Sirius is my favorite character after Snape, but it's so funny when people try to elevate him to some huge figure in the war? A war hero? 💀like, the small amount of information we have about the first war indicates that the order was losing BADLY basically the entire time, and maybe I forgot something but I can't recall a single thing that he did?? We know that Moody killed Rosier (and maybe Wilkes? idk) and then proceeded to arrest a bunch of DEs, but I really, really don't remember hearing about Sirius doing much?
He was fighting for the Order and putting his life on the line from the get-go for a cause that didn't really concern him, and that is noble onto itself! There's no need to invent delusions about him being some kind of big, classical hero, especially since HP doesn't do those, like, at all.
Also, Snape being called a child murdering fascist is so funny for some reason. WHOSE child did he kill, what
One of the things that bothers me the most about the new fans of the Marauders is their view of Sirius Black because they basically strip away all the interest from his character. I mean, they transform a character with plenty of issues and highly questionable attitudes—someone who is capable of following the "good guys" from the start despite his sadistic impulses and elitism, someone who can love people deeply and hate just as intensely, who can be an amazing guy to those he considers his own and a true monster to those he doesn't—into some sort of rich hero for the working class, who, if he doesn't have two hundred medals for heroism, it's only because the world is cruel. Damn, let Sirius Black be Sirius Black. Let him be a shitty guy, because that's what makes him interesting. We know he was a powerful and talented wizard; we know he showcased that talent during his years at Hogwarts by creating a map and becoming an Animagus; he doesn't need to take credit for others' deeds during the war years. I mean, Sirius was just a kid during that time, and we don't know if he did much more than being a soldier for Dumbledore. In fact, if he had been crucial to Dumbledore, he wouldn’t have been allowed to go to Azkaban so easily. We know how Dumbledore operates in these matters; he can be very cynical and hypocritical if it suits his plans.
No, Sirius wasn't a war hero, and that's one of his great tragedies, which is one of the things that makes his character not flat. Sirius wanted to distance himself from everything his family represented, but he continued to behave just as violently as his family toward those he didn't deem worthy of his sympathy and empathy. Sirius got involved in a cause that didn't really concern him because it was a way to continue opposing his family’s values, and despite being a powerful wizard, despite his talent, despite having the name, the blood, and everything in his favor, he ended up losing his friends, losing his youth, and finally relegated to being a poor man locked up in the house he hated so much, unable to contribute a damn thing to the war, watching everyone else bust their asses while he stayed locked in his mother's room, only to die impulsively and recklessly in a ridiculous way, ironically, at the hands of his own cousin. Sirius wasn't a war hero, but that's precisely why he's interesting, because his path was supposed to be that of a war hero, and he didn't achieve it. And it's much better this way, because his tragedy stems from his pathetic nature, and pathos is wonderful for a character. I mean, we truly don't need perfect characters or for them to be turned into lambs or social justice icons. We need characters to be as they were conceived, with their good parts but also their bad ones.
Well, calling Severus a fascist is itself amusing because it shows that these people have no fucking idea what fascism is and, incidentally, once again exposes how these people dedicate themselves to twisting, manipulating, and arbitrarily changing the narrative to make him look like the ultimate villain because they need excuses to hate him openly.

Ryan Coogler was born to be a filmmaker the same way a camera was made to be held by someone like Ryan Coogler. This is the best complement i think i can give any director and Ryan really earn it with Sinners, holy "and i can't state this enough" focking shit, this movie is so cool with its style, so sexy with its premise, so hartwarming with the way is put together, this is the kind of movie that makes people fall in love with film, and makes people reignite ther love for cinema, i am so glad to be alive at the time this came out. go watch this movie, is the kind of thing that inspire any artist of any field to keep going tespite of anything

It's my personal HD that o!Ciel is called either Seren meaning "star" (a Welsh male and female name), on account of being destined to be one small part of the vast "sky" that was his older brother; or Sol meaning "ground" in French, as an oposite of his brother (paradoxically, Sol means "sun" in spanish); that might just end up being more important...

I'm actually crying a bit rn because some if my uni friends just asked in our WhatsApp group if someone was going to CSD on Saturday. And I was super nervous because I haven't seen these guys in a bit (they are all writing their theses), but I always felt extremely comfortable with them (three of them are bi and we talked a lot and I actually considered for a few months last year if I am maybe bisexual too, because, yesss women are pretty.) Anyway. I said that I had already thought about going because I was curious, but that I also felt nervous because I've never been there before and I've only relatively recently discovered that asexuality exists and even more recently that I actually am, and that I was feeling a bit uncool.
And they immediately said "That's not uncool" and I hurried to say "Yes, of course being asexual isn't uncool, that's not what I meant", and then they said "No, you aren't uncool", and someone sent a picture of frogs in ace colours because they know I like frogs, and now they say I should just join them and I can leave if I get overwhelmed with the people and the noise (and now I'm crying again although I started typing this 30 mins ago).
Well, it looks like I'm going to my first Pride Event on Saturday. :)
#for the record I AM relatively uncool#I spend between 5 - 10 h a day at the library at least 6 days iof the week because i have no life and i take my studies RIDICULOUSLY sirious#I'm a terrible perfectionist and if that isn't uncool i don't know#but somehow they like me and they want me spend time with them :')#when that friend group formed last year i was so ELATED#i have friends but it's usual 1 to 1 relationships#I'm not usually a part of the group with the cool people#but i even celebrated my birthday with them and they think I'm funny and sometimes I'm just so confused because#of course my mum thinks I'm funny and the three nerdy friends i handpicked#but a whole group of people? wow#also they talk about sex a lot and whenever it came up and they asked me about my opinion I was like#Uhm honestly I don't know I've only been in one relationship so I guess I didn't have time to experiment or something#so I knew they are really liberal that way but paradoxically at the same time that made me even more nervous because#they are so interested in sex and i am not OH NO what if they think I'm boring#well there are many reasons to think me boring but they study with me so i guess they know about all these other reasons too#(i was the only one in the group who really enjoyed historical lectures)#okay ngl I'm still nervous#i rarely go to fairgrounds or demonstrations because of the noise and the people and this feels even more personal#but i think I will be alright :))#huh#personal thoughts#asexuality

When Harry was eleven years old and had just received his invitation to Hogwarts, James had sat him down when Regulus was away. About sex, thought Harry. He knew what it was, he didn't need a lecture about it.
But James began about something way more sirious. He told Harry that in some households, parents were different. That in some households, parents didn't love their children, but were cruel en demanding. That some parents didn't just send their children to their room when they did something wrong, but hurt them. Harry's father knew it was a heavy topic for such a young child, but it was very imporant.
James explained to him what was the best coure of action if he ever suspected someone he knew had troubles at home. How to recognise that. How to be there for them, not even seeking ways to fix it, but to primary just confort them. How that could be the difference for them.
Harry was filled with confusion after the talk and it wasn't until he got older and noticed that Regulus and Sirius never talked about their parents and both had similair looking scars. It was then that he realised how important that topic had been for his father, and how important his father had been for the Black brothers.

Batkids in Metropolis
For context: they have sunglasses on, bc it's Metropolis, and they're fucking Gothamites AND bats so...
Cass: It's so...
Cass: It's so bright here.
Duke: Right? How can anyone live here?
Steph *putting on second pair of sunglasses*: Oh man, it gives me flashbacks.
Tim: Wtf, Steph. Flashbacks to what?
Jason: To death. Duh.
*Steph and Jason high-five*
Dick *just wanted a break from Bruce's bullshit*: Sometimes I hate you so much. Why do everything have to be a death joke to you?
Steph: I don't know what you're talking about...
Steph: I'm dead sirious.
Duke: 1/5, unoriginal.
Steph: Hey!
Damian's home bc he's grounded. He skipped school again. Jason and Tim paughed at him and he's now plotting revenge.

Since you said Sirius resembles Bellatrix a lot do you think they had the same/similar personality? We can't really tell who Bellatrix was from the books but the parallels between her and Sirius are interesting.
I think they must have had a lot in common—or at least that's my personal headcanon. We don’t know much about Bellatrix, really, but we do know she was loyal to an almost irrational degree. Sirius is a bit like that, too; his loyalty to James was completely irrational, to the point that he projected it onto Harry. He never truly saw Harry as himself but rather as an extension of James, using him to process his unresolved trauma over his lost youth and grief. Both Bellatrix and Sirius had very explosive, impulsive, and reckless personalities. Both were quite violent and showed sadistic tendencies.
While Sirius reined it in because he was on the "good" side and had "good" influences—understood more as being surrounded by people with a moral compass that he eventually internalized—he still demonstrates throughout the story that he could be deeply problematic when he lost control. Attempting to commit murder against a classmate and simultaneously endangering his own friend just for the sake of having fun at someone else's expense is something Bellatrix would absolutely do. Stalking your bullying target like a hungry dog hunting prey? Also very Bellatrix-like behavior. Swap Severus Snape for any Muggle-born student, and you essentially get the same worldview Bellatrix had about those "beneath her."
An interesting parallel between them is that they’re both eldest siblings. While Bellatrix had two sisters and Sirius had one brother, they were both firstborns, and the fact that they share so many traits strikes me as fascinating.
I’m not sure if they had the same personality, but I do think their temperaments were very similar. And because of that, it’s likely they would have absolutely clashed. Characters with such strong, explosive natures can’t coexist peacefully; they need people with quieter energy to balance them out. Put them together, and they’d probably tear each other apart.
