This is probably because I watched MHA when I just started high school/was finishing middle school during the pandemic but this is my favorite ship probably ever. I could write an essay about why I like it. One of the biggest parts of the show and what drives a lot of it is the interpersonal relationship and conflict between Deku and Bakugo, and I can understand why people would ship them because of that. I don’t, like at all, but I can understand where it’s coming from. The main reason why I like this ship so so much is because Kirishima almost immediately saw through Bakugo, during the JSU thing he was able to realize that Bakugo really trusted in his classmates abilities when NO ONE ELSE did. He is the start of Bakugo’s improvement and development as a character. During the sports festival he gains Bakugo’s respect as a person even if just a little. He’s such an important person in Bakugo’s life. I also just. Love Kirishima. He drinks his respect women juice everyday and the way in which he struggles is very real to me. I love him. He deserves to be happy. Anyway I get why people would prefer Bakugo and Kirishima as friends, the person who has had the most impact on my life is my best friend and I consider them to be the most important person in my life. They don’t need to be romantically involved to be important to each other. But I personally like the ship. I would be willing to forgive so much if at the end of MHA they were just like ‘fuck it, kiribaku is cannon.’ I don’t know if the manga is still being published.
