This mix is around 10 years old now and there's no real back story to it.

As with the other 'Off The Cuff' mixes, it's exactly that... an impromptu mix, normally after a few libations, not something that happens very often.

Some of the mixing is terrible, but they were just me having a little fun and  the tunes are good regardless of transitions. I'm The Baddest Bitch is undoubtedly an all time classic but the Johnick vs First Choice track is a particular long time favourite of mine after hearing it in a Daft Punk Essential Mix, a mix that I haven't been able to find online, despite numerous attempts through the years. 10 minute method & limiting belief debunking.

This technique is when you either can set a timer for 10 minutes, and straight robotically affirm. It’s better if you do this like 3 times a day, especially if you waver when robotically affirming! This method is so powerful and helps to saturate your subconscious with your dominant thoughts you want to manifest. You can play a subliminal in the background while your affirming, or play a game, anything ! As long as you affirm 10 minutes straight. You can also do longer then 10 if you want, but minimum 10 minutes. Some people may ask “isn’t this coming from a state of lack because you shouldn’t force yourself to affirm straight” no..it isn’t. I just realized this was such a limiting belief i had for such a long time that you had to think “from, and not try to “want or get” your manifestation. Sammy Ingram slapped me right out of these victim state beliefs, and the fair Anwser is no. Your subconscious isn’t going to be like “well are you thinking from you desire? Are you wanting this from a place of lack? If so, nope. Not having it. I’m not going to give it to you.” NO. your subconscious doesn’t have a mind, brain, or soul of its own. It’s literally you. Plus, if you really want your desire and you know exactly how to get it, stop being lazy and affirm and persist. As well as, your subconscious just knows that your focusing on __ (your desire) more so that’s what it’s gonna display in your reality. Plus, I promise you after doing this your going to feel so fullfilled!

lmao but also imagine the halloween after anakin loses his arm when he and obi-wan are dancing around each other and being weird but not together yet and obi-wan gets an invitation to a halloween party and he's not gonna go because he's definitely sort of over halloween in general and house parties specifically, but then he finds out that anakin is going to go and that changes everything

but he doesn't have a costume so he just throws on his lifeguard outfit (but rolls up his shorts a little bit more and grabs one of the older beach t-shirts so he can cut out the sides in proper slutty lifeguard fashion)

only for anakin to show up as a shark attack (in progress), fake blood and all

something that I find fascinating in bridge to the turnabout is when edgeworth says that while he was caught up in the middle of the dl-6 investigation, he had actually met misty fey himself.

I’m sure this was before the channeling began. whether or not he was actually in the room when it happened is up for debate. but because edgeworth never alludes to a reunion with his father, I think it’s safe to say that the police barred him from interacting with his spirit. maybe he was forced out of the room. or maybe he just sat there, crying to himself believing his father was right there and he couldn’t speak to him.

what’s interesting is that edgeworth vehemently dismisses the kurain channeling technique and sees all spirit mediums as frauds (even when mia is channeled in court and clearly visible). so, it’s possible that this anger stems from something a lot more personal than “it’s scientifically impossible.” I think he staunchly refuses to believe in the fey clan’s legitimacy because accepting it means that he could’ve seen his father again, but wasn’t allowed to. so he’d rather think that there is absolutely no way to bring back the dead, ever. it’s a way to protect himself—the police were wrong, so he didn’t actually miss his chance to speak to his dad.

I don’t know, there’s a lot more to edgeworth seeing misty as a fraud than just this, and maybe I’m totally wrong. but it’s a possibility that I thought of.

So, the final Different Strokes show that was to appear on the brilliant station, Box Frequency. The real sad thing about it not being around isn't the loss of the music, that's still there across lots of platforms, it was the community that had built over time and the camaraderie and support that existed. That vanished with the station and I'm not sure I'll encounter that again.

As I've said in another post, I'd like to revive the Different Strokes show in some way. I'm not sure if it's possible or feasible. When I left Facebook in 2018 I lost contact with so many people, and having barely spoken to anyone since, between care, covid, lockdowns, losing my Mum it's hard to see how to pick things up. I do still like the idea of having something like this to focus on, but how to actually get there, I don't know. We'll see. It's on the back burner.

Back to this post and mixes. Nicole J Patten, otherwise known as Ex Ex Ex doesn't seem to have the same social media presence, but she is still on Soundcloud. I think I'm right in saying she was originally from Baltimore but had moved to Broolyn. I'd followed Nicole for a few years on Soundcloud and had posted a couple of her mixes to the blog in the early days. Not only does she have a great taste in music, her mixing was always great. Outside of music she came across as a very genuine and down to earth person.... but very busy. So I was really happy that she agreed to share this platform with me.

Part one from Nicole is very much centred around house music with a couple of curve balls in there to keep you on your toes. Part two from me was a mix of house and edits, and as far as my own mixes go, I was pretty pleased with this one. I'll link the tracklists up as well as I can, but there will likely be some I struggle to find now, so you'll need to dig around yourself if you want to find them.

If Nicole, or any of the other guests should happen to visit the blog, I just want to say thank you to each and every one of you. I doubt anyone will, and certainly none will know what it meant to me to do this and share the stage with these great talents. The same goes for the other people I've been involved with at Box Frequency or others I've done mixes for. Thank you.

I’m fucking crying, I’m bawling my eyes out. I was genuinely liking detective Cassidy, I looked at the wiki, found out he leaves on episode 13 season 1 and I’m on that. I stopped watching immediately and started crying, like actually sobbing. Then I find out he was molested when he was younger. what the fuck. I liked him. He was starting to grow onto me, I’m so emotional right now and now that I’m learning this I am still crying. This mix is from 2012/13 or thereabouts. There's no back story to this, the title simply came from the fact that I hadn't been on my decks for a couple of months, I got the urge one evening, so I hit record and this was what came out the other end. The cover was pretty rushed and I've often thought about changing it, but I really love the text and the colour, so I've opted to leave it as it is.
