Random thought but
Also, SPOILERS if you haven’t watched Ghost in The Shell 💀) But I just had a random thought.
Tumblr media
So you know how some of us are curious to know whether Pinocchio feels human to the touch, or not? (not in the perverted sense. 🙁)
It got me thinking back to Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in The Shell and how she was created, skin wise mostly 💀
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First, she started out like this. Her parts being assembled, and then she gets dumped in the green liquid, before she suddenly comes to the surface.
Tumblr media
THEN judging by the following scenes, it seems that the green stuff is what made up her hair and skin cells, considering she was both bald and robotic looking when she got marinated in the green sauce 💀
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FINALLY, comes out of the green stuff, and suddenly it starts to lift from her body, and it reveals she looks completely humanoid. No signs of her being robotic whatsoever. No her skin is a peachy pale, her lips are colored, and her hair is black. (Looks brown in the pic but I wasn’t quick enough to take a screenshot 🤡)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For one, Ive seen some theories on both here, and the Lies of P discord revolving around THIS dude possibly being either the Ghost of Geppetto’s original son that from what we know, Pinocchio in the original story, was made in his image.
(Also, this was the best picture I could find of him, I just took the first pic I googled 💀)
Tumblr media
Cool right? We also see a dude who looks EERILY SIMILAR TO HIM, pop out when Pinocchio’s fighting, only thing is he’s glowing blue and white and his name is Spector…
Bro. Considering that this is a darker retelling of Pinocchio on top of being a Dark Souls game, I think all hands are on the table to theorize some macabre shit. 👀
Antonia did say something Along the lines of Geppetto being mad with guilt. Of course that could be could also be taken as her joking to Pinocchio about him, kind of like when your parent’s friends joke to you about how your parents were back in the day or something, but I find it kind of weird that Spector can pop up in fights when needed, as well as I find it weird that Pinocchio, from what we saw from both the trailer and now the demo, hear’s someone whisper “Wake up” and this causes his eyes to squint slightly as if he too is wondering if he just heard that shit himself. 💀
Tumblr media
And then with it coming out that we can lie to Geppetto as well, i also find that weird since it seems from both the advertisement for the game and the little demo gameplay we have, it seems that we’re supposed to be helping Geppetto in a sense find out both the cause to why the robots have gone rogue, as well as protecting the innocent around him. Why would he need to lie to Geppetto if we’re on the same side?
And yeah we can say, “So he can feel like a real boy.” But part of me personally feels like Pinocchio (from what I personally understood from the demo) doesn’t really have that goal in mind.
Yet…
Right now, I feel like he’s just lying because it benefits him at the moment. I mean if he told the truth about being a puppet, he wouldn’t have been able to get into the hotel. Of course, there’s the other things he lies about that he might not need to necessarily lie about… but Geppetto made him with free will. Who’s to say the moment he lied and felt his gears turning, the next time he’s offered the choice, he just lies because he’s curious as to what he’s feeling? (Kind of like how Motoko was curious if the memories she had were artificial or not and this causes her to do things like go scuba diving for “relaxation” knowing if her system malfunctions, she’s fucked and even Bautou find it weird she’s willing to risk it)
Finally, jumping back to how I said I feel like his goal to becoming a real boy (if the game is going to keep that key element having to do with the fairytale the games based on) as well as why I brought up Ghost in the Shell in the first place.
What if Geppetto made Pinocchio using his son?
Again, if you’ve seen Ghost in the Shell, Motoko spent the film wondering if the memories she had were ones she made up to feel less artificial, and she questions had she ever been human considering her current brain (the grey thing in the first pictures of Motoko I added) was a now a cyber brain and that they had added what they refer to, as her “Ghost” to this artificial brain.
Due to the fact her actual body had been in the process of dying, and in an effort to save her, they basically removed her brain in spinal cord and for a moment in time, placed it in a artificial child’s body (the death of her body happened when she was a child. Sounds suspiciously similar right? 👀 The only aspect of it being in the actual Pinocchio story, the puppet doesn’t become possessed with the spirit of Geppetto’s dead son.)
Like, what if part of the main storyline other than the crazy killer puppets, is Pinocchio questioning his creation? And what if “Spector” is the voice trying to drop hints to him about this? (Like what if his gears moving is Spectors way of telling him he’s going in the direction he’s trying to guide him to?)
Also, considering that the story takes place around the early 19th century, even with the crazy (modern for their time)yet old inventions, just how the fuck was Geppetto able to make Pinocchio appear so human? Like the hair on his head is not a wig, and while his skin is clearly blemish free and smooth, his skin appears to have obviously have pores on it. Like I feel like if he wanted to, he could facially emote so easily and I wouldn’t guess anything about him was robotic at all.
I sound batshit crazy, I know but I’m lowkey serious and curious if they took inspiration from it 😭 please let me know how you guys feel about this

Thoughts and Observations From The Movie, Part 1/4
Well, if the title isn’t self explanatory enough, this is a collection of screenshots I took from the Rise Movie that contain neat details or things that I think are silly, or that offer starting points for theories.
Tumblr media
This one isn’t too new, but you can notice in the opening sequence of the movie, particularly during Mikey’s entrance, evidence of both April’s and Big Mama’s downfalls. (It can be hard to tell, but April’s arm and a part of her hairdo are sticking out of the rubble there)
Before I spotted this, I remember thinking it was weird that Leo believed this was the end of the rebellion, like “there’s no way they haven’t had bad battles before”, especially given that Donnie and Raph are both confirmed to have died way before this. But then there’s this… And you can assume anyone else fighting, like Todd, seen not even a minute earlier, was absolutely destroyed if both these legends didn’t make it. And followed pretty immediately by Mikey and Leo himself… Lotta death in the beginning here.
Further content below the cut!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I loveeee this scene! These guys are so gay! And, frankly, Hypno-potamus is my absolute favourite villain, in both design and personality, in the whole show.
The main things I liked from this scene were the fact that Warren Stone is sitting in a rainbow-unicorn themed baby seat, and that he and Hypno are sharing a soda with two straws, from Albearto’s, no less.
Tumblr media
I paused here because it seems to be a direct parallel to “Shell in the Cell”, which is the episode where we first meet Ghost Bear. There, it was Leo and Mikey fighting against Raph and Donnie, where Mikey and Donnie were kinda the b plot, naturally. Here though, I like that Mikey and Donnie were trying to stop Leo and Raph from fighting, as opposed to encouraging it. And man, they put some effort in. Bodily pushing back against Leo, in Mikey’s case, and full on jumping up on Raph’s back for Donnie.
Tumblr media
Okay, it can’t be just me. Anyone else look at this and wonder if it’s Karai and her village, as was described after we first meet her? It would make a loooot of sense. Also, really digging the art style here.
Tumblr media
Additionally, WHO ARE THESE WARRIORS???? I NEED TO KNOW??? THEY EVEN HAVE THE SAME COLOURS, PLEASE! THERE HAS TO BE MORE SIGNIFICANCE TO THIS, THERE’S ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THIS IS COINCIDENTAL.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This! is the most sibling interaction ever, I swear. If you have siblings and you don’t occasionally have conversations that consist entirely of dirty looks… Well, idk, but I haven’t met anyone like that yet. Such a foreign idea to me, as the eldest of five.
Tumblr media
Props to Donnie, though. Even after the Grimace Exchange with Leo, he got up to follow after him. Still complaining all the way, like a true sibling does, but up and at ‘em regardless.
Did you know the storyboard art for this scene included Donnie pulling out a bottle of hand sanitizer at the last second and giving it a hard enough squeeze to completely soak himself?

Eventually I will run out of things to talk about. But until then, more trivia. Mostly creatures/bosses.
Prime
Tumblr media
I don’t know when you would ever see this normally, but the elevators in West/East Towers (access to Control Tower, the outdoor arena area) have a rather elaborate full mechanism underneath.
Tumblr media
Rain only appears in a cube around Samus. This is a metaphor for her life.
Tumblr media
For some reason there is collision information at the bottom of Impact Crater - but only the version surrounding the Artifact Temple room specifically. It’s not terrifically accurate to the visual geometry - the ball is rolling quite a bit above the “ground” - but it’s still there... For some reason.............
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm a little endeared with how Space Pirates look like a completely different species in each game with no explanation whatsoever. Anyway, the ones in Prime have these almost invisible lines of orange hairs on the limbs, which is very charmingly buggy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, this one was kind enough to stand still for a height comparison. (Their AI doesn’t handle noclipping very well - often they just don’t attack when approached from the air.)
...
I spoke a bit ago about Metroid Prime’s additional eyes, which are not very easy to see in game.
Tumblr media
They’re actually rolled back into her carapace in the intro cutscene before the fight, so it’s not surprising that you don’t really notice them.
Tumblr media
After said intro cutscene, she is fully spawned in the room below and idle animating with no weapons systems active. Kind of a look, honestly.
Tumblr media
Back to the eyes. Even if you saw the eyes, you would almost certainly not notice this behavior, but... They’re actually programmed to follow the player’s position exactly. The camera may be down here, but Samus is still in the room above and to the right, so that’s... where they’re looking..............
Tumblr media
In later parts of the fight Metroid Prime uses this “tractor beam” attack, which actually emanates from the front two eyes. Somehow, I’m getting Gritty vibes.
...Impact Crater in general has always felt a little rushed to me, like it was thrown together last minute to just finish the damn game. (The boss rooms in particular are... hmm.) I still love it, though.
Tumblr media
And there’s still all kinds of details, like these transparent areas with ... creatures? Swimming in them?? In concept art they’re mentioned as protozoans.
Tumblr media
Let’s noclip in. They look like microbes or plankton. But big!
Tumblr media
In a possible nod to these guys, the core access rooms in Corruption’s Leviathan Seeds have these floating clouds of similar creatures (labeled as “Phazon Cells” in game data). (Well, maybe less a nod and more a flex, really, especially when you consider that these games came out less than 5 years apart.)
Echoes
While I was cleaning up, I found the first of these screenshots I took:
Tumblr media
Yeah.
Anyways,
Tumblr media
Ingclaw butt.
Tumblr media
Absurdly detailed Amorbis butthole. Why?
You ever remember you can bring up a nice, rotateable model in an short idle animation in the Logbook? Cause. You sure can do that in 2 and 3. OK.
Tumblr media
Each of Dark Amorbis’ segments is separated by a bright red disc.
Tumblr media
Part of the Spider Guardian’s model clips through its head on one side - you can see a little speck of bright red, plus some hairs. Or rather, the outer shell is accidentally concave...?
This only applies in this “swimming”/damage animation - it looks fine when rolling around. Probably just has a vertex off or something. You can’t see it in the fight. It’s fine.
Tumblr media
Also, it’s perfectly possible to hit it with gun.
However, only the normal Power Beam shot actually deals damage - other weapons only stun it.
Additionally, while you technically can kill it this way, the normal death cutscene won’t play afterwards. That cutscene is what’s actually responsible for spawning the Spider Ball upgrade, so... No Spider Ball. Kind of defeats the purpose of defeating it, really. You still get a purple credit in Trilogy, at least.
Tumblr media
Regular pillbugs have gorgeous spiral undersides.
Tumblr media
Echoes’ troopers were less cooperative. They appear to be... big...?
Tumblr media
That round thing in her chest (heart?) is visibly beating. Seems like a design flaw, but I guess that’s why this one isn’t a commando.
Tumblr media
Speaking of which, these ones aren’t programmed to attack. They’re also quite a bit bigger.
Tumblr media
I have invulnerability on when taking photos. Normally, enemy attacks just fizzle out when they land.
However, Quadraxis’ Annihilator shots bounce off of invulnerable entities. This trait is shared with Samus’ weaponry (you’ve probably seen this behavior with doors, or with largely-invulnerable enemies like Quadraxis itself). Maybe its attacks use the same code? Sadly, I can’t seem to get it to aim at the Annihilator door to the temple access.
Sort of an aside, but I feel like we’re missing out on beam deflection puzzles. Bouncing shots off things is fun [citation needed], and it was clearly already possible in the Prime engine... and in Super Metroid, too, weirdly enough. But I guess it’s just never occurred to anyone to use deflection for puzzles? Or maybe that kind of mechanic was deemed too spatially challenging for an all-ages series. It’s never too late though! (I think some SM hacks use it, at least...)
Corruption
Tumblr media
Planets, while lovely-looking, aren’t actually spheres. They’re made up of lots of mostly-flat layers...
Tumblr media
One time I fucked up the event flags in this game so hard that Unit 217 disappeared. Please use noclip responsibly.
Tumblr media
This is where where the umbilical cord of a Leviathan core attaches to the seed. Looks like sliced roast beef.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On Bryyo, in the North and South Jungle Hall rooms (here and here), there is collision information and even some texturing on otherwise inaccessible areas.
Maybe these bits were meant to be accessible at some point...? You can easily jump up to the grates from the bulkhead, you just can’t get up to the bulkhead normally.
Tumblr media
The wind turbines (there’s one in the background here) match the Space Pirate design from Echoes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s some weirdass jittery floating things in the Bryyo jungle atmosphere, too. They don’t seem destructible or aggressive. I can’t find anything else about them, though.
Tumblr media
Edit: According to @ bearborg, they’re labeled as spores ingame. Probably from the fungi!
Tumblr media
Going to upgrade the weird butthole count in this trilogy to “two” with the Korakk Beast here. Sorry.
Tumblr media
By the time you fight him, Rundas’ whole body is visibly laced with Phazon hyphae. But there’s even some clustered growths behind his "face”, underneath the PED. I think if you get close enough to him to see these, you probably have other things to worry about... Poor guy though.
Tumblr media
The Berserker Lord’s beautiful face, with the distinct horizontal row of eyes confirming that is a heavily modified Urtraghian Space Pirate. Same goes for the Knight, it’s just easier to see with Phazon all over it. I just... really was not sure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another “you probably have bigger things to worry about” detail, this spike-filled area in 313′s brain. It’s almost like a sub-brain? Looks uncomfortable.
Tumblr media
I tried to get a nice aesthetic shot of the opening cutscene for the Mogenar fight. At first glance, I thought this looked nice. However, upon closer inspection...
Tumblr media
Is Samus... hovering?
Tumblr media
Yep. The ground is well out of frame in the actual cutscene, so you’d never be able to tell.
I get why the cutscene artist did this - she wouldn’t be in the shot otherwise because the Mogenar is so far away, but actually moving her closer would force an awkward upward angle on the Mogenar. Because it’s, you know, huge. Still, I’m never going to be able to unsee this.

The chirp of the chat pierced your eardrum once more as you ignored it for the spreadsheet of dates on your other monitor. Working from home could be both peaceful and distracting but the third bing had you muting and pushing your headset to your neck with a grumble. You switched windows as the chat box blinked.
‘So why didn’t u tell me u had a bf?’ Zia’s bubble blipped up followed by impatient emojis.
“Wat r u talking bout?’ you typed back and clicked back to the spreadsheet to update the status of each course. That noise came again and you flipped back.
‘I’m not stupid! Come on. He’s far away but he’s cute.’
You frowned and tapped the space bar lightly. You were utterly confused. The only activity in your daily life were the general notifications from Tindr. You repeated the question and she sent an emoji rolling its eyes.
‘I’m serious.’ you replied.
She sent a link and then a laughing GIF attached to another bubbled response, ‘I’m not buyin it.’
You clicked on the hyperlink and a new tab opened. You scrolled down on the Insta as the air was knocked out of you at the sight of your own face. Not only were their pics taken from your public profile but several you’d never even posted. Your skin crawled and the bing sounded again.
‘So… an online thing huh.’ Zia pressed on.
‘I gotta work.’ you closed out of the window entirely but stayed on the Insta.
You scrolled through about a dozen or so selfies of you, each labeled as ‘missing my lady’ or ‘she’s so sweet, sending me pics to keep me company’. Your stomached roiled with mortification and the unsettling sensation of intrusion. It was easy enough to guess you’d been hacked but to think this was what the creep did with it was even more startling.
You changed the password on your Insta and went through the process of doing so with all of your accounts and ran a scan on your PC. You would likely have to file a ticket for a proper inspection with a specialist. You couldn’t help but shake as you went back to the profile after checking your bank account and PayPal to make sure it wasn’t worse than just pics.
You went back to the profile and found photos of the culprit. His spiky blond hair and glasses were unsurprising and his comic book tee shirt was even less. Your disgust was quickly replaced with anger as you hit the chat icon above his info.
‘Hey, jackass, care to tell me how you have my photos on your profile?!’
The read icon appeared almost and you saw him typing. It stopped and then started again.
‘You’re so beautiful, I wanted to share it with everyone.’
You scoffed at the message and cringed at the screen. ‘Are you nuts? Like actually. You stole my photos! You hacked me. Creep.’
You blocked him immediately after hitting send and logged out. You opened Excel again and tried to focus on the coloured cells. You could hardly process what you were doing as your phone began to vibe on the corner of your desk. It didn’t let up and you couldn’t focus past the incessant buzzing.
You snatched it up and several messages covered the screen as you unlocked it. ‘You really think that’s gonna work’; ‘You can’t block me’... several in a similar vein that you deleted before blocking the number. You silenced your phone and turned back to your monitor.
Suddenly the screen went black and you blinked. You hit the keyboard and clicked, assuming it fell asleep. It lit up again but all you saw was yourself staring back. Your mouth fell open and you ripped the clip-on cam from atop your monitor. You disconnected it as the notepad opened and typing flicked up across the white space.
‘I didn’t want it to be like this.’
You could move the mouse or backspace. All control was lost and you sat there helplessly watching the scrawl.
‘I think we’d be really good together if you only gave me a chance. Can’t you see I worship you?’
Your phone began to shake constantly and a private number flashed. You picked it up and hollered into the speaker, “leave me alone”. You hung up but it kept on and your screen turned to black once more. Your PC was still on but there was no reaction from the machine.
Fuck, you sat back and looked at your phone. You couldn’t even call work to tell them because the damn thing wouldn’t stop ringing. You put your head in your hands and grunted in frustration. How the fuck did all this happen?
🖱️
After your initial panic died down, you disconnected your tower and shut off your phone. You left your cell behind as it was just as useless. You hauled the PC down to IT at your work and filled out the ticket without giving intricate details on everything the weirdo had taken.
You left with a borrowed laptop. You wouldn’t sign into your personal accounts and stick to the company portal. You were embarrassed but happy to have a temporary solution. You got home and set up the new computer and reconfigured your wi-fi. You finished the last of the day’s work and ended the day with a glass of wine.
When you dared to turn your phone on again the next morning, it was filled with notifications from all platforms but each one you clicked on errored and prompted you to sign-in. All your new passwords were wrong and you knew it was him.
You checked the Insta and found a screenshot on his profile from the day before, your mouth agape in horror that could easily mistaken for surprise.
‘Her face when you pop the question on the call’. The caption made your stomach curdle and you nearly flung the phone away. You couldn’t comment without logging in or message. So you created a shell account with a throwaway email you used on Reddit.
‘Why won’t you stop?’ you sent the message through as you waited for your coffee to brew.
‘Stop what?’ he added a winky face with his reply and you growled.
‘You know who this is! Why are you doing this?’
‘Hmmm…’ he let the message hang there and you sat down with your mug and listened to the birds outside. ‘Imagine what someone else would do with everything I have.’
‘Look at what you’re doing. You’re ruining my life.’
‘Ruining? Sweetie, I’m watching over you. Protecting you.’
Your nostrils flared and you burnt your tongue on the coffee and planted it on the table so it sloshed over the sides.
‘Love you, sweetie. See ya soon.’
The chat box turned grey as you realised he blocked you. That pissed you off more than anything and you lobbed your phone away with a shout of anguish. This guy was fucked!
You were shaking so much you couldn’t even drink your coffee. You got up and paced until you could think straight. You dialed into work and told them you were taking the day off for a personal emergency and shut down your phone. You were too afraid he would find a way onto your work laptop and you didn’t want to have to explain that to IT too.
🖱️
Zia showed up on Saturday and she wasn’t happy. She buzzed up and banged on your door impatiently. You let her in and she crossed her arms over the strap of her purse as she crooked her hip.
“I know I shouldn’t have snooped but if you’re mad at me, you should’ve just said so. I would’ve backed off,” she scowled.
“I’m not mad,” you said as you backed into the front room and dragged your feet over the rug.
“Sure, you’re just ignoring all my messages by accident,” she stayed at the other side of the room.
“Not exactly, no,” you shrugged, “it’s a long story.”
“And you couldn’t shoot me a message to say that at least?”
“Look, I’m stressed the fuck out. I’m sorry but the only reason I didn’t answer you is because I can’t.”
“You can’t?”
“I can’t even turn my phone on anymore.”
“What--”
“Just--” you touched your temples, “I don’t even know how to explain--”
“Jesus, are you okay?” her anger slaked away as her voice softened.
“No, I’m not,” you sniffed, “I’ve been trapped in this apartment and I can’t think straight and I can’t even talk to anyone because my phone and my life is totally fucked.”
“How about we get a coffee and you can tell me once you’ve calmed down,” she said, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so worked up.”
“You don’t know how bad it is. I really fucked up,” you whined, “I don’t even know how it happened.”
“Is this about the boyfriend?”
You huffed and shook your head, “I told you, he’s not my boyfriend-- Let me get dressed.”
After you felt presentable enough to leave the apartment, the thought of getting away ushered you down the winding stairwell and onto the sidewalk. You and Zia walked down to the cafe on the corner where you always overspent on their specialty drink and caught up.
You ordered but when you tried to use your card, the machine beeped in rejection. You tried again but still no luck. Zia offered to pay and you promised you’d pay her back. Anxiety pitted deep in your stomach as you sat. You’d have to call the bank and figure out why eight dollars would bounce.
“So,” Zia said as she shaded her eyes against the sunlight streaming onto the open patio, “he’s not your boyfriend?”
“I don’t even know the dude,” you hissed as you almost overturned your cup, “Zee, those pictures, they were all on my phone. I never sent them to anyone. I don’t even know his real name and when I confronted him, he crashed my whole system and blew up my phone. I haven’t been able to log into anything because of him.”
“You’re shitting me,” she chuckled.
“Zee, I’m not fucking kidding,” you blinked, “don’t you think if I was dating some dude out in who knows where, you’d be the first to know? You think I’m wasting my time with the idiots on Tindr for fun?”
“No way,” she scoffed.
“Zia, look me in the eye,” you said as you gave her a stern look, “I’m freaking the fuck out.”
“Did you call the police?” she asked.
You sat back and closed your eyes. You were so swept up in the panic, you hadn’t even thought. You could report it to the police, just get a record of it even if they didn’t do anything else. You heard horror stories of hackers and how little could be done but you had to at least try.
“I guess I should go down to the station today,” you ran your fingertips along your chin, “I don’t know, I felt so alone, I thought--”
“And call your bank right now,” she slid her phone over, “figure out what’s going on with your accounts.”
You took her cell and dialed the number on the back of the card. You dragged your finger down the side of your cup as you listened to the automated message and hit the buttons to direct you to customer service. The hold song bubbled in your head and finally picked up as you finished the last of your mocha.
You explained the issue after giving your information as Zia sat patiently across from you. She watched the other patrons and looked out across the street as you waited on the representative on the other end.
“Looks like your account has been locked. Your savings and checking have been placed on hold citing possible fraud,” the woman explained.
“Well, can’t you unlock them? Why would they be flagged?”
“Hmm, well I see no suspicious spending so possibly… it could be due to an external lock, not us.”
“What does that mean?”
“I can’t speak to that. Have you received any communications from the Revenue service?”
“Revenue service? I don’t--no,” you gulped.
“I’m sorry, there’s nothing else I can tell you,” she said, “you should consider contacting federal services.”
You hung up and handed Zia her phone back. “Apparently, I’m under investigation for fraud? I don’t know.”
“Shit,” she took her cell, “are you sure?”
“It sounded like it but-- I gotta check my credit card,” you stood and grabbed your empty cup and your purse.
You stormed down the street to the ATM at the corner and inserted your card. LOCKED the machine made a hideous noise and you pulled out your card in irritation. You put your wallet and touched the sides of your neck as the heat swelled through you.
“I don’t understand--”
“Um, you should see this,” Zia said.
Zia turned her screen towards you and your heart dropped to your toes. There was a picture softened by a blush Insta filter and the caption read, ‘just got into town, surprising bae with flowers’. Over the cluster of petals at the bottom of the image were you and Zia sitting at the cafe patio.
You spun and searched around for any sign of the man and the bouquet. You could hardly breath as it felt like you were being squished between invisible walls. You clapped your hand against the wall and steadied yourself as Zia gently rubbed your arm.
“Let’s go to the station,” you croaked as tears welled in your eyes, “please.”
🖱️
The police told you everything you expected. Even as you showed them the photos and explained how you never met that man in your life, they only offered you words on a piece of paper. They’d file the report and follow-up in case of any further escalation. It was a non-answer, a cold shrug.
Zia went home with you as she offered to stay the night. You gladly accepted and the two of you cozied up on your bed and spent the night watching early 00s rom coms. You found it hard to relax even with her there. You couldn’t stop thinking about how close he’d been without you even knowing.
You at last began to doze off as Reese Witherspoon triumphed and exhausted by the endless maelstrom of dread, you slipped into a deep but perilous sleep. You were locked in limbo between waking and slumber, almost as if you could hear everything around you but remained blind and unknowing all the same.
You woke with a start as you felt like you were falling. You sat up and reached to the other side of the bed. Zia was gone. She must have got up to get water or use the bathroom. You took a breath and turned your legs over the edge. You got up groggily and lumbered across the room, your mouth dry and head aching. Some tylenol and water would do you well.
You hesitated as you noticed the bloom of light just around the corner from your doorway. Zia must be having trouble sleeping, you guessed as you kept on. As you came in sight of the front room, you heard a whimper and you backed up against the wall as tall figure stood before the coffee table. The flowers laid across the wood, slightly crumpled from a struggle.
As Zia whined, he jabbed her with his foot and she grunted around the rag tied around her mouth. Her arms and legs were bound behind her as the man loomed over her. You recognized his blond hair and glasses, the menacing blue eyes as he raised his chin and crossed his arms.
“Been waiting on you,” he stepped over her, “I was disappointed when I realised it was her. Good friend though, hanging around…”
“Don’t hurt her, please. What do you want?”
“You can’t figure that out?” he taunted, “huh, I’m sure you can guess what it will take for me to leave her in one piece.”
Zia wiggled and received another boot. You pushed yourself forward and he stepped closer, predatory as he dropped his arms and clenched then unclenched his fists. He chuckled as you stopped short and gaped up at him.
“She’s cute,” he said, “she can join us if that makes it easier for you.”
“You’re disgusting,” you snarled and winced as he reached out to touch your cheek. You fought not to shove him away, your eyes on Zia’s bound figure.
“Play nice and I will,” he warned, “every time I hurt her, that’s on you. I wish I didn’t have to do this to show you how much I love you.”
You shook your head as your lip trembled. He pressed his palms to your cheek and ran his thumb along your lips. He leaned in and you cowered as you realised how big he was. You didn’t expect that looking at him from the other side of a screen.
“Do we put on a show for her or did you want a little privacy?”
“You won’t get away with this,” you hissed.
“Oh yeah? I locked you out of your social media, your pc, your bank… do you really want to see how far I can take this?”
He smothered your murmured answer with his mouth and kissed you gruffly. He pulled away and looked you in the eye. He bit his lip and hummed.
“So, do we do this here?”
“You’re sick,” you grabbed his hand and wrenched it away from your face. You yanked him and directed him to the bedroom, “you monster.”
“Now come on,” he twisted his wrist around and grabbed your elbow, “I could’ve killed her. Don’t think I won’t.”
You quivered as he forced you back into your bedroom, the street lights casting shadows between your curtains. He flung you ahead of him, as strong as his thick arms would suggest. You stumbled and caught yourself on the side of the bed. You turned as the door slammed and he prowled towards you like a wild cat.
“Well,” he threw his hands up and you caught a glint of light against the lens of his glasses, “you want me to undress you or you think you can handle that, sweetie?”
You puffed in repulsion and looked away from him. Even in the dark, you could feel his eyes on you. You jittered as you reached to the neck of your loose tee and slowly raised it over your head. You dropped it to crumple on the floor and you touched the top of your shorts. You heard him moving around and shied away as he flipped the switch and light shone across the room.
You pushed down your shorts as you heard a thump from the next room. His jaw twitched as his eyes lingered on you and he reluctantly glanced away. He swung the door open and stormed out into the front room. You went to the door and heard his snarl.
“Stop fucking moving,” he rasped, “every time I have to tell you, I’ll pop another out.”
Zia gave a muffled sob as you heard a sickly crack and you hurried to look around the wall into the room. He blocked your sight with his broad chest and pointed you back to the room.
“I didn’t say you could leave the room,” he spun you and slapped your bare ass, “fast, fast, fast… before I lose my patience.”
Your skin stung from the strike and you tripped through the doorway as he followed quickly. Another slam and he poked you further into the room with his knuckle. You stepped away from him and tried to cover yourself as you faced him in horror.
He quickly swooped his shirt over his head and revealed a buff chest thick with blond hair. He kicked off his shoes and fumbled to undo his fly. He tilted his head as he looked you over and groped himself through his jeans.
“You know what to do,” he said, “I’ve seen the way you touch yourself… cyber security 101, cover your webcam.”
You shuddered as he beckoned you closer. He stopped you and put your hands on the waist of his jeans. He leaned in and nuzzled your temple as his hot breath seeped into your goosebumped skin.
“My turn,” he pushed on your hands until you pulled down the denim on your own strength.
He stepped out of his jeans and snapped the elastic of his boxers. You stood and latched onto those shakily. He ran his fingers along your arms as you pulled them past his erection and they fell to the floor with a whisper. You didn’t look down, instead staring past him as his hand swept up to cup your tits.
His fingers crawled up your chest and his hands wrapped around your neck. He squeezed and turned you so that your back was to the bed. He marched you backwards as you felt his dick bobbing between your bodies. You gasped as he pushed you down onto your mattress, your legs dangling over the edge as he came up to straddle you.
“Such a good girl,” he taunted, “look at you… I bet you’re wet already.”
He pulled a hand away and stroked his length as he raised himself on his knees. He clung to your neck as he leaned over you and planted his hand on the bed above you. He hovered his dick over your head and you closed your eyes.
“Put it in your mouth,” he ordered, “now, or I’m putting it in your ass.”
You reached up blindly and angled his tip against your lips. He dipped his hips down and you choked as he prodded at your throat. Your legs twitched as he forced his cock past your gag reflex and your whole body tensed at the intrusion.
He balanced on the hand above your head and the one on your neck. He thrust harder and harder as sloppy sucking reverberated around the room between his dark groans.
“That’s it,” he purred, “look at you taking my cock. I can only imagine how tight that cunt of yours is.”
Your eyes welled and you flicked your lashes as you tried to bat them away. You kept your hand at the base of his dick as you tried to ease his motion. He ignored your reluctance and only delved deeper as he brought himself to his limit, your lips touching the fuzz along his pelvis.
When you couldn’t breath, you slapped his hard stomach and he reared out of you abruptly. You coughed up spit as he sat back on his heels and released you. He huffed as he looked down at his glistening dick and climbed off of you.
“Stand up, turn around,” he snarled as his eyes flashed.
His glasses were low on his nose and he slipped them off entirely and folded them up on your night table. He squinted as he watched you stand and turn stiffly. He smacked his hand in the middle of your back and pushed you over impatiently. He stepped closer and tapped his tip against your cunt as you were exposed to him.
He bent his legs and poked along your slick folds. You were wet enough for him to glide in and fill you up completely. He was so big it was painful and you arched your back as you tried to take it. He pulled back and slammed into you harshly. You let out a garble and he repeated the motion, taking you off your feet.
He leaned over you and grabbed your knees, lifting them on the bed as he urged you forward. His hand brushed up over your ass and he pressed between your shoulder blades until your face was flush to the mattress, your arms bent around you like a broken doll.
He thrust again and the loud slap made you wince. He jerked his hips roughly until he found his motion, rutting into you with hissy breaths as his other hand groped your ass. He hummed as your body shook before him, ruled by his touch as your walls clenched him.
He pushed his thumb down between your cheeks and circled your asshole. You strained and lifted your head in alarm. His other hand quickly stretched over your crown and pinned your face to the bed. He felt along your cunt and slickened his thumb before trailing back to your puckered ring.
He pushed lightly at first and as he broke through you gasped and whined. You gripped the blankets as he moved his thumb in and out of you, his hips still rocking steadily into you. He slid his thumb out entirely and prodded with two fingers instead. Before you could react, he forced them inside and you cried out in surprise and pain.
“I know you want it, sweetheart,” he groaned, “I can feel…” he kept fucking you, “I can fucking hear it.”
Your holes tightened around you as he carried the pace. A new pressure began to bloom inside of you, unlike anything you’d felt before. The burning in your ass and the stretching of your cunt mingled to an agonized bliss. You sobbed into the blankets as you came uncontrollably around him, shamed by the unwanted release.
“Fuck,” he drew out the word as both his hand and his hips sped up, “look at you cumming for me. Cumming for this creep.”
You moaned and curled your fingers around the duvet tighter. You felt the same knotting deep inside and you came again as he reached a tantamount. This time, you gushed around his cock and felt the deluge down your thighs as the noise grew wetter and louder.
“Look at you, sweetheart, you can’t handle it, can you?” He snorted as he sucked in a breath suddenly and his hips staggered.
He pushed his fingers deeper and kept them there as he fucked you as hard as he could. He slammed into your cunt over and over. Your hips throbbed with each tilt of his pelvis and you smothered your cries as you felt him coat your walls in his release.
He stopped just as suddenly and dragged his fingers out of your ass. He leaned against you until your legs collapsed and fell onto you with a sigh. He covered your body with his as his shallow breaths hazed around you.
Your own heart raced as you stretched your arms out stiffly and quivered. You tried to pull yourself from beneath him. He kept you pinned under his weight and jolted you with a cruel thrust.
“Oh, we’re not done, sweetheart,” he muttered along the shell of your ear, “not even close.”

My home, my people beside me, and when I think of tomorrow there we are. I'll lead the way, I'll have my people to guide me. We'll build our future together, right where we are.
Moana (2016) screenshot redraws because even 5 years later this movie still gives me so many chills. Image description in alt text and below the cut !
[Image description: All images are rendered as close as the artist could get to the original, with the exception of characters, which the artist has drawn in their own style (visible thin lineart, cartoon style with relatively realistic proportions, a mix of cell and airbrush shading). Image 1: The scene just after Moana hands the heart of Te Fiti to the ocean, where Moana kneels on the edge of her wa'a kaulau (the Polynesian double-hulled canoe used by Moana throughout the film) and bows her head solemnly. The view is from side-on, with Moana and her kaulau taking up the right half of the shot. The water is dark, grey and still, and thick fog forms the background. Moana's hair falls over her shoulder as she leans forward. Image 2: The scene almost immediately following, during the song "I Am Moana." Moana holds onto the mast of her kaulau with one hand and leans out over the ocean, singing with joy and returned enthusiasm. Blue light from the spirits of her ancestors' own kaulau lights her and her torn sail from behind, and her hair blows in the wind. Image 3: The scene from the resolution of the movie, as the ocean parts for Moana to walk towards Te Kā. Large rocks litter the sandy ocean floor as Moana walks, lit in a soft orange as the sand reflects lights onto her. A wall of bright, clear blue sea water stands to Moana's side Image 4: Moana and the restored Te Fiti exchange a hongi, Moana pressing her forehead and nose against Te Fiti's much larger brow ridge, as Te Fiti holds Moana in her hands. Te Fiti is a giant Goddess of nature, her skin covered in grass, and her hair consisting of leaves, vines, branches and red flowers. Moana glows with green light, reflecting off Te Fiti's face. Image 5: A large, pink, orange and yellow conch shell sitting on the Motunui chieftains' pile of flat-top stones. The shell appears to glow in the warm light and cool blue shadows, in front of the bright blue of the reef, which drops into the deep blue of the further ocean. End ID.]

The last thing Jimin wanted to be was stuck in a meeting with men who still didn’t trust him with the company, despite his great efforts. He made sure to keep his demeanor hard— frigid— refusing to allow them to see him as weak. It took a toll on him, a large heavy weight on his mental health, but he wasn’t going to dwell on that now because he had you to help him carry the burden.
You.
You were wonderful in his eyes. Smart, beautiful, funny, but that mouth of yours often got you in trouble. You liked to push his buttons, liked to rile him up to see how far he’d go. You were a brat at heart, but a princess at any other time when it suited you. He lov—he liked that about you.
Ever since he had first met you, he’d been drawn to you. He wasn’t sure if it was your smile, your laugh, or the way your eyes caught his at the bar of some party he couldn’t even remember the occasion of. You smiled at him, excusing yourself from the man that had been chatting you up. Jimin paid him no mind as you strutted toward him, head held high and your drink clasped in your perfectly manicured hand.
You were stunning. A true vision in your red dress that hugged your body just right. Your makeup was spectacular and as he eyed you shamelessly, you giggled. He knew he was gone then, more so when you smiled brightly at him, hand held out for him to bring to his lips to kiss as you told him your name.
Jimin repeated it, as sweet as a lullaby. Your hand remained in his after introducing himself, not wanting to let you fall through his fingers. He was the envy of every man in attendance that night, but a quick romp in the sheets wasn’t what he was looking for, and frankly, neither were you.
After the night of the party, Jimin contacted you. He hadn’t been able to stop thinking of you, fantasizing about all the naughty things he’d like to do to you... if you’d let him. You were eager, a pawn in his hand, ready to bend at his whim… for compensation.
You were a sugar baby. And definitely not a new one. You knew your way around, knew your worth, and knew when someone just wasn’t going to pay up. But Jimin would. Of course he would. Companionship, sex, and a pretty face with a personality that drew him in, keeping him on his toes… what else could he want?
Now, although Jimin didn’t date or had the time to, honestly. He got laid pretty often, if he so desired. He’d had his share of flings, some lasting longer than others, but they all took off when he wouldn’t commit. He had no desire to, not when he had first taken over the company and not in the present either.
Jimin liked his life easy. Liked to spend time with his friends, do his hobbies (tennis, skydiving, swimming, and fucking) whenever he damned well pleased.
Loneliness did creep in. Lonely nights of tossing and turning in an empty penthouse with nobody to share it with. Those dark thoughts consuming him, calling him back to bed when there was work to be done.
He was tired of it. Tired of feeling lost and alone, carving a hole in him that his friends just couldn’t fill, despite their best efforts.
Easily, Jimin agreed to your terms. He’d spoil you rotten, absolutely rotten in exchange for your companionship and sex. He didn’t need a girlfriend, just someone who could act the part without the commitment; the jealousy. Someone to fill the hole in his chest.
Your affection and friendship came with a price tag and some other suitors, suitors Jimin paid you to disperse off. You had put a fight to keep them, but money talked and those other daddies walked.
Jimin had smirked, sitting beside you as you cut off all your other sugar daddies. Some confused, some enraged, and some asking if you were okay.
When he was your only daddy left, you’d smiled smugly. You’d crossed one leg over the other, ignoring the way your dress rode up your thighs, a peek of your panties drawing Jimin’s eyes as you said, “I expect the same from you. No other babies, no other women, just me.”
“You can’t be serious?” Jimin had gasped, his pouty lips in a frown.
“How bad do you want me?” You’d asked, crossing your arms under your chest to draw his attention to your breasts. Jimin had gulped, eyes wide as he licked his lips. You were a temptress, a seductress who knew how to play the game, and Jimin was at your mercy. He was your pawn and with your hand reaching for his belt, he knew he was doomed.
And doomed he was from the very start. He fell into the role very easily, thrived in it and still did. You were wonderful. A ray of sunshine in his otherwise gloomy days. He wasn’t sure how he lived before you; he was sure he didn’t. You were everything he could have ever wanted in a person and so much more, and when his friends loved you as well, he was set.
His baby.
You were his baby and he would take care of you in any way possible, not just financially. He had bought you cars, diamonds, vacations, clothes, iPads, cell phones. You named it; he bought it. All you had to do was send a link, a screenshot, or simply point to it before it was in your hands. The more he got to know you, the more he found caring about you, wanting nothing but your happiness. He didn’t understand what he was feeling, and he didn’t think he was ready to understand it, if he was honest. So, he suppressed his feelings and did what he did best; spoil you with materialistic items. If only he knew you wanted him, and not his gifts.
Jimin looked down at his shoes, concealing the smile that tugged on his lips at the thought of you. He carded a hand through his hair, forcing himself to pay attention as the dull voices wore on and on. Time couldn’t go fast enough as he daydreamed about you waiting in his bed when he eventually got home tonight.
It was the weekend. Maybe he could have you stay the night without you rushing out the door tomorrow morning. He liked when you stayed over, liked having you in his arms all night and being buried between your thighs in the morning.
Why were you consuming his thoughts like this? What kind of spell did you have him under? Recently he’d begun feeling… different around you.
Jimin hadn’t been jealous since you cut off your other sugar daddies. He wanted you for himself and only himself. Mostly because it would be safer (no condoms and you were on the pill), but also, he didn’t want to share you with anyone else. You felt the same way, although you’d never admit it to his face. You’d rather choke.
Lately, these feelings—whatever they were—had made his head spin. He didn’t want to feel more. The thought alone sent him into a panic. But… he also didn’t want to end things. Could he be lying to himself? Sure. Most definitely, as his friends constantly reminded him.
Feelings were dangerous. Feelings—especially one-sided—could cause the beautiful relationship you both had to crumble into smithereens. And then what would he have? Nothing. Not a damn thing if you weren’t in his life. He’d be lonely again. Miserable. A shell of a man like he was before he met you.
Jimin would not go back to that. Not ever. He refused! And so with that, he buried his feelings deep in his chest, under lock and key. And nobody, not even you, was going to let them out.
“Mr. Park? Are there any issues you’d like to address or perhaps some questions?” One of the board members asked. Jimin looked at his assistant, “did you get all that?”
At the nod of her head, Jimin responded, “No, we’re all done here. I’ll see you next week. Dismissed.”
Jimin rose from his seat at the head of the table, passing by everyone to go out the door before they even had a chance to blink. His assistant was hot on his heels, with barely an inch of distance between them.
“Marissa?” Jimin stopped, his assistant halting in her tracks just before an impact could occur.
“Yes, Mr. Park?”
“Is anything on my agenda time sensitive? I’m suddenly feeling ill and would like to go home.”
Marissa looks at her tablet, scrolling through the rest of the afternoon. The sun would set within the hour, and Jimin’s most pressing meetings and appointments had been conducted earlier in the day.
“You have a call scheduled with your father. He says it concerns your brother.” Marissa informs him. Jimin rolls his eyes.  He knew that phone call could drag on, and frankly, he didn’t care to know what his younger brother was up to.
“Reschedule for next week. I’m sure he can wait,” Jimin waves his hand, popping into his office to grab his belongings before announcing his departure. Marissa calls the driver, alerting him of Mr. Park’s departure, and Jimin smirks as the doors of his private elevator shut.
It felt good to be the boss.
Tumblr media
Jimin sat back in his limo, growing more inpatient as the minutes ticked by. You’d already sent him some racy photos, each growing more and more risqué until you were down to just your panties, back arched and fingers dangerously close to slipping into your panties.
‘I’m waiting, daddy.’
Jimin cursed, biting his lip as his building finally came into view. He wanted to devour you in kisses, consume every bit of you until you were writhing beneath him, hands pinned above your head as your pretty eyes locked with his.
“We’ve arrived, sir.” The driver stares down at his boss, who is just staring down at his phone, finally noticing his door has been opened and his driver is waiting for him to get out. Jimin immediately locks his phone, stuffing it into the pocket of his jacket before getting out.
“Thank you,” he says as he walks past him and into his building, greeting the doorman as he gets into the elevator. He swears it’s dragging today, but it could be his eagerness to get to you, knowing you’re waiting for him in his bed in nothing but a pair of flimsy panties is torturous.
Jimin rushes inside his penthouse, “Baby, I’m home.”
“I’m in here,” you call back as Jimin heads down the hallway, a smirk on his lips as he opens his bedroom door.
He bites his lip. You’re a vision. A true vision as you lie on his bed, a teasing smile on your lips.
“I missed you,” you say softly as Jimin walks further into his bedroom. His hand begins to loosen his tie as he kicks his shoes off, ignoring how they clatter on his bedroom floor.
“I’m sorry I kept you waiting, princess,” he apologizes as he climbs onto the bed and you get on your knees, crawling over to him.
“Really? Are you going to show me how sorry you are? I’ve been waiting such a long time, daddy. I almost had to take care of myself,” you pout, your hand tightening his tie, eyes hard. Jimin licks his lips, his hand wrapping around yours before he’s caressing your face.
“Is that so?” he asks, moving his hand to undo his tie. He holds the black silk in his hands, twining it as he looks at you, his eyes drawn to your bare breasts.
“Very. It’s not nice to keep me waiting,” you whisper as you inch closer, lips pressing a featherlight kiss to his neck. Jimin swallows thickly. You quickly work your way through the buttons of his shirt, untucking it from his black slacks. You push his jacket off his shoulders, letting it crumple on the floor.
Jimin raises a brow. You ignore it. Your lips are planting kisses on every inch of his neck, pushing his shirt down his arms. You feel his bicep, looking up at him with a grin before he’s pulling you to him. You gasp, your chest pressed against his as he threads his fingers in your hair to pull you into a deep passionate kiss that has you moaning into his lips.
“Jimin,” a sigh of his name has him grunting, eyes wild as he kisses you once again, pushing you onto your back. You giggle, loving how he sloppily kisses your face and neck.
“Jimin! Jimin!” you exclaim, giggles filling his bedroom as you look up at him. Jimin feels his heart skip a beat, cheeks tinted pink as he grins widely at you, “am I forgiven, princess?”
“If I say yes, will you stop slobbering on my face?” Jimin smirks, his hand wrapping around your throat, squeezing the sides. You gasp, moaning and melting under him.
“Open,” you do as instructed, sticking your tongue out for him. So obedient. Such a good girl for him.
Jimin releases your throat, a mischievous gleam in his dark eyes as he squeezes your cheeks. He spits on your tongue, releasing you, “swallow.”
You do.
“Fuck,” Jimin curses, carding a hand through his hair. You stick your tongue out again for him, watching as he undoes his belt, tossing it to the floor carelessly. He straddles your hips, leaning in to kiss you, his tongue twining with yours. He grinds down on you, swallowing the dulcet moans that escape you as your hands weave in his hair, tugging at the locks. Your hips meet his, feeling his erection with every roll of your hips. Your panties are soaked, utterly ruined as you beg him to touch you… to fuck you.
Jimin smirks, pressing a kiss to your kiss-swollen lips to silence you. His lips trail downward to your jaw, down to your neck where he nips and suckles at the sensitive skin as his hands cup your breast, thumbs circling your pert nipples before it’s his tongue swirling around them. Teeth gently nipping your nipple, your back arched into him as he palms himself over his slacks.
“Tell me,” Jimin starts as he rises, one hand palming his dick, the other kneading your breast. “What did you do while I was gone, doll?”
“N-nothing,” you answer honestly. Your body is heated, sweat beading at your hairline, thighs pressed together as your panties stick to you obscenely.
Jimin looks into your eyes, his hand moving over your chest. He can tell when you’re lying, having figured it out right from the start. Simple little tells: lack of eye contact, biting your lip and a racing heart.
Grinning, Jimin brushes his lips against yours, “good baby.” You preen at the praise, smiling bashfully before his hand is unbuttoning his pants, tugging the zipper down as he climbs off of you to pull his pants down the rest of the way. He takes a second to remove his socks, knowing you don’t like them on during sex.
Jimin shoots you a knowing smile as you sit up on your elbow, hungrily admiring his body. He was sin incarnate. Perfectly sculpted from his strong shoulders and neck down to his thighs that you just loved to ride until you were nothing but a creamy mess. The thought makes you clench, licking your lips as you crawl toward him, getting off the bed. Jimin eyes you curiously, slightly amused when you drop to your knees in front of him.
You look up at him, resting your weight on your heels as you lean back. Jimin can’t resist you, running his thumb over your lips.
“So pretty,” he whispers, hand cupping your cheek. You lean into his touch, feeling soft and secure. Warmth overwhelms you as you maintain eye contact, swallowing thickly. “So, so pretty.”
“Jimin,” you whine, your hand resting on his. You look at his cock, licking your lips. It’s straining against his boxers, pre-cum staining the material; it makes your mouth water. “Please?”
Jimin knows he’s putty in your hands, that look alone is enough for him to buy you the world, hell maybe the universe. How can he ever say no to you, his princess?
“Sure, baby.” That’s all you need to hear as your tongue laps at his boxers. Jimin is surprised but his fingers thread in your hair regardless, tugging gently as a warning not to tease. He’s been hard since this afternoon and the last thing he wants to be is teased. He aches to feel the warmth of your mouth wrapped around him, your nose pressed to his pelvis.
You tease the head of his cock through his boxers, earning a tug of your hair before you’re pulled back. Jimin’s heated gaze sends a tingle down your spine, “baby.”
A simple warning, one that has you pulsating as you lick your lips, hand reaching for the waistband of his boxers, tugging them down his muscular thighs before they pool at his feet and he kicks them away.
A curse escapes him when your lips wrap around him, your tongue swirling around the head as your hand strokes him. Jimin groans at the feeling. He could never grow tired of you.
Jimin caresses your face when you pause to look up at him, “so pretty.” You grow flustered, ignoring the way your cheek heat as you begin bobbing up and down instead, making him moan and groan instead of complimenting you. Your plan works, Jimin overcome by the pleasure your sweet lips provide as you suck harder, sloppier, gagging on his big thick cock, hoping your throat won’t get bruised once again. You didn’t want to go through that embarrassment at the dentist again.
“That’s it, baby. Fuck,” Jimin grunts, your name spilling from his lips as he tugs on your hair, guiding you and setting the pace. “You’re so pretty when you’re choking on my dick. So good for me.”
You deep throat him, loving the sinful sounds that tumble from his pretty lips. His head lolls back, eyes fluttering shut as utter bliss crosses his ethereal features. Moans of your name, curses, grunts, and praises escape his lips as he praises you to the high heavens as his cock sits heavy on your cock, lips sucking the soul out of him.
A whine falls from your lips when you’re tugged off his cock by your hair, your adorable confused gaze meeting his cocky one.
“Up,” he commands as you rise to your feet. He kisses you, his tongue meeting yours as you grip his biceps to hold your balance as he kisses you passionately. Arousal pools deep in your abdomen, body fueled with lust.
“Daddy, please.” Jimin chuckles, kissing his way to the column of your throat, nipping at the skin. A moan of his name rolls off your tongue as he wraps your legs around his waist to take you to his bed.
Jimin sets you down with care, having you lie back as he climbs over you. His lips brush against yours, a featherlight kiss that has butterflies fluttering in your tummy. His hand cups your face, saying nothing as he admires your body. You were aroused, panting and aching for him. Nobody else. Just Jimin.
The soft look you give him is what sends him over the edge, kissing you roughly as he holds you tight. Maybe… just maybe, you could love him. Love him the way he’d deny loving you. You were everything for him, but was he to you? He didn’t want to think about it right now, not when you were wet, ready, and his cock was throbbing, leaking pre-cum.
“Jimin…” your hand cups his cheek, his dark eyes flitting to yours.
God, he loved you.
“Please,” you whisper as your hand moves down to his neck and then his chest. Jimin swallows thickly, nodding as he takes your hand in his, fingers laced together as he pins it by your head, earning a gasp from your pretty lips.
With one last squeeze of your hand and fleeting kiss to your lips, he moves down your body. He wants to mark you as his, leave love-bites on your skin for the world to see but he resists if he wants to keep his plans for tomorrow.
Jimin’s fingers toy with the waistband of your panties, tugging them down to suck a tiny mark on your hip. You roll your eyes, but you love the slight possessiveness.
“I’m yours,” you assure him regardless. It works. Jimin presses a kiss on the mark, gently tugging your panties down your thighs, you lift your hips to aid him. He tosses them over his shoulder to be forgotten.
His hands immediately grab your thighs, spreading them.
“Fuck, so wet for me. All for me,” Jimin licks his lips, looking up at you. You resist the urge to cover your face as he kisses his way up your thigh until he’s pressing a gentle kiss to your clit. A sigh escapes you, making him smirk before he’s diving right in. Your hands seek purchase in his sheets, fisting them as he works wonders on your cunt.
“J-Jimin,” you stutter, hand embedded in his thick locks, hips rising from the bed to chase after his tongue. His hand pushes you back onto the mattress while he continues to feast on you, one leg thrown over his shoulder as his fingers slip right in, curling and scissoring inside you. His tongue flicks your clit, swirling in circles before his lips are suckling it.
You arch, crying out for him over and over again. Sweat beads between your brows, a sheen of sweat appearing on your body as you writhe beneath Jimin, wanting to crush his head between your thighs.
Jimin looks up at you, watching as pleasure overwhelms you, his fiery tongue the source of all your curses and pleas. Your hands cup your breasts, rolling your hard nipples between your fingertips as you cry out, “Jimin… Daddy… I can’t!”
Your body is overwhelmed with pleasure. Your skin is hot, flushed as you feel the knot in your stomach tighten before you cry out, “I’m coming! Fuck!”
Jimin doesn’t stop his ministrations, continuing as you fall over the edge. His name rolls off your tongue in a mantra, eyes squeezed shut and the sheets fisted in your hand once again as you arch your back. Jimin waits until you’ve fallen slack before he slips his fingers out of you, placing them in his mouth, tongue swirling around them as he sucks them clean.
“Feel good, princess?” Jimin asks, a smirk on his lips.
“Mmm,” you murmur, your eyes still closed as you try to regulate your breathing.
Jimin chuckles, “you good, love?”
“More than okay,” you answer, sitting up to crawl over to him until you’re straddling his lap. Jimin’s hands immediately grip your hips, your lips pressing against his. Your arms wrap around his neck, keeping him from going anywhere.
Jimin buries his face into your neck, kissing and nipping at the sensitive skin as you line him up at your entrance, sinking on to him when he least expects it.
“Baby, fuck,” he grunts, his forehead falling onto your shoulder as you hold him close while he finally bottoms out. You bite your lip, groaning at the stretch that has your eyes fluttering shut, nails digging into his perfect muscular back.
Hesitantly, Jimin looks at you. Three words sit heavy on his tongue as you stroke his face, biting your lip as you roll your hips. Your eyes flutter shut, your hand falling to his shoulder, moans of his name filling the space between your bodies.
“Y/n,” your name is a delicate whisper, his hold on you tightening, swallowing the heavy words instead. He kisses you, losing himself in you instead. Lust is easy, lust he can deal with. That’s all this is, he lies to himself once again as you ride him.
You hold Jimin close, fingers threaded in his hair, tugging it to make him meet your gaze, “you always fuck me so good, baby. So, so good.”
“This tight cunt is all I can think about at work. You’re such a fucking distraction but coming home to you waiting on my bed wet and horny is so worth it,” Jimin kisses you, tongue pushing past your lips before he’s rolling you over so he’s on top.
“Jimin,” you moan, his thrusts hitting all the right spots.
“On your knees, baby.” You do as you’re told, getting on your knees and arching perfectly for him. Jimin smacks your ass, mesmerized by the way it jiggles. He smacks it harder, your cry of his name making his cock throb in his hand as he strokes it before lining himself up at your entrance, grunting when the thick head of his cock is welcomed into your cunt.
“Fuck,” you curse, face in the pillow, turning your head to the side. Jimin grabs your arms, putting them behind your back, wrists crossed together as he holds them with one hand while he fucks into you. His head is thrown back, saccharine moans escaping him as you fuck back into him, moaning when his fingers rub at your clit.
“That’s it, baby girl. Fuck, you feel so good..” Jimin bites his bottom lip, a poor effort to try to muffle the moan that threatens to escape his pretty lips. His eyes roll back, overwhelmed by the warmth and wetness of your cunt. Your sweet moans fuel him, consume him as he pistons in and out of you to coax more of those dulcet moans from your lips. His hand moves to raise you, wrapping around your throat. Your eyes flutter shut, melting into his touch as he squeezes.
“Jimin,” you rasp, overcome with pleasure as he continues to rub at your clit. You shutter, your hand wrapping around his wrist, nails digging into his skin. Jimin grunts, kissing your cheek as he grinds his hips into you, slamming them when you cry out that you’re close.
“Come for me, princess. Please,” his angelic voice has you pulsating, doing as he’s asked as you grip his wrist and come. Jimin moans, lips planting kisses on your shoulder before he’s biting down and coming with you.
“Jimin… Jimin!”
“Oh, fuck. That’s it, love. Come for daddy,” Jimin moans, eyes shut and lips parted as he moans your name repeatedly, filling you with cum until you’re unable to hold yourself up. Jimin chuckles, lying you on your back on his bed before he lies beside you.
“Fuck,” you giggle, pushing your hair out of your eyes as Jimin takes the chance to kiss your sweat beaded forehead. You grimace, “gross, I’m sweaty.”
“I don’t care, princess.” Jimin covers your face in kisses, making you laugh until you’re pressing your palms on his chest to push him away.
“Jimin!” You squeal, kissing his cheek before cuddling up to his side. He kisses your temple, holding you for a few minutes before he’s pulling away from you to get you some water and lead you to the bathroom to help you get cleaned up.
You end up taking a quick shower, exchanging kisses and lingering touches before you’re wrapped up in a towel in his bedroom. You’ve brought your own clothes to sleep in, but you take one of Jimin’s baggy shirts instead, climbing into his bed while he puts on a pair of boxers.
“Go to sleep, baby. We’ve got plans tomorrow,” he tells you as you snuggle into your side of the bed, pulling the comforter up to your chest.
“Goodnight, Jimin.”
“Goodnight, princess.” Jimin whispers, caressing your cheek before you close your eyes. He watches you until he’s sure you’re asleep, hoping you can’t hear how loud his heart beats.
Tumblr media
The morning sunlight streams in through the cracks between the curtains, the light stirring Jimin awake. He sits up, rubbing at his eyes with his hands until all he can see is black dots before his eyesight settles once again.
Beside him, you’re still sleeping, clutching the pillow to your chest. He sits up, admiring the serene look on your face as you snooze away beside him, so comfortable, stress free.
Jimin’s heart thunders in his chest when you stir, rolling over and seeking out his hand with yours. He easily gives it to you, squeezing softly when you settle soundly.
As the world outside begins to wake, he can’t help but want to stay in this bubble the two of you have created in his home. Nobody to bother you, nobody hounding you to do this or that. Nobody to disturb your utopia.
Jimin caresses your face, his delicate touch makes you moan softly as his fingers push your hair out of your eyes. He stares at you freely, admiring your features. You were beautiful. The most beautiful woman he’d ever seen, and it still baffled him how you’d agreed to this arrangement. He knew he couldn’t give you more, and on days like today, he desperately wished he could. But what would that get him? Get you? A broken heart and the loss of his best friend? He couldn’t risk it. Wouldn’t risk it. Money was easy. Money came and went, but you stayed regardless if money appeared in your account at the end of the day. That scared him.  Why would you stay?
“If we’re having a staring contest, you gotta wake me up first, Minie.” Your voice startles him, his hand hastily pulling away from your face as you sit up. He hopes you can’t see the pinkness in his cheeks or the embarrassed smile on his lips.
“Way to ruin the moment,” he laughs, shaking his head, and your heart skips a beat when he gives you his radiant smile.
“I didn’t know there was a moment to ruin, baby. I’ll close my eyes and you can keep staring at me,” you giggle, rolling over and shutting your eyes. Jimin settles behind you, draping his arm over your waist before you wiggle into him.
“I hate you,” he jokes, kissing your temple.
“Mhm, your cock is way too hard for you to lie about that,” you smirk, wiggling further into him.
“Shh,” he chuckles deeply, kissing your cheek, moving your hair out of the way to kiss your neck.
“Show me how much you hate me, Min,” you goad him, turning to face him. Your eyes lock on his and Jimin can’t help but fall for you even more. He wonders if it’s obvious to you like everyone else? He wouldn’t dare admit it out loud, not to himself and certainly not to you. You were destined to fail, and who was he to stand in the way of destiny?
“Lie back, princess. Let me get a taste of you.”

Funnel Scripts Review – Write Pro Copy In Half The Time
Are you struggling to write great copy to sell your products?
Perhaps you’ve been blowing a brain cell trying to think of what to write in your email sequences that will captivate your audience?
You may have been spending a ton of money on ads only to avail in a measly amount of clicks?
Or maybe you’re trying to promote affiliate offers but people just aren’t clicking your links?
There’s no denying it, good copywriting skills is an essential part of building a successful online business.
Without it, you’ll likely make next to no money and eventually quit.
However, when you get it right then just a few small tweaks can make a huge difference.
For example, as a blogger, I was surprised the first time I made a tiny tweak to a headline by using the free Funnel Scripts headline generator and saw the impact it had on both clicks and sales.
If you’ve been trying to learn copywriting yourself then you’ll already realize it’s difficult and it takes a long time to master.
The common alternative is to pay a professional copywriter to write your copy for you. If you can afford it, that is; they’re pretty expensive.
However, professional copywriter Jim Edwards and his marketing buddy, Russell Brunson have created another alternative that they say is much quicker and more cost-effective.
It’s a push-button software program that can write your sales copy for you. They call it Funnel Scripts.
Since I recently purchased this product, today, I am going to be diving deep into exactly what it can do and whether or not you really need it for your business.
So, here in my Funnel Scripts review 2021 I will give you the lowdown on the complete software, including the free headline generator you can use to test it out before you buy.

Funnel Scripts Review: What Does It Do?
Funnel Scripts has been developed to give everyone the ability to quickly create professional-level sales copy without having to pay expensive copywriters to do it for you.
It works by using templates based on some of the best performing copywriting scripts in history and structuring them around the content you input that is specific to your market, audience and the products or services you are promoting.
Jim Edwards, the creator of the Funnel Scripts software, has included templates to enable you to create sales copy for a large number of reasons including, ad copy, landing pages, video, and written sales letter scripts, bullet scripts, headlines, email sequences, webinars and more.
Basically, you spend a few minutes inputting some data about your audience, product, the benefits and so forth, then press a button. Funnel Scripts will then generate multiple variations that you can choose from.
Who Is Funnel Scripts For?
Most businesses need to use some kind of sales copy. If you’re trying to sell your own products, promote offers as an affiliate, collect leads, you need to write ads or you need to email your subscribers then you will need to have some kind of copy.
As a blogger, I also realized that I can benefit a lot by improving the headlines of my posts.
Copywriting is a hard to learn skill and does not come naturally to most people. However, if you already have this skill then it’s probably not necessary for you to buy Funnel Scripts unless you just want a faster way of doing it.
If copywriting is something that gives you a headache, it’s a task that takes you hours without really knowing how effective it’s going to be or if you outsource it but pay a hefty price for it then Funnel Scripts will be a big benefit to you.

What I Like About Funnel Scripts
When you first buy Funnel Scripts and get inside the member’s area you will notice there is a huge amount of stuff in there for you to dive into.
There are several features I really like, but some of my favorites are the following:
Large Number of Scripts Available
Funnel Scripts is not just a headline generator; it’s not only used for writing ad copy; it can be used for much more than just creating your email sequences.
It is a very powerful program which, gives you the ability to create copy for any kind of purpose you could imagine.
Funnel Scripts Produces Good Quality Copy
When I first heard about Funnel Scripts, I must admit I was a little skeptical as to how good the copy it produces might be.
Many years ago I purchased a headline and sales page generator, but it was mediocre at best. However, that was around 2007 and fortunately, software has come a very long way since then.
I was more than pleasantly surprised to see that the quality of the copy produced by Funnel Scripts not only reads well, but it also keeps to the structure of professionally written copy that creates engagement.
You Can Create Copy Very Quickly
There are no two ways about it, Funnel Scripts is fast.
Compared to writing copy yourself or even outsourcing it to a professional and waiting for your copy to come back, Funnel Scripts can bash out your copy in minutes.
When you use one of the script generators, it will ask you to fill in some boxes with data about your product and target audience. Depending on the script you’re using this can take around 10-20 minutes.
Then, all you do is hit the build button and wham! Your copy is generated.
The copywriting script generators will produce a few different variations for you to choose from, all of which are fully editable by you if you need to.
Free Copywriting Training Included
If you’re using Funnel Scripts then you don’t need to learn copywriting yourself.
However, knowing a bit about the formulas of creating great copy and how it leads your audience to take the action you desire will help you to get even better results with the copy you generate.
I have always been interested in copywriting and the psychology behind it.
While I do now use Funnel Scripts myself, I am still interested in and fully intend to learn more about it to improve my skills in this area.
So I was pleased to see a number of training videos that are also in the member’s area if you do have the inclination to learn more about writing great copy.
Monthly Copywriting webinars
Creator, Jim Edwards, is really passionate and proactive about Funnel Scripts.
Since copywriting is a skill that is close to his heart and he wants his members to get the most out of using his product, he holds monthly training webinars that you can sign up for for free.
You can also watch the latest webinar replay in the member’s area if you can’t make it live.
Pimp My Funnel
If you want expert help with your sales copy, from Jim Edwards himself then you can apply to be featured in an episode of Funnel Scripts Tips, which are Jim’s copywriting tips webinars.
Since there’s so many users of the software it’s not guaranteed that you will get chosen. However, you can keep applying if you want to get his help directly. If you are chosen then it can make a huge difference to your business.
Extra Funnel Scripts Bonuses
When you buy Funnel Scripts you will also notice you get 4 extra bonuses in the member’s area. These bonuses are:
Bonus #1 – Inception Secrets
This is a training that marketer Russell Brunson gave to his inner circle a few years ago. He shows you how to be able to sell anything to anyone and make it seem like it’s their idea to buy from you. It will teach you how to plant the seeds of desire inside a person’s head so they will naturally want to buy your stuff.
Bonus #2 – 5 Fast Funnels
Here they give you access to the 5 most popular and commonly used funnel that you’ll likely need to use online.
Bonus #3 – Copywriting Secrets Master Class
This is a course Jim created to help people get high-impact results from their sales copy without having to hire a copywriter. He also teaches you some simple tweaks that can make a huge difference to your conversions.

What I Don’t Like About Funnel Scripts
Funnel Scripts Navigation Is a Bit Crowded
Since there’s so much inside the Funnel Scripts members area it can take you a while to get to grips with it.
Some of the features are hidden within other tabs, which can take you some time to find where everything is when you first use it.
It’s Quite Expensive
The sale price of $797 might be quite steep for a lot of small businesses and solopreneurs to shell out at one time.
However, if creating effective sales copy is a big part of your business then it will save you a lot of money over time not having to pay a professional copywriter, whose fees are usually very high.
Funnel Scripts: What Scripts Are Available?
In this section, I’ll share with you all the different kinds of scripts you can create and show you screenshots of each section so you’ll know exactly what you get with Funnel Scripts.
Not only are there quite a few different categories of scripts you can generate, but each category also has several different types of scripts. This is good so you can drill down to create exactly the right kind of script you need for the right channel you are promoting through.
While most scripts work directly from the dashboard, others are available to you form the dashboard as downloadable wizards.
Some of the most common scripts people use include:
Email scripts
Ad scripts
Headline scripts
Bullet scripts
Sales letter scripts
Video sales letter (VSL) scripts
Besides these, Funnel Scripts also has a ton more. Check out the full list of available scripts below.

Funnel Scripts Pricing
Funnel Scripts used to be a yearly subscription at $497 per year.
However, in 2019 the Funnel Scripts pricing changed to $797 for lifetime access.
While this is a fairly high price to pay initially, if you will need to write good sales copy in your business on an ongoing basis then this is a better deal than the original price of Funnel Scripts.
Basically, you need to consider how important it is to you and your business to write good copy before you buy Funnel Scripts.
For example, if you need to regularly write emails to your list, headlines for your blog posts, ads, and landing pages or if you’re regularly creating ads and need them to always perform well then it may be worth it to you to invest in the Funnel Scripts lifetime deal.
Whether you should buy Funnel Scripts or not will depend on several factors. You need to weigh up the following:
How often you will need to create copy
How much money would it cost you to outsource it to a professional copywriter
How much time would it cost you if you decide to learn copywriting yourself
How much might it cost you in both time and money to do it yourself through trial and error
Funnel Scripts Free Trial
When people hear about this software they often ask, is there a Funnel scripts free trial?
The answer is, Yes.
However, while there are a large number of scripts you can create with Funnel Scripts to make copy for all kinds of reasons, there is only the Funnel Scripts free headline generator that can be used on the free trial.
If, while you’re reading this Funnel Scripts review, you’re interested in taking this sales copy generator for a test-drive then you can try the Funnel Scripts headline generator for free here.
Personally, I would like to see a free trial of other scripts besides only the headline script. For example, I think it would be really helpful to also include an ad script and a bullet script trial so people can get a clearer picture of what Funnel Scripts can actually do before they purchase.
However, the headline generator script is a good tool and gives a reasonable insight into the Funnel Scripts software. Just be aware that the tool can do so much more than just create fancy headlines.
Funnel Scripts Webinar
Jim Edwards and Funnel Scripts co-founder, Russell Brunson created an hour-long copywriting webinar that teaches some important fundamentals of copywriting that marketers and entrepreneurs need to understand.
While, of course, this webinar does also promote the Funnel Scripts product, they show you everything the software can do, what you get when you invest and how to get all your copy from sales letters, webinar scripts, ads, and even email sequences written in under 10 minutes.
If you’re not interested to buy Funnel Scripts but you do want to learn more about copywriting then I still recommend you watch this webinar.
You can watch the Funnel Scripts webinar here.
Where Can You Buy Funnel Scripts?
The owners of Funnel Scripts would prefer you to first watch their free Funnel Scripts webinar and then move through their sales funnel. This way they can hook you in and sell you more stuff.
However, if you just want to buy Funnel Scripts without having to go through the sales funnel then here’s the back door where you can buy Funnel Scripts directly.
Funnel Scripts Pros and Cons
Like any product you buy, there will always be pros and cons. Here are the pros and cons of Funnel Scripts:
Funnel Scripts Pros
Instant access once you purchase
Easy to use
Instruction videos for each script
Many different script types for all kinds of marketing needs
Easy to use script generators
Data input fields allow you to customize scripts with your personality and to fit your audience
Multiple versions of each script generated to give you choice
Scripts can easily be edited
Example scripts included
Additional downloadable wizards for more complex script creation
Lots of training videos
Monthly webinars
Additional bonuses included
Funnel Scripts Cons
Some scripts take time to enter all your data into the input fields
Sometimes the script can be a bit generic – fortunately you can customize and edit the scripts as needed
It can take a while to get your head around all the different available features
Initial price can be high for some small business owners and solopreneurs (fortunately, this has been improved slightly since Funnel Scripts has now been made a one-time purchase)
Funnel Scripts: My Final Thoughts
When you buy Funnel Scripts you certainly get a lot for your money. There are a ton of scripts available inside the members area, and you also get access to a few downloadable wizards for more advanced scripts.
Russell and Jim have included scripts for all kinds of copy you might need to create.
While the initial price tag of $797 can be expensive for a lot of entrepreneurs, if you’re going to be using it regularly then, in my opinion, it is worth the investment as it can save you both time and money moving forward.
So now, the question is, do you and your business need it..? Only you can answer that question.
If you’ve not already tried the free headline generator, why not try it out to see what it can do.
If you want to have a more detailed look at the product that goes beyond this Funnel Scripts review, and see it live in action then I highly recommend you join the free copywriting webinar with Jim and Russell.

[Where My Twin Watches]: PMMM Rebellion - Part 6
Last time, we realized that Madokami was the brainwasher. So yeah.
Homura’s running off now, after shaking off the latest attempt to turn her into a Lotus Eater. (And I could go on and on about the pros and cons of Madokami’s actions here, but let’s try to finish this movie this year.) Labyrinth-Madoka’s left in the field, joined by the Incubator as she wonders what happened to Homura. So what’s the creature’s deal? It hasn’t said a word this entire movie, so I don’t know if it’s just a construct of the Labyrinth like Madoka or a ‘guard’ like Sayaka ACK sudden closeup of its eye yup it’s involved. Hey, it’s the arcade! Kyoko’s getting a phonecall, after what was clearly a necessary shot of her pockets, she answers her cell gaaaah the juxtaposition of the normal arcade and all these Labyrinth figures is so friggen creepy. Homura’s calling to ask if she remembers the Witches, doesn’t appear Food Girl’s completely woken up yet as she doesn’t. Also, “Dog Drug Reinforcement”? Is that supposed to be a pun on ooooooh DDR, I get it.
Tumblr media
So yeah, Kyoko’s still in the system. Doesn’t remember the Witches, and she only knows this Labyrinth version of Madoka. It sounds crazy, but listen to the hair-flipping girl, Kyoko. Point: In order to make a world where Madoka exists, it would have to be someone who knows about Madoka. At the end of the show Kyoko and Mami had no memories of her, so out of the original Madokrew that leaves Homura (who lived with the memories), Sayaka (who went to work for Madokami), and Madoka-turned-Madokami herself. [Homura]: “Now I understand. I know who rewrote our memories-” ? Homura? Why did you just put your Soul Gem down? “-and then locked us in this false Mitakihara City.” Homura? What are you doing? Kyoko’s starting to freak out over what Homura is saying, asking where she is right now. She runs outside FLAMING BLIMPS FROM THE SKY! Ok, so it seems the Labyrinth is dropping pretenses now, with Homura waking up there’s no point with subtlety. Homura’s on the bus now. Where is she going? Why is the music getting louder? Why is she leaving her Soul Gem at the station? I mean, isn’t there a distance limit to control her body? What’s the poi Wait What Are you kidding me [Homura]: “There’s just one last thing I want to confirm.” But what how why is she how could WHAT “After that, I will end everything. And I will not trouble you.” … Ok, so this is confirmation is either going to be the equivalent of MG Suicide (purposefully separating herself from her Soul Gem, we’ve only seen a very short period where Sayaka was separated from hers and she didn’t seem to note anything odd, will Homura be conscious?), or… Homura apologizes to Kyoko for getting her involved. And hangs up, throws her phone away. The bus leaves, seats filled with clocks ticking. [Homura]: “The limit that my body can still move after separating from my Soul Gem should be 100 meters at most.” The bus stop has faded into the distance. Pretty sure she’s now past that mark. Bells are chiming. Owls are landing. The bus is on fire. And the truth is revealed. -Magical Girls cannot function beyond 100 meters from their Soul Gems -Homura is now over 100 meters from her Soul Gem -Homura is not a Magical Girl -Homura is… Creepy children chanting as the Flaming Blimps shatter the landscape. Because that Labyrinth was focused on Magical Girl Homura. This Labyrinth is focused on her true nature. As Witch-Homura. … WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE WHY HOW HOW HOW DID HOMURA BECOME A WITCH [Homura]: “In other words, this means I’m not even a magical girl anymore?” She pulls a pistol, destroys the proven-useless piece of jewelry. Kneeling, backed by flames, flanked by the creepy Goth Children. Her Familiars. “Why? Why? Why would I end up as…? When did it even happen? When did I become a Witch?!” WHY AND WHEN INDEED Ok, ok. Calm down, Ranubis. Deep breaths. Right, so somehow, at some point, Homura gave into despair, used up her power. Frustration at being the only one living with the memories? Anger at being left behind? Stubbed her toe? Whatever happened, happened. Madokami’s deal is that she goes around grabbing MGs before they give into despair, takes them into the MG Afterlife. So… is this that, then? Does she take the girls before they become Witches, and put them in Labyrinths designed to keep them happy? Their own little slice of heaven? It checks out, this is, or rather was a world where Homura was happy. But just as she kept her memories while alive, it seems she got them back in this new Labyrinth, in the worst possible fashion. Yikes, no black and white morality here, is there? On the one hand Homura really was happy in her designed Labyrinth. But on the other hand she wasn’t given all the details, and now that lack of communication is coming back to bite everyone. And now there’s some sort of arc over the flaming ruins of Fake Mitakihara City. And an image of Madokami’s picture begins to run. Some of the Familiars are kicking a spool of thread, they pass… the Incubator? ...wait, hold on. [Incubator]: “I’m sure you didn’t really want to know the truth.” The Incubator is talking. What...did… “And yet, you couldn’t bear not to search for it. It just goes to show how illogical human curiosity is.” So… you’re not taking any blame for letting things fall apart this badly then? [Incubator]: “Well, considering that it was you, I did think that you would find the answer eventually, Homura Akemi.” [Homura]: “Incubator. In the end, just as I thought, it’s your doing, isn’t it?” ...well, kinda. I mean it’s working for Madokami. But in general in the show, it was a sound practice to blame Bunnycat for anything going wrong. (After I spent nearly the entire show blaming you, sorry about that.) Huh. Gotta say, I like Homura’s outfit right here. Fancy. I’ve got a few more questions beyond the location of Homura’s life and soul, Incubator, but I’ll take those too. Thank you so kindly for deigning to answer them. Static? Homura sleeping, holding a staff? Ah, an image of outside the Labyrinth! But hold on, how is she outside the Labyrinth, is she projecting into it? WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT [Incubator]: “The Isolation Field we invented is completely enveloping your Soul Gem. We wanted to see what would happen when a Soul Gem that was already pushed to its limit was put in an environment that was isolated from all external influence.” An… experiment? But why would Madokami be experimenting on Soul Gems? Especially in such a creepy environment. She wouldn’t need to. The only one who benefits from such experiments Is The Incubator my Madokami I’m an idiot, did I learn nothing from the show, we’ve had close to a half-dozen closeups to “cute little Kyubey’s” mug in this movie, how could I just write off No. 1 on my List The Incubator isn’t working for Madokami after all. It’s doing what it was always doing, trying to maximize short-term gains from Soul Gems despite morals and sensible logic. The Incubator, or the rest of its race given the “we” comments, “wanted to know the results of a Soul Gem cut off from the Law of the Cycle”. I’m sorry, but I believe you were criticizing human curiosity barely a minute ago. Do… do you really realize how much of a hypocrite you are being right now. So yeah. This isn’t the work of a Cannibal!Witch, or an earnest attempt by Madokami to make Homura happy. This is, once again, Bunnycat being a Dick. Yep, either the Incubator’s using multiples of its body in this ‘experiment’, or we’re seeing multiple members of its race. Messing around with Labyrinths, working off of the descriptions of the Old World given by Homura. The results leave Homura as a semi-Witch, “like a chick that wasn’t able to break its shell and grew up within it instead.” That resulted in an Internal Labyrinth, one that she re-created an entire town inside of. All inside her Isolated Soul Gem. ...well THAT was a creepy shot, the Incubator backlit by a Flaming Blimp. brb taking screenshot.
Tumblr media
Homura raises an argument: If the Laybrinth is Isolated, then it should be impossible for people to wander into it. But the Incubator, or rather Incubators, say they made an adjustment, making the isolation only work in one direction. So it’s not Isolated, but Semi-Permeable? Others pass through by means of an “invitation”. As the Witch of the Labyrinth, Homura unconsciously chose Mami, Kyoko, Hitomi and Kyosuke, pulling them in. And Madokami… could only enter as Madoka? Son of a bitch. This isn’t just an Incubator experiment to recreate Witches. It’s a trap for Madokami. The incubators have identified several people in the Labyrinth that don’t exist (anymore) in the Real World, but still participate. They have identified Madoka, someone who slipped into her world without causing any disturbance. But Wait hold on. So they now know Madoka is the Law of Cycles that’s keeping away their oh-so-”efficient” emergy gathering through Witches. But somehow, even though this is the Real Madoka in the Labyrinth she’s not displaying any power? What, did Madokami just send a portion to try and help out or what. Wait, WHAT?! You’re saying that when Witch-Homura pulls people in she rewrites their memories, and it affected Madoka as well? “She not only forgot that she had come to save you, but lost sight of who she really was and her power as well.” ...music is picking up and the Familiars are on the march. Something’s coming up, but I think I have to stop here for work. So. The real villain is the Incubators. They are experimenting with Witchification, captured Homura. Homura’s Labyrinth is pulling in people, wiping their memories. Madokami has tried to help her, but lost her memories and thus power entering? (What about Sayaka?) ...well how the hell are we gonna fix this?! Something’s gotta happen, but I can’t think of it. I mean, we’re back in Episode 11 territory here. Homura’s up against the combined power of the Incubator race, trapped in their twisted experiment to try and recreate Witches and to trap the Law of the Cycle. Such a trap even that when friggen Madokami tried to intervene she ended up mindwiped and depowered. So what the hell can we do now? I’m wracking my brain here, but can’t think of anything. Then again, I got out minmaxed by the pink-haired Middle Schooler last time, so here’s hoping there’s still a trick or two up her frilly sleeves.

  The night of the fire:
    “Maybe you should call Derek.” My best friend Crystal suggested, her voice so soft that I could barely hear her over the sounds of her fighting parents. I nodded and quickly picked up Laura’s cell phone, punching in Derek’s number before putting it to my ear. As I knew he would, he picked up on the second ring, the sound of the party going on behind him muffled as he shouted to be heard.
   “Hold on, I can’t hear a thing.” He shouted, his voice filled with annoyance and concern. It was easy for me to imagine the concern on his face as he shoved his way through the packed crowd, ignoring the grunts of pain and the shouted protest. Laura must have been in his line of sight because he shouted her name and then I could imagine her beautiful features turning from happy to concern, as she too began to push herself towards our brother.
  “Y/n?” She asked, her voice muffled along with the rest of the party. I could only make it out because I knew it well, had been straining to hear it along side Derek’s. Derek never answered, but I knew he must have nodded because Laura cursed. In my mind eye I could see Laura pushing herself in front of Derek, one hand grabbing a hold of Derek’s sleeve while she cleared a path in the crowd. I could see her face, concern momentarily replaced with annoyance as she shoved aside the party people. I could see Derek, one hand gripping the cell phone to his ear, afraid to drop it among the crowd.
    I knew that they had finally made their way outside before Derek had ever spoke, simply because of the fact that the muffled voices and music finally dropped to a volume that would allow my siblings to hear me.
  “Alright, now what is going on?” Derek asked, Laura’s voice quickly joining his,
 “Is that screaming? Kitten is everything okay?”
  “No. Crystal’s parents are fighting and they drunk can you...” I trailed off, staring wide eyed at the door. Things down below had gotten worse. There was the sound of breaking glass and then the steady dripping of blood, the scent of it hitting me seconds after. It was the difference in her mother’s heart rate that told me things were about to get even worse. In the seconds since the glass broke, her mother was suddenly filled with fear. “Derek it’s gotten worse, a lot worse, how soon can you get here? I think things are about to get dangerous.”  As I spoke Crystal lost the little colour  that she had before she shoved herself off the bed, grabbed my hand and tugged me to the bathroom that was attached to her room.
  “I’m on my way, Y/n don’t worry. Here talk to Laura.” Derek replied, his voice suddenly full of anger. I knew that he was going to run here and the fact filled me with some comfort. He would be here soon and Laura would arrive not to long after. I was going to be okay.
  “Kitten? Stay calm okay, Derek and I are on our way. Everything is going to be okay.” Laura promised, her voice soft and calming, though I knew it was only for my benefit. We had always known that Crystal’s parents were drunks, which is why whenever Crystal and I had  sleepovers it was at my house, never her’s. Tonight was a first, and was only because her parents had promised my mother that since it was Crystal’s birthday and we would be leaving early the next morning, that they wouldn’t drink. Derek and Laura were still against it, hence why they were at a part a few blocks away. Laura didn’t trust them and Derek was against anything that may put me in danger.
  The sounds of skin meeting skin, pulled me from my thoughts. I knew Crystal couldn’t here it, hear the change in her mother’s voice as her fear aloud her to be sober, sober enough that she began to move to the stairs. I knew she couldn’t hear the slur in her father’s voice as he told her to move, to let him up stairs but I could and it was enough for me to grab her and lead us to the tub, climbing in and pushing her to the far end, moving so I was in front her.
  “Laura I think we may be in danger.” I whispered, my own fear causing my inner wolf to come out. I didn’t try to hide it, Crystal knew and loved me regardless of the fact. The sight of my nails turning into claws only her caused her to pull me against her, her own way of trying to keep me safe.
  “Derek is close and I’ll be there seconds after. Everything is going to be okay. Listen try to track Derek like I’ve been teaching you. Close your eyes, relax and focus on Derek. Can you hear him?” I did as she told me and focused, forcing myself to breathe deeply as I tried to find my brother. It didn’t take me long, it was only a few seconds before I could hear his breathing, his heartbeat and the soft whisper of my name. Now that I could hear him, I could tell he was close, only two houses down and quickly closing the distance.
  “He’s next door.” I whispered, relief washing over me when I heard him. Even as I spoke though the front door flew open and the familiar scent of my brother hit me. “He’s here.” I sighed, reaching back to grab Crystal before leading us out of the bathroom. As I moved, I listened to Derek, his low snarl when he saw Crystal’s parents, his growl when he heard me open the door to Crystal’s room and began racing down the hall. At the bottom of the stairs was her mother, her long blonde hair a mess as she guarded the stairs. At the sound of our footsteps she turned her head, her gaze meeting mine. Her face was filled with relief and shame and blood, blood that was still flowing from the gash on her forehead.
  In Front of her, standing shell shocked at the sudden appearance of my pissed off older brother, was her father. A broken bottle was in his hand, the sharp edges covered in blood. I knew at once that was the cause of the cut and could suddenly see the how it happened. Her father breaking it on his wife’s head, the gagged ends cutting into her skin. I also knew that it was adrenaline that kept her mother standing. Fear for herself and for us propelling her to stand up.
  Behind him, anger radiating off him in waves, was my brother. The door stood open, allowing me to see Laura as she pulled up in front of the house. Not bothering to turn off the car before she ran to join us. Before Laura had reached him, Derek was crossing the room, pushing her father up against the wall, one arm pressed against his neck and the other pinning the hand holding the bottle against the wall.
  “Y/n take Crystal and go to Laura.” He demanded, his voice shaking with rage. I nodded, gripping Crystal tight before rushing past her mother and into my sister’s open arms.
  “Thank god you're okay, when you stopped answering me I fear the worse.” Laura sighed the moment I reached her, her arms holding both Crystal and I tightly against her.
  “Sorry I heard Derek reach the house and I just wanted to get out.” I mumbled , allowing her to pull me away so she could lead Crystal and I to the car.
  “It’s okay, I knew Derek was here so I knew you were safe. It was Crystal I was worried about.” Laura explained, turning to face my best friend, her voice soft as she spoke. “Are you okay?”
  “Just a little shaken. Dad never hurt mom before.” She explained, glancing over her shoulder when the sounds of footsteps came from behind us. When she saw it was Derek, the fear left her. He didn’t say a word, simply scooped me into his arms and held me tight against his chest.
  “You okay?” He asked, pressing a kiss to my temple. I nodded, laying my head against his shoulder. Now that I was safe, I realized just how tired I was and tried hard to stifle a yawn. “You sleep, I got you.” He said softly, stepped aside as Laura opened the door. I had expected him to just  put me in the back, but instead he kept me in his grasp and slipped in behind the driver's seat, moving me so I was pressed against his side. I instantly curled against his side, my head resting on his chest as he his arm began to rub my arm in comforting circles.
  Crystal got in on the other side, pressing herself against my side as she too allowed herself to relax enough to doze. At once I reached out and grabbed her hand, turning to send her a comforting smile as Laura crawled into the front seat of the car. She had just began to drive when I found myself struggling to stay awake, the rhythm of the of car and Derek’s steady breathing lulling me to sleep.
   I awoke to Laura screaming, to Derek cursing as he told us  to stay in the car, the smell of smoke suddenly filling the car as he jumped outside. At once I was awake and sat up in the car, a scream of my own leaving me when I noticed that we were home but my house was on fire. Flames licked the whole house, but the worst of it was in the basement. That’s where the most of the smoke and flames were coming through.
  “Laura is.. are...” I stumbled, trying hard to force some sort of words through my mouth. Laura remained silent, her gaze locked on the burning house in front of us. Beside me Crystal moaned out softly, her arms wrapped around me as she began to apologize, her words making me realize that this was happening, that my house was not only in the midst of burning down but that the soft moans and whimpers I could hear was my family. My family that were trapped inside, that were dying in flames.
    Derek returned to the car, tears streaming down his face as he closed the door. I knew then that there nothing to be done, that our family was trapped and to try and save them would only put as risk. At once I curled into his side, watching as Laura got out of the car and climbed in beside Derek, curling into his side.
   “The cops are the way. They told us to wait in the car.” He answered, hugging us both to his side. Despite the fact that Laura was older, she clung tightly to Derek, finding comfort in his arms. Once we were settled Laura began to sing, some upbeat song loud enough to drown out the screams of our family.
    The cops showed up a few moments later, the fire department following quickly behind them. It took 20 minutes to put out the flames and then another 30 to extract the charred remains of our family. Only our Uncle managed to survive the flames, though he was so badly scarred my siblings forced to me to look anywhere but at uncle Peter.
   We stayed in Beacon Hills just long enough to bury our family and see Uncle Peter settled in the hospital before we left, all three of eager to put the town behind us.
 Six Years Later
          I sat on the small couch in the apartment I shared with Derek, my leg vibrating with nerves as I stared at the phone. Laura was suppose to call, just to check in, to assure both Derek and I that she was fine. She back in Beacon Hills, despite our protests, following an alpha that was killing people. Being an Alpha herself, she assumed she could deal with it. That was almost a month ago and she called daily, up until two days ago. Derek was trying his best to act like he wasn’t bothered but I knew he was just as worried as I was. I also knew that if we didn’t hear from her tonight then we would be returning to Beacon Hills ourselves.
    “Staring at it won’t do anything.” Derek said softly, sighing as he sat down beside me. When I didn’t answer, he pulled me against him, holding my head to his chest as his other arm rubbed circles on my back. “It’s okay, Laura is okay.”
   “What if she isn’t though?” I whimpered, closing my eyes as I thought back to the time we lived in Beacon Hills. There were hunters then, the Argents mostly, but there. My family tried hard to keep it from me but when I demanded the truth it was Derek who told me, claiming that it would be better for me to know so I can keep an eye out. Rumors are that the Argent’s left shortly after the three of us did, but that was only rumors. They could still be there, especially now, and with Laura being alone her chances of being caught are greater.
   “She’s an alpha to darling, she’ll be okay.” He answered, pressing a kiss to the top of my head. “Now come on, we are going out. Laura will call and she won’t do it any sooner with you staring at the phone.” I sighed, not wanting to leave the house on the off chance our sister arrived but I knew had no choice. Derek would physically carry me out if he thought it was needed.
~~~~~~ The Next Day~~~~~~
    I sighed as we passed the sign that welcome us to Beacon Hills, far from pleased at the idea of being back. Beside me Derek let out a small groan himself, his only signalling that he too was displeased about having to return. To much horrible things have happened here and the idea of returning set us both on edge. Laura being missing didn’t help either.
   “Okay Laura, we are in Beacon Hills, if you could answer the phone now Der and I would appreciate it.” I told the answering machine, a part of me wondering how many more messages I would be aloud to leave before I got told that the mailbox was full. This was my fifth one, though Derek had left three himself, all of them demanding her to answer because he didn’t want to bring me to Beacon Hills. “We are going to the house aren’t we.” I asked as I hung up the phone, placing it on my lap and continuing to stare at it, willing it to ring.
   “That’s were Laura would have gone first. The murders are somehow connected, she was sure of it. It will only be for a few nights. I plan on getting a loft just outside of town for us to stay in.” Derek explained, smiling sadly at me when he noticed me biting my lip. “I can get you a motel room and you can stay there until I get the loft.”
   “No, it’s safer for us both to stay together. I’ll manage.” I answered, forcing a brave smile for his sake. Derek nodded, moving one hand from the wheel to hold mine, squeezing tightly as we rounded the corner that would lead us to our house.
    “Alright but remember if we run into the Alpha..”
   “I’m to run to the car and drive as fast as I can out of town. I know.” I huffed, smiling as I cut him off, clinging to the normal of it. Derek smiled to, his hand still holding mine. I kept my eyes on him, the tightening of his hand informing me that we had arrived. Closing my eyes I took a deep breath and turned to what use to be our family home.
    We found the top of Laura later that night, or I should I found her. For the sake of covering ground Derek and I had split up, though we both remained on the phone as we carefully walked the woods that surrounded our house. Laura was in the middle of it, the upper half of her body left under a tree. I didn’t stop screaming until Derek arrived and only then it was because he shook me out of it, telling me that we had to bury her. I insisted by the house and he relented, burying her at the corner of the house, ironically a few inches away from the basement window our family had been trapped in. As he made a spiral of wolfsbane covered rope, I made a silent promise to my sister. That I would kill the monster that did this to her myself and that I would make sure they suffered just as much as she did.
Microsoft Office 2019 for Mac 16.23 VL [Multilingual]
Office 2019 for Mac is designed from scratch to take advantage of the latest features of Mac, including Retina display support full – screen view and even bounce displacement.
It is the perfect combination of Office that you know and you trust, and the Mac you love. Microsoft Office 2019 is the latest iteration of the industry-standard office suit.
Microsoft Office 2019 includes the latest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Exchange, SharePoint and Skype for Business, each of which is an essential tool in the computerised office workplace of today.
It also boasts a range of enhanced IT options that are designed to make life easier for newcomers to the field. Make no mistake: this is a versatile set of tools and no office should be without it.
What is Office 2019?
Microsoft Office 2019 is a standalone, local (not cloud-based, like Office 365) version of the Microsoft Office software suite. It is a “perpetual” release, which is just a fancy way of saying you buy the software once and own it forever, rather than having to pay an annual subscription fee to access it.
That said, you only get a license to use it on a single PC, whereas a subscription to Office 365 lets you use it on a PC, a tablet, and a smartphone.
This new release updates and replaces the 2016 versions of Word, Excel, etc. and includes many of the new features that have been rolled out to Office 365 users over the past three years. We’ll get to those in a bit.
When is Office 2019 available, and how much will it cost?
Office 2019 is on sale now, but only for commercial-level customers. Availability will be rolling out regular ol’ customers like you and me in the coming weeks. That also means we don’t yet know what the price point is for individual users, but Microsoft will likely have that info soon.
Expect to potentially pay a bit more than what you’d shell out for Office 2016 (currently $150 for the “Home and Student” version), as Microsoft already boosted the price of the commercial version ten percent to account for its “significant value added to the product over time.”
What are the system requirements for Office 2019?
Here’s a big change. On PCs, you’ll need Windows 10 for Office 2019; Microsoft will not support any versions of Windows 7 or 8. As always, Microsoft will make 32 and 64-bit versions of Office 2019 available.
Whether you’re at home, in the office, or on the move, you can take it all with you wherever you go while sharing and collaborating with others. It’s great for school assignments, work projects, travel plans, party planning, and more.
Outlook
Like Word, Outlook is also getting a new focus mode, called the “Focused Inbox,” to help streamline workflow and email drafting. Users can now use “@” commands for tagging people in emails, and contact cards have been overhauled.
Also, PC users will now have travel and delivery cards, while Mac users get new email templates; a Send Later function for scheduling delivery times; and read receipts. Both platforms also get Office 365 Group integration.
PowerPoint
The changes for PowerPoint are all about enhanced media and visual element support in presentations.
The notable additions here are support for 3D model display/manipulation and SVG files on slides; new morph transitions; the ability to export your presentation in 4K UHD video format, and you can now write by hand and move elements with your pencil while editing.
Better pencil support and other tweaks
In addition to these program-specific updates, there are also changes that apply to all Office 2019 software.
The most important of these is Microsoft’s beefed-up support for digital pencils, like expanded “roaming pencil case” support, which lets users write by hand and move parts of documents with their pencil, as well as new support for pressure sensitivity and tilt recognition.
Office 2019 also comes with some behind-the-scenes changes such as monthly security updates and a reduction to network bandwidth use.
Will Office 2019 replace Office 365?
No. In a post announcing the software release, Microsoft makes sure to point out that Office 2019 is a standalone package of its software geared primarily towards private users and businesses who do not have the necessary internet access required to use the cloud-based Office 365.
Because of this, many of the features present in the Office 365 versions of these apps are not included in their Office 2019 counterparts, especially cloud-based and collaborative features.
Furthermore, Microsoft makes it clear that while Office 2019 will be receiving regular security fixes, it will not be getting expanded feature updates, while Office 365 users can still look forward to new and updated features through regular monthly updates just as they always have.
The bottom line here is that Office 2019 is not going to replace Office 365, and it really isn’t meant to. That said, regardless of the particular use case, Office 2019 still fills a crucial role and services a section of Microsoft’s customer base that may have felt a bit neglected since Office 365 took the spotlight.
Lady Bird & Adult Teenage Angst
Tumblr media
I slip through the double doors and immediately recognize the movie has already started. With a small Diet Coke and Sprite in either hand, I crab-walk a few feet to the seat my friend had saved in the back of the theater and sit down in a folding chair against the back wall because this is the small cheap theater, and the price you pay for a movie ticket under $15 in Los Angeles in 2017.
“She’s mad at her mom. She broke her arm trying to get out of the car,” my friend tries to catch me up in whispers as she takes the Sprite from my hand.
“Wait, how long has the movie been going?” I ask slightly panicky, gulping my Diet Coke.
“Like ten minutes.”
“I thought it started at 7:45.”
“No, 7:20.”
“I thought you were going to get to the theater at 7:20.”
“No. I sent you a screenshot of the times!”
“You did. I must have been looking at a different movie. Were there good previews?”
“There weren’t any.”
I feel good about that at least.
I spend the next fifteen minutes trying to put contextual pieces together as we’re introduced to Lady Bird, her friends, and her what I assume to be relatable Catholic school idiosyncracies.
I lean over to my friend again, “What year does this take place? Early 2000s?” I haven’t done much research on the movie. I already know I’ll like it because I like Greta Gerwig, coming of age stories, and everyone on Facebook says they love it too.
“2002,” she says.
“Yep, that makes sense.”
“How did you know? Was it the puka shells?”
“It was one-hundred percent the puka shells,” I reply and we both giggle.
A few moments later I lean over, "2002 was fifteen years ago.”
We stop giggling.
This is the first major, mainstream piece of art that reflects my high school experience back at me with enough time to have perspective. Almost half of my life has passed since I was the same age as Lady Bird in 2002 and that is kind of trippy.
Am I really that old? In the grand scheme of things, no. But, Greta Gerwig making this movie, and then watching it in a theater packed with fellow early 30-somethings laughing at the same cultural references of having a cell phone “just for emergencies,” and earnestly loving Dave Matthews Band’s “Crash” certainly felt like a watershed moment.
You know you’re getting older when you start to emotionally connect with the parents’ storylines more than the kids. In this case, with the film being set during my exact senior year, I felt them both equally. There’s a lot to unpack in being forced to reflect on the simultaneous freedom and frustration of being in this stage of life –– a youngish adult.
There are complicated feelings in being both thankful you never have to experience the overwhelming ennui of being a teen, but also such a deep sadness that you’ll never get to experience the ennui of being a teen again.
Four years ago, my ten-year high school reunion came and went unceremoniously without my attendance. What a perfect and rare opportunity to dip back into that time. But, ultimately, it felt unnecessary and less exciting with Facebook; conversations less about discovering juicy gossip and more confirming what you already knew from status updates. Or maybe I didn’t go because growing up makes me sad in a way that it doesn’t for others. I’ve built an entire blog and online persona around this sadness for the better part of a decade.
What makes me so sad? Is it the passage of time? The smile lines? All the firsts so far behind me? I don’t know. It just does. Some people are always looking forward to the next thing –– and in many aspects of my life I move with such inertia. Those were the kids who wanted to grow up, something against which I always felt a rooted resistance.
I was a different kind of kid and I guess that makes me a different kind of an adult.
I have a cell phone for more than just emergencies, I still can’t get to a movie on time, and I’ll go to the grave defending Dave Matthews Band. At least I gave away the puka shells.
