Hiiiii!!! I hope you have the greatest time at your vacation! I was wondering if I could request about Sukuna x Reader where the reader is sweet and kind towards everyone, including him. He thought she would be afraid of him and confuses him all day until he confronts her as he confesses his feelings to Reader.
You know I had to write my bbys request right away đ«¶đ€ I hope you like it!
Sweet Affection

Pairing: Sukuna x fem!reader
Word Count: 1,6k
Synopsis: Until he met you, Sukuna never believed in something as worthless as love and affection. But when you treated him like no one ever did before, when you showed him what affection might look like, he tumbles...
Warnings: this is just pure fluff y'all, reader is a sunny sweetheart so of that's not for you don't read, Sukuna melts like butter in her hands hehe
What do we think about adding a real "name" for a one shot instead of a brief description? Let me know đđ€
The air is thick with tension as you step into the room. The oppressive aura of none other than Ryomen Sukuna would send most people running, but instead of allowing fear or negativity to take over, you walk in with the same gentle smile you usually wear. After all, itâs this smile that has kept you safe so far, that kept you from losing your mind to darkness - even when standing in front of the king of curses himself.
Sukuna eyes you with a mix of dislike and curiosity. Heâs not used to someone like you, someone who isnât trembling in his presence or desperately trying to escape his control. No, you approach him calmly while offering him a cup of tea as if he were just another regular person.
A cup of tea. Is he dreaming? What the hell are you thinking?
âHere, I made this for you,â you say softly, placing the cup in front of him.
Your voice is just as warm and soothing as your appearance, completely throwing him off. Heâs used to the screams, the fear, the devotion that his very name commands. But you⊠youâre different.
You donât even tremble, not the tiniest bit while placing the cup in front of him. And then you sit down opposite of him as if it was nothing, as if he couldnât kill you with one minor movement of his pinky finger.
He doesnât take the tea, just stares at it with narrowed eyes for a brief moment.
âWhatâs your game?â he finally growls, his deep voice reverberating through the room.
âWhy arenât you afraid of me?â
You blink, tilting your head slightly as if the question puzzles you.
âWhy would I be afraid of you? You havenât given me a reason to be.â
Sukunaâs fingers twitch, the sharp claws extending slightly as if to remind you of exactly who he is.
âIâm a monster. These people are trying to hold me hostage. Your people,â he says, his voice low and dangerous.
âIâve killed more humans than you can imagine. I could kill you right now if I wanted to.â
âAnd yet, you havenât. Even though Iâm here to make sure you donât escape,â you reply simply, your eyes meeting his without a trace of fear.
âYou could have done it a thousand times by now, but you didnât. That tells me thereâs more to you than just the monster everyone else sees or that you pretend to be.â
He doesnât know how to respond to that. Your words unsettle him, digging into parts of him he thought were long buried. Heâs silent for a long moment, just watching you as you take a sip out of your own cup, eyes darting around the room in visible comfort.
âWhy are you so kind? Why do you act like this?â he asks suddenly, his voice quieter this time, almost as if heâs asking himself more than you.
You smile softly, a small, genuine smile that somehow manages to light up the room despite the dark presence looming within it.
âI believe everyone deserves kindness,â you say, your eyes sincere.
âEven you, Sukuna. Or maybe especially you.â
His heart lurches in his chest, a foreign sensation he hasnât felt in centuries. It irritates him how easily you disarm him, how your sweet nature pierces through the layers of hatred and darkness that have consumed him for so long. It baffles him, makes him feel things he hasnât allowed himself to feel in so long.
But what angers him the most is the realization that he cares about your opinion of him. That suddenly, he doesnât want you to see him as a monster. Not you with that glowy hair and remarkable eyes. Not you, who is the first one who actually dares to sit opposite of him, who doesnât seem afraid of him the slightest. What do you see in him while looking up through your doe eyes and long lashes? What lingers through your mind while smiling at him oh so gently? You simply sit there, take a sip of tea from time to time and smile.
âYou know I wonât stay here forever. Itâs way too easy for me to escapeâ, he finally blurts out.
âI know you will. But until you do, I will enjoy my time drinking tea with you.â
He furrows his eyebrows, mind racing back and forth. What nonsense are you talking?
âIâm not that Itadori brat, foolish human.â
âI am very aware of thatâ, you reply simply.
This goes too far already, he canât waste another precious minute sitting opposite of you while drinking tea when this might be the last change in a long time for him to take over that bratâs body. With a swift motion he stands up.
Sukuna allows himself one last glance at your soft features, the way you hold your cup so delicately. Then heâs gone.
Months pass with this strange tension lingering between you. Those past weeks, he finds himself over and over at your doorstep. Out of habit, he grabs every chance he gets out of trance to see you again.
You? You continue to treat him with the same kindness, offering him food, asking him about his day, even making casual conversation as if he were any other person.
And Sukuna⊠he finds himself wanting to respond, wanting to let down his guard, if only for a brief moment.
Itâs maddening. He spends the entire time brooding, his thoughts swirling with questions he canât answer. Why does he care? Why does your smile make his chest tighten? Why does he want to see it directed at him more and more? What is this urge to feel you close without the need to kill you? You, a jujutsu sorcerer from that cursed school, nothing but a weak human.
What is so special about you?
As night falls and he finds himself sitting on your couch again, he finally reaches his breaking point. Youâre in the kitchen, humming softly to yourself as you prepare dinner, when he storms in, his presence like a thundercloud rolling through the room.
âWhy?â he demands, his voice rough and almost desperate.
âWhy are you like this with me? Why do you act like Iâm not the monster I am?â
You turn to face him, your expression softening as you see the turmoil in his eyes. You take a step closer, and to his surprise, he doesnât instinctively move back.
âBecause I see more in you,â you say quietly.
âI see someone whoâs been hurt, someone whoâs lost so much that heâs forgotten how to be anything but cruel. But that doesnât mean thatâs all you are, Sukuna.â
Your words hit him like a punch to the gut. No one has ever spoken to him like this, ever seen him like this. And before he can stop himself, the truth comes tumbling out.
âI care about you,â he admits, the words rough and jagged like theyâre being ripped from his very soul.
âAnd I hate it. I hate that you make me feel this way.â
Your eyes widen slightly in surprise, but then a soft smile tugs at your lips.
âItâs okay to care, Sukuna. It doesnât make you weak. It just makes you human.â
Human.
He stares at you, his mind racing. Those countless words of nonsense leaving your mouth, that stupid smile that never wipes off your face, your kindness. Are you actually that dumb? But all he can focus on is how close you are, how your presence soothes the chaos in his mind. Without thinking, he reaches out, his fingers brushing against your cheek.
âYouâre a fool. A foolish, kind-hearted humanâŠâ he murmurs, but thereâs no heat in his words, only a strange, unfamiliar tenderness.
Before he can say anything more, you close the distance between you, pressing your lips against his in a gentle kiss. Soft and tentative, but itâs enough to make his heart stutter in his chest.
A firework seems to explode between both of you when he wraps his arms around your waist. Longingly, full of passion. You never allowed yourself to imagine this moment. Not when all you wanted to do was to support him, to show him that he doesnât have to act the way he does. But this? This is more than you ever dreamed of.
Truth is, you fell for this man. Despite the stinging fact that heâs the complete opposite of you, despite all the horrible things heâs done. You canât help but look up at him with nothing but affection glimmering in your eyes, with nothing but pure love filling your heart.
When you pull back, your eyes meet his, and for the first time in centuries, Sukuna feels something other than hatred and rage. He feels warmth. He feels⊠love.
And it terrifies him. Fuck, he isnât supposed to feel this way. That feeling he always made fun of, rising up his chest because a random girl smiled at him?
But as he looks into your eyes, he realizes that maybe, just maybe, itâs worth it. Maybe itâs more than that, something worth exploring.
âIâll destroy you,â he whispers, though the threat feels empty even to him.
You smile, leaning into his touch.
âIâll take my chances.â
For the first time in his long, twisted existence, Sukuna doesnât know what the future holds. But with you by his side, he thinks he might just be okay with that.

a/n : levi x femreader | mature / explicit theme | some characters kept alive because why not it's my au | not for kids.
Story Masterlist : Attack on Titan
MDNI [MINORS DO NOT INTERACT] < previous ... next >
SEVEN
"So let me get this straight," Levi said, voice low and dry as ever. He leaned on the doorframe, arms crossed, eyes narrowed as they scanned Erwin, then flicked to you. "I'm picking the squad. And leading them. As Captain?"
Erwin gave a short nod. "Correct."
Levi stared for a long second. His gut already told him the answer, but he wanted to hear it againâto make sure he wasn't walking into something he couldn't walk back out of.
He knew what came with the title. Responsibility. Strategy. Blood. The weight of choices that never stopped haunting you.
He also knew something else.
He was probably the best shot they had.
"And why me again?" he asked, tone neutral, but sharp enough to cut.
"You're not just the right person," Erwin said. "You're the only one who fits. You'll lead the Special Operations Unit with her as your second," he finished ater giving you a glance.
He gestured toward you, and you gave Levi a small nod.
"You both have the highest combined kill and assist record. Individually, you can each take down two Titans in a single charge. Together, you're lethal. Miche's already tied up as my second-in-command, and Hange's running the Research Division. That leaves you two."
Levi's eyes slid back to you. You met his gaze, calm, collected, the edge of something warmer flickering behind your expression.
He hated how easily that look got under his skin.
Levi turned his gaze toward you, brow arched. "Then why don't you lead it?"
Hange perked up, eyes flicking to you. "Yeah, good question. You've got the numbers for it."
You exhaled through your nose, like you'd already gone over this a dozen times in your head. "Because I don't want to. I work better beside someone. I don't want the burden of command. I like... following orders."
You turned to him, eyes steady.
"You? You lead like you were born for it. Every time we're on the field together, you read it before anyone else. You move like you already know what's going to happen. I trust your instincts."
Levi blinked. Something hot flared low in his stomach, the kind of heat that wasn't entirely professional.
He hated that too.
Miche stepped forward, arms folded, watching the exchange with that usual unreadable calm. "She's got the highest assist count. She reads peopleâreads youâbetter than most. She could lead, but if she's not ready, we're not forcing it. I stand by her either way."
Levi ground his teeth slightly, eyes narrowing as he processed all of it.
He didn't like being cornered. Didn't like being needed. But... he couldn't argue with the logic.
You worked well together. Too well, sometimes.
He remembered every mission, every timed breath, the way your back would align with his as if you were wired into the same instincts. The few times you were injured, he had almost lost his damn mind.
He exhaled and gave Erwin a long look. "Fine. I'll do it." His voice came out rougher than intended. "But I want to see them in action first. If you've got profiles, I'll review them."
Erwin passed him a folderâalready prepared, of courseâand Levi turned, flicking his gaze toward you. You followed him, no hesitation.
As usual.
You suggested lunch. Levi made a low, annoyed sound about Hange's experiments and some "rotting slime," but agreed anyway.
He didn't want to be around anyone else right now.
You sat beside him, so close your leg brushed his. He stiffened slightly at first, but didn't move away.
Couldn't.
You flipped through profiles togetherâEld Jinn. Petra Ral. Oluo Bozado. Gunther Schultz. The names blurred a little as your fingers grazed the same pages, your voice low as you made quiet observations.
You were efficient. Smart. You picked up on things others missed. And the way you bit the inside of your cheek when you were focused shouldn't have been that distracting.
Levi stole a glance at your profile.
How the fuck were you always this close?
And why did it feel like the room got smaller every time you looked at him like thatâlike you saw him?
You both agreed: wait until the next expedition. If they survived, they made the cut. Survival was non-negotiable. If they adapted under fireâthey'd be worth considering. Survival was the greatest skill of all.
Over time, you and Levi began to sync without even trying. You could read his shifts in movement, catch the smallest flick of his eyes. He learned your rhythm too, always knowing when you were about to move, speak, strike.
You trained together. Sparred. Teased. You knew how to push his buttons just enough without getting thrown out of the damn room.
And you always smiled when you knew he was annoyed.
He hated how much he loved it.
The teasing between you was subtle but constantâan unspoken current. Sometimes it was playful, sometimes a little too close. He'd smirk, or the corner of his mouth would twitch, but his face stayed unreadable otherwise. You couldn't help but admire the way he kept himself guarded, even when you knewâyou knewâhe was watching you.
You hadn't talked about it. Not once. But it hovered between you like an unlit fuse. Yet, he could feel it growing stronger every damn day.
He'd been living in your head since that kiss. You could still feel the softness of his lips, the stillness of his breath when your mouths met. Nothing had happened after that. No words. Just... space. Respect. Time.
You were healing. He could see itâthe way your shoulders slowly uncoiled, the way you started to laugh more. The way you looked at him nowâso different from before. With warmth. With trust.
He wanted you.
But he wouldn't make the first move. Not yet.
You deserved space. You deserved time. You deserved someone who wouldn't take until you had nothing left. Someone who wouldn't use your trust like a weapon.
But the tension was growing. You caught him looking at you more often. His presence in a room turned everything sharp, every breath shallow. You sought him in crowds, recognized his voice above all others. Even the sound of his name stirred something in you.
Hange noticed. Of course she did. You'd catch her staring at you with that knowing look, like she could see the whole storm playing out in real time.
You weren't sure if Levi felt the same way. But you were sure of one thing: you weren't going to let your past dictate your future. Flagon had done damage, but he no longer had power over you. You had forgiven yourself. You were healing. And maybeâmaybeâyou were ready for something real.
Even if that something had sharp eyes, a sharper tongue, and the kind of smile that knocked the breath from your lungs.
So he will wait.
He let you tease him. Bump shoulders. Flash that smile. Say his name in that soft, knowing way that made his pulse stutter in his neck.
And when you leaned in close to steal a paper from his hand during lunch, your breath brushing his cheek, and said with a little smirk, "Told you you'd make a good Captain..."
He cursed under his breath. Scowled at you.
"You're such a pain in the ass," he muttered, trying not to look at your lips.
"But I'm your pain in the ass now, right?"
You said it without thinking, then froze.
Levi looked at you, deadpan. But inside? His whole damn body was vibrating.
He looked away, jaw tight. "Don't push your luck."
But the corner of his mouth twitched.
Too late.
He was already falling.
And this time, he wasn't sure he'd be able to stop.
MISSION DAY
The air was razor-sharp with tension.
You strapped into your ODM gear, fingers deft as they checked every blade, every buckle, every canister of gas. No room for error. Not today.
Today was the real test.
You spotted Levi checking his gear under the gray morning light, and approached, quiet but focused. "Ready?"
He didn't look up right away. Around you, nervous soldiers glanced at one another, the air thick with unspoken dread. Levi finally exhaled through his nose and muttered, "Better hope these brats hold up. I don't want to waste time dragging corpses back."
You smirked. "That's the spirit."
With a sharp nod, he motioned toward the horses. You walked side by side, giving your gear a last sweepâchecking straps, re-counting hidden daggers. Just in case.
On the way, you crossed paths with Erwin, Miche, Hange, and Moblit. Their faces were tight with tension. No matter how many expeditions you went on, this moment before the gate opened always felt the sameâlike standing on the edge of a knife.
Erwin reviewed the plan: push deeper into Titan territory, assess boundaries, evaluate Levi's potential squad members under fire. You'd been watching these candidates closely. Promising, sure. But today would show who had gutsâand who'd end up as red mist.
Levi's four picks stood at attention when introducedâPetra, shy but sharp-eyed; Oluo, smug and already chewing his own tongue; Gunther and Eld, serious and solid. You observed silently beside Levi as he delivered his requirements in his usual deadpan.
"Stay alive. Be useful. Don't die."
Right. Easier said than done.
The gates groaned open.
You spurred your horse forward, heart hammering like a war drum. This wasn't just a missionâit was the beginning of something bigger. A new squad. A new strategy. A new way to fight.
And Titans didn't like new.
The first ten minutes were too quiet. The kind of quiet that made your skin crawl.
Then came the thunder.
"Three Titans, rear formation!" you shouted, already drawing your blades Levi's eyes narrowed.
"Jinn, with me. Schultz, go with Brooks. Rall, Bozadoâhold the formation and wait for my signal!"
The world exploded into chaos.
You launched into the trees as Miche and Nanaba flanked right, already engaging. Your hooks embedded into a Titan's ankles, and you soared upward, slicing through the air like a phantom. Gunther followed, cutting tendons with precision, and you used the opening to tear through the nape. One down.
Levi darted overhead, a blur of speed and death, spinning around the arms of the biggest Titan like it was a training dummy. "Left!" you shouted.
"I know," he snapped, blades flashing.
You hit the Titan's eyes, blinding it in a spray of steaming gore just as Levi carved its nape clean open. Eld took the second kill. You all regrouped fast, blood-soaked and grinning like madmen.
"Eugh," you muttered, glancing at your goo-slicked jacket. "Gross."
Levi looked worseâcompletely bathed in Titan guts, face twisted in eternal disgust.
You burst into laughter.
He glared. "Tch."
Before the tension could settle, Miche's voice cut through the air.
"Two more, left and right! I swear, if Erwin doesn't give us a day off after thisâ!"
Nanaba veered right. You, Levi, and Petra zipped left.
"You good?" you asked Petra. Her jaw was tight, but she nodded. Good enough.
Levi sprang forward, a whirlwind of motion. Petra backed him up like she'd been doing it for years. You flanked and shredded the larger Titan's nape with a swift, arcing strike. Blood rained. Petra blinked it out of her eyes and let out a breath that sounded like she hadn't taken one since you launched.
Levi caught your eye mid-flight. His lip twitchedâalmost a smile.
Back at the base, Oluo looked visibly deflated.
You clapped him on the shoulder. "Chin up. You'll get your moment."
As if summoned by fate, Miche's shout rang out: "Guys! Incoming Abnormal!"
Oh. So that's how it's gonna be.
"Let's go, Oluo!" you barked, pulling your blades and racing toward the threat.
Oluo's bravado cracked a little when he saw itâfifteen meters easy, moving erratically.
You ducked into the trees, signaled for backup, and hissed, "It's an abnormal. Stay sharp."
"Think it can hear us?" he whispered, eyes wide.
You didn't answer. Just took out two large daggers and aimed carefully from your perch.
"Wait for my signal."
The Titan's head came into view. You released. The daggers embedded in its eyes with a satisfying squelch. It shrieked, stumblingâand Oluo pounced.
He sliced its throat while you launched from above, hooking its shoulderâonly for blood to send you slipping.
Pain lanced through your ankle as you tumbled. You dangled, gritting your teeth.
"VICE CAPTAIN" Oluo shouted.
"I'm fine," you growled, hooking to the other side and swinging yourself up. You refueled mid-air, swapped blades, and slammed them into its nape with brutal force.
The Titan collapsed like a felled building.
The ground shook.
You landed on one foot and screamed as your ankle gave way.
"Fuck."
Oluo ran to you. "You're hurt!"
"No shit," you hissed.
Then Levi appearedâout of nowhere, eyes wide with fury. "What the fuck happened?!"
"Slipped in blood," you snapped, pain flaring as he caught you. One arm looped around your waist. You clung to him, letting him carry you up and away.
At the base, Hange rushed over. "Tent. Now."
Levi carried you straight in and set you down. Erwin looked up, frown deepening.
"What happened?"
"A fucking huge abnormal," you said between breaths. "Oluo did great. I slipped in the gore."
Levi glared at you. "What were you doing on its shoulders?"
"Blinded it. Oluo slit its throat. I climbed it. Got flung. Finished the job."
Levi turned and stormed out.
"Oi!" Hange yelled as he nearly bowled her over.
She dropped the medical kit beside you and started wrapping your ankle. Her hands were shaking.
"Oluo did great," you muttered. "He deserves a chance."
Erwin nodded. "You did well. But be careful next time."
"Finally, some appreciation," you grumbled.
Then came the assault.
"YOU GAVE ME A FUCKING HEART ATTACK!" Hange screeched, hitting you repeatedly with a rolled-up map.
"OW! OKAY! OW! I'M SORRY!"
She paused, panting, face red. "We thought it had you."
Your expression softened. "I'll be more careful next time. Promise."
Hange nodded, eyes glassy. "He panicked, you know. Levi. When Miche said you ran off."
You fell silent.
You found him later, at the stables, quietly brushing your horse. His back was to you, but you knew he heard you approach.
"Leviâ"
"You could've died," he said without turning.
"I know," you replied softly. "But I didn't."
He turned, eyes blazing. You opened your mouth to say more, but he just pulled you into his chest, arms wrapping around you tight.
"You're a clumsy idiot," he murmured. "You scared the hell out of me."
You exhaled against him, warm and safe. "I'll try not to die. Just for you."
He snorted. "Try harder."
You laughed quietly. "By the way... Oluo's ready. You've got your squad."
"Good," he said, lips brushing your temple. "Because next time, you're riding in the center."
The ride back was smoother. No casualties. Levi's new squadâPetra, Oluo, Gunther, and Eldâmoved like gears in a well-oiled machine. Precise. Lethal.
You watched from horseback, pride swelling in your chest.
Levi? He didn't just lead them.
He commanded the battlefield like it was born from his will.
And for the first time, the Scouts returned behind the Walls without a single body left behind.
Humanity's Strongest Soldier wasn't just a title anymore.
It was a promise.

i saw someone say merlin and gwen had tension when gwen became queen due to her position in power and that's the status merlin wanted (with arthur), all i can say is what kind of show did you watch ???
but no let's actually talk about it.
a lot of fans claim that merlin and gwen grew apart when she became queen or that she didn't treat him as she used to. first of all, you have got to remember that gwen didn't have much screentime in general in season five. not to mention the fact that pretty much everyone had their character forgotten and their relations (for example, we hardly got any gwaine and merlin!).
majority of the time, certain scenes in season five are given as examples to show that merlin and gwen grew apart (with the blame being on gwen). one of those scenes was when she asked merlin to run her a bath.
a lot of fans forget that's literally merlin's job? he is quite literally paid to service the king (and now the queen).
merlin came into gwen's service when sefa betrayed her. sefa, who was supposed to be the closest person to the queen. not only was she there to assist gwen in daily/household tasks, but once she settled into her role, she would have also been handling gwen's royal + state affairs. i have often questioned why they didn't give gwen someone else, but thinking about it more, it makes sense why - gwen had already gone through so much betrayal and the situation with sefa also showed there would always be a risk of that - hence why she now had no one to be her maid.
this ties into point two tbh because gwen also witnessed people trying to kill arthur in different ways - one being when merlin was enchanted. so it makes more sense to ask your most trusted friend to carry out tasks (that they're paid to do anyway).
i understand the point some people make - it's weird to suddenly be commanding your best friend to do things for you. but fans also forget there were three years of gwen being queen which we didn't see! gwen was a maid herself and came from a low income family. she had never reached that level of status before she was married.
do you seriously believe that she wouldn't have struggled in her new role? that she didn't struggle asking people to do things for her? that she so easily assimilated into her role as queen with authority? and do you seriously believe that merlin didn't encourage and support her through this? that it is likely he was the one who helped gwen feel more at ease of people doing things for her?
there is only "tension" there because you make it so. the same way fans do with anything that comes to gwen. you pluck things out of thin air because you simply do not look at gwen as a character, just someone in the way of what you want.
Edit: I completely forgot Gwen was enchanted when she asked Merlin to run her a bath with the intention of Daegal trying to lure him into a trap. Thanks op in the tags!

The Hunter (TWD X Reader)

Series Masterlist
Part Three
The gate of Alexandria towers tall over your form, and even taller than that are two people on watch towers with their guns aimed straight at you. With a commanding bark from one of them, the gate slowly creaks open, revealing yet another stranger. Despite their obvious fear and caution about your appearance, you strut through the open gate without a care, completely unbothered by the eyes and weapons trained on you.
As you enter into their little safe haven, a group begins to form near the gate, everyone becoming curious about the newcomer who came alone. You can hear each murmured whisper, each confused and hesitant question. They don't trust you- rarely anyone does these days- but it's understandable. It's not everyday a stranger waltzes into their home wearing the fur and teeth of a lion, drenched in blood and carrying a bag. They have every right to be wary of your presence.
Pushing through the group, Rick and his entourage from before appear. They seem to relax just the slightest bit upon seeing you, realizing that there isn't currently a threat standing on their doorsteps. Rick steps even closer, standing just a mere five feet away from you when he finally speaks up. "Is it done?"
You shrug the bag off of your shoulder, dumping it onto the ground before crouching down and tugging the zipper open. Everyone tenses as your hand dips into the bag, unsure as to what you could possibly be reaching for. Yet, as you stand up, pulling the item from the bag, the unease melts into disbelief.
There, hanging loosely in your grip, is a familiar bat drenched in blood.
You hold the bat out for Rick to take, unbothered by the blood smearing over your already dirtied hands as you hold it closer towards the barbed wire so he can grab it by the handle. "A gift, to show the completion of the job." You tell him with a casual shrug.
Rick glances at you, making momentary eye contact before pulling his gaze down towards the bat. With slightly shaking hands- something you easily spot with your advanced eye sight- he grips the handle of the bat, carefully pulling it from your grasp. "He's..." He pauses, as if trying to pull his thoughts together. "It's done? You really killed him?"
"Of course." You nod, pulling your hand back and pushing it into your pants pockets without care. "Killed him and all of his men. Left the women and children alive, though. Figured they weren't necessary collateral."
Rick nods along, seeming thankful that you spared the innocents unlike Negan. He examines the bat for a moment longer before handing it off to Daryl. His jaw clenches a bit as he turns his attention back towards you, clearly wrestling with his own thoughts a bit. "I know we didn't discuss a payment... but anything you want and it's yours."
Your lips quirk a bit in amusement, easily able to tell that he doesn't actually have much to give you, nor does he really want to. "It's alright." You shrug, waving the offer off. "I didn't do this because I expected anything in return. I did it because it's just what I do."
"You really didn' do it expectin' anthin' in return?" Daryl questions in disbelief, his voice gruff and scratchy.
"There's nothing I need." You answer honestly. "You saw my home. I have plenty of anything I could ever need in life. So, no, I didn't do it expecting to receive anything in return."
"Will you at least stay? For dinner?" Maggie questions suddenly, stepping a bit further out of the crowd. Out of everyone here, she especially has reason to want to thank you. You gave her the revenge for her husbands death that she couldn't get on her own. And as much as she wished to be the one to take Negan's life, she knew it wasn't going to happen. At least not anytime soon. She'd much rather have him dead now by the hands of someone else than dead by her own possibly years down the road.
"I suppose dinner couldn't hurt." The group of people splits off after that, you following after Maggie as she leads the way to one of the houses.
You spend the entire afternoon in Alexandria, eating and chatting with the people who live there. You listen to the stories of the group- where they all came from and how long they've been together. Every battle they fought through by each others sides. And you tell them your own story in return. How you got into a hunting accident as a teenager where you were attacked by a lion, and how your father killed that lion many years later as a gift to you- hence your vest and necklace of teeth. You don't tell them about your strange abilities, of course, as that's not something you easily share.
By the time the moon is high in the sky, your belly is full and your cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much. You stand at the gate, prepared to make your way back home as you've been gone for long enough. The group stands behind you, admittedly a bit sad to see you go as they've come to enjoy your company. However, they know that you have other things that need your attention. So, they don't stop you as the gate slides open and you step to the other side.
Before the gate slides shut, you turn and face them once more, flashing them a toothy grin. "Come visit me sometime, yeah?"
And just like that the gate slides closed and the hunter disappears into the night.

The Storm/The Eye, Pt. 5
Believing that Weir is dead and McKay is in mortal peril, Sheppard proceeds to go on what amounts to a rampage.

The first scene of The Eye (S01E10) seems to continue the show's meta-commentary. McKay, brave toaster that he is and possibly at least partially motivated by the desperation that they can all hear in Sheppard's voice over the intercom, places himself between the gun and Elizabeth. The dialogue tells us what's going on (with the show and where it's heading):
Kolya: Sheppard put you in this position, not me. McKay: You can't do this. This is crazy. You need her! Sora: She's right, Commander. McKay: I'm not kidding. There are codes required to activate the shield â codes that only she knows. You can't do it without her! Well, you can't do this without me either. I mean, we're a package deal. You take us out of the equation and-and-and-and you don't have an end game.
The fact that Weir and McKay are a package deal is emphasized by their placement, McKay coming to stand in front of Weir and obstructing her. That is to say, the show needs to imply attraction between Weir and Sheppard to be able to explore the relationship between Sheppard and McKay in subtext, to blur the lines between the characters and their relationships. The first they could easily have done without the latter, but the latter they could never have pulled off without the former (re: the shows ties to the USAF and DADT still being a thing when it aired). It offers the cover of plausible deniability while allowing people attuned to homoerotic subtext to easily be able to recognize the narrative undercurrent.

Again, note that McKay is lying to save Weir, claiming that he absolutely needs her help to save the city. Also, it's Kolya mentioning Sheppard by name that initially makes McKay dive in front of the gun. He says "Sheppard put you into this position, not me" which has the implication that if McKay allowed Kolya to shoot Weir, Sheppard would have to live with the guilt of it for the rest of his life, and McKay wasn't about to let that happen. He hears Sheppard's name and he immediately reacts, does something really brave and heroic without even having time to think about it. Because, as I've discussed previously, he is a Big Damn Hero and this very characteristic of his is what Sheppard admires and loves in him so much, even though he doesn't even get to see it this time.
Halfway through his rant McKay realizes that he just put himself into jeopardy, and this is when he starts consciously doing the same thing he has been doing with the Genii ever since their first encounter: trying to convince them of his invaluability (and it's striking that it's always in the service of trying to save someone else, not just or even predominately himself). He has self-esteem issues, he doesn't actually believe he's invaluable. But probably since he was a child he's had to project invaluability, has had to prove to people that he is a valuable asset, to gain acceptance. He thinks that he will only be tolerated if he proves himself irreplaceable.
The characters continue lying to one another. Kolya lets Sheppard know that Weir is dead.

I want to point out two things. Where Sheppard was extremely agitated just a moment ago, willing to do anything, he is extremely and exaggeratedly calm when he tells Kolya that he is going to kill him. Of course he is very upset that Weir should have been killed on his watch. Of course he cares about Weir and is upset by this. But again knowing the outcome changed his demeanor. Sure, responding in a cool and collected way is a performance to hide the fact that he is internally shaken. But he still manages to pull it off.
Then Kolya continues with "Stay out of my way or McKay will join her." That is when we get a brief glimpse at how Sheppard is actually feeling, his internal conflict and anguish (and which is something that he has no intention of letting Kolya know, hence putting the radio down):

Now. My friends. When you desperately need something, you need something so badly that you're willing to kill for it, you start killing off things from the least important to the most important. Like when a parent starts counting down from ten when they're warning a child that unless they cease their behaviour, they're going to "get it". You don't start from one, you start from ten and count downwards.
If Kolya had thought that Weir was Sheppard's main motivation, he would not have started by killing her off. Never mind how important McKay may have been, you keep the ace up your sleeve as long as you can. And Kolya had decided that the ace up his sleeve was McKay, which is why he reminds Sheppard that he is, in fact, still very much holding him hostage.
Again, the main stream audience is going to watch the show thinking Sheppard's entire upset has to do with Weir and Weir alone. And yet we always seem to find McKay between references to Weir and changes in Sheppard's demeanor. And once more, given what we saw of their interaction in the previous episode (Sheppard barely saw Weir when the three of them were in the lab together; he was so focused on McKay it's as though she weren't even there for him; we've really had zero indication of him harbouring some hidden secret passion for her that would explain this reaction; she is not the love of his life and a budding interest would not even begin to explain his reaction here), it makes so much more sense to interpret this reaction and the events that follow as motivated by McKay. Especially in the context of him having lost Captain Holland to enemy combatants in Afghanistan, as we later learn.
Also notice that once Kolya mentions McKay, Sheppard doesn't respond. There are probably a hundred things he could have said, maybe even wanted to say. You can read it all on his face. But he doesn't say anything because he doesn't dare do anything that might provoke this sociopath further. He actually has to stop himself from saying something he might regret. He can't risk responding. Like, he physically has to force his hand down to keep from say something that McKay might end up paying for.
Sheppard was afraid that he wasn't going to be able to save the people he cares about from the storm before, but this is a whole new kind of fear. This is a nightmare of the kind he had never even thought to have. But he's going to move heaven and earth to save the man. He's even willing to kill to save him. Kill a lot of people to save him, as it turns out.
And it is also noteworthy that he immediately springs into action, here. We've seen previously how characters are incapacitated when they lose someone important to them (cf. Cowen sitting down with his legs giving way when he mourns Tyrus). Sheppard is the opposite of incapacitated (in fact, we see him incapacitated in this particular fashion in Doppelganger, S04E04, when he thinks McKay is dead, so we see what Sheppard is like when he's lost the most important thing to him; he's slow, sluggish, going through the motions). This is not a man going through the motions, this is a man on a mission.
Again we get a transition from Sheppard's emotion to the raging storm to indicate that there's a storm also raging within him. The storm is a metaphor for what's going on inside him. And the calmness with which he then proceeds to take out the Genii is him being in the eye of the storm. Because the show is subtle with the symbolism like that.
Sheppard is moving fast, he's being strategic. He's not someone that's blinded by rage on a revenge mission because someone just killed the love of his life. He's also not acting reckless, putting himself needlessly in danger and this is not because he has some payback to do and someone to kill but because he has someone to save. You can contrast all of this with Sora's behaviour later on with regards to her vengeance against Teyla.
He even stops to check his watch at one point because he remembers McKay's words about them being under a time element, that there's a deadline looming over them all -- this is reinforced by the fact that the previous time Sheppard checked his watch, it was on the balcony right after McKay had just checked his watch (unwittingly mirroring someone's actions, again a sign of attraction; although synchronizing watches is also a very military thing to do, to be sure) and told them they have just over four and a half hours until the storm hits.
We are literally told that it's McKay he's thinking about when he stops and actually asks himself, "What would McKay do?" Again reminding us of the fact that for Sheppard, McKay is a hero. That McKay is constantly on his mind.

I also need to emphasize that he is killing actual people here. Yes, they're enemies but they are also human. This is the first time we see him kill humans after the mercy killing of Col. Sumner.
McKay starts fixing the grounding station and it's really quite sweet how he attempts to make it look like Elizabeth is vital to the process to keep her alive. It's not that he's trying to be a hero, it just comes naturally to him. He's not very good with people, though, so Elizabeth both has to explain to him that they need to stall and to actually lie on his behalf. When they overhear that Sheppard has killed some of the Genii strike force over the intercom, it's again only McKay's reaction that we get to this, not Weir's. He made a mental note of it albeit he does not seem to know what to think of it. Sheppard is alive, yes. He's being hunted by people with guns. And he's having to do terrible things.
McKay really is quite rattled, never having been in this kind of situation before. And it's interesting that Weir uses Sheppard to kick McKay into gear. She actually mentions Sheppard by name: "Look, from the sound of it, if we can buy Sheppard enough time, it seems like he can take care of the rest of them on his own." Not only had she figured out that this is what would motivate McKay the best, she is actually getting him to focus by appeasing him, pointing it out to him that Sheppard is really doing quite well for himself out there. She's not telling him that they're going to be alright, she's telling him that Sheppard is safe. Because for some reason she thinks that that's what will motivate him.
And Kolya does the opposite. He's trying to demoralize them by mentioning Sheppard by name: "If you're hoping Major Sheppard can diminish our numbers, you are mistaken." And notice that he is saying this to McKay. He glances at Weir a few times but when he is saying this, he is looking directly and only at McKay. An angel and a devil on his shoulders, they're both using Sheppard to get to him. I find that really interesting. Now, Weir knows him and has been able to observe them for a while now. But these people are complete strangers to Kolya, and he's still figured it out.
Now, if earlier Sheppard had to stop himself from saying something that might cause McKay trouble, McKay seems to be doing the same thing. And keeping quiet isn't the easiest thing for him, does not come to him naturally. But he keeps quiet because he's trying very hard not to make things worse for the Major.
If both Kolya and Weir are using Sheppard to motivate McKay, Sheppard himself is using McKay to motivate himself:

He has a dilemma here. He's trying to think of what McKay would do in his situation but he's come across explicit instructions from McKay not to do what he's thinking about doing. That's quite the pickle! (Also hilarious that the sign can be read as implying that touching McKay is dangerous, telling him not to do it). Are you thinking about touching McKay right now? Because this is not the time, my friend.
From the pleased look on Rodney's face, Sheppard was able to correctly intuit what he would have done in the situation when he shuts down the naqada generator. It's like they're working together as a team even when they are apart.

summary: sole survivor and colonist shepard longs to have a relationship with garrus, but everyone sheâs ever cared about has died or left. he wouldn't leave her, would he?
a/n: me3 after shepard and garrus reunite on palavan. i know that commander shepard doesn't cry, but this one does!! (in private at least)
tags: angst to fluff, negative thoughts, shepard kinda has abandonment issues, reassurance, ooc garrus bc he says i love you
ao3 version
there was a tentative knock on shepardâs door and she knew who would be there all too well, the person she wanted to see more than anything, yet the turian she dreaded to talk to the most. she knew what talk was coming and she was scared, more scared than she ever had been in a battlefield surrounded by geth with a nearly empty thermal clip. at least she had some control in the battlefield, but when it came to emotionally letting someone in, she was at a complete loss, feeling around in the dark with no light to guide her. until he came into her life, showing her something she hasnât felt like a long time.
safety.
if she was being honest, she had never really had a real relationship before. sure, she had a few relationships, but they had all ended a few months in. she's never felt like this before, she used to think that people were exaggerating when they said that they got butterflies in their stomach, but she had no other explanation for the light bubbly feeling that would fill her chest whenever he was close to her.
spirits, she couldnât watch him die. not like everyone else.
she could barely stand it when he took a rocket to the face. she couldn't stop thinking about the feeling of his hot blue blood on her hands as she cradled him in her arms, she refused to let him go even in the shuttle. she was completely stone faced after her initial cry out of his name, she steeled herself to be strong for her crew, but she wanted nothing more than to sob and yell at him for not watching his own 6 since he was always watching hers. when the got back to the normandy, chakwas had to kick her out multiple times while he was in surgery, insisting that her pacing and hovering was more of a hindrance than it was hepful. even though she knew that cerberus had brought her back from the dead, she was overcome with the worry that he wouldn't still be alive at the end of it. until he walked into the meeting room with a bandage on his face and the attitude "can't kill me that easily" that she's come to love about him, she had a tightness in her chest that had released as soon as she saw him upright. even though she was a little pissed that chakwas didn't immediately tell her when garrus was conscious again, it quickly dissipated with the relief of him being alive after everything.
shepard was unconsciously white-knuckling her fists so hard that her nails left red indents in her palms that almost drew blood. she couldn't let him wait outside her door forever.
maybe it was time to actually let someone in for once.
and who better to do it with than the person she trusted most in the galaxy?
"come in," she said softly, cursing herself under her breath as she heard her voice waver ever so slightly.
the door slid open and revealed garrus in the doorway, one of his hands sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. seeing him nervous was oddly comforting to her, maybe he was just as unsure as she was.
he cleared his throat and tensely straightened his back, âshepard, can we talk?â
she gulped and steadied herself the best she could, âof course," she choked out. she nodded to him and patted the space next to her on the bed, wanting to make this as casual as possible. get a grip girl! this wasn't just anyone, this was garrus, the person who had her six from the very beginning. the one who she looks to for support and advice, the one that she's truly fallen in love with. but she couldn't stop the tiny bit of doubt that was telling her that he would leave her just like everyone else.
he wouldn't.
....would he?
garrus could sense her weariness from a mile away as he approached her, tentatively sitting down in the spot next to her. she fidgeted with her hands and kept her gaze down, picking at her cuticles. garrus followed her gaze and carefully reached over, cupping her hands in his. she looked up into his beautiful blue eyes, searching for any indication as to what he might say next. he gazed back into her eyes with nothing but love and admiration filling them.
there's the butterflies.
garrus took a deep breath and brought their clasped hands up to his chest. âshepard, when i heard that earth fell to the reapers, i feared the worst. i thought i would never see you again and i would have to live with the regrets of what i wish i had done when we were together.â
shepard held her breath and could feel herself tearing up. oh god, she wanted to run, or maybe throw up? she couldnât tell but every instinct in her was telling her to flee, but for once, she didnât listen.
she wanted him by her side. no matter what the cost.
she had never felt like this before, never felt so strongly about anyone in her life.
and all she wanted was to run.
who does that?
but not this time.
this time, she would stay.
âshepard, i love you and i canât spend another second of my life without you being by my side. i only ask that youâll have me in return, if you feel the same way of course,â he said the last part so softly she wouldâve missed it if she wasnât so close to him. a tiny smile crept its way onto her face as she stared at their clasped hands, feeling the warms of this taloned fingers warming hers.
shepard took a deep breath and could feel her hands clam up. she was still shaking like an aspen tree in the wind. she looked up into his cerulian eyes, preparing herself to let him in more than anyone else in her life.
"garrus, i feel the same way, when i heard that palaven fell, all i could think about was how much i needed you to be okay. but i'm scared-" a forced chuckle leaving her lips,"-i'm honestly terrified. everyone who I've ever loved has died or left and i couldn't stand to see you-" her voice cracked as she rambled and tears betrayed her by falling from her eyes before she could even process their descent down her cheeks. garrus scooped her up in his arms and she pressed her face into his chest, clinging onto him like a small child holding onto a parent for comfort. he soothingly stroked her hair and held her as close to him as possible.
he pressed his lip plates against the crown of her head and rubbed her back, "i know you're scared shep, hell even i'm scared, and nothing scares turians," he said with a twinge of sarcasm in his tone as he poked fun at his own species.
she cracked a smile and sniffled, her breathing steadying out as she relaxed in his close embrace. she hated the doubt in the back of her head that was screaming that he would leave just like everyone else, but being this close to him and feeling the love in the way he held her close lowered the voice into a small whisper that she could barely hear anymore, until it fell completely silent.
and yet the words spilled out of her like bile, barely audible that he wouldâve missed if he wasnât so close, âplease donât leave me.â
garrus swiped his thumb softly against her cheek, hooking his talon under her chin and tilting it up to have her look up at him.
"shepard, i promise with all that i am that i wonât leave you. i don't know what the future holds for us, but the one thing i know is that i want to do it with you."
she nodded and felt her heart flutter at his supportive words, leaning her forehead back onto his chest to stay in his arms, even for just a little bit longer. the two of them stayed there for who knows how long, and frankly, neither of them cared.
her eyes burned when she finally pulled away and genuinely smiled at him with red puffy eyes. garrus combed his fingers through her hair and looked down at her with nothing but love in her eyes, âyou should know by now shepard, iâm hard to kill, and even harder to push away."
shepard scoffed and playfully hit his chest, "i know, i know."
the two sat in a comfortable silence, gratified by a moment of stillness in the chaos of the last 3 years have been for them. she had him and he had her, as long as that was true, they would be okay.

i might be a Lucien Stan but unlike some people I don't want to see Azriel die for the sake of my ship.
Like y'all are vassiens but also say Lucien would lose in a blood duel?
Losing in a blood duel literally means dying.
The debate is so silly on who would win. They are both powerful. However Lucien has more advantages.
He has light and fire (both things that defeat shadows)
He broke free of the king of hyberns MAGIC leashes while the HL who killed Amarantha and Rhysands dad with ease remained leashed.
He is heir to the daycourt. Becoming HL means you have the HL beast form.
Helions beast form:
Amethyst light swirled around him. Helion growled at Rhysâan order
Leaving the commander and Helion Spell-Cleaver to go head-to-head. Spell to spell.
If Rhys was a flying terror crafted from shadows and cold moonlight, Helion was his daytime equivalent.
So what we know is that Helion using the high lord beast form, is equal to Rhysand. We know he ORDERS Rhysand in that form. ALSO the spells? In acosf Helion says he knows spells that even Rhysand does not. Lucien can easily learn from helion and use all kinds of spells.
No because siphons can never defeat a high lords beast form. The power the high lord already has is intensified in that form. Bigger. Stronger. More powerful.
LAST OF ALL the difference between Az and Lucien is that Lucien would actually be fighting for his mate. Its Lucien who feels the anger with the bond towards his opponent. It is Lucien who carries the rare feelings of the mating bond.
Anyways all I'm saying is Lucien would obviously win. Although he says in Acowar that he would ask Rhysand advice on how he survived knowing his mate loved someone else. He would sit back and watch if Elain fell in love with Azriel. Lucien would do nothing to stop it. He would just mourn after her for the rest of his life.
E/riels know Lucien is patient with Elain. They know he gives her space. So they think Lucien would be the one to entertain the blood duel. No. he. would. not. Why don't e/riels see that Azriel is the only one who entertained the blood duel?
I am fully aware lots of e/riels and gwynriels give the personality of Lucien to Az but now e/riels are giving his cons to Lucien.
They think LUCIEN has one sided beef with Az.
They think LUCIEN wants to kill Azriel.
They think LUCIEN wants to kill a man over a woman who said she is not a child to be FOUGHT for.
They think LUCIEN arrogantly states that he can defeat another man.
They think LUCIEN views Elain as a precious small docile flower.
This is seriously not an Anti Azriel post. Let's just say Azriel is not in his element when in regards to Elain AND Mor. He has the same negative reactions to both of them.
Coming back to the point of my post
Lucien would defeat Azriel
Lucien would not entertain the blood duel
Lucien would mourn Elain forever
Azriel is the only one who has entertained the blood duel.

I Would Stay in Your Corner
Swercy but the roles are reverse (Swan is with the Orphans and Mercy is with the Warriors). It starts at the beginning of Orphan Town.
Everyday felt the same with the Orphans. They lived in a shitty part of town where basically no one came by. Their turf was of mediocre size at best especially considering how many members they were in the gang. It all started as a group to protect actual orphans from living in the street alone, before Sully, the new leader, decided to use the group for his own benefit.Â
Swan had entered the gang when she was a teenager running away from home. This place had been her home long enough for her to believe she couldnât find anything anywhere else. She had never really liked Sully, or most of the actual crew, but she stuck around for the youngest member. Those that, like her, just wanted a safe place to stay. Â
The Orphans werenât particularly nice and even less respected by others, but it was safer than being alone and she didnât have to worry about food or shelter. She spent her nights walking around their territory making sure no one disturbed them so that Sully wouldnât declare war on any other gang, and her days taking care of the younglings.Â
One night, as she was making usual rounds, she spotted a group of women, all in brown vest with a big red W on their back, the Warriors. Swan had heard of them, of course she had, Cleon, their leader, had imposed herself as a fearless chief chasing anyone with colors that stepped foot on her turf. From the birth of the Warriors, Cleon quickly surrounded herself with an equally scary inner circle. Swan knew of her three lieutenants by name and reputation: Ajax, the main enforcer, it was said that the girl could take down men twice her size easily; Cochise, the second ever member of the Warriors, people said about Cochise that she served in the actual military before joining a gang and was thus not afraid to kill if needed; And Mercy, the second in command, the word getting around was that Mercy was fearless, the girl would say and do anything she wanted just for fun, Sully called her âThe crazy chickâ.Â
Swan really didnât want to have to deal with this, but she also didnât feel like letting Sully and Jesse, the second in command, try to fight these girls. So with a groan she walked toward the warriors to meet them as they walked into Orphans territory, trying to catch them before Sully.
The Warriors just wanted to get home. The night had turned to shit when someone had shot Cyrus, seemingly blaming them for it. They were already tired from the Turnbull ACâs and the damn track fire. As second in command, Mercy had taken the lead, even after Ajax had objected and almost left them. Mercy knew it was just because Ajax was afraid to have actually lost Cleon, but Mercy and Ajax understood each other and worked well together. Maybe they didnât always make the most logical or safe choice, but they agreed on most things, so Ajax stuck around.Â
They walked for a few minutes before Rembrandt and Fox spoke one after the other. âScowling faces on the rooftopsâŠâ âI count thirty, maybe fortyâ. Mercy cursed herself for forgetting the Orphans' territory.  Â
âItâs just the Orphan, we can take this wimps no problem.â Said Ajax with a voice indicating clearly that she would be happy to fight them.Â
Mercy spotted a woman approaching them, not even trying to hide herself. She looked strong and very irritated to see them. âLetâs see if we can find another way out of this one, but kicking their ass is definitely plan Bâ, Mercy declared, making her way to stand face to face with the Orphan woman.Â
Swan watched as one of the girl separated herself from the group to block her path, probably their leader for that night. Swan had seen Cleon a long time ago and this girl was definitely not Cleon.Â
The girl stared at Swan with a big fake smile before exclaiming very sarcastically âSo nice of you to send us a welcome committee! But really we wonât be here long so you can go back where you come fromâ. Swan already hated her.
She gritted her teeth trying to stay calm and composed âYou shouldnât be hereâ. The rest of the girl crew were now just behind her, half of them keeping their eyes on the Orphans surrounding them, the other half looking at Swan and Mercy discussion.Â
"Well we are here. So what are you gonna do about it, pretty face?" Mercy took a step forward, bringing her close to Swan.
Swan scoffed unamused and unmoving "Ask you to leave before things go to shit".
"Think you can beat us with your little crew?" Mercy said has she leaned even more into Swan's personal space
Swan held her stare, challenging "I think we outnumber you by a lot so you should just go back where you came from before we decide to make you."
"Yo that's what we're trying to do!" A strong looking woman, probably Ajax though Swan, interjected.Â
"Well, find another way. No way Iâm letting a gang in colors pass through our territory." Swan says deadpan, eyes fixated on Mercy.Â
From behind Swan, two scrawny looking men approached the group. They look amused and way too full of themselves.Â
âWhat is this, a late-night cosmetology class?â Called out the tallest of the two, Sully. Jesse, the guy that was following him, laughed as if Sully was the funniest man alive. âYou must be lost! Can I see your hall pass?â The leader continued before laughing at his own dumb jokes.Â
Swan sighed heavily. She turned to glare at him. âSully, Iâm handling it. They were leaving, just like you.âÂ
The Warrior with a cowboy hat spoke up âYea, we were only passing through on our way downtown.â
Swan passed a hand in her hair, clearly done with the whole situation. She looked at the Warriors over her shoulder. âI wasnât letting you go through, yâa know.â
Mercy flashed her a flirtatious smile and batted her eyes âEven if we say please?â. Swan got taken by surprise and didnât respond right away. Sully jumped on the occasion to take control.
âSwanâs not the boss here, I am.â He puffed his chest, trying to look more imposing. âI can vouch for your safe release, if you come in peace.â
âWe do.â Quickly said Fox and Cowgirl in a seductive tone, while Mercy was still examining Swan, clearly amused by the whole thing.Â
âThen itâs settledâ. Sully said proud of himself.Â
Swan was becoming more and more mad with every single thing her âleaderâ was saying. âWhat the fuck Sully? You really just gonna let them go cause they said theyâre gonna be peaceful? What if they have weapons and try to take our turf?â
Mercy, who was now side by side with Swan, interrupted the conversation âWe promise we donât have anything on us. Weâre coming from that meeting in the boogie down, no gun aloud.â Swan studied Mercy trying to see if she was lying. She knew no weapon was aloud at that meeting and the Warriors didnât look like the kind to bring some anyway.
âWhat meeting?â, asked Sully confused.Â
Swan swiftly answered him, giving Mercy a death glare âYou know. The meeting Cyrus demanded. The one we definitely didnât want or need to go to cause weâre better than the othersâ. Swan knew it was bullshit. The truce could have helped them immensely, but she had to make Sully think it was his idea not to go and make him forget that they simply didnât get an invitation.
âOh the dumb meeting we lost the invitation too. Of course!â exclaimed Sully, sure of himself. âWell in that case you can go. Donât forget to tell everyone how the Orphans got pity on you and let you pass!â This dumbass is happy about it, though Swan. She groaned but said nothing more as the Warriors started making their way through the Orphans turf.Â
Sully and Jesse were talking between them while Swan stayed a bit farther pondering on why she was staying with these idiots. As the warriors were marching forth, Mercy stopped and looked behind her. She gave Swan an inviting smile âYou look way too good to be with these bitches. Wanna come with us?âÂ
The Warriors were walking away, not waiting for them as Swan had to make a decision that could change her life. She took a deep breath and looked at the Orphans proud of themselves for doing nothing. Maybe she could find something better for the youngest member and bring them back with her in the future. Maybe she could finally do something other than survive. Swan started walking in the direction of the Warriors not knowing how the rest of the night was gonna go. Mercy smiled, truly happy for the first time that night.Â

cleaned up my ocs ref sheets for art fight...here my guys are (:
in order: ai, adalia, arha, william, and qiu
some details abt them under the cut
ai: 23. major cunt but that's not her goal so she can be very thoughtful other times. she's just very bitter abt some stuff and tunnel-visioned on finding her brother and it seeps into a lot of her interactions w ppl. shes not very well liked cause of this LOL. she gets annoyed easily but it fades as fast as it comes. she learns how to appreciate the ppl in her life in the story and how to let go of ghosts
adalia: 17. young and excited and very puppy-dog like at first. despite this she's the tallest of the gang. really looks up to ai cause ai saved her from being kicked by a horse once and adalia is like whoaa cool soldier and follows her like, well, a puppy. adalia joins the army herself and one thing leads to another and she kills someone and has a whole nihilistic phase over it. she gets better but she doesnt return to her puppy dog state once she does. she basically Matures. throughout the story
arha: 23. major chip in her shoulder about proving herself and outpacing her peers. as such she can be honestly kinda mean đ very ambitious and prides herself on knowing What's Going On and knowing people. it's a shame she doesnt really know ppl or even much of what's going on. she learns she doesnt know and then learns how and what and also humbles a bit. loves magic always shows off. big "high self confidence low self esteem" conflict
william: 46. ai and adalia's battalion commander. he's similar to adalia, kinda goofy and kind hearted, but he's much quieter about it. to be honest not the best leader but he watches over his troops and he's been in the army all his adulthood so he's been put in his position. has a kinda renown for getting soldiers to warm up to well authority due to his lax nature which is why ai was shoved onto his troop (and adalia volunteered later cause she wanted to be with ai)
qiu: 18. ai's brother. very blunt and kinda apathetic but greatly enamored with the natural world around him. loves working with his hands. bit of a pyromaniac, has fire magic. very against war, think kinda similar to how princess mononoke (character) was ferociously against industrialization
some brief world notes: it's a high fantasy story. there has been a 100 years long war over a lost magical artifact between two countries, one of which is ai/adalia/william's, and the other of which is arha's. when qiu is around seven and ai is like 12/13, their village is raided and qiu and ai are separated. unbeknownst to ai, qiu ends up with dragons who help him heal from his leg wound. ai, despite not knowing dragons took him to safety, still refuses to believe he's dead which is what everyone else thinks, and joins the military to use it as an excuse to go out and search for him. this is how she meets william and adalia. along the way while doing what she has to to remain in the army, they find and fight arha, who eventually teams up with them. and yeah plot moves from there

Yandere alphabet for Moira Overwatch please if that's OK? OwO
Sure! I don't mind! Using a GIF from Tumblr again!
Yandere Alphabet - Moira O'Deorain
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Sadism, Human experimentation, Kidnapping implied, Isolation, Possessive behavior, Jealousy, Lack of empathy (Moira), Drugging implied, Marking mention, Hickeys/Hickies implied, Violence, Murder mention, Manipulation, Forced relationship.
Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?
Moira is rather sadistic, even when it comes to her darling. Her affection is often a method of experimentation in many ways. She'll poke and prod at you all while praising you and kissing you, telling you that you're her little experiment.
Her affection and obsession is intense. She isn't usually very gentle and makes it clear you're hers. She may treat you like an experiment at times, but she rewards you after whatever you go through.
Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?
When it comes to Moira she can get as messy as she wants. Although⊠Why kill those who bother you when you can just experiment with them?
She'll be quite sadistic with those who cross you and her. With you she's gentle⊠with anyone else?
Well⊠they aren't let off so easily.
Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?
Moira is sometimes mocking but it isn't very often with you. She has a soft spot for you, even during small experiments she conducts on you. Speaking of whichâŠ
When Moira takes you in she both treats you as a lover and an experiment. She doesn't do anything too damaging to you as she cares. Although if she knows a procedure will benefit you or her, she'll do it to you.Â
Being her darling is an odd experience as you aren't sure if you are her lover or a lab rat.
Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darlingâs will?
Most likely.
Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?
Moira isn't a very vulnerable yandere, in fact she lacks empathy at times. She's vulnerable in the sense of if someone took you she'd do anything to have you back. Yet in terms of opening up to you, not really her thing.
Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?
It could both irritate and excite her. Moira has a sadistic personality at times so seeing you fight just gives her a new game to play. On the other hand⊠she would prefer an obedient darling that listens to her every command.
Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?
Sometimes it's all a sadistic game to her, sometimes it isn't.
Hell: What would be their darlingâs worst experience with them?
When it comes to Moira a lot of experiences with her can be hell. I'd have to say whenever she experiments with you. There's some pain yet she always shushes you in an attempt to comfort.
She's simply trying to help you⊠don't you believe her?
She's lying and you know it.
Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?
Moira plans to have you and her live in a better world. To make that happen she must expand her knowledge. At least⊠that's what she tells you as she pricks at your skin, making your vision woozy as she coos over you.
Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?
Moira's jealousy manifests as irritation. She appears to be annoyed when there's other people around you. Especially if she's already claimed you as hers through her experiments.
She'd try to cope before targeting the person she's upset about. Afterwards⊠she gets a new experiment to play around with.
Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?
Moira is mostly stoic and often brushes things off. However, with you she shows preference that others can sense. Why else does she hover around you?
Plus⊠they can tell she's taken you as hers. How? There's signs of experimentation⊠along with marks on your skin made by her lips.
Moira is possessive. She toys with her darling and marks them as hers. She acts cold with others⊠but you?
Well⊠the scientist just can't help but indulge.
Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?
She starts things slow, building your trust like luring a new rabbit to research. The attraction to you most likely started first⊠which made her want to experiment on you. After all⊠you make her feel all strange.
Moira manipulates you into trusting her right up until she has her claws on you. Like a huntress who finally caught her game⊠she steals you away. Moira knows how to use her wordsâŠ
Maybe you should've listened to the warnings others gave you about her?
Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?
Not really.
Naughty: How would they punish their darling?
Harsher experimentation, maybe restraints. She doesn't want to have to hurt you⊠yet if you keep fighting⊠she might as well get some more results.
She tries to limit punishment though, wouldn't to lose her most precious rabbit, right?
Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?
Most likely a lot of them.
Patience: How patient are they with their darling?
She can be patient⊠but she has her limits.
Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?
She probably will⊠but she has a hard time feeling the same spark with anyone else.
You were just so⊠special. She misses it. Odd for her to say⊠but you really did mean a lot to her.
Perhaps she can⊠bring you back? That's possible⊠right? She'll have to tryâŠ.
Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?
No and most likely not.
Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?
Just her nature in general along with curiosity.
Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?
She'll wait it out, she isn't the best with comfort. When you calm down she'll try conversation. She doesn't jump to comfort you like a lot of other yanderes, but she does care somewhat.
Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?
Experimentation⊠that just about covers it.
Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?
Hard to say/None I can think of.
Witâs end: Would they ever hurt their darling?
Yes.
Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?
Not a worship yandere but would probably kill to keep you.
Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?
She doesn't snap, everything is deliberately planned.
Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?
Yes.

Okay okay sooooo!!! For the OC asks
Hikari - 3, 14, 17
Nene - 1, 19, 22
Tsuyomi - 2, 4, 6
omg. hello. your wish is my command
nene
1 â what memory would (nene) rather just forget?
post-canon? the kira case. duh
however, for before the case, there was a conversation she had with hikari that basically put them on their respective paths. and the more time passes, the more she wishes she hadnât said anything at all. you can guess what that means.
19 â how does (nene) behave when enraged?
so nene doesnât get mad easily, but when she does, sheâs dead silent. sheâs the kind of person who deeply enjoys running her mouth, so enough strong emotions leave her speechless. also thereâs no way in hell she knows how to manage those emotions. her parents are lawmane ffs đ
22 âwhat character alignment would you consider (nene) to be?
iâd say neutral good. sheâs not the best person but she tries to act in ways that benefit people in her own unorthodox ways. the only reason sheâs neutral instead of chaotic is that she does still have a moral code. itâs just much looser. she doesnât think itâs right to break rules or anything but she just likes expanding on them. like yeah donât kill people just ruin their life in other ways.
hikari
3 â what is hikariâs fatal flaw? is (he) aware of this flaw?
oh this oneâs easy. his desire to be the best. itâs literally the only thing heâs ever wanted. he wants to be enough to be praised by his family. he wants to be enough to beat nene. and once he reunites with light, he just wants to make him proud. no matter how much it hurts.
the worst part is that he thinks this is what makes him valuable. he believes that if heâs not chosen as the best, heâs not worth anyoneâs time and will rot at the bottom of society. he thinks his drive is enough to put him above the rest: that he canât fail because heâs trying so so hard. this is why heâs alive. and from the outside, it just hurts to watch.
14 â how does (hikari) want to be seen by other characters?
i said above that he wants to be the best, but thereâs a lot more to that. he wants to be a perfect son, because heâs sick of being told everything he does is sufficient. he wants to be the top student, because if he doesnât do that, no one takes him seriously.
he basically wants to be seen like how light was. but heâs not effortless at it like nene. and that fact kills him inside. he just wants to be perfect for everyone. he wants to be admired.
17 â whatâs the worst thing you have put (hikari) through storywise?
i mean. spoilers. but he does almost die at multiple points. no details
tsuyomi
2 â whatâs something about (tsuyomi) that people wouldnât expect just from looking at (her)?
tsuyomi is someone taken at face value. sheâs matsudaâs kid, so thatâs to be expected.
as i mentioned a while back, her mom died when she was young, so she had to grow up quickly to help her dad around the house. she has this kind of mother bear instinct that people wonât expect from a silly goofy goober. she can handle herself, and if anyone touches someone or something she cares about, they better run.
4 â when scared, does (tsuyomi) fight, flee, freeze, or fawn?
something between freeze and fight. if sheâs alone, sheâll freeze. because sheâs terrified of what awaits after death. obviously in death note, thereâs no afterlife, but she doesnât know that. the idea of being trapped somewhere for eternity, maybe even hell, scares her.
with people, ESPECIALLY nene, she will fight. she forces them behind her while she either yells or straight up takes something on to give her loved ones time to flee. itâs not always the best idea, but she takes self defense classes (nene does too but tsuyomi would never let her get attacked). this has no bearing on the plot whatsoever what are you talking about
6 â how easily could (tsuyomi) be convinced to do something that goes against (her) moral compass?
she has less black and white perceptions than everyone else, so it wouldnât be impossible. itâs still hard though.
she doesnât take the threat of kira lightly (hahahaha) so she could NEVER side with him. this comes back to the fear of death. she wouldnât let anyone die because of her. not after losing her mom. but if it was something like shoplifting then yeah she would do it
anyways ty for the ask!!!! this was so fun

Can we get male warrior reader?
When reader was alive he was considered the strongest in his army leading to countless victories for his people and kingdom
He dedicated his whole life to the wellfare of his kingdom that he never felt rhe need to find someone to settle down with an his life.
When he goes to valhalla he meets jack and is amazed by his fighting skills. The thing about reader he has any ability similar to jacks that allows him to see the guilt in their hearts and jack was the definition of a warrior.
Reader gets on one knee to ask Jack for his permission to court him much to the shock of the little valkerye that partner up with him during his fight (I cant remember her names only that she makes me mad)
Reader is quick to send her a glare that is colder than Odins at her behavior and is quick to remind her that if jack was truly evil than her sister wouldnt have allowed him to step into the battlefield for humanity.
-Y/N, regarded as one of the best rulers in history, not just in your own country, but throughout the world, your name always comes up for great leaders and itâs rightfully earned.
-You were a proud warrior, focusing on protecting your people rather than conquering, but if another empire tried to do the same to you, you had no issues beating them and taking their empire as payment.
-To you, your people, those who looked up to you to not only lead them but to protect them, were the most important thing in your empire, because without them, you couldnât call yourself a true emperor.
-Under your rule nobody went without anything, everyone had a home, a job, clean clothes, food, water, access to doctors, children of any status had the right to go to school for at least basic education, and due to everything, your nation thrived.
-However, many thought it was odd, despite your successes, despite everything you did, you never took a spouse, and never had any children.
-Nobody, not even those closest to you, could ever figure out this mystery and the secret died with you.
-The secret wasnât anything bad, but to others they would see it as something not warranting your lifelong celibacy, but to you, it ate you up inside.
-Despite all the good, all the people you saved, you could only remember those that you failed, those who died under your protection or under your command, and those that died, those that you failed, their loss weighed heavily on your mind.
-You felt like you didnât deserve to bring new life into the world when lives were lost under you.
-Even after you passed and in Valhalla, you rejected all advances of others who wanted a relationship with such an emperor, you only accepted friendships with other warriors you found, bonding over sparring matches, as you enjoyed not having to hold back.
-Ragnarok was announced and Brunnhilde asked you to fight for humanity, but surprisingly you hesitated, not giving an immediate answer. Brunnhilde knew your aversion of taking life, despite your strength to easily do so, as you only took the lives of those who deserved it, criminals and monsters who would only hurt others for pleasure and gain.
-You agreed eventually and Brunnhilde surprised you, being accommodating to you, telling you that you would be a reserve fighter, a backup and you agreed, feeling more willing to fight.
-You remained in your quiet viewing room, sitting on a large plush chair, watching the matches, cheering for humanity and mourning the warriors- noâŠmourning the friends that youâve lost.
-You sought out Kojiro personally, thanking him for his hard earned win and he beamed brightly, thanking you before you returned to watch the next fight.
-Your eyes were wide, learning of the next person, Jack the Ripper, only⊠this wasnât the true Jack the Ripper, as you killed him when he arrived in Valhalla years ago, after he went after innocent women and you ended his short reign of terror almost instantly.
-This was someone else and Brunnhilde, who entered your room shortly after the fight started, as she knew you would have questions and she told you that this man, Jack, took the mantle of the original Jack the Ripper on Earth, after killing him.
-You were surprised to learn that Jack was still a killer, but one with morals, as he killed killers, he went after people who attacked and killed other people, turning himself into a vigilante.
-You were confused, watching the screen, âThen why does he take the abuse if he knows the truth?â Brunnhilde sighed through her nose, a bit exasperated, âHeâs much like you- he would rather take all the bad in the world for himself to protect those who need more good.â
-You paused at her words, but said nothing more and she left after a while, returning to her own viewing area, leaving you to watch Jackâs impressive combat skills.
-You couldnât look away from him, every move was so graceful, even the way he spoke was so elegant, never yelling or raising his voice, he always seemed level-headed and even toned. Your heart leapt to your throat when he fell upon the gate spike, which made you pause, lifting your hand to your chest, feeling your heart hammering in your chest. You had never felt like this before!
-You could see the anguish on Jackâs face as Hercules faded, and you grew angry at the crowds who threw rocks and tomatoes at Jack, calling him a murderer. However, they did nothing in the earlier matches, when others died. Their hypocrisy was infuriating.
-Jack was not expecting to see you running towards him, your inner colors blazing with nothing but concern as he was finally allowing himself to be weak, limping backstage, clutching the wound on his stomach.
-You surprised Jack once more by easily sweeping him into your arms princess style, âLetâs get you to the infirmary!â Jack was stunned, his eyes wide as he wasnât used to this, someone caring for him as well as someone carrying him like he was a maiden.
-Jack held his hat to his face which was now blazing red as you kicked the door to the infirmary open, seeing Brunnhilde there, waiting for Jack to arrive but she was surprised to see you there as well, carrying Jack.
-You sat Jack on the bed so the nurses could get work and stepped back, allowing Brunnhilde to approach you but before she could speak Hlokk, Jackâs partner ran in, wanting to see Jack after Brunnhilde told her to meet her at the infirmary.
-Hlokk pouted lightly, seeing Jack, not as angry as when she first had to join with Jack, as she realized what her sister had done, mainly because she knew her younger sister wouldnât come and see him in the infirmary after how she acted. She was going to wait until he was released to see how he was doing.
-She glared up at Brunnhilde while you kept your eyes on Jack who was actually trying to avoid your eyes, seeing your blaring colors, they were so bright, so true, seeing anger, concern, and the one he was shying away from was love.
-Hlokkâs voice interrupted your gaze, as you were seeing all the wounds he had, making sure he was being taken care of, âI still canât believe you made me partner with that.â Brunnhilde folded her arms across her chest, staring disapprovingly down at her, âBut you know the truth now, this isnât the real Jack the Ripper.â
-Hlokkâs glare didnât falter, âBut heâs still killed lots of people!â You saw Jackâs gaze falter for only a moment before you turned, giving the young Valkyrie a glare which shut her up, âBrunnhilde wouldnât have partnered her sister up with a killer. Lots of people have killed others, itâs the way of warriors, you fight and kill to survive, or be killed yourself.â
-Jack was stunned, seeing you defend him while Hlokk shut up, her gaze falling before she apologized, having not thought about it that way before she hugged her sister, forgiving her before turning to Jack, âMake sure you rest- you always push yourself too hard!â
-Jack took the scolding with a small laugh, âYes maâam!â Hlokk pouted, her hands on her hips before she poked at his cheek, telling him not to sass her which made him laugh more.
-You remained quiet until he was completely taken care of and once he was in clean clothes, he bowed his head lightly to you, âAnd thank you, sir, for bringing me here.â
-Jack was not prepared for you to kneel before him, taking one of his hands in your own, âI would do anything for you, honorable one. Will you allow me to court you?â
-Everyone turned white in shock except for you, staring at you in shock before Jack stammered, his stoic and calm façade giving way to a bright red face and stammering voice, unsure about what was happening.
-Jack could see that you were completely serious, every color he could see blaring back at him, your unwavering eyes, you were serious.
-Jack once again hid his face behind his hat, not knowing what type of face he was making, which you did think was rather cute as Brunnhilde patted you both on the head like she was the mother of you both, âCongratulations, but before any wedding planning can happen, we need to focus on winning Ragnarok.â
-Jack stammered, embarrassed at the thought of wedding planning before you turned to the Valkyrie, âIf I need to fight, call me, and I will.â She was stunned to see you looking so determined, especially after your initial hesitance, but agreed and the two sisters left.
-You offered a hand to Jack who did hesitate, something you noticed, but didnât berate him on. You did realize how strong you did come onto him, but you were serious, never in your life and your afterlife did you ever find someone that you felt such a pull to, and by the way Jack was acting, he was in a similar boat, as he had never seen someoneâs emotions towards him so clearly, it was⊠unsettling but also breathtaking.
-You invited Jack back to your room to rest and get something to eat and you were surprised when he agreed, but after you exited the room, you stepped to the side to give him his space, not wanting him to be uncomfortable, but when he grabbed your sleeve like he was a child, you were stunned.
-You could see his hesitance and you made a promise to yourself to not push him, you didnât want to scare him away, but you had a feeling he wasnât going to be so easily scared.

EIHF again. :)
1) Your Balerion post makes me so sad. Viserys is a swan in a human form. He mates for life. He can give his heart only once. Balerion, Aemma, Daemon, Rhaenyra. There may be other wives, other daughters, other brothers, but the connection will never be like the first. I really believe had his baby brother Aegon lived, that relationship would have been even more strained than his relationship with Daemon. He already has a brother. That box has been ticked. To say nothing of the fact that his birth resulted in Alyssa's death.
2) Viserys has some deeply rooted abandonment problems, which he generously passes on to everyone else! Above all, being crowned was just a deeply alienating experience. It fractured every relationship he had. I have to believe (particularly for HOTD Viserys) that Jaehaerys strong-armed him into bringing his claim to the Great Council, and there's some resentment towards him there. Maybe at some point, he believed the Crown could bind his Favorite People to him forever.
3) There's like, what, a 24-hour jump between,"I don't want to command her," and, "Her wishes are irrelevent," re: Rhaenyra getting married. He really does not want to be her King, but when he decides he must, he's out here killing flies with a sledgehammer. He never finds the balance with anyone, but especially not with Rhaenyra. She is comfortable in her own skin, certain of her own mind in a way he never has been, and I think it baffles him.
1. someone left a tag on one of my other viserys and balerion posts that was like âwhy is this viserys most loyal relationshipâ that made me laugh a bit cause, yeah, it was! he mightve cheated on both his wives, but balerion, oh, balerion was *special*. he was viserys one true love and his closest partner. he would never have another relationship like balerion.
thats an interesting thought about aegon, when ive thought about if he lived ive usually thought about how it would affect daemon. but i can see it. my âolder boysister that raised meâ viserys wouldve done his duty and raised aegon and taken care of him, but he would never love him the way he loved daemon. and that wouldve been apparent to aegon. both brothers (viserys subconsciously, daemon consciously) wouldve probably blamed him for alyssas death as well⊠only deeping the divide between the three
aemma however⊠i think we need to define âloveâ. cause while i do think viserys loved aemma while she was alive, a sort of âthis was an arranged marriage but weve made it workâ type thing, how much of viserys enduring love for her is truly âloveâ quote unquote vs the martyization of her in his mind and his enduring guilt for having killed her. maybe thats what you meant, but to me viserys âlovedâ her much more after she died, in a way.
2. oh absolutely. he grew up watching his family drop dead around him, both his parents died, his dragon died. that thing he says to rhaenyra about how âtheir line is too easily extinguishedâ. those abandonment issues is why he holds so tightly to those hes decided are His (but even thats paradoxical, his attention his very fleeting!)
ive always thought that daemon started gathering swords to âdefendâ viserys claim without asking if viserys even wanted his claim defended! i think that even though baelon was heir, it never really clicked with viserys that meant he was next? so when baelon died viserys just wanted to mourn his father but everyones looking at him expecting him to take the crown. i really like the idea that it was jaehaerys that had to push him up to the plate
3. correct me if im wrong but wasnt the âher feelings are irrelevantâ comment was made about rhaenyra getting married in General, since she said she does not want to marry? but im just splitting hairs. cause he still does do that severe flip from father to king when he tells rhaenyra she will be marrying laenor, and wont hear any argument about it. he does it to daemon time and time again. he doesnt know how to juggle the roles of king and father and brother. something else im gonna blame on jaehaerys, who was absolutely using his power as king against his family. and even though i think viserys has some heavy cognitive dissonance about jaehaerys, he at some level Knows how hard he was on family, and Doesnt want to be like that. but also doesnt have any good refrences on how to balance those roles properly.
i think that thing he said to rhaenyra about how âeven he does not exist above tradition and dutyâ comment was soo telling. viserys did not WANT to get remarried, he even says to alicent that he never imagined he would marry again! (an aside: imagine what his heavily pregnant wife thought hearing that. lol) after aemma died i think he wanted to do the same thing his father did; remain forever a widower to âhonorâ his wifes memory, but he wasnt strong enough to even hold himself to that. i think viserys is very self conscious, and has more or less just done what the people around him have expected him to do. so when rhaenyra is willing to stand up for herself and wants to live her life Her Way, its very baffling and frustrating and when hes being honest with himself, admirable.
#sorry i always wall of text but yr asks are so interesting#viserys i targaryen#asoiaf#hotd#asks#my posts

Hamlet Liveblog 2011, ACT TWO
I found a notebook from college when I went through the text of Hamlet line by line, and now I'm sharing the best parts! Act One
Act II, Scene 1
People who deserve backstory: - Reynaldo - Polonius current Will: I have always been exactly this way, omg
2.1.64 "by indirections find directions out" - theme of the whole freaking play! Polonius is maybe not as much of a fool as he seems. Similar to Hamlet pretending to be mad
2.1.88-89 "he fell to such perusal of my face / As a would draw it" - he wants to remember her as she is before he loses it - and he knows he will
Why stage it like this? Perhaps it is more effective to see his madness through the eyes of someone else
2.1.100 "This is the very ecstasy of love, whose violent property fordoes itself" - now he believes that Hamlet loves Ophelia and that it's killing him to be repelled like this (Perhaps it is)
Act II, Scene 2
2.2.6-7 "Sith nor the exterior nor the inward man / resembles that it was." - what people see and what Hamlet contemplates
2.2.28-29 "Put your dread pleasures more into command / than to entreaty" - Rosencrantz doesn't understand why the majesties are not following the status quo - are they on friendly terms? He doesn't know
2.2.70 "Never more to give the assay of arms against your majesty" Does this mean Claudius has no more foreign relations to deal with? Now Shakespeare can move onto what he really cares about: the domestic/internal stage. current Will: This was partially correct! I was drawing a connection to Othello and Macbeth, where the foreign armies are defeated offstage very early on and never really come up again, and it's true that Fortinbras becomes less of the focus for a while, but he's still a threat on the edges of the play.
2.2.93-94 "Mad call I it, for to define true madness, What is't but to be nothing else but mad?" - You'll drive yourself crazy trying to figure out what madness is, or you'll avoid the question and never know if you're insane or not. In short, this place is a madhouse.
2.2.139 "He is a prince, out of thy star" - again with the celestial spheres and orbits!
2.2.160 "I'll loose my daughter to him" - she's a tool or plot device
2.2.174 "for if the sun breed maggots in a dead dog" - what does this have to do with honesty? When there's no integrity, lies grow easily; or a cute girl in the public gaze gets pregnant and diseased
2.2.201-203 Polonius: Will you walk out of the air, my lord? Hamlet: Into my grave? Polonius: Indeed, that's out of the air. Hamlet is considering his own mortality, but Polonius turns his comment into a joke
2.2.209-210 "You cannot take from me anything that I will more willingly part withal; except my life, except my life, except my life" Hamlet is tired of Polonius and his mindless words, and he's also still thinking of death, so he wants to die and finds it fitting that Polonius would be the one to kill him
2.2.215 Guil: My honored lord (formal) Ros: My most dear lord (impulsive and trusting)
2.2.234-5 "Denmark's a prison" - Hamlet's bound by fillial duty to seek reveng, and he needs to watch as his uncle slips into his father's throne and sheets "Then is the world one" - Rosencrantz is trapped by trying to figure out where he is and why, so he has no free will, no reference point, besides Guil, who's just as confused but more upset
2.2.242-43 "I could be bounded in a nutshell and count myself king of infinite space, were it not that I have bad dreams" Okay, there's a lot of stuff here - hints of claustrophobia; wants to be king somewhere; is it the infinity of space that gives him the dreams, or would he already have them? universes within universes, relative sizes, and the suffocating distance between electrons nutshells associated with fairies and Queen Mab, which is appropriate since she blows men's dreams way out of proportion
(and then I tried very earnestly to analyze the whole "a dream itself is but a shadow" dialogue, but mostly through the lens of coming up with headcanons for Ros and Guil, which is not a very good critical lens actually, and twelve years later it makes approximately zero sense, so I'll spare us all)
2.2.256 "In the beaten way of friendship" - it's like a beaten path, so longstanding, but also maybe just there out of habit and no real affection; or beaten like broken down and in disrepair because he doesn't trust them and has bigger things on his mind
2.2.262-63 "Come, deal justly with me" - genuinely hurt that they don't tell him the truth, also perhaps an order to obey "come, come, nay, speak" - in some versions he actually says 'knave', which belies his claims of friendship earlier "What should we say, my lord?" - Guil is hurt by this; maybe Ros was gesturing and trying to communicate something, or he was trying to figure something out. Anyway, Guil was jolted into the present and remembered about delving
2.2.271 - "by the obligation of our ever preserved love" - Hamlet uses their prior relationship (may be present still) to pressure them into telling him everything. He might not really value them anymore and is jealous of the love they bear each other, (and wonders why he can't have the same with Horatio)
Question: Would R&GaD have gone any differently if they knew about the ghost?
2.2.282-290 He knows that man and earth and sky are beautiful "majestical" creatures, but can't feel it and sees it all as "this quintessence of dust"; "What a piece of work is man!" Is he admiring mankind (in theory) or is he judging R + G for being sneaky? Or mocking them because they have no "apprehension" at all? (well, fear, but no understanding)
2.2.439 "like a neutral to his will and matter did nothing" - unable to think or act, like Hamlet hesitates to just kill Claudius
oh, interesting, I thought that the Hecuba speech was foreshadowing for Ophelia losing her mind after Polonius is killed, and not Hamlet being preoccupied with Gertrude's reaction to her husband's death! I think this has to be because I was unfamiliar with the Pyrrhus and Priam story
The Player can stir up passion in himself for a fictional character, but Hamlet can't do anything with his real motive. All people are characters for him, so he can sympathize with any of them.
2.2.550-51 "If a do blench, I know my course" - somewhat overreactionary (sic), but better than not doing anything; of course Hamlet can make himself see anything (see Othello's "ocular proof")
#hamlet#polonius#ophelia#claudius#rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead#act ii scene 2 is Very Long#i left out a LOT of stuff that's either basic or uninteresting but there's still just So Much

Happy Wednesday! Your questions are...
đȘ - Genre swap! Your characters are in a horror movie! How does it go? Who dies first, and who (or what) is the killer?
đŹ - Body swap! Two of the characters in your WIP have switched bodies. How do they react? Do they get up to any sort of mischief with their newfound form, or are they just miserable?
HI, so sorry it's taken so long to get around to answering these for you. Going to place the answers under a cut to save peoples' dashes
đȘ - Genre swap! Your characters are in a horror movie! How does it go? Who dies first, and who (or what) is the killer?
I'll keep this answer to the "main cast" because that's what I tend to do for these kinds of questions.
Since all four characters are basically your standard goody two-shoes types, we'll go with someone else being the killer. If they're in a slasher movie, then the priestly powers of three of them won't necessarily save them (because in any other kind of horror movie those are basically cheat!mode). I've also watched enough slasher films to know exactly how the logic works ;).
The first to die will likely be Selene. The girl is super smart, but she is incredibly lacking in the common sense department and is exactly the type to go investigate weird and wonderful noises because she is just like that. She's also not very strong physically and can and will be easily overpowered if she's stuck in a corner.
The rest will manage to outrun and outsmart the killer for most of the rest of the movie, but it's likely that Edwin will be the next to go because, while he's against killing as a principal generally, he will be totally wanting to annihilate the killer for getting Selene. Sadly slasher movie logic dictates that this will end with his demise.
The last one to go will be Yoruk, who will inevitably sacrifice himself to allow Merri to kill the killer in turn. Why do these two survive so long? Easy. Both of them have a lot of actual combat experience and have sparred alongside each other for most of their lives and work extremely well together. Yoruk is also exactly the type of person who is willing to get themselves killed to let his partner have an opening to strike at.
đŹ - Body swap! Two of the characters in your WIP have switched bodies. How do they react? Do they get up to any sort of mischief with their newfound form, or are they just miserable?
Oh, for a body swap I'm definitely going with Adrian and Thazaar! This is just for the lolz because Thazaar is going to hate it.
For context, Adrian is a reformed necromancer, who is now using his powers to help the people of Toreguarde after defecting from the Bad!Guy Wizard group who created the portal to the Pit that sits under the wizard's tower in the first place. Thazaar is Selene's second in command and is basically an Aasimar (with a Firre heritage), who despises necromancy in all its forms.
Thazaar reacts... poorly to the swap; demanding that the tower's staff do everything in their power to reverse things immediately. The feeling of necromancy magic makes him itch, so being in a body that is suffused with that power is actually traumatising. He'll do everything he can to refrain from casting anything, and will likely spend the whole duration of the swap pestering Selene and Dwena about reversing it and refusing to converse with Adrian's various assistants, who are very confused and upset about their master's sudden change in personality.
Adrian is a much more laid-back fellow, so while celestial magic, likewise, makes him itch in his normal body, the swap isn't quite so psychologically breaking for him. In fact; he sees it as an opportunity to learn more about how Celestial magic works since it's basically a fusion of divine and arcane magic in one place. He'll likely spend his time testing out spells and figuring out the mechanics so he can use them when he gets back to his own body again. He'll probably spend a few hours talking to Thazaar and trying to get his fellow wizard to calm down and realise that he's got an opportunity to gain a brand new perspective, which falls entirely on deaf ears.

Retreat
Previous Chapter
"Mustn't waste a prize specimen like Annie." Armin's words were all lies but they were dark and pushing just enough as he spoke. His tone lifeless and monotone while his eyes were wide and focused as he spent seconds egging on Bertholdt. "She's too percious."
It seemed that was enough for Bertholdt to snap as he thought about his long time crush being tortured. "Shut your mouth, hell spawn! I'll kill you!" His words coming out like a sudden blast as he glared at Armin not once noticing Alia.
The girl had gotten close enough to jump off her horse--using Erwin's ODM gear rather easily as she came accustom to it within seconds. With her hair messy and flying behind her--her makeshift bandages of clothes loosening to be free, and her movement pure, she came in flying.
"Cant let you do that" Getting between Bertholdt and Armin she swiped her blade down and cut at the cloth that was holding Eren to Bertholdt in the first place. It was as if she was in slow motion again as she stared at Bertholdt.
Even if they had came to an understanding. Had a heart to heart conversation of it all. Alia was going to fight him regardless as he was going to fight them for his family as well. Falling down faster she flipped her body to have her back facing the two who cared for but wasn't for any longer.
With her gear she blasted off to the direction of her horse just as Commander Erwin came in with his own horse having picked up the pace after Alia left him behind. His order clear and loud as they took a break from Reiner's titan, the surrounding titans ready to eat him, and a hanging Bertholdt.
"All soldiers, RETREAT!"
Landing on her horse with ease, Alia turned to Mikasa and Jean who were closest to her. Commander Erwin not far in front of them. "What I tell yah Eren?!" Her accent coming in thick as she gained the boy's attention.
His eyes tearful but soft and relieved to see her alive. Though with his mouth gag he couldn't saying to her. "I told yah i would fight fer yah! Until my last breath!" She let out a loud shout as she gripped onto her reigns again. The adrenaline pumping high that with all her mixed emotions she knew one thing.
She was fighting for her friends and the humanity she knew.
Jean let out a laugh as he came in closer to her side. "You can never let someone else fight huh?" His words light and not for a jab because he was glad to see they did it. They got Eren back even if it was her who cut him out.
But then again out everyone he should've known that it would be her. She cared about her people--her family too much to let them just be taken. Mikasa let out a breath feeling more thankful for Alia then anyone else right now.
"Thank you Alia" The black haired girl muttered as she held Eren into her side more. Her words made Alia's attention go from Jean to her. The blonde just smiled as she shook her head. "No need for thanks...." She glanced back to Reiner's titan form.
Feeling a little damped knowing they may die. "Let's just get back home and we'll call it a thank you there" Turning back to Mikasa she hoped that nothing else would happen now. "Now that sounds like a plan" Jean called between them.
They all wanted to go back home now that they got Eren back.
---
With their luck nothing could ever go as wanted. Never.
Out nowhere a tian came hurling above them and right in front of them. Rolling like a ball as it came within their path. "You've got to be kidding me!" Alia shouted out with more annoyance then fear.
The other's even Jean and Mikasa didnt say anything beside her that she scoffed knowing where the titan had came from. Reiner. He was going to die trying to stop them. And on all honesty she could give him credit for that.
Even if he was a pain in the ass for the them right now.
Splitting apart to avoid the debris coming towards them. Though they couldn't do much with another titan being hurled at them again. Amongst the chaos, Alia found herself by a fallen Commander Erwin.
The man watching as one of his soldier be eaten right in front of him. Knowing that they both needed a horse she stayed on her own and picked up the pace to get to him. Without saying a word she leaned down close to her horse.
Narrowly avoiding a titan's hand before she wrapped her arm around Erwin's torso and taking him off the ground. With the quickness of the horse and the force of his body she felt her arm be popped out of her shoulder.
Thankfully with her tug Erwin had wrapped his good arm around her latching onto her as she herself latched onto the horse. "Sorry commander" She whimpered out as she forced him onto the front of the horse.
Pushing him against his stomach as she went down to press her chest against his back to keep him there. "But there's no way in hell you're getting left behind" Keeping him silent the girl continued to avoid every titan she could.
Holding onto her horse tightly despite everything happening around her. She ignored it all and kept her gaze straight as she moved. This was hell but then again when was going out on missions like this not?
People died and the one thing that you had to do for them to keep their remembrance long and wide was to continue fighting. Until your very last breath.
"you need to leave" Ewrin grunted out from under her but she ignored him. She ignored the tears flowing down her cheeks. She ignored the ache in her chest. She ignored it all as she forced the horse to stir away from a titan's hand.
Though in doing so she fell from the horse that held Ewrin alone. It was still running away from the chaos as he stayed on its back. His head turning to look at the girl who kept him safe from the titan's grips.
His eyes watching as she was harshly tossed from the horse and rolled against the ground. The pain of all her injuries and emotionally coming at her at once. She stayed on the ground laying there even after she stopped rolling.
The titan that had been the reason for being knocked off was reaching right towards her. Alia couldn't move. All the adrenaline gone as her head was turned to force her to watch the big hand coming towards her.
Twice today she was falling near to her death and there was nothing she could do about it. Jean was probably off fighting some titan to get back Eren. Or maybe he was in the same situation she was in. It matter because he wasn't there to save her this time.
No body was.
Closing her eyes she let the pain of everything take over. Exhaustion hitting her as she got ready to die.
But fate was always the wavering that before the titan could grab her it was suddenly lifting it's head up. Like it had changed it's mind completely to eat her. The thing along with all his titan friends running into one direction.
Alia couldn't see as she fell into the darkness of sleep. Knowing one thing now. Something great of awe just happened and she didn't get to see it.
---
"Soldiers! Retreat!" Erwin shouted out his command as he settled into his horse correctly. His good arm holding onto a knocked out Alia that was in front of him hunched over the horse much like she had forced him to do.
The man had came back to her when the titans all started to eat up the titan before they went off to Reiner's titan now. And in an instant the soldiers took off with Erwin in front once more. This time there was nothing stopping them.
Glancing down to the girl in front of him the commander let out a chuckle before groaning at the pain of his arm. Grasping onto the reigns he leaned down closer to keep Alia still since he had one good arm and she was knocked out.
"I'll be sure to talk to Hange about their hard headed niece" The man muttered out to himself as they made their retreat to back to the wall. They had done it officially this time. Eren was within their grasps safe and sound.
---
Three bodies were laying on top of wall Maria. Breathing heavily as they tried to catch their breaths after taking so much time to rid of the titans that had attacked them.
Reiner was the first to turn his head to look at Ymir who was the only one laying down fully. "I dont get it. What the hell possessed you to come back?" His question truthful of his feeling because he didnt understand why her of all people saved them even after their deal had fallen through.
Bertholdt was silent as he glanced towards the girl as well. He was curious too but needed to get the air within his lungs first. Ymir stared up to the night sky for a moment as she caught on her breath slowly.
Turning her head to look at them she answered them. "It's like Alia said" She muttered as she finally sat up from her laid out form. Her eyes focused on them more closely as she spoke honestly to them.
"We were a family back at training" Ymir muttered out with a chuckle. As bitchy as she was she could admit that at least as she thought about the days she's never been happier. Of course it was mostly of Crista--no Historia who made her happy.
But the others including them had made her happy. Made her feel like a family when she never had one before. Not until they were all in training.
Sighing the girl leaned into her hand that now rested on her knee she pulled up to her chest. "We had our quirks and idiotic side but we were a family....and besides" Ymir brushed her free hand down her only leg that was free to the cold air. "I owe you for eating your friend"
Turning her eyes down to her wondering hand she traced historia's name over her skin. Her thoughts clouded of the girl as she started to tear up. "Think of me as your consolation prize to take back home"
Bertholdt was already crying at this point. Having someone else tell them honestly that they were family felt good. Of course when the others questioned him they reminded him of their training years too.
They were hurt more then anything and that showed they cared about Reiner and him too even if they had betrayed them. It was they were fighting on different sides this time.
"Thanks" He muttered out softly as he stared down to his knees that he had to his chest. "And im sorry for this" Bertholdt then confessed. As good as it felt to know someone else thought the same as Alia it still made him feel the even more guilty for what was going to happen to her.
"No worries" Ymir whispered out as she stared up to the sky again. The night sky being one of the most beautiful things she's ever seen other then Historia. Reiner was quiet during the conversation.
His head still fighting between which version of who he was but the words Ymir said made him cover his eyes. His own tears swelling up inside them as he felt the guilt grow inside his chest. He hated this. The people who gave him pure happiness besides his sister and his few friends back home was going to die.
All because He, Annie, and Bertholdt was on a mission.
---
A week passed and things were still on a high as figuring out what brought in the titans within wall Rose came to. With a sling on her arm, Alia stood beside Connie as they were taken by Hange to see Commander Erwin.
Within the room of recovery for the man wasn't just him but Levi and Commander Pyxis. Silently the blonde girl stared into space for a moment as she blinked at Commander Erwin who was focused on her form despite Hange talking.
The girl was still recovering from her own injuries and was exhausted even after getting hours of sleep. Physically she was getting better but mentally everything was still processing inside her head.
After stating their names and placement of what Cadet corps they came from. The evidence of why they were in the first place coming fast as they got straight to the point. Connie stated out his side before he glanced to Alia who was quiet as ever.
"Though my conclusion through this was because of Alia, Sir" His tone was respectful and serious as he stepped back to stand straight to Alia could go. The blonde girl stood up straighter as she stepped forward.
Her eyes shifting into life as she spoke up. "While Connie's words of the titan welcoming home started it all. During the attack of the castle we were in, I saw titans similar to both my father and brother." The girl glanced back to Connie.
Checking up on him as he made a face for what she was about to say. "I also came to see Connie's sister during the attack as well." She glanced back to Erwin who was narrowing his eyes at them.
The man already knew the hypothesis Hange gave him to why the titans were within Wall Rose. And who it came from in the first place before Moblit had gone to see the village as they went to retrieve Eren.
"You were the one to first come to this conclusion and the hypothesis were you not?" His question could have been seen as trick handed if you didn't know the man. There were rumors among soldiers other then their friend group that gossiped about Alia's loyalty.
But gossip was gossip. So no one spoke up as they waited for Alia to answer. She nodded not backing down at the question. She's proven her loyalty to her friends and to the scouts. And she'd do it again and again if she had to.
"I came to the conclusion when the beast titan was close to us--almost as if he had been playing king in a chest game sir." She explained in terms for examples so it was easy to understand for everyone.
Including Connie. "I think it's best to say this titan is also a shifter but someone outside the walls" She continued on as she thought back to the night within the tower. "before we came into the tower there had been stuff there not of our language and still eatable"
Erwin raised a brow seeing how she came to the defense that there was no other traitor within the ranks and with evidence. His soldiers had shown him not long ago. "Whatever his power is though as a titan has to do something with being able to change people into titans and control them sir"
Alia stood strong as she finished off her conclusion completely. Erwin seemed to be satisfied as he nodded and ordered for the small meeting to end. It wasn't long before the three who entered just minutes ago now left.
---
It wasnt until they were coming to another room did Hange stop to face them--forcing them to stop walking all together. "I've got good news for you two" They spoke up softly as they watched Connie look up from his portrait of his mother and father.
"there's some people who's been wanting to see you for awhile now actually" Hange reached to the door behind them before opening it up to reveal who they were talking about. There sat two 15 year olds.
One was curled up on the bed reading a book while the other was sitting by the window staring as he was yapping away to the one reading. Stepping out of the way for the childhood friends to go inside, Hange smiled as she watched.
Connie was the first to react--dropping the portrait he was once holding as he ran towards his brother at the window. "Naruto!" The bald teen happily screamed as he tackled the blonde from his chair.
Forcing both of them to lay on the ground with Connie on top. "what the hell?!" The blonde called out with a grunt as he was force down. Ready to hit the person only to stop when he saw who it was. "Connie!"
The 15 year old cheered out in the same tone as tears filled his eyes. Happy tears. Wrapping his arms around his older brother he practically squeezed him tight. "You're alive! You're actually Alive!" Naruto cried out as he buried his face into Connie's shoulder.
"I should be the one saying that!" Connie grumbled out but instead of messing with his hair to force his little brother into a nuggie--he just held his brother as close as he could. Tears falling from his cheeks as he hid his face into the blonde's hair. "My brother" He whimpered out feeling nothing but happiness knowing at least one of his family members was alive.
Ignaz and Alia both watched the pair for a moment before turning to one another. Closing his book the redhead place it down on the bed before getting up himself. Taking his time at first before he practically threw himself into Alia's opened arm.
Burying his face into her chest he didnt say a word as he held her and cried. Nothing but relief hitting him as he was finally able to see his sister all these years. Hearing from Sasha that she was alive was nice but not seeing her up until now made it real.
He spent a week in hell with no news of her after he was told his brother and father was dead but with her here--he felt like he could finally break and cry. Grasping onto her shirt he fell down to his knees.
Alia followed him as she held him with one arm, the pain of the other one going right out the window as she held her baby brother. "Ig" She whispered out softly as she pressed her nose into his hair.
Comforting him as she herself cried. Her hand rubbing over his back slowly as she placed soft kisses over his head. The tears she had falling down her fast and quick as she let out a whimper. Her act of being of robot crumbling.
She wasn't a soldier in here. She wasn't automatically moving to do what she needed. Alia Kasper was holding onto what was left of her blood family. Both eased and sad. But most of all happy to hold her baby brother like how she used to when she was little.
Hange raised their hand to wipe a stray tear seeing her family reunite. Though they knew they couldn't interrupt. Ignaz didn't remember them and they were fine with that. Seeing the siblings hold each other made things easier.
So with a smile they closed the door for the four to spend time together for all the lost time they missed in seeing each other. Since the other members of both families couldn't do it.
