"Kai's good with kids!" slightly incorrect. Kai is good with stubborn, troublesome kids. Dudes been shown to be dogshit when solely interacting with pretty much all people younger than him except for Nya, Lloyd, & Wyldfyre

He raised Nya, but we know that girl. We've seen her. I know she was a NIGHTMARE kid. She has strong opinions, holds grudges, and does whatever she wants. I love her for this. I also know teenage Kai was fighting for his LIFE. Lloyd was Little Shit Extraordinaire, and he didn't have the bonus of being blood-related to Kai, so Kai had 0 incentive to like him. Even still, Kai heard a small child in distress and immediately Locked In and decided awesome, I'm protecting you forever now. Wyldfyre similarly annoyed the absolute shit out of him, but Kai had his Growth. He still threw hands with Wyldfyre but the difference here is he knew she could fight back. He clocked pretty immediately she had an impatient temper but had a very strong love for her tiny family of 2 (oh hey s1 Kai when'd you get here) and in NO time began flawlessly mentoring.

Kai is like a guy who went to a camp for troubled youths, grew up, then decided to become a counselor at that same camp. He can wrangle a teenage dirtbag out of an alley like a stray cat but if you put him in the same room as a fairly normal kid he's looking at them like this

Chat, I have realized something while watching one piece (currently at the start of marineford)

If you give me siblings that love eachother deeply.

thinking about the weight of gabriel on natalie's life

about how she so rarely textually acknowledges him and even says she does not have a brother when henry says he didn't know she had one which is true but definitely complicated by how, as much as she herself has never known him, gabriel has always been so intertwined with her existence

natalie is of course far more than her dead brother's replacement but simultaneously that is in many ways what she was made for. it is the reality of why dan and diana had her; diana barely manages to cut herself off when she says ''we had natalie to re- and i know she knows''. how devastating must it be, to know that you were born not just because your parents wanted a child but because they wanted a child to distract from the one they lost. and it's not even that they outwardly state that they see your brother in you but that someone you have never known is so deeply embedded in your value to your parents.

and not to mention how gabe lives within the musical and often interacts with her—''morning sunshine''—and she sort of feels it because he is the personification of the ghost of memories passed down to her. he's not there, and yet he always will be.

and part of the crux of her relationship to diana is when her mother is finally able to tell her the circumstances around her brother's death. it is the thing that breaks through to her, for her mother to finally acknowledge that yes, gabriel has been here in our family and has haunted us to the point where we've warped his memory so severely in our minds and in yours. i don't really have anything to say about that other than how fucking devastating it is that so much of your relationship to your family is about someone who's long dead, someone you never got to know in any way besides the grief he left hanging over your parents and your whole life.

i wonder a lot about the life natalie had growing up. about the weight of all that pain on a young child.

So I just got into Palia a little bit ago and I'm already hyperfixated omg I love it❤️

Going into it, I was just like "ok yeah free cozy farming game, but the characters and world are probably pretty surface level since it's a free game so I don't think I'll get attached but I'll still try it out"

And then I kept talking to the characters and increasing my relationships with them and lo and behold I started unlocking tragic backstory after tragic backstory😅😭 I genuinely did not expect such deep lore and character/world building for a FREE-to-play game but omg, I want to hug every single little gremlin in this game, they're all traumatized🥺❤️

Got this idea back in September but never got around to posting it, so have Reth and Tish in modern style clothing.

This is actually the first time in nearly a year since I've drawn traditionally. I had an unfortunate conversation with someone that discouraged me so badly, I gave up drawing traditionally at all.

I'm easing myself back to into it though, so I'll see how it goes!
