okay so i know absolutely nothing about code but im trying to get some adorable jonmartin shimeji made by @wifii! problem is, i am on macOS, but i have downloaded java and other shimeji zip files are working, but i cant get this one to work. I have tried troubleshooting with chatgpt to see if it can detect any issues in the code but i dont know what to do.

does anyone know how to get a shimeji jar file working on mac or has any coding experience to help me figure out how to do it?

Java is a program for desktop applications! Basically you download it so that you can run other things. Most people use it for minecraft but u can use it for other things too, like shimejis.

There are tons of download tutorials on yt that know wayy more than me but the gist of it is: 1. go to java.com 2. click download java

3. It should automatically give you the correct download link, so just click download java again!

to free pearl from her pokeball, extract the ZIP file and double-click on the "shimeji-ee.jar" file. refer to the readme for further configuration and troubleshooting, but don't hesitate to ask me for help if you're having trouble getting her working!

please do not leave pearl unattended for too long, she is nefarious (aka the shimeji will multiply out of control and potentially crash your pc)

AvA Shimejis!!

I was chatting to some people on the AvA discord server, and a person showed me a screenshot of victim sitting at his desk on their desktop. They told me that someone made AvA shimejis, and I felt it made no sense to gatekeep them! You need Windows 10/11, Java and a decent computer for them but go ham!

It's Zooble from The Amazing Digital Circus as a Shimeji! ^^ Free to download for anyone.

The image is just a preview, animations are longer and smoother than seen here. (Some of the actions Zooble blinks her eyes, like the idle for example, but I forgot to add those frames into the preview. ^^' I just didn't go back and fix it.)

This shimeji code is extended to have smoother animations, asymmetry, and extra actions.

You need Java to be able to use shimejis. How to activate Shimeji: After you extract the files from the zip double click "Shimeji-ee.jar". After a few moments a little Zooble icon will appear on your task bar and Zooble will drop down from the top of your screen.

This shimeji uses 1.0.20 version of the program (the "window/streaming update", the curranty most updated version of the program.)
