Hi y'all!! This is my drawing for the Boingo day, which let's just say it took a year to complete as a concept... Anywho, for that person who wondered who was the drag one, even though a year later, here's the answer!

@okaytosave ugghhhh I forgot to mention the score! I agree, it is so well done, I listened to that as much as the soundtrack and I truly wouldn't change a single thing about it. we can only hope the s3 music is as good (haunting strings are critical).
I remember watching a behind the scenes with the composer and they were doing all sorts of cool things like making modifications to the structure of a cello (or violin??) to get a jarring unnerving sound out of it. Lestat's violin duet on the beach is soooooooo good.

Hiii ✨️ I hope you're doing well! 💖
I wanted to ask a thing, since after seeing the Thunderbolts* movie twice (which is amazing btw, seriously) I've fallen in love with Bob/Sentry (bless Lewis Pullman's performance) and I'm trying to read about him in the comics, even if his presence is a bit scattered around. I first saw him in the Sorcerer Supreme Loki series where he helped Strange and I remember really liking their interactions and feeling interested in the character, and I'm obviously intrigued by the relationship between Bob and Stephen (and the Void), which seems to go back for a while and I noticed Stephen is mentioned pretty often in Sentry's history trying to help him. Unfortunately I haven't read much of Stephen in team-ups besides the old Defenders and the Illuminati so I'm missing a big chunk of infos, and the Loki series is the only time I've read them together (not counting the zombie Sentry that our fav magic power couple fought recently).
Do you have any insight on their relationship, reading suggestions or anything really? thank you in advance, you're always the best 🙏🏻💕
Hello!!
Yeah, Stephen and the Sentry go waaaay back, it's a tad confusing because he and the Fantastic Four (more specifically, Reed) are the ones responsible for "erasing" the Sentry/Bob from history at his own request, and that included their minds too, mostly because of the Void and what he could do to the world. The issue is, we're talking about Reed, so of course he'd learn sooner or later that something was amiss, even when it's his own doing.

You'll find this arc in The Sentry v1 #1-5 (Stephen appears in #3 and #4), and then The Sentry vs. The Void one-shot.
When the Sentry returned, he sought Stephen's aid (because, well, he was legit the only one who could help).
Tumblr media
It... didn't go well.

Later on, Stephen helped brainwash the Sentry (or at least tried), and albeit antiethical, he had his reasons.

You'll find this story in The Sentry v2 #6-7.
In The Sentry - Fallen Sun one-shot, you can also see some heroes like Tony, the Fantastic Four, some X-Men and of course Stephen mourning his "death".
Lastly, as you already mentioned, we have a last glimpse of Stephen and Bob's relationship in Cates' Doctor Strange.
In short? It's complicated. Bob has been deceived and lied to several times because of his unique circumstances. His story is filled with betrayal and that's why he resents many people, Stephen included.
As you probably noticed from the movie, the Sentry is extremely powerful, Superman levels of powerful. He was the only one strong enough to face the freaking Hulk during World War Hulk (we're talking the very same angry Hulk that defeated Stephen, Black Bolt, Reed and Tony because they sent him to Sakaar). But he's also very troubled by his mental health and the Void.
Unfortunately, their relationship goes as far as these stories tell. I think they deserved some kind of closure, pretty much like Hulk and Stephen post Planet Hulk/WWH. It isn't fair for Bob and it also goes back to Stephen's shady characterization when he used to trifle with dangerous magics regardless of people's feelings (Illuminati era and such). I pretty much prefer when he's kind and shows affability when dealing with people in need. It highlights his heart and soul as a doctor and human being instead of his arrogance.
Gladly, writers these days are not pursuing this characterization anymore, and the Sentry... Well, we were introduced to his legacy inheritor Mallory Gibbs, and then Marvel proceeded to ignore her existence. Who knows what editorial will do next, it's always a twist or complete apathy. As of now, I think Bob is still dead considering both Clea and Stephen faced him in DODS/Strange v3, although they were responsible for the new Sentry/Sentries (set in v4).

That's all I have for now. I know, I know, crumbs. All we have is crumbs, as usual...
Thank you for passing by and leaving such a nice message, I really appreciate it 💜

E. Jason Gibbs ~ fish point
fish point is a gorgeous meditation on place and time, one that bemoans what has been lost and celebrates what still exists.  Recorded in Portland, Maine, the set teems with the sounds of water and wildlife, but also reflects the proliferation of industrial sounds and the slow dissolution of everything that made Fish Point so appealing in the first place. After reading the liner notes, one might…
