can just take his home, his family from him. They will pay for this in the life and blood, and no being in the sixteen realms can help them now. He will wipe them from the face of Ninjago.
And for the first time, The omega truly realises that just because the First Spinjitzu Master put an end to the war, it does not mean that they are a pacifist. It does not mean that they cannot rage with all the fury and savageness of a full-blooded Oni. They are balance incarnate, this does not make them good, and it's The Omegas fault for assuming that they were.
And so the Oni are banished and destroyed by the god of the land they sought to conquer. When the fighting stops, Garmadon creaks open the monastery gates to look outside. Fsm is covered in the Oni's blood, looking (and feeling) like one wrong move from someone is going to send them into a fit of madness. But they relax a bit at the sight of their eldest child safe. After making sure Garmadon is all right, the Fsm stalks back to monastery to find the rest of his family. And also to change out of their armour and clean up because there is blood in the seams and on his face and it's gross.
Once he enters the monastery he herds Garmadon, Wu, Lloyd, and even Mystake into the monastery, and they are wise enough not to argue with him. The First Spinjitzu Master is understandably agitated, and Mystake, Garmadon, and Wu know him, and their general Oni instincts well enough, to understand that they will barely be let out of his sight for the next few days (Lloyd, at this point, hasn't really experienced the full might of an Oni's possessiveness, but he will just have to get use to it).
Eventually the rest of the ninja sort out the civilians, and set them up in a nearby village while Ninjago City is still covered in darkness (the monastery has enough room for all of them, but the ninja aren't willing to find out what the First Spinjitzu Master will do to any "intruders"). At some point, Mystake sends for the other two warlords, who clear Ninjago City of the dark fog.
So yeah, Fsm is absolutely enraged that The Omega is attacking their home, and ends up reverting to the base instincts of 'defend your territory', 'defend your pack', and 'destroy anyone who harms them'. After he calms down he ends up a bit embarrassed about how he handled it, but before he can dwell on it too much he collapses from exhaustion.
But what a way to re-introduce themself to the wider population of Ninjago.
And in case you’re wondering where Morro is in all this, he's busy vibing with Nyad, who has all her memories because this au is incredibly self-indulgent.
#can you tell i love mystake#once again this ended up being way longer than expected#but oh well#fsm lives au#ninjago fsm#fsm ninjago#first spinjitzu master#ninjago mystake#ninjago wu#ninjago omega#ninjago garmadon#lego ninjago#ninjago#cat rambles

I think the show does a really good job at validating and empathizing with Akemi’s concerns as a woman living under a patriarchy while also acknowledging her privileges, not just as a wealthy person, but as a literal princess. There’s a lot to be said about Akemi’s dynamic with Madame Kaji and the other sex workers but right now I’m focusing on her and Mizu as two main characters whose experiences as women contrast each other the most. I specifically want to talk about the end of episode 5 because it’s a culmination of so many things.
*SPOILERS BELOW
Mizu obviously isn’t there to personally see the misogyny Akemi experiences so from her perspective, she has no real reason to empathize with her running away. Mizu also just has her own priorities with her revenge quest. But even with the lack of context or understanding of Akemi’s situation, Mizu and the other sex workers' judgment of Akemi isn’t unfounded because she has real privilege over them. As a princess, she has an unfathomable amount of wealth that lets her live a life of comfort and luxury so far removed from other people’s experiences to the point where, Akemi herself states that being rich like that makes you forget that you’re rich. And while Akemi is clearly shown to utilize the skills sets she does have to her advantage when she runs away, it’s not an insult to her intelligence to acknowledge that getting as far as Madame Kaji’s establishment was also the result of luck because there’s so many ways that things could’ve gone wrong on the way there.
So for Mizu to encounter Akemi
A princess who ran away from all that luxury for the sake of a failed marriage with a guy who bullied/hate crimed Mizu as a child and wants to duel and kill her for his honor/social status in the present (when social climbing was never truly possible for Mizu even when disguised as a man and because we know how her marriage ended)
A princess who tried to kill her and says she only regrets not doing it immediately
A princess who calls her a monster just like everyone else
A princess who has no idea Mizu’s even a woman or all the experiences that got her to this point, including the assassination of Kinuyo (who didn’t want to die) at Madam Kaji’s request because women have to be practical and think of the results (not how they get there) when it comes to revenge
A princess who may have fought to help defend Madame Kaji and her girls but then expected a mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted Mizu (suffering from multiple puncture wounds after doing the majority of the killing/defending) to fight Akemi’s own guards like a personal attack dog when doing so would’ve more than likely killed her and Ringo while Akemi still lived and got taken back home…. *takes a deep breath*
It’s totally understandable why Mizu just lets them take Akemi.
On Akemi’s part, she doesn’t know the context around why Mizu is the way that she is but at the end of the episode assumes that she’s not capable of love when they’ve only known each other for… not even a day and half technically speaking. Meanwhile Mizu’s assessment of Akemi’s privilege is still accurate in certain ways despite her lack of context that makes Akemi empathetic to us as the audience. Also, not that Mizu sees this happen, Akemi is able to maneuver her way around the shogun’s court and her new husband while also uplifting and hiring Madame Kaji and her girls to both their benefit. A path she chooses to continue taking at the end of the season. It’s still within the confines of the patriarchy and not without its challenges, but Akemi is taking advantage of the privileges she does have when she previously took them for granted.
Both Mizu and Akemi are just so nuanced and well written and this scene is a perfect example of how and why they clash due to such drastically different lives shaped by their social status. I’m curious to see how their journeys will go from here and what circumstances reunite them (for better or worse) given where they left off with each other during the season finale.

Brotherly Payback
(TickleTober Day 3: Prank)
Summary: Dean gets revenge on his brother after the beer bottle prank.
Pairing: none… obviously.
Word count: 1099
A/N: I’ve been wanting to write a story like this for so long because s1e10 is so cute… 😔❤️
So here’s that :>
———————————————————
“You didn’t…” The older Winchester sat there in utter disbelief, beer bottle glued (literally) to his hand.
The brothers had been wrapped up in a prank war, going back and forth to see who could out-match the other. Sam, who had fallen victim to the old itching powder prank, decided to clap back by applying superglue a bottle of beer while Dean wasn’t looking. As the two raised their bottles to a solid plan, Dean took a sip, went to put the glass down, only to find that he couldn’t…
“Oh…” Sam smirked, holding up a small tube of superglue. “I did.” Amused by his brother’s dumbfounded expression, he fell into that rare laughter that Dean could only describe as sunshiny and precious, even if it was at his expense.
Dean tried to shake the bottle off of his hand, but it just wouldn’t budge. He eventually gave up with an irritated huff, glaring at Sam. “You’re gonna pay for that, Sammy.”
The taller brother wiped away a fake tear of mirth, crossing his arms and continuing to chuckle. “Oh yeah? With what? Another ridiculous prank?”
The younger’s cocky attitude made Dean’s blood boil a bit… but he knew the kid wouldn’t be laughing for long. Well… he would be, but in a different way.
“Oh, you’ll see, Sammy. You’ll see…” He had that dangerous glint in his eyes that spelled trouble, and the devilish smirk that crept on his face easily sent a shiver down Sam’s spine. There might actually be cause for concern here
From there, things continued as normal, at least after Dean painfully ripped the beer out of his hand. They ate their food, discussed the hunt, made jokes, the usual. By the time they packed up and got in the Impala to head off to the motel, Sam had forgotten all about Dean’s little threat.
The two arrived back at their motel room, slamming the door behind them and dropping their stuff. But as Sam tossed his bag onto his bed and made the move to sit down, he was tackled onto the mattress, a slight panic growing in his chest as he felt someone straddle his hips and pin his arms above his head. When he looked up, he saw none other than Dean.
Of course it was Dean…
“What the hell, Dean?!” Sam huffed, tugging at his arms and trying to wriggle out from underneath the elder. The response only caused Dean to smirk.
“What’s the matter, Sammy? Revenge not tasting so sweet?”
“Your ‘revenge’ is sitting on me- EEK!- WAIT!”
Sam’s complaint was interrupted as a tingly sensation shot through his body, the result of Dean’s fingers digging into his sides with expert precision. The younger Winchester broke into barks of laughter, his head falling back against the mattress and his hands, now free, shoving at his brother’s chest.
Dean grinned triumphantly, watching his normally stoic younger brother come undone just from a few wiggling fingers.
“Aww, wait? But I’m just getting started!” He taunted, moving up to target the man’s ribs, which earned a wild buck of the hips. “Did you seriously think I’d let you get away with that little stunt? That glue ripped the skin off my damn hand!”
Sam kicked his long legs and stuck his arms to his sides, trying to block his ribs from his mischievous older brother, but Dean wasn’t deterred. If Sam was blocking the area, he’d swiftly attack elsewhere… then if Sam went to block that area, he’d shoot straight to the original target. This kept Sam on his toes, unable to guess where his brother would go next.
When the shorter hunter started skittering his nails down Sam’s sides, the younger’s eyes widened, instantly aware of where Dean was trying to go.
“N-No, plehehehease…! I’m sorry! Don’t do it!” He pleaded through frantic giggles, looking up at his big brother’s cheeky expression. Dean looked right into those big, hazel eyes, and despite the younger’s protests, he didn’t see any distress or discomfort in them. Instead, he saw anticipation and even a bit of excitement.
It took everything in Dean’s power to keep that ‘evil’ facade up, but even then, his smile was getting fonder by the minute.
“You’re sorry, huh? Well…” He hummed, pausing to tap his chin.
“I don’t believe you.”
With that, he dropped his hands and latched onto his younger brother’s sensitive stomach, sneaking under the fabric of his shirt, which had ridden up from the struggle.
Shrill squeals echoed through the small room as Sam writhed under the persistent tickle attack, flailing his arms and bucking his hips. He arched his back out of instinct, though it only pushed him closer to those evil fingers.
“NAHAHAH!- D-DEAN, I CAN’T!!”
“Oh, you can’t, huh? Kinda like how I couldn’t get that bottle off my hand without ripping my skin off?” Dean teased. He wasn’t really THAT mad about the prank… he just wanted to drag this on for as long as possible.
Sam groaned through his guffaws, shaking his head to try and find an outlet for the sensations.
“OH MY GOD, I GET IT!! I-I’M SORRY! MEHEHERCY!”
By this point, the younger hunter’s cheeks were bright red and stained with tears. His belly was getting sore from all the laughter and even his face was feeling the effects of smiling so hard. Dean absolutely loved it. It was so rare for Sam to laugh himself to this state… and the fact that his brother was enjoying this just as much as he was only made the moment that much sweeter.
Nevertheless, he knew he had to let up soon. So as a final gift, he pressed a big raspberry right into the younger’s naval, eliciting a loud shriek, followed by high pitched, boyish laughter.
After a few more raspberries, Dean pulled away and ruffled Sam’s hair, a cheeky but warm grin on his face.
“Alright, alright… I think you learned your lesson.” He chuckled, sitting beside the younger hunter and watching him catch his breath. Despite the tickling having stopped, Sam was still giggling from the phantom tickles. Still… he couldn’t deny that it felt nice.
“You’re such a jerk…” Sam muttered, a goofy grin still glued to his face.
Dean rolled his eyes, holding up his hand, which had some redness and skin peeling. “You caused me legitimate pain.”
“You put itching powder in my pants!”
…
“Fair enough.”
Though the prank war was far from over, Sam had certainly learned to dial it back a bit…
At least just enough to avoid Dean’s wrath again.

KNIGHT Autumn!
(Lyrics from “Brutus” by the Buttress)
+ some sketches that lead to this piece and rambling about REVO Autumn & Priest

HRGGGGG IM NORMAL ABOUT THESE TWO I SWEAR—
The two have a sort of “secret third option” to describe the relationship. Every interaction is from the basis of mutually assured destruction. Since both know the other is an absolute fraud when it comes to what they say they are. (Priest being Lightsent and having a connection with a “god”, and Autumn having lost a wing from a demon attacking and him fighting it off) Autumn absolutely fucking hates Priest for how he’s ruined so many lives.
However.
Both of them lied their asses off to climb and pull themselves into a higher class of living. Both have also been treated like shit by most of their race in the lives they had before they came up with the lies. Autumn gets the want to get revenge on their whole race for how they treated you. Difference is? Autumn doesn’t think he deserves it, while Priest very much thinks he does.
Autumn learned a LOT about Priest (mans a fucking YAPPER about himself) because he was Priests personal guard whenever Priest was weakened from using magic. Which put him in the position to kill priest several, SEVERAL times. An opportunity he never took up. Though he did fantasize and came extremely close to it after Flame was tortured by Flint.
Autumn saw a side of Priest no one else did: The vulnerable side of Priest. The HONEST side of Priest. Because who would believe Autumn? And even if they did believe Autumn, Priest made sure to tighten the metaphorical leash he had on Autumn (reminded Autumn of their M.A.D.) to remind Autumn to never EVER let any info on him slip out.
Autumn meanwhile was never honest. Till he was. Till he found himself actually missing the Understanding of how he was treated by society. The Understanding of what it was like to always be living a life of lies. To never be able to be honest or else your life will fall apart.
….Funny. He found that understanding with Spice years down the line in SASS. Doesn’t get that in REVO, he just gets further trapped in a web of his own weaving.
As for why i decicded to draw him as a knight?
Autumn just really gives off knight vibes in REVO. Maybe it’s the fact that he had the sheer will to gouge a chunk of his back out in Early Years. I dont know. He just really gives off “will and strength of a Knight” he’s got the attitude of one. “Will sacrifice everything for the safety of his family” type shit is Knight mentality.
And ifdk how to describe the dynamic between Priest and Autumn. (Without going on a six paragraph essay rant at least) Villian and his blackmailed henchman??? Enemies to secret third option??? Corrupt King and his fool of a knight??? These fuckers would never kiss. Hell no.
(Well, maybe under heavily specific circumstances…)
Priest does think Autumn is unattractive and ugly, and Autumn thinks touch from Priest is absolutely vile. But there’s something ??? Something inexplicable that you can’t describe but is there. Very Porcilavian of a relationship between them. It’s definitely not a sexual relationship, or really a romantic relationship, i would say platonic, but platonic doesn’t feel right to describe it either? There’s hate in the relationship and constant political “games of chess”, but at the end of the day there’s ironically an aspect of trust in the other. A trust that if one were to destroy the other, they’d get dragged down with you.
Legitimately cannot convey this shit, the words are simply not in our vocabulary if the words exist at all. Send help (genuinely, what do they come across as)
Priest has NPD, and that results in an interesting view towards Autumn. Autumn isn’t his equal, but very close to being his equal (due to them living very similar upbringings in the sense that they were treated like shit for things they couldn’t control.) And because of that, Priest genuinely hates the fact that Autumn doesn’t think highly of himself. Because then by proxy, that means Priest isn’t viewed highly. So he makes comments that raise Autumns self confidence in backhanded ways. Tends to use WE statements (associating Autumn with him) and “people like us” statements when monologuing to Autumn about why he deserves everything and the respect and adoration of everyone. Tries to get Autumn to be selfish and do something to make himself satisfied for once.
He does regularly violate Autumns bodily autonomy though. Do NOT take their whatever the heck this is as a Good Relationship at all.
If I had to sum up Autumns feelings towards Priest in one song, it’d be Brutus.
“What motivates me now, hatred? or is it love?”
“My name is Brutus and my name means heavy—“
“So with a heavy heart I’ll drive this dagger into the heart of my enemy”
“Please know that my actions are not motivated only by envy!”
“I too have a destiny, this death will be art.”
“The people will speak of this day from near and far!”
“This event will be history! And I’ll be great too!”
“I don’t want what you have— I WANNA BE YOU”

TLOU Part 2 AU Joel lives, Tommy dies
TLOUII au
Abby doesn't kill Joel. She wants him to suffer the way he made her suffer. So she does the next best thing. She kills Tommy right in front of him.
Inspired by this tiktok
I think it's a very interesting concept to explore. What would happen if Tommy died instead..
Abby shots Joel like in canon, but instead of killing him, she tells her friends to hold Joel down.
Owen:"Abbey, what are you doing?"
Abby:"Killing him is too good for him, he needs to suffer like he made me suffer"
and then she kills Tommy.
Or alternatively, Tommy gets a bad feel of the situation and names himself Joel and calls Joel Tommy to protect his brother, sacrifices himself and still leads to this scenario.
When Ellie appears, all she sees is Joel crawling and cradling Tommy's dead body.
Joel, Ellie and Maria would mourn together and Ellie would help him on his path of vengeance.
Ellie would definitely be on board with helping Joel track down and kill Abby and co, but given that she doesn’t have as strong a relationship with Tommy as Joel does (or as she does with Joel in the story proper), she’s more capable of looking at things from a less rage-fueled perspective.
Ellie tries to talk him out of it. He leave her a note, she goes after him. Immediately, you’re giving Abby more of a chance as a sympathetic character. There is a layer of disconnect between Tommy and Ellie so instead of watching her destroy herself for revenge, we are actively trying to stop Joel from doing so.
As we learn more about Abby, Ellie is able to advocate for her as someone who would also kill for her father figure. You’re more invested in the journey because Joel is at the end of it. Once we do meet up with him it’s up to Ellie to convince him to help them get back to Jackson because Dina needs medical attention. You beg him to leave behind his revenge and help Dina.
I think the doubts of “Hey, maybe we shouldn’t kill these people” would creep in around the confrontation with Owen and Mel (dunno if it would result in them and Alice surviving or not, though)
Things would definitely come to a head at the theatre, when they come face to face with Abby, a deeply traumatised person who did something awful, but has now become the surrogate family for another deeply traumatised young kid, and Ellie would be able to clock (even subconsciously) the situation and go “Hey, we gotta stop, Joel, they’re us”.
Abby tracks them down as always and threatens Ellie making Joel admits to being the one who killed her father. Joel appears to die and we go to the farmhouse. Here Joel comes to Ellie and explains that he’s found Abby. Ellie again pleads with him to let it go and again he ignores her so Ellie is forced to go after him. Ultimately I think Ellie would be able to get through to him and stop him when they come face to face with Abby and Lev(aka their mirrors)
While I love the game we got, I think the game would have been better like this
If Tommy died because they thought he was Joel then it would have added a lot to the story and Joel's actions in the first game
Joel would have felt the guilt during the story, blaming himself and suffering the consequences of his actions.
He'd be forced to tell Ellie and Marie what he did
The relationships would be strained
Hell they could have went further and had Jackson under attack more with more innocents being killed and it would have been the consequences to his actions catching up with him.
Maybe Abby gets the upper hand in the fight at the theatre, but Lev stops her from killing Joel (or Ellie, depending on if Ellie winds up in the position that Dina was in in the game proper), which results in Joel going back to Jackson, but still planning on going after Abby again (like Tommy in the scene at the farm). Ellie tries to talk him out of it, but he sneaks off, and Ellie follows him. She gets to the Rattlers base shortly after Joel’s slaughtered his way through them and meets Lev (who’s not on the beach with Abby in this version), and they team up to get down to the beach to stop Joel.
We could get a little bit of the game devoted to Ellie and Lev bonding as they make their way down to the beach, which would be fun.
I feel like we should get the ending where Ellie and Lev stops Joel and Abby from killing each other. It's obviously not realistic, but I feel like everyone should heal rather than Joel and Abby killing each other.
Rather than Ellie losing Dina, it's Joel who self-exiles from Jackson.
